CHAT I DID HER LORE!! This version of Mona Lisa is fan made for Tales of the TMNT/ TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, she is inspired by the 1987’s version of the character!

Here’s a quick lore drop of Mona Lisa:

15 years ago…

Captain Flinch became a EX-TCRI member when he realized his own potential. Instead of mutants becoming a weapon for war, like Cynthia and TCRI wanted, he wanted to use mutants as his own goons that can find him the treasures that lie in and on the ocean.

Fortunately for Captain Flinch, he was able to make a small group of mutants to complete his plan.

While invading a cruise ship for loot to strengthen Captain Flinch’s ship, the youngest mutant in the group escaped his ship and into the cruise without anyone knowing. She was a lizard mutant who was just a toddler at the time.

A married couple who were scientists managed to escape Captain’s Flinch’s group of mutants. In the process of escaping the raided, fancy decorated cruise, they found this certain small mutant trying to eat an ice replica of the Mona Lisa. A pang of sympathy and parental care hit the two adults. (I think that’s how middle aged people work when they see little kids)

She wasn’t like the other mutants who tried to hurt everyone on board, this lizard was just an unprotected toddler.

Mr and Mrs. Need a name decided to raise this mutant as their own and named her Mona Lisa. For all her life, Mona was homeschooled and taken care of in an abandoned cruise (the same cruise after it got raided by Flinch) by her human parents. As a side hustle to their scientific career, the couple revamped the cruise and rent it out to rich people wanting to hold big events with it. Mona Lisa always has the duties to stay hidden but protect to cruise ship’s passengers.

Present time…

A big pizza brand rented Mona’s parent’s ship for their 100th anniversary celebration, a 12-hour costume party on a cruise! Peter’s Pizzas randomly distributed free tickets to the event in pizza boxes for handful of lucky winner.

Mona Lisa is now 15 years old. Because of this big pizza event, she is on bodyguard duty once again. However, this time, it’s a solo mission! No guidance from her parents (who are away on a business trip), no tips and tricks from others, and definitely no asking for help when things go wrongs.

Just trusty ole Mona!…

okay okay okay, so! I will (until someone comes for me, but no one will ‘cuz y’all are cowards, I say, knowing my childhood nostalgia is doing a lot of the heavy lifting in my affection for Next Mutation but also i love camp) acknowledge and self-impose the title of Next Mutation trash lover as a disclaimer for why I’m gonna do another quick run down of Venus’ origin again. but a quick skim because a bitch is losing against her insomnia demon rn. 

now, a lot of the kids know that Venus = magic, in general. however, at least to me, intentionally or not Venus was more portrayed like a daoist... ‘magician’ of sorts, but less in a real world daoist sense and more of a cultivator in the xianxia genre sort of way. granted she wears the taijitu (yin yang symbol) and literally showed the boys her box of herbal medicine (and one dessicated vampire heart lololol). and now that I mentioned all of that, I can segue into why I gave her “White Snake” as a code name-- in that I chose it after Bai Suzhen/Bai Shejing which now that my insomnia riddled mind  is typing it out... my reasoning is actually pretty shallow, they both cultivate technically speaking, both work with herbal medicine and they just wanna help people. also just ‘cuz IDW has Venus wearing white now.

I don’t really ship 87 Ramona (although I do love the idea of them in a QPR) but. If they did feel romantically for each other it would take forever for them to actually get together, if they even do, in sharp contrast to the 2012 “we’ve known each other two hours now we’re committed for life” speedrun. Raphael would have fallen in love years ago but would not recognise this fact once. Mona Lisa is also part of the problem. She has a layer of superficiality she always uses as protection over her true feelings, so how does she even know her flirting is sincere? How would Raphael be supposed to know? She’d overthink it. Also she’s a lesbian so falling in love with your best friend is like mandated and agonising. She’d have accepted her fate and already resigned herself that it’s never going to happen. She’s just happy they’re close to each other. Meanwhile Raphael thinks “huh, I want to marry her” then goes about his day. This realisation occurs multiple times but he never reads into it.

Stepping into the Diaz house is warm and familiar, but the magnetic tension between himself and Eddie isn’t. Buck feels pushed out of his comfort zone in the best way, exhilarated like he’s standing on a cliff’s edge without a harness, sharp wind biting at his cheeks.

He follows Eddie’s lead, toeing his shoes off by the door and then trailing after him into the kitchen. He accepts the beer that’s offered to him, popping the cap off into the sink before leaning back against it.

Eddie’s gaze on him is like a physical touch, caressing his neck, his chest, his hips, lower. The darkness is there again, just beneath the surface, and this time Buck has no trouble identifying it as lust.

“You just gonna stare?” he asks, voice barely above a whisper. He fears if he speaks too loud, the moment will fracture and shatter, and he’ll wake up in his own bed again.

Eddie seems burdened by no such worries. “I like looking at you,” he says, but even as he does, he’s moving forward to pull the bottle out of Buck’s grasp and set it in the sink along with his own, both less than half empty. His hands fall to Buck’s waist, and for a moment Buck thinks he might actually hoist him up onto the counter, which sends a shock of arousal zipping down his spine. But instead, Eddie pulls him away from it, turns him towards the doorway, and gives him a gentle shove.
