But I wouldn't say it's his initial design that 'screamed' clown to me, it was more that it crept up on me. But I genuinely did believe that Lyle looked like/ was a clown for two months, my Clown Lyle era if you will.

I'm fine now but Clown Lyle was legit just me experiencing a self-induced Mandela Effect. TL:DR of it is that I misremembered both a line of text about kissing Lyle and something from a Reddit thread and that led me to believe that Lyle had a clown sona. A summary of what I can remember happened beneath the cut:

Okay there is an insane amount of lore behind this. But to cut a really long story short I basically gaslit myself into believing that

THIS image of Lyle was him wearing a mask due to misremembering the line of dialogue where Sam describes kissing Lyle as feeling like kissing a weird screen/ lens. I remembered the line instead saying it felt like kissing a weirdly smooth mask. And since Lyle's expression shifts completely I thought that his blushing sprite was in fact a clown mask that he instead made Sam kiss. This was back when the game first dropped so I would've believed anything at this point.

I also have this dustpan at home that looks like a clown (side by side pictured above) and because I took a two month hiatus from the game and only knew up to Day3/4 I only remembered this specific Lyle sprite. And since the idea of Lyle wearing a mask was on my mind, I associated the mask with the dustpan and eventually convinced myself into thinking that Lyle was a clown.

And something something, Lyle wears a mask because he doesn't want people to feel uncomfortable around him. Something something, Lyle used to be a party clown and photographer Pre-Visitor on the side and that's why he has the mask. Something something I saw a Reddit thread that spoiled Lyle's bossfight and I thought that Lyle dropped a clown mask. This was more or less how I knew Lyle for two months until I saw fanart of him of on here and realised that he is absolutely not a clown like I thought.

I swear there's more, like actual thousands of words more but then that'd just be so goddamn long, over goddamn Clown Lyle lore? I ain't doing all that. What's important is that he's now a revamped headcanon of mine. Now I just hc him as wearing a home made clown mask just so he doesn't scare people and because he doesn't like how he looks as a cursed person but he does like clowns. Not bugs though. I have a google doc breaking down my dumbass Clown Lyle Mandela Effect. It is one of the most batshit things I've ever written. The two months before I posted on here were genuinely dark times, Clown Lyle was the surface of that insanity.

I don't know why, but looking out the window is now more interesting to me than watching TV. Seriously, my windows overlook the main street, where a lot is happening: from some kind of crowds of dancing teenagers to public proposals.

And of course a bunch of couples.. No, really, there's a LOT. I don't even know what to think, I'm either jealous, or just don't like to watch them.. Probably, it's the first option.

But still, I guess it's my fault for my disability. If I were, dunno, some kind of ordinary musician who sings songs about love, I would not have been put in a trap. Jesus christ, that's sucks...

As gen-AI becomes more normalized (Chappell Roan encouraging it, grifters on the rise, young artists using it), I wanna express how I will never turn to it because it fundamentally bores me to my core. There is no reason for me to want to use gen-AI because I will never want to give up my autonomy in creating art. I never want to become reliant on an inhuman object for expression, least of all if that object is created and controlled by tech companies. I draw not because I want a drawing but because I love the process of drawing. So even in a future where everyone’s accepted it, I’m never gonna sway on this.

with love. you have to fact check shit. yes you. you still have to fact check shit. a lot of people are great at fact checking stuff they don’t want to be true, but somehow are still absolute ass at fact checking stuff that’s rhetorically convenient to them. even people my age, who I KNOW grew up doing internet/bibliography literacy workshops, and being warned not to believe anything that isn’t reliably sourced, people who DO harp on fact checking conservative output or whatever, are still kneejerk sharing unsourced shit that is partially or wholly untrue or misleading, because it suits whatever narrative they’re pursuing in that moment, without even a “take this with a grain of salt”. fact check!!!!!! look at the sources!!!!! yes it’s a drag!!! do it!!!!!

No wait, random worldbuilding idea:

A people who have an age-old tradition, that when warriors left home to go to war, their family that remains home prepare funeral goods for them while they wait, sewing them the clothes and preparing the tools and all that they will be buried with - to emotionally prepare them to the hard possibility that the one who left will not return home alive. If the warrior returns, their burial goods are all burned in a bonfire that is lit for the celebration of their return.

And to this modern day, mothers of the culture will tell their children "fine, but let me take your measures for burial clothes before you go" as a way of telling them that something they're about to do is lethally stupid. Sharing stories about just how dramatic their mothers are, someone tells their group of friends that his mother once actually took out a measuring tape to start taking his measures when he said he's leaving home for a work trip.

And another one goes "pfft, yeah. This one time I went to a rock concert and came back home to mom sitting on her sewing machine, fucking making me a funeral coat."
