This good dog is named Snoodles and they lived in the Nahanni with their owner for quite a while. Snoodles actually factored into some cryptid sightings. Those white pelts in the background of this image are from the Mackenzie wolf, the largest wolf, and that wolf contributed to a story of a Nahanni cryptid. Some people thought those wolves, and some people thought Snoodles, were a creature called a Waheela.
The Waheela, or Saberwolf, is a large, wolf-like creature said to inhabit Alaska and the Northwest Territories. It is larger and more heavily built than normal wolves, with a wide head and proportionally larger feet, and with long, pure-white fur. Native legends describe the Waheela as an evil spirit with supernatural powers and describe it as killing people and removing their heads. It has been theorized that the Waheela is an Amphicyonid (a prehistoric carnivore of the Miocene and Oligocene), a Dire Wolf (A large wolf of the Pleistocene), a prehistoric hyena, or a completely new species of canine.
To hear us talk about the Waheela and other cryptids and supernatural occurrences of the Nahanni, tune in to this week's episode. You can listen wherever you like listening to podcasts. I'll link our resource page below where you can see our sources and find a link to listen on Spotify.

34. Which film is the most visually beautiful?
So I'm super biased but I adore the visuals of Star Trek Beyond. The warp bubble animation just looks cool and the whole sequence of when the Enterprise arrives at Starbase Yorktown is so stunning. The setting of Altamid is gorgeous too (They were filmed in Stawamus Chief Provincial Park and Nahanni National Park Reserve in Canada).
I've included some screencaps from Trek Core bc I can
39. In your opinion what is the most underrated movie?
ughhhhhhh this is hard because I haven't seen that many films compared to other people, but I do love Interstellar. It's also very visually stunning and while you do need to concentrate for the plot it's still really satisfying when all the pieces fit together at the end.

This is a picture of hoodoos at Bryce Canyon in Utah. They are a good representation of what these formations tend to look like, so when we're talking about hoodoos in the Nahanni Valley, this is what you need to picture. What hoodoos are is tall, thin spires of rock that are formed by erosion over millions of years. The difference between Hoodoos and spires is that hoodoos have a variable thickness often described as having a “totem pole-shaped body.”
We don't talk too much about the geology of them but rather how they factor into the supernatural stories of the area. To hear us talk about this and a lot of other spooky things surrounding the Nahanni Valley, tune in to this week's episode. You can listen wherever you like listening to podcasts, and I'll link our resource page below where you can find our sources and a Spotify link.
