She’s done!

So I guess this is fanart, cuz I named her after the ship from Star Trek: Challenger, the excellent series written by @alexkablob​ and @mylordshesacactus​. I’m really happy with how this turned out.

I made a special effort to get all the windows this time. Even the shuttle bay:

There are a few more things I could have done, but it’s all little stuff. I’ve improved on assembly, I think. There’s not as many gaps showing up, though I can still see a few I wish I had taken care of but ah, well. I do NOT want to get into the difficulty I had with the ship name decals. I had a better time putting on all those hull marking than I did a few lousy letters. But again, ah well.

Here she is alongside her successor, maybe? The Challenger Refit:

I painted the refit similar to the TOS Constitution. I like thinking that the change in materials leads to a more kind of ceramic look to the hull. And there are a few discolored hull panels because, well, the Challenger is just a ship that Goes Through It.

But ain’t that always the way.

NX - Serial Designation J

NX doesn't like J, since she threatens his position as superior, so he usually tries to win her and demonstrate he is superior, but never succeeded.

NX - Eldritch J

NX doesn't understand what this creature is, but it threatened him, so he has to kill it.

NX - Serial Designation V

She is good to kill with, since she has the same personality as him during "fights", but any other time she's just annoying and NX wants to be as far from her as possible.

NX - Uzi Daarman

She is more special than the other cans of food, but in the end that's all she is.

NX - Thad

NX noticed that this little can always comes back, so he likes to keep him arround, just in case he needs oil.

NX - Worker Drones

They are nothing more than food for him.

NX - Disassembly Drones

They are either enemies he alredy defeated or enemies he wants to defeat, since all of them "compete" for the same food.

NX - Humans

NX doesn't know they exist, since everytime someone talks about them to him, he just forgets.

Bikepacking is a wonderful way of travelling that combines cycling and camping. Bikepacking is a great way for me to experience adventure and freedom while being environmentally friendly and sporty. Compact packing keeps weight to a minimum, which makes riding easier and allows for greater flexibility. This allows the cycling adventurer to be able to cycle to remote areas and spontaneously spend the night in nature. Of course, one tries to limit oneself to the bare essentials for survival and well-being. And feeling good definitely includes a reliable tent for the nights.

When I go on a multi-day tour with my bikepacking bike, the MSR Hubba™ NX Solo UL has always been with me for almost 2 years. Over the course of the last few tours within this time, I have grown fond of it and it would be hard for me to exchange it for another model. The Hubba™ NX Solo UL has a super compact pack size and is therefore easy to stow in the bikepacking bags. The Tent is therefore light and efficient in both transport and use. From the optimised, symmetrical geometry and straight floor that offers as much space as possible, to the integrated and adjustable anchoring loops that ensure quick tent pitching. A year ago I also got the MSR Gear Shed, which adds another 2.46sqm of covered storage space to the tent. This adds another level of comfort and versatility to the tent. For me, this tent defines the term "light mobile living".
