GIF REMAKE CHALLENGE! ✨

📩 remake someone’s else colouring, sharpening, slowing, and resizing. do your best to get close to the original and share how you did. make a new gif to challenge those you tag to recreate. share the source video if possible! try not to tell those you tagged anything to help them; see what they can figure out and how close they get on their own! if you’re tagged in several, you can do one or all, whatever you like! if they have a giffing tutorial, shared actions, etc., you can use that to aid your recreation!

tagged by my beloved em @strayklds to recreate the masterpiece that was her hanji gif which was a StruggleTM both because that’s one of his best looks imo and because of the studio choom lighting from hell alksmsanfhdg i spent an eternity trying to correct how the blacks looked in my gif because yours were more blue-toned and mine were all terribly green but! i think i did a pretty decent job in in the end 💞

and thank you so much lua @yongbonk for the tag too, i tried recreating your stunning gif and it was a real challenge because it’s so different from what’s my usual style of coloring but i had so so much fun doing this! 💗💗 the lighting and the sharpening are a bit off cause i don’t use VS and after the 5th try i refused to touch curves any more asdhgsfh i said this will have to do lmao i couldn’t figure out how to make the red pop like you did for the life of me without drastically altering the skin hue, please teach me your secrets because that shade of red is gorgeous!

Month 4, day 13

Did a lot today! Also did nothing else today lol. I have legit been at this for somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 to 8 hours. I don't remember when I started but I do remember checking the clock at around 5pm after I'd been at it for awhile, and it is now past 10:30pm. So... yeah. I had fun :D

This is the result of parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial series I'm following (I should probably link those more often). Also I made more trees from part 1 just because I could (and also I wanted the practice, but mostly because I could). I... may have been having too much fun modeling things. The second part of the tutorial was for the non-tree plants, and I did way more than the tutorial called for.

I have six trees, 11 grasses, 4 flowers, and 7 ferns (or whatever those plants are supposed to be). The tutorials only called for three trees, five grasses, four flowers, and six ferns. At least I got the number of flowers right? But, uh, I gave the flowers more colors than I was supposed to and set it up so the bundles of flowers are all different colors instead of all the same. So still did more than I should have :P

The third part of the tutorial series was setting up the environment and getting it ready to spread plants all over it. So we made the ground, the hills in the background, and the sky. The sky I'm most excited about making, because I plan to abuse my sky-making privileges when I go to make the swords finally >:D Actually pretty much everything I learned in these tutorials I'll be using in one way or another for the swords, but being able to make my own sky means I can get ~*fancy*~ with the environments I put the swords in :D

i think a lot of the problem i dont really intend to like... have my art look a specific way when i draw? obviously art styles are blah blah blah but like i just draw and try to make it look right rather than try to make it look a specific way... theres certain things i think i DO stylise pretty consistently but not most stuff. and i think working on that would help witha lot of the frustrations i have with my art but again im not really sure how to do that without just copying the same stuff over and over... i know people do style studies but again same issue im not really sure how to do that and then translate that into my own unique art and especially how to incorporate different aspects of different styles in my own art without just copying people which i do not want to do i want it to look like MY ART !
