inspired to post about yara's "faith" bc of one of those ask memes going around so. if anyone is curious.

yara does NOT believe there is anyone up there looking out for her. her devotion is ENTIRELY a larp and a cope, it just so happens that its a cope that she's clinging to for dear life. goes through the motions & clings to the aesthetics and yes she prays the rosary alone in her room and yes she begs her favorite saints for their intercession but she knows no one is listening and her prayers do nothing, but hey, reality is dismal and pretending is all she has </3

she actually doesn't really pray to virgo often because she doesn't know exactly what virgo is but she just knows it's not a saint and it's not a god, not as she knows them, it's definitely something worse— maybe it's worse because it feels tangible, that she can feel its presence, all the time. she's allied herself with this thing but she knows it doesn't care for her, not really. an apathetic patron and the lesser of the town's evils. her deaf saints are way more comforting than that very real thing. she only prays to virgo when she's like. REALLY desperate.

held off on posting this cutie since i wanted to get a render and short animation done, but once again i got carried away! a 3d model of Kulindadromeus as a late Kulinday piece. this ended up turning into some intense rigging practice learning IKs and such, and he still needs a polishing but i'm pretty pleased with how he turned out. Kulindadromeus was described 10 years ago this month!

I didn't talk about this but Masahiro Sakurai coming back to Kirby Air Riders is funny as hell. It was the last Kirby game he directed for under Hal Lab. and it's the first one he's coming back to for Kirby in 20+ years. Also the new logo is very Smash Ultimate esque, which is really funny because the original Air Ride inspired Smash Brawl's UI (I think? I know Melee had a similar design and was released earlier).

Whatever. Sakurai worked on the gauntlet that is Ultimate so whatever, go my scarab.

I hope they keep a similar grandiose vibe with the OST because it's honestly so iconic. I didn't like it as much as a kid when they used it in the anime, but I love it dearly now. The Beginner's Room is one of my favorite all time OSTs from Kirby.
