SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING BLUE, SOMETHING NEW

Two new horses has arrived at Black Onyx Equestrian today! First one is our new boarder, which coincidently also is a woman from our staff, Nicolette Anderson. The new horse is her own private horse, recently bought from Patchwork Rescue Farm before it closed down. Her name is Solvei, and she is an Iceland Horse.

As the horse already know some of our other boarders (Old Man and PRF Patches) I predict it to be easy to make her a part of the boarding herd.

The other horse that has arrived is a still young gelding with the name of BOE Kismet's Keener. He is an offspring of ours from years ago. As Luna BlueLake couldn't keep him anymore due to downsizing - and she has been his owner since he was a foal - we accepted to take him back to our stable.

Sunny was the first one to meet him. She is also the gelding's mother. As they met they seemed to kinda recognize each other. I am looking forward to let our other Shetlandspony, Kaki Golden, into the pasture too. But even if he is the sire of Keener, he is so very spicy, and not easy to introduce to new pasture mates, so that will be a job for later.

A few weeks ago I had an interview with a future staff member, a young woman named Nicolette Anderson, funny enough going by Cole, just like my family's surname. She is a lovely young woman at the age of 31, who was born in Australia, but when her parents divorced she moved with her mother and step-father to Denmark, where said step-father was from.

Today she had her first day at the stable, her contract began today December 1st, which meant picture day! We always take pictures of our staff for our website, so people who put their horse(s) in training with us can see who will be training him.

Even if Cole is from Australia and the weather is much warmer there than here, she seemed to have adapted to the cold quite well. She actually took off her jacket for the shoot! Brrrr!

Today she got aquanted with the horse she will be riding for the Hunt Show soon going on. Smarties, who loves everyone literally, took to her very quickly, and if the hunt goes well, then I am thinking about letting him and Saffron dapple a little in hunting.

That's actually why I ended up hirering Cole, because she had experience with Hunting as well! So I am sure they will be a good team! Now I just need to find a hunting experienced rider for Saffron, and we will be good to go!

Tomorrow we are having an interview with a very young female rider, and we will see how that goes. She has a little experience with Hunting, and actually has her own horse that she would like to board at BOE if she is hired, so that's exciting!

Then he ad libbed about falling a few times in the following scene. She Used To Be Mine was unreal. She had to stop before the last verse for applause.

This is the performance where the set broke and Sara Bareilles came out while it was being fixed. Jessie’s voice fits beautifully with the score, and she gives a gut-wrenching performance of She Used to Be Mine. Drew, Kimiko, Keala, and Christopher are each hilarious and endearing. Nicely captured with just a few quick dropouts and no major blackouts. There is one head on the left that can occasionally be seen, but it never blocks the action. There is some slight washout in some of the wider shots. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.
