☿ — MODULAR SYSTEM
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Modular systems are systems with many fragments that “merge” or “combine” to create temporary alters, then “unmerge.” The fragments may not be the same after this.
This term was coined by Richard Kuft in 1991. He describes several different presentations of DID. It is not my own term, just a flag for the term.

Here’s some positivity for modular systems!
According to Pluralpedia, modular systems “…have fragments (described "autonomous ego functions") that "merge", "stack", or "combine" together situation-by-situation to create temporary system members that afterwards "break apart". Those system members often come off as vague and may not been seen in the same way again, or only in the same specific circumstance.” This post is for systems who function in this way!
👾 Shoutout to fragments who are unsure of who they were in the past and don’t know who they might be in the future!
🔮 Shoutout to systems and headmates who are in a constant state of flux and change!
💜 Shoutout to headmates who struggle to hold on to a solid sense of self!
👾 Shoutout to systems whose fragments form into members in cycles or waves!
🔮 Shoutout to systems whose fragments become headmates regularly in order to complete certain tasks!
💜 Shoutout to systems who love their plurality and have embraced the modular nature of their system!
👾 Shoutout to fragments who have never combined into the same headmate more than once!
🔮 Shoutout to modular systems who struggled to come to terms with their plurality or learn about their system due to the way it functions!
💜 Shoutout to systems who often feel left out of plural spaces due to the unique way their plurality manifests!
👾 Shoutout to modular systems who are also polyfragmented, or who are made up of a vast number of fragments!
🔮 Shoutout to created, spontaneous, and trauma-formed modular systems, along with modular systems who don’t know their origins!
No matter how uncommon your system type is or how uniquely it functions, please remember that you are loved, valued, and cherished just the way you are! Whether the fragments of your system regularly form into the same members, or always combine into unique headmates, know that there is nothing wrong with the way your system works. You are loved and appreciated just the way you are!
Please try your best to treat yourself and your system with kindness today and every day. Know that you will always be an integral part of the plural community as long as you want to be here, and we are honored to be able to share this space with you! Thanks so much for reading, and have a wonderful day!

Modular Building Design - Phnx Modular
In a modular building design, each module is constructed in a controlled factory environment, ensuring precision and quality. These modules can be customized to meet specific project requirements, offering a high degree of flexibility in design. Once completed, the modules are transported to the construction site and assembled quickly, significantly reducing construction time and costs.

screaming a little bit
apologizing to Tolkien that I only had time to take Linguistics 101
(but in my defense, that was because I was too busy taking 800 other language classes)

do you happen to have any psds saved for the cat skins? i love how high quality yours are and would like to make my own custom patterns, i understand if not tho!
I will not be releasing the psds as they are, because they're large files and they are not set up in a way that would make them easy for someone else to use. They're also 100% painted from scratch and I'll admit to feeling kind of protective over them, since releasing a template for recolors pretty much immediately relinquishes any further control over what's done with them. I could see maybe releasing a template for personal use in the future but I'd need to think about how I'd want to go about that and reorganize the layers etc into something easier to parse.

any other systems (esp polyfrag/modular ones) have various alters are assigned to specific body parts? for example, we have an alter called hands that mainly controls our hand, especially our left hand.
when we switch, the body team, that is, the alters assigned to body parts, may switch out partially, switch entirely or stay the same.
when we are, for example, writing, we may have more hand alters front, 3-4 at a time. each has a different way of holding the pen, easing our chronic pain. meanwhile, the foot alter might stay the same throughout this entire experience.

Nothing like making an old oc using Glamourer and then getting sent back 12 years and you get sent down a mental wormhole of all the old ideas you had for them and then you wake up and you've just been crafting on the moon the whole time and have 2 more relics than you had when you started
