So this is completely outta no where and feel free to ignore this but- In the scenario that Nadja didnt pass away from her disease and her and Gowthers relationship was able to grow from that passionate night- where do you think things would've gone from that point?

HELLO!!! JSJXJSJDN I love Gowther and Nadja sm!!!

-I fear he wouldn’t have an actual sin to have joined the seven deadly sins with due to her not dying but he knew Merlin and Meliodas so maybe they would’ve just had him on the team!

-Gowther wouldn’t have lost his emotions and he would be a ball of energy in the team!!! always happy to help and fight for them!!! Always willing to listen to anyone who needs help

-He had the time to properly emotionally mature and understand humans

-He always invites Nadja to their pub sessions after battle and he’s like “Hey guys this is my partner :D” and they’re like ‘how did he bag a fucking princess?’

-They get married!!!

-She’s always super worried about him when he goes off to battle and if he’s away for a long time she’ll send him letters in the post and they’ll write to each other

-She was 16 when she passed away and that was like 45 years before the main plot. She would be an old lady bless her. I like to imagine she would make things for the sins when they visit the castle

-Perhaps she is still too weak to run the country hence why Bartra took over instead

-During the point where they were traitors she had no contact with Gowther since she didn’t know where he was to send him post. He was able to disguise himself and sneak into Liones a few times to visit her but this would only be at least once a year. She would be taking care of the ill Bartra at this point too.

-She helps her niece Elizabeth escape the castle and go get help from the sins!!!

-She would be an amazing auntie!!! Due to the princess’s mother passing away she would be a de facto mother figure to them, having girl talks and ensuring they’re ok!!!

-Gowther is also an amazing uncle to the princesses before he gets exiled. He was always reading to them.

-When the sins manage to clear their name they spend so much time together to make up for the time they lost!!!

-Gowther adores how she is aging and thinks she is aging beautifully, however he fears the day she passes because he doesn’t want to live without her

-They dance a lot!!! She taught him many different dance styles

Favorite Manipulative Usurper Villains

Scar - While manipulative usurpers to the throne have been a staple of villainy for ages, nobody boils the trope down to its essentials quite like Scar does. The prideful younger brother of King Mufasa, Scar is bitterly envious of his older brother and his young nephew Simba who is next in line to the throne, and this envy turns into an obsession that has him turning to whatever underhanded and ruthless means to get them out of the way so that he can gain power over the Pride Lands. He colludes with the anarchist Hyenas whom he looks down upon, cruelly manipulates his impressionable nephew at several turns, and of course murders Mufasa in cold blood. And even when it's clear that his reign has turned into an unmitigated disaster for everyone, himself included, Scar still insists on clinging to power and staying set in his ways simply because, as he puts it, "I'm the King; I can do whatever I want!" While ultimately deposed by Simba and killed by his own hyena henchmen, Scar certainly didn't go down without a fight. To the very end, he embodied the mad, covetous tyrant.

Outside of The Lion King, Scar has had other successful outings. In things like The Lion Guard, Kingdom Hearts II and Mirrorverse, he's a force to be reckoned with - so evil that it grants him supernatural power! Other times he's just there out of obligation but does so efficiently, like in Fantasmic!, Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom and Dreamlight Valley. And then there's the 2019 "live-action" remake, which I would absolutely advise against seeing for many reasons, one of which being that all charisma has been sucked out of Scar. He doesn't even get to sing his full villain song, "Be Prepared" - one of the best villain songs ever!

Rosemary Applefield - If Scar represents an embodiment of manipulative usurpers, Rosemary Applefield from the anime series Ashita no Nadja represents a fresh and unexpected twist on the trope. It's not an actual throne Rosemary covets, but a position in a wealthy and influential family. It's not a sibling she backstabs, but a former best friend. And she isn't some born prodigy with any form of professional pedigree for her villainy...she's just an unhealthily obsessed 13 year old girl desperate enough to do almost anything to get what she wants. What makes Rosemary effective is how much she blindsides you. She begins as a background character, then receives a focus episode where she is presented as likable and sympathetic but with clear mental and emotional troubles brewing underneath given how seriously she takes her Cinderella complex, then joins forces with the main villain to bring down and supplant Nadja, and then finally supplanting the main villain himself as the primary threat that has to be overcome.....and in one last twist, she isn't overcome! For as much enjoyment as she gets out of deception, manipulation and turning the screws on poor Nadja, Rosemary ultimately decides it's not satisfying if the power she ends up with is something she took rather than something she created by her own hard, underhanded work and she just...gracefully steps aside and lets Nadja retake her rightful position. Zero comeuppance! She learns the error of her ways not after being defeated, but simply because she's really smart and because her evildoing showed her just what she was capable of regardless of whether or not she's a "princess". It's just such unconventional villain writing and I love it!

THE QUEST FOR THE ULTIMATE MURDERGIRL

What is a murdergirl?

A murdergirl is a character who:

Is female

Either commits murder, commits attempted murder, or directly or indirectly causes a significant amount of otherwise avoidable death, e.g. by starting a war, or knowingly allowing a preventable disaster to happen

The fandom for the piece of media they're from absolutely does not know how to be normal about them. ("[x character] did nothing wrong" vs "[x character] is the literal devil" type arguments, for one example)

(with the murdergirls I also think the girlbossification of their actions is also a common element, such as replying to someone listing the character's crimes with "good for her <3" or "god forbid a woman do anything 😤". that's just a personal observation rather than a requirement though)

So what are we doing here?

Simple, silly! Having found tumblr's official Ultimate Murderboy (congrats again Guillermo), we're now running a tournament to find tumblr's ultimate murdergirl!

(Before you attack me for you your fave not making the list: the list was originally nearly 50 before I narrowed it down to the required 32. Turns out tumblr is absolutely full to bursting with female characters who kill people who no-one in their fandom is normal about. It was very very hard but I did my best to represent as wide a scope of media as possible while still making sure people who absolutely HAD to be there were there. Baby Briar! eee!

Briar is the second heir and only son of King Gloxinia. He is not actually an heir, because the tree chooses the next king, so his title is "the young prince" or "the little prince." This continues into adulthood.

During the Battle 3000 years ago,, Briar escaped their family quarters trying to help his mother, saw some trauma, and got so scared he awakened his ability and ran off into the forest where he fell asleep for 3000 years.

He woke up during the battle of Liones, where Helbram used the roots of the Sacred Tree to fight Harlequin. It disturbed the underground of Liones, which is where Gloxinia's forest used to be (we know this bc of the Gowther Nadja episode). The tree he was in broke, Briar woke up, and eventually was reunited with Gerheade. He had a very difficult time accepting that his parents and big sister were gone.

Briar is always drawn with a red flower in his hair. Usually a poppy, sometimes carnations and roses. His name is a reference to Sleeping beauty, who also had a very very long sleep.

Baby Briar

he has the ability to grow and control plants, but every plant he produces is poisonous. Even if he grows a plant that is generally non poisonous, it will be poisonous because he grew it.

He's very clever. Think Baby houdini. he has escaped his nursery enough times for it to be concerning.

this is because Briar can float and this makes escape much easier.

His favorite animal is a frog. He once managed to lead several dozen into his room to make them his pets and his parents only realized that when one of them escaped.

he likes to help Faye get around, because she cannot see

his favorite food is berries because he can get them by himself.

his tantrums are bad. If he's really very upset, he will pull on his ears.

Thanks to Sage's genetics, Briar can eat poison and be fine which is fantastic because he's three and they eat paint if youre not careful

Older Briar

as an adult he has his own area of the forest and is fairly... uh, notorious among the other fairies because he has his father's temper and can only grow plants unsuitable for agriculture.

so, some fairies refer to him as "the Dark Prince," but he doesn't like that name.

His favorite plant is his giant flytraps-- he treats them like pets and they love him

he actually engages in trade with humans, supplying them medicinal resources (such as poppies for pain management)

he has large wings that resemble a blue morpho's and are about 1/2- 2/3s the size of Gloxinia's.

He has a positive relationship with King Harlequin, Queen Diane, and their children, though he doesn't usually like them coming into his space (mostly because it is dangerous)

He created a memorial for his parents out of a cottage they once used for Faye and Sage (safehouse). It was outside of the forest and still happened to exist.
