🟨 TUTORIAL: ━ How I make my Couple/Synced Poses!

Heya! 👋 @humberg asked about it in DMs and I thought it would be cool to make it a small-tutorial with visuals!

This is for fellow poses-modders, a step-to-step guide on how I make my Synced Poses; meaning poses that fits into each others

As always, this isn't THE way of doing it, just sharing my own workflow :3

Before anything tho I recommend checking the "Animation'' section of the Modding Wiki here, to grab xBaebsae's templates and get started on pose making!

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

I personally get references and inspiration from DAZ poses, couple/duo photography, or free-to-use references like @/grey-fuckers-unlimited here on Tumblr! I recommend checking their blog

I'll use my Carrying Pack as an example

First, I pose my Carrier / my main pose / my A pose

a rough posing first as I'll probably need to come back to it later to tweak it with Pose B

I save my .blend file as Carry01a and export it to .fbx!

I then open a new blender project, with the MA template, and import my Pose A FBX

I can now pose my Pose B to fit roughly into Pose A!

I save my .blend file, Carry01b, and export my Pose B to FBX as well, if I need to go back to my Pose A to tweak it a bit (especially the fingers)

And that's basically it :3 you can resume the regular pose making workflow, baking both poses in the non-linear tab in their respective .blend files and export them over your .glb container

If you keep the character from the Template in the center, the poses will Sync correctly in game!

I saw that Angy/xBaeBsae releazed a template with multiple armature in it, tho I haven't got the chance to play around with it just yet! :O But it should allow for an easier Couple Posing workflow

You should count yourself lucky. You not only have a gorgeous and adorable husband. But a husband who also doubles as your own personal chef and baker. 

As soon as you walk through the front door your senses are hit with an array of food. Slipping off your shoes, your feet meet the cold tiles of the marble entrance before transitioning to the soft plush carpet of the Gojo estate. 

Your body aches and you’ve been on your feet all day with rarely enough time to eat. This is what makes coming home so special. Knowing that your precious husband has a meal already waiting for you. 

You focus on the scent which fills the house, making your guesses of what it could be as you make your way to the dining room. Satoru often puts you to the test, never telling you what the meal is until you take the very first bite. 

The dining hall is already lit with candles, keeping the ambiance low and calm. Exactly what you needed after a stressful day like today. Your meals were always ready and piping hot at the table, with your husband awaiting by it. His own dish awaits next to yours, smoke rising and the savoury aroma tempting him to take a bite. But he never does. He stays loyal to the idea of watching you taking the first bite and even on the days when you arrive late or work overtime he keeps your plate warm until you arrive home, dedicated to making the perfect meal for you every day. 

Each dinner was entirely different and varied. Some days he did a simple curry recipe, other days he made your favourite macaroni cheese dish, yet on the days when you least expected it your husband made dishes that could only be found in the top restaurants in the world, michelin star and above. He even goes out of his way to provide the best beverage for each meal. The estate has its very own cellar, collecting wines from all over the world and maintaining the rarest wines that nobody could find. 

Often, you express the idea that Satoru should open his own restaurant, evident that it would make waves in the food industry and no doubt would be the best in the world. But everytime you bring it up he rejects the idea, stating that he is only content in making food if you were his sole customer. He’s dedicated to making food to fit the standards of your taste and he’s not willing to expand that for anybody else in the world. No matter the price they could offer. 

In addition to being your own chef, your husband also has interests in baking. He doesn’t do it often, rather focused on his culinary skills of dishes than baking cakes but with his extreme sweet tooth it would only be a matter of time before he dived into the baking world. 

Stepping out from your busy workday routine, Sundays usually find you and your husband sleeping in till late. Of course, you’re more tired out than him so Satoru ends up slipping from your grasp to head over to the kitchen. You’ve barely opened your eyes before the soft hum of a mixer is heard. 

The kitchen has always been Satoru’s haven, a place where he can work with no interruptions from anyone (apart from you of course). He’s joked that even if he went blind he could still make the best meals possible, knowing all the ins and the outs of his environment. 

Satoru’s workflow doesn’t get disturbed when he hears your footsteps patter on the kitchen tiles, he’s currently icing one of his favorite cakes: strawberry cake with whipped cream frosting. There’s a pile of chopped strawberries next to him for the final decoration once the frosting has settled. 

The entire room smells like sweet sugar and strawberries along with a little heat from the use of the oven. Silently, you join your husband’s side and watch silently as he pumps out the icing in a methodical manner, waiting until he’s finished. Vitiligo "Birch" Version 2.1

This release is a special one. I decided to split the vitiligo for hands into several sub-versions, and there are a few reasons for that.

First, the creation process was completely different from what I’m used to. I drew everything on a regular tablet without a computer, and honestly, it wasn’t the most comfortable experience. I had to adapt to a new workflow, but maybe that was part of the fun.

Second, I still don’t know which vitiligo style you’ll like the most. A more realistic one? A delicate lace-like pattern? Or maybe a version with tiny speckles? That’s why I decided to take a short pause and split the release into two or even three parts, so I don’t rush and can see your reactions first. I’m still planning to create a total of 45 color variations/spots for hands.

My subscriber Tina Moon helped me with testing and screenshots—her model is the one you see on the cover of this set. So in a way, Birch v2.1 is not just my creation, but also the result of a small collaborative experiment

Now, a few words from me, as it seems I’ve somehow become a center of controversy. Some people have voiced concerns about me using AI in my workflow, and while I understand their perspective, I don’t think it’s as big of an issue as it’s made out to be.

This particular sketch was drawn entirely in Procreate—no AI involved, for anyone wondering. But yes, I do use AI sometimes. I have a busy life and severe ADHD, which makes it hard to finish long projects. To help, I trained an AI model on my own art. I use it for things like corrections or coloring, allowing me to create more efficiently and, frankly, enjoy the process more.

Is it “cheating”? Maybe some think so, but I remember hearing the same arguments about Photoshop years ago. To me, AI is just another tool. It’s fun, it’s helpful, and it lets me finish work I might otherwise abandon.

Of course, I understand concerns about AI models trained on others’ art without consent—that’s a valid issue. But using a custom model trained on my own work? That feels perfectly fine to me.

[WIP]: Lyralei's Pose Player Addon Fixes!

All credit for the original Pose Player Addon goes to VirtualArtisan/Misukisu! This mod is simply an enhancement to their amazing work, building on the foundation they created.

Ages ago, @nocturnalazure sparked a discussion about Pose Player Addon. While the current changes may not fully align with her original ideas, I wanted to share what I’ve been working on so far! 😊

Side Note: Noctie,when I first wrote that, I didn’t actually have a Sim I wanted to pose like that yet, but lately I've been trying to and it's SO FRUSTRATING! Argh! :p . So rest assured, I’m definitely looking into adding this feature now!

Current Features

It will now remember what poses your sim has done this gameplay session! This way, you can re-pose them into a pose they did 5 poses before the current one.

Poses Are Now Automatically Sorted!

We all know how looooooong it can take when loading all the poses from pose list. So, what I've added, is the additional option to only show poses based off it's category!

🔧How it works under the hood:

If you’re familiar with XML, you’ll pick this up in no time!

Each category (let’s use Emotion as an example) is associated with specific keywords. For instance, the Emotion category might include subcategories like Happiness, Sadness, Anger, etc.

Here’s what the XML for Happiness looks like:

<keyword_emotion> <name_category>Happiness</name_category> <keywords>happy, happiness, smile, smiled, smiling, laugh, laughed, laughing, jump, jumped, jumping, cheer, cheered, cheering, clap, clapped, clapping</keywords> </keyword_emotion>

As shown in the (highlighted in blue) keywords line, I’ve added a list of terms. These keywords help determine whether a pose belongs to the Happiness category. The script scans all installed poses and checks if their name, description, or pose key matches any of these keywords.

Of course, I’m still fine-tuning this feature, as some keywords (like jump) can have different meanings depending on the context.

But without further ado, here it is in picture form!

Ignore the weapon poses, I still need to debug why that's being added, but overall, in this case, it's got "shyness" poses! :)

And the best part?

You can create your own custom categories, and the script will automatically detect them! 🎉

I’m currently working on some default categories for those who prefer a plug-and-play solution or don’t feel comfortable diving into the technical side of things. But if you enjoy customizing your workflow, the flexibility is all yours! 😊

What I'm adding before release:

Adding the option to seamlessly use both “look at” and “facial expression” together.

Adding the option to see the categorized lists, but for non-pose list poses.

Adding an in-game Category maker, so you don't have to edit the XML. It will mean you need to replace the XML file in S3PE yourself. But I can always make a quick How-To for guidance 😉

A better "look at" system. TS3 actually comes with a system where the sim can "look" at something by turning multiple sections of their bodies. Here's the full list: ��Torso ,Head, Eye. Currently Pose addon only allows Eyes to look at things.

Merge two poses together. This way you can use one pose that's specifically made for facial expressions, while the rest is handled by, say, that sitting pose you want to use!

... And of course anything else that sounds like a good idea by other pose player users! 😉
