Watched the Montecito Mansion episode from Ghost Adventures, and the moment the Gatekeeper is mentioned this rhyme popped into my head:

It’s not, but what exactly is her brand now? I think that’s the main problem.

Plant, I respectfully disagree that she has neither a brand nor authenticity. She has both. The problem is that they are both negative. They don't sell.

Her brand is family problems, drama, reclusiveness, over the top spending. She's not seen enough to be aspirational--no one sees her on a great vacation playing at the beach or doing some kind of DIY decor at the Montecito mansion or baking cookies and sharing the recipe, or trying some new face mask. No one wants her advice on family because we never see her kids, and everyone knows neither she nor her husband get along with their families. No one wants what she merches because we can't afford it.

I am a middle class American and I have a Reiss blouse, an Issa dress, Superga shoes, three other tops that are what Kate wore, and knock off Kikis that I found on Etsy. Kate has enough of a mix of style that you can get a pretty dress and some sneakers then admire all the McQueen from afar. Meghan's got Birkin bags and Dior caftans. It doesn't translate.

She HAS a brand, and the problem for her is that in the age of internet receipts, well, her brand IS authentic. She is who she is. We all know it. And none of us want to be it.

But you’re right. People now associate her with constant drama and conflict, which is not attractive nor aspirational. It’s not even fun drama, like in the Housewives franchise. It’s just loud and uncomfortable.

This 1992 home in Montecito, California is known as the Charlie Munger House and is staggering beautiful. It has 4bd  6ba and is priced at $11.82M.

The living room has a nice fireplace wall and I like that they make a special place for the flatscreen, rather than over the fireplace. Beautiful paned glass windows give a view of the garden and I like the big handles they put on the middle of the doors.

Look at it with the doors completely open. That’s bringing the outside in. 

Open concept leads from the living room area to the kitchen, yet it’s still separate. Love the island and how it’s a real table that the bench seats can actually fit under. Beautiful cabinetry and overhead lighting.

Look at the nice pantry. It’s bigger than my kitchen.

Love the dining room ceiling, except that it has that fixture that is so popular, yet I don’t care for. Lovely fireplace and wallpaper. 

This is fabulous- the ceiling, paned skylight, lighting and mezzanine view from downstairs.

The more casual family room is just as lovely as the formal living room. 

Love the main bd. Look at that ceiling. There’s a great built-in and doors to the terrace.

Beautiful modern farmhouse style en-suite.

Look at the nice, spacious guest room. Interesting tray ceiling and doors to a terrace.

Looks like every bd. is spacious, has a different ceiling - look at this one with neon- plus doors to a private terrace.

I've stated since day 1 that they only rented it. We only saw it on the NF dock and nothing since. It's also been posted on Southerby's (or a similar site) as a rental property not unlike a VRBO. YT channel T&T did a video about this about a year ago. Then the home was taken off market but she screenshotted the listing.My point is, they never owned the mansion, only wanted us to believe the illusion that they owned it. Former Spotify client and "f**king grifter" Meghan is going to be soooooooo ticked off at the news that that a senior member of the Royal Family (Queen Camilla) is doing a podcast after hers failed ... on top of bad PR regarding Harry and Meghan from the last few days. Ouch. Harry would do well to hide out in a hotel for the next couple of days as I agree with other anons-- I think plates are definitely going to be smashed/broken in a certain mansion in Montecito.

Personally, I am dubious about the effectiveness of a podcast to encourage literacy, but if it works I will be very pleased. Literacy educators need all the help they can get.

I don’t tgink 15million is peanuts, the kardashians received something similar but they problem is that the Netflix deal Wa their main source of income but the Kardashian’s have other sources of income.

Either way, I’m curious how much they got for the book and podcast. It’s clear that they got a lot of money in the past 1.5 years but they’re not able to maintain that. The Spotify deal is dead, Netflix deal isn’t looking good and they got the bulk of that money already and I don’t see them delivering anything on the scope of the reality tv. So even if they are able to scrap a docu together, it won’t give them a lot of money.

I think they have plenty of cash but they need to sustain that kind of cashflow in order to continue to live as they do. But it’s prettty clear that they can’t, hence why they’re fighting for taxpayer security and the half in half out shtick.

The Kardashians primarily make their money through their businesses not their TV deals. The NF deal was the biggest money maker for the Harkles.

Also their overhead is insane, so 15 million of income means nothing if your outgoing expenses exceed what's coming in. Even the article points this out, and they don't mention the millions they spend in PR each year and their tax estimate is ridiculous. The IRS is taking 30-40% of the NF money cause it's personal income and not capital gains. That house alone is an albatross around their neck.

The lifestyle is indeed idyllic by any standards and included the purchase of their Montecito mansion in 2020 for $14.7 million (£11.7 million), with a mortgage of $9.5 million (£7.5 million). The potential mortgage payments on such a borrowing may run to $50,000 (£39,600) a month.

Although, Charles is hurt, as the parent he should be doing more to bring his sons back together but it’s a bit hard when they don’t even live in the same country

Harry is a grown man. What’s the King of the UK supposed to do, take away nearly-40-year-old Harry’s car keys and ground him until he comes to his senses? Show up unannounced and in secret to a mansion in Montecito on his knees begging and pleading for his son who has stopped caring and who has bragged about it ever since? Harry has been in the wrong since at least 2021 and he has not shown his only parent an iota or grace in the public eye since. It’s one thing to do things privately but Harry holds the blame for the way this entire thing has gone down (including the deterioration of his relationship with his father and brother) because he put it in the public eye. It’s on Harry to fix it.

Charles is extremely shortsighted to have squashed the bullying report for his own gain. I have a background in history as well as workplace investigations - these things will come out in one form or another. In the case of the BRF, it might not be in the next 10 to 15 years, but it will eventually be incorporated in his legacy. Catherine seems to understand that with her insistence that the “recollections may vary” line be kept.

William probably isn’t going to continue the royal protection when he’s King anyway. He’s already made a few moves now that shows he plans to cut Harry off/out entirely.

Harry (and Meghan) will continue to shine as BRF-adjacent for a little bit under King William. Harry will be invited to the funeral events. He might get a walkabout, depending on how old the Waleses kids are, but it won’t be his own walkabout and it won’t certainly be with the new King and Queen. He’ll probably get a photo with William for the “sons’ guard” of the casket. But once the royal mourning ends, whatever shine is left on Harry will tarnish very quickly as all the attention and privilege will turn more and more towards George, Charlotte, and Louis. By the time of William’s coronation - to which the Royal rota has already heard leaks that Harry won’t be invited at all - Harry won’t have anything BRF-related left at all.

No protection (metaphorically and literally), no access, no allowances, no inheritances, no communications. He’ll be fully exiled like the Duke of Windsor was, left to play his bagpipes “left eye, one tear, go” on the back steps of Montecito mansion thinking about all that could have been.

But that’s only if he doesn’t get back into the fold before Charles passes away. Which is why I think he’s pushing really hard now for Charles to intervene on the security lawsuit and may be trying to bait him with this trip to Colombia as some gossip is alleging; if Harry gets security or comes back “in” under King Charles, then he has a better chance at keeping *some* of it when King William rises.

But I think the fatal flaw in that plan is that Harry has totally underestimated William. He thinks he can emotionally blackmail William with “but you’re my bro, I’m the only one who knows what you’re going through” (the same way he tried to emotionally blackmail The Queen with “favorite grandson” and Charles with “don’t you want to see your grandchildren”) but William has already grabbed that “card” and dropkicked it off the Norfolk cliffs into the North Sea where Meghan’s singing seals have already eaten it. It won’t work.

And it will be fun to see Harry’s desperation escalate as he realizes he is truly really definitely done and dusted, over and out. If he ever were to turn on the Waleses kids, it would be then and it would 100% be the last straw for William. If he somehow hadn’t already blown his top at Harry and Meghan before then. Which, honestly, I expect that to have already happened. With Spare, frankly.

Anyway. I think I lost the plot here somewhere. I got a call in the middle of writing this and I lost my train of thought.

The Stench is REAL: Rotten Eggs + Reeking Weed Factory+ Bad Pipes = "It smells. Bad. VERY bad. VERY VERY bad."

The irony of bridezlla Rachel MEgain Markle kicking up a fuss over a one (1) hour "spectacle" inside the Queen’s "musty" chapel, only to acquire a 1st homebuyer loan for an odorous property.

"It smells like offal that has been rotting in the sun. It makes my stomach churn," a local from the Montecito area reportedly told The Mirror. "I’ve seen lots of homeowners closing their windows when it wafts over."
