TV Shows - CSI: Las Vegas VI

The third season starts with two interesting encounters. First, we see Doug Jones at the poker table, who is not only very successful in Star Trek: Discovery but also plays Abe Sapien in the Hellboy movies (plus several other characters). He is the person in Hollywood you call when you need someone to portray a character in a full-body costume that needs to express a lot through their performance. Listing everything here would be crazy, but his IMDB list is more than noteworthy. We also see a relatively young Carmine Giovinazzo, who plays a relatively insignificant role here. He will later play Danny Messer from 2004 to 2013 in CSI: New York.

The episode where the entire team is scrutinized by Grissom was also one that got my blood pressure up. Yes, Grissom has communication problems, but the way Catherine snaps at him without knowing his motives and doesn't even think to ask about them is just rude. But well, that's Catherine for you.

There was also a nice moment between Sara and Grissom, I think also in the third season, where she asks him when he started paying attention to beauty. Without even thinking, he replies that he has been doing that since he met her.

A nearly equally beautiful moment is shared by Nick and Warrick, but already in the second season. Warrick pushes Nick away, but Nick doesn't let it affect him. When they both sit at the blackjack table, it's really emotional. Those are true bros!! And I like Warrick's hairstyle at the beginning of the third season!!

In "A Little Murder" S3E4, we not only see Mr. Johnny Cash himself (Linden Ashby) from the Mortal Kombat movie, but we also see an interesting murder weapon. I don't remember exactly what it was called in the episode, something with Z, but it was definitely a Nintendo GameCube that was released about a year earlier in Japan and the USA! How do you manage to include a current game console in a series without securing the rights? Like this!

In "Fight Night" S3E7, I was very excited about the beginning and that it breaks some expectations here. Because Grissom arrives at the ring, takes a quick look around, the music for the intro starts, and suddenly BANG the pager goes off, and it's off to the next scene! Plus Nick's first solo case, what a night?!

We've now also seen the complete redesign of the set, including all the glass fronts and the changed offices and interrogation rooms. In addition, Grissom keeps giving these one-liners that are sometimes really atrocious but also really good because of that!!

25. People Watching - Conan Gray

I know this song is about someone who wants to be in relationships like everyone else but is too scared to let people get that close, but I'm choosing to ignore that second part.

Remember how we talked about aroace Bobby? Yeah this is about him. Hearing all about the relationships of his friends, watching people on the street be in love, and he so desperately wants that too, but he just doesn't feel like that, and he's confused, so he just sticks with people watching, living the love through their eyes.

But because I am unable to write stuff without happy endings, he gets his too. He loves all his friends, Reggie as his best friend, and he feels like it should feel romantic for him, but it just doesn't. And Reggie shows him that relationships don't have to be like everyone else's, they can write the rules themselves, so they become queerplatonic partners, and Bobby finally experiences all the joys he was looking for in a relationship without feeling guilty about lacking the romantic emotions behind it.

71. Good 4 U - Olivia Rodrigo

I'm definitely feeling an angry Carrie song for this! We don't really see how the breakup between her and Nick happened or how it affected her, only little bits, but I don't think she'd take it that easily.

I'm imagining her channeling her hurt into writing this song, and it's very different from what she usually writes, but she needs it and she's kinda proud of it. And when she goes and shows it to her dirty candy friends, they all love it and fully support her, and when they all hug, Carrie finally feels some hope in the whole situation.

These are both so fun!! I really need to do something with aroace Bobby, I can't let go of him!

So the timeline is fucked. The current show was supposed to take place in 2019, but it takes place in the present day? Another sign that the writing is going down the shitter like every other adult animated show--they can't even keep their own timeline straight.

And I'm getting really tired of the show's continued reliance on blatant fourth-wall breaking and constant foul language--with the season finale ending with both. We've all gotten too old for that crap.

Hell, even Caleb is surprisingly swearing, even dropping the c-world like everyone else. This is American show, not a British/Irish/Australian show, enough with the edge already. And also stop with the Judd Apatow-esque misandry with the "all men belong in jail" bullshit. Incidentally, Judd Birch is also called Apatow here.

Andrew's never gonna stop being a mini-Harvey Weinstein and Nick's never stop being a punk-ass bitch. Is it really that hard for an adult-animated show to have somebody to root for?

Now that those peeves are out of the way, let's begin.

The characters are now in high school, and sadly we do have to wait two years for its next season. Which is even more sadly gonna be its last.

Caleb finally gets an episode to himself, and his and Matthew's friendship is the best thing. As someone on the spectrum, his nervous breakdown in the thrift store is harrowing to watch. Granted, I don't recall having full-on breakdowns in public places, but the feeling is still real. And he lives with his mom and is sexually active as well.

But he gets a last name (Linden, so that confirms that he's Dutch) but the Go-Gurt Burglar's name is the Go-Gurt Burglar?? I think he prefers to be called that because he doesn't like his real name. That's just me.

Also, I never was nervous while preparing for my freshman year... because I was homeschooled (because my mom didn't think I was ready for public high school yet) until my senior year, where I attended my only year at public high school with no problems. (High school was meh for me in 2009-2010. Those were the more simpler times.)

And Judd is caring towards little kids. Nice to know that tough guys do have soft spots. Unfortunately, no shirtless scene from him. Bleh.

The international episode was very interesting. Though the Puerto Rican episode about hair internally and personally disgusted me because my middle brother is a disgusting hairy animal whose chest is covered in acne scars and he always stinks up the bathroom because he can't be bothered to use the air freshener that is sitting on the sink for that very purpose. And he can't be bothered to shower every other day like I do, so he makes me physically ill every time he walks past me or even when he's in my eyesight because he's also notorious for being shirtless nearly all the damn time. I'm hairy myself, and as a result I prefer to do what I can to go hairless and I am also struggling to get fit so I can look like Judd and surprisingly Jay. My youngest brother, however, doesn't follow the same footsteps as us because he's transitioning.

But enough about my personal stuff.

I cannot believe this show's gonna end in yep years. I'm not ready. We're not ready.
