fun questions

1. what are 3 things you’d say shaped you into who you are?

hmmm this one's hard! i'm going to cave & say my family...my dad, especially personality-wise, & my grandmother really influenced my taste, mainly in the arts. my mom influenced me musically. all three encouraged me in my endeavors for the most part, despite some hiccups. my close-knit family has kept me a stable person in some respects.

8. any reacquiring dreams?

i take this to mean recurring? i used to have recurring night terrors, one in particular where i was at this run-down, grungy amusement park that was more like a large, abandoned fair, & i was stuck with people who didn't like me & would bully me until i was silent.

i dreamt of this place very often, & different nights' dreams would show different parts of the same place, with the same people, different rides, & sometimes the same dream of the same ride. i think i had this log-ride dream where the drop-off was in the dark about 6 times. we never made it out the other end. it would stay dark & people would be screaming in terror until i woke up

i also used to dream of drowning A LOT

12. what’s some good advice you want to share?

probably past-due advice for us, but helpful nonetheless: i was 20 & discussing what i wanted to do for my 21st birthday & my mom told me to "drink at home, it's cheaper"

15. what do you think of when you hear the word “home”?

oh, actually, a few different places & the memories attached to them...the place i'm in now, my childhood home, & my aunt's house where we all used to gather for christmas before everybody died. i'll send you some pics later if you'd like :D

18. do you believe in ghosts &/or aliens?

i don't believe in ghosts, actually. i know i've been haunted, but i refuse to be affected lmao. ever since i saw this person's video where they stated a lot more colonizers would meet their demise if ghosts had a claim on the physical plane. i have put some thought into it & come to the conclusion that ghosts aren't worth my time, really 😅

aliens would be awesome, however, & i look forward to their meaningful discovery!!

28. do you collect anything?

um i have shitloads of art supplies, paper, & finished works i haven't gotten my ass up to sell yet? if that counts 😂

33. any hobbies?

painting!! drawing, sketching! i also love singing, & i'm in a somewhat substantial chorus :D i would say it here, but honestly, i'm unconfident about my visage... *looks away shyly*

38. fave song at the moment?

you probably already know this guy butttt this song has really been stuck in my head lately lmfao & that's a wrap!!

eddie munson drabble

Word Count: 603 words Warnings: Angst... A/N: Where are all my maladaptive daydreamers at??? The song Shit from Inside is basically my mood today so I wrote this in like ten minutes just now. 😜

Being lonely was not an easy feeling to deal with. It's a physical reaction that curls in your chest and burns there, that nips at your heels and pulls at your brain. It sits with you for a long time and tears you apart from the inside out.

Eddie realizes the kind of day you're having when he lays his eyes on you, your face fallen in solemnity as you sit and stare idly at the television playing a movie you're not really paying attention to.

He does everything in his power to make you feel as safe and loved and close to his heart as he can, wanting nothing more than to remind you just how much he loves you, remind you of the fact that he is always going to be right there next to you. It hurts him so much to see you so upset, so crest-fallen as the ache of loneliness licks at your bones and pierces that annoying organ in your chest.

He joins you on the couch, pulling you into his arms without a word as he envelopes you in his warmth. You immediately sink into him, and when he asks that fateful "are you okay?", you break down and feel the tears aching in every fiber of your being.

You clutch him, holding him so, so close and smelling the cheap cologne permanently scented in his clothes. You feel his frizzy hair brush your skin, squeeze your eyes so tightly shut that you see white as you sob into his shoulder while he holds you. He doesn't shush you, he doesn't tell you how everything is going to be alright. He just holds you, rubs your back in soothing circles and lets you cry into him.

It takes a while for the tears to subside as you hold him closer. He rubs your back again and pulls away just enough to look at your face. "You feel any better? Or do I needa smother you in all the kisses?"

Your breath hitches on an aftershock of a sob and you just nod gently. In a quiet, broken, but oh, so desperate voice, you whisper, "I love you so much."

He smiles wide but empathically, kissing your forehead and making your heart flutter. "I love you, too, sweetheart." He places a palm on your cheek and brushes his thumb over the apple of your cheek.

You give him a watery smile as you hold his hand to your face. Your heart aches as you speak again. "I just wish you were real."

Eddie frowns as the words come out of your mouth and you open your eyes to find yourself staring at your phone, most definitely not in Eddie's trailer, sitting on his couch, and wrapped up in his arms. You find yourself with the absence of his stupid frizzy hair and his stupidly handsome voice and his stupidly beautiful smile. You find yourself staring at your phone on Tumblr reading a fanfiction of Eddie because being in the real world for another moment makes you feel like you might crawl in a hole and stay there for the rest of your life.

You stare at your phone, reading this passage and getting upset that this feels too personal and too relatable and preparing what you're going to say to me or what you're not going to say to me as that same sense of loneliness that you were meaning to escape creeps back in.

And then you start to cry. Only this time, you don't have Eddie Munson to comfort you. The author feels the same.

There are decent odds that at least one of these would be replaced by a mixed burned CD with the tracks written on the top in scrunched sharpie letters, or a "best of" from an older artist (Queen, Buddy Holly, etc.), or maybe the soundtrack to a movie (Shrek 1 and 2 were briefly contenders). And the burned CD wouldn't have its own hard case, so it would live in the CD player or the case of whatever was playing. Such a fun concept! Uhhh... so I'm almost 50... I had a shitty old truck... it did NOT have bluetooth... and I had one of those big CD binders that sat on the seat next to me, and I had my FAVs on a visor CD holder ... so the question is... is this 1994 again and you just want to know what I had, or is it 2025 and you just want to know what I would have now?!?!?!

huh... that didn't go the way I thought it would. I know I listen to a lot of newer/new music but... when it comes to albums, I really think the older stuff is where I'd go. The new bands I listen to really don't have strong albums because that's not where the music industry is. Sprints and Viagra boys being the two exceptions I can think of. Wombats and Foals are two others, but I don't know that i'd pick any of those OVER the ones I listed. Pip Blom, Tool, Puscifer, A Perfect Circle, The The, all have some good albums too, but once again... not over those.

This is why back in the day we had the binders. We NEEDED the binders. Long Live the Binders!
