Halloween approaches, and so does a new yugioh AU >:) For a long time I’ve dreamed of a ghostbusters AU, and now you should also dream of one because a fic (loaded with chapter art) is coming TO THE INTERNET!!!

About Walter...

So we finally got see Walter Peck return in the latest trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. With this appearance, comes the reveal that he is still holding a grudge against the Ghostbusters after 40 years, as explained in his opening narration. He goes on to call them "hacks" and insist that there were no eyewitnesses to them saving the world, despite the fact that he was there when Mr. Staypuft attacked (and got doused in melted marshmallow goo afterwards). This is contradictory to Walter's redemptive arc portrayed in the IDW comics, which are no longer canon. I'm sure this will come as a disappointment to some who were hoping this aspect of the character would carry over to the new films. One thing I think we should understand is that Afterlife and Frozen Empire need to achieve the balancing act of appealing to both fans old and new, people with a deep understanding of the franchise history and casual viewers. You can't expect the average person to be aware that Walter was nice once because most of them haven't read those comics (or even know they exist). I personally believe Walter Peck is a character who can go either way and be interesting and entertaining as either an antagonist or an ally. For this movie, it seems the writers took the safe route and kept him as the jerk we all recognize from the first movie. On top of that, he's also a liar. Does this mean redemption is completely impossible? I wouldn't say so. He did make a valid point that what the Spenglers are doing is dangerous and illegal. As cool as it is to see Phoebe in the gunner seat, a minor hanging out the side of a vehicle firing a weapon IS concerning. Phoebe even partially agrees with him before her family stops her. Could Phoebe or someone else reason with Peck and steer him towards the path of working towards the greater good? I'm not sure, but I'm interested to see where his character ends up either way.

... I also hope the mini-pufts tie him to the floor like that scene in Gulliver's Travels because it would be funny as hell.
