Just a quick note to everyone

Hi friends - it's sassy_cissa here. As my co-mod said before thank you to everyone who participated in this year's fest.

However, I would be very remiss if I didn't personally thank @timothysboxers for basically carrying the fest alone this year. While he's the one who puts together all the brilliant AirTable forms and generally makes things easier, this year he did 95% of the posting also. Where was I? Well I buggered off for a 2 week holiday at the end of the fest. So while I was drinking and eating my way down the Rhine river from Amsterdam to Basel, Switzerland - Tim was holding down the fort and doing all the things I generally do at the end of the fest.

He's going to say it was "nothing" but trust me...it was. So please join me in a round of applause for him and everything he does for this fest.

So I'm going to leave you with a picture of the last sunset of my holiday - taken from the balcony off our room on the ship. And my undying gratitude for the best co-mod anyone could every hope for.

Hello everyone!

After the success of Jegulus Big Bang 2024, we are back for a new run opening this month! We decided to move the schedule up a bit this year, as a lot of our deadlines overlapped with the holiday period and we are hoping an earlier timeframe will make it easier for those participating!

The blog has been updated with the new schedule, if you were wondering when deadlines will be, and sign ups will open on March 15th!

There have been some changes this year! As this is our second run, all author's who sign up will need to provide a link to a completed minimum 20,000 word fic that they have published (this can be for any fandom).

Another important change is the mod team. I am so appreciative of all the work the mods put into the last run, the Big Bang wouldn't have existed without them, and I am sad to see them go (though hopefully they'll still be joining us in the fest, just in a different capacity)! This run I (Shan @pissmotif) will be returning as a mod, with Em (@emlovessid) joining the mod team for the first time!

We look forward to seeing what you all create this year, and are so excited to be bringing it back for a second round!

Fandom Free Bingo: Untamed Edition!

Please Note. Following implications of the behaviour of a certain previously-credible author and its affect on the queer community, we will no longer be reblogging fills from within the Harry Potter fandom. We never wanted to make this a political environment, but this has gone beyond politics. The money raised by this woman through HP is actively going into fighting against the rights of trans folks, and we refuse to support anything related to her or her works. I'm sorry, but I just have to say something.

I have tried to be nice and patient, but some of you so-called Austin "fans" in this fandom (and in my inbox) can be worse than enemies. 😒

Why do you need to put this man down and his career for like this? What is your goal? Is it to win some silly fandom wars on Twitter?

What is the point?

This man is a kind, hard-working, gracious person, who's super sweet to fans, and he's enjoying what he's been doing, he loves acting, and he always puts 110% into whatever he does. He doesn't need Negative Nancy Naysayers like yourself hating on him or complaining about his career every two seconds.

I see this in other fandoms as well. Constant criticism, negativity, angst over the career, etc.

Give it up!

Austin is doing just fine, and his career doesn't need to look like someone else's. Who cares what other actors are doing? 🥴 Everyone has their own career. Let them focus on it.

I just don't see the point in worrying about this man's career, when he's doing just fine, and in the grand scheme of things, this stuff doesn't even matter.

Why do you insist on trying to bring negativity to a man who is kind, positive, always respectful of others, hard-working, humble, down to earth, etc?

Maybe this is how people like to enjoy their fandoms these days (constant criticism, constant negativity, constant debating and arguing) , but I'll let you know right here and now that I don't want to run my blog this way. I could see if the complaints about his career or film choices were actually valid and concerning, but they're not.

Austin's film career is his career, it's not yours.

A bit of an update/mini announcement. My grandmother's situation has been looking up. We're gradually getting things in order and this whole ordeal should be straightened out soon. It's greatly taken a lot out of me this past month though, but I've been resting a lot recently cause now we're just biding our time until our court date in October. My motivation has still been very much absent, but I'd love to get the creative juices flowing again in some way.

So here's my mini announcement: I'm thinking about doing a game with ya'll. Something similar to the ones where you get to ask the characters questions, but instead, it'll be with prompts! I'll come up with a list of prompts for ya'll to choose from, and I draw a one-shot for whatever activity you'd like to see my characters do! I also think I'd be fun to do a fall/autumn theme with it being around the corner, and rather than setting a time limit, this will be an ongoing... "event" I guess we'll call it, for the fall season (or just until I decide to stop, depending on how I feel). So if someone were to pick, for example: 🎃-Carve Pumpkins, I'll draw a one-shot of the mewtwo fam making jack-o-lanterns XD
