Alright, about Shadow’s age, he was around 15-16 when he was cryogenically frozen. While he’s existed for 54 years, he’s still physically and mentally a teen.

Silver and Shadow can compete for who has the most scars. Also NB Silver ftw.

Hey look obscure characters. Ok so how this works is Sonia and Manic are twins adopted by Aleena, who is Sonic’s aunt. So they’re cousins. Sonic is a couple months older than them though. They don’t see each other often due to Sonic’s busy life. Manic is still a klepto and Sonia is interested in fashion. Sonia made their amulets after they lost their birth parents, a way to stick together even when apart.

you try to figure out a good time for the two of you to begin kissing or have your first kiss after it's been a while, since she took on more shifts at the hospital. you decide to sneak one in the morning as she leaves for work. blinking in surprise, she turns to you with a soft smirk and giving you one back. she tells you if you waited that long to kiss her, you should wait in her bedroom when she gets back. your mind races everywhere wanting to know what could she mean by that. she comes back home exhausted and sweaty it seems like, with fury and a teasing hunger in her eyes. you light upside as you see her creep closer to you. she's going to eat you whole with those eyes, and you let her; she deserves it after all her hard work.

she tells you from the get-go that she has been wanting and waiting to kiss you, but can’t wait any longer for you to say anything. you were taken aback, for sure, by how sudden and direct she was about it. she says it’ll be her first kiss as an adult because she believes the one she received as a child didn’t count (it was from a bully during her teen years, but she doesn’t go into much detail about it). another thing that surprised you is how gentle she was, and your commentary about it made her switch her approach with you. now she’s making you bleed under her control, of course. it’s as if she is laced you with venom, weakening you as she cups your head upward to face her more directly. there is a brief moment of eye contact before you see her close her eyes. does meeting your eyes make her nervous?

definitely smells of heavy smoke and musk from cologne, maybe even some Jäeger. that's the first thing you notice about him. you try to be polite so as not to piss him off, but your curiosity gets the better of you one day and you ask him why he smells that way. he says it's to cleanse his mind from remembering the war, and nothing further. he does mention a couple more things to you and tells you not to tell Silver about them because he's never told him - well, not yet, anyway. he knows that one day he will. you bring yourself to ask him how else he eases his mind from the war, which leaves him silent, so he has no clue what you're going to be offering him. he didn't know that you would be offering to kiss his mouth. the cracks on his shed away at yours, making them bleed. the taste of your blood equally frightens and intrigues him as he gasps, and the two of you break away.

you notice the shade of her lipstick and her very evident perfume; both are equally rich and seductive, reeling you in to be closer to her for the evening. she gets excited when she sees you. "Just the person I want to see," she chirps, clapping her hands together in a tiny applause. you help her with some tasks she needed done, and she gives you a kiss on the mouth as a reward. the lipstick stains your mouth, making her giggle about how sloppy her kiss was. she wipes some of it away before giving you an "eskimo kiss" (essentially a nose rub with her own). she spins around on her heel, walking the other way, leaving you standing there, almost looking like a fool with smudged lipstick on your mouth. you hurry after her as if you had no control of yourself. the two of you kiss more in the backseat of her car.

seems to be heavily focused on training the kids, which you find intriguing to watch. you say some excuse to keep watching. during one of their five-minute breaks, you ask him about how he would go about kissing someone, subtly hinting that someone would be you. he says he can lay down a pretty gnarly one, coming off as a brag, and you ask him to prove it, which he had no problem doing. he takes your face gently in his hands and lands one on your mouth. wanting to break free to catch your breath, he pulls you in further, slipping in his tongue to wrestle around with yours. your heart skips a beat when he does that; your face is rosy when he breaks it off. “I told you I could,” he says with a wink as he gets back to teaching the kids.

would wait until the perfect moment to strike, to plant a kiss on your mouth. he knows, you know, and both of you know what you’re wanting. none of you make the first move, just moving closer to the other. eventually, when the two of you are alone, you lean into the other’s embrace, staring up/looking down at one another. he smiles at you, nuzzling his nose on yours before planting a gentle kiss on your mouth. it surprised you, knowing how gentle he was with you. you can see in his eyes he was hungry for more but didn’t push for it. you wondered why, as he nods you off, but you wanted to stay. he told you to go before the two of you would do something you might regret in the morning. what was he doing?

teases you, getting you all rattled up so your mind won’t be flooded with ideas to kiss him. he knows you want to; he’s quite smart, after all, so he’ll know anything you’re thinking or something close to it. you find it creepy that he can get in your head like that and use it for his own gain. he’s a cocky bastard, that’s one thing for certain, but it’s just that he’s cocky, and oddly enough, you like that. it’ll be hard to decide if it’s the charm or the cockiness that’s getting in the way. the smell of his whiskey consumes you as he finally leans over, giving you what you wanted. “Are you happy, my dear,” he asks, finally feeling husked, his voice low. he seems tipsy, almost, but you don’t see a glass in his hand. the two of you look at one another before getting more passionate - or was it aggressive with the approach? you didn't know, but you couldn't complain much about that; the kisses tasted quite sweet, almost like caramel...

you're not certain what's on his mind, and you want to pick his brain, wondering what's inside. he doesn't seem focused on your whereabouts, though there are times when he asks where you could be. apparently, he had something he wanted to give you and hoped you'd like it, which caught your attention. you'll ask him about that after seeing him wrap up practice at Miyagi-Do. his eyes flickered with surprise that you would even ask. you watch as he smiled before crooking his head to line up with yours, slipping a kiss on your mouth. but that's not all - he also slipped a necklace around your neck. is this what he thought you'd like? it was rather adorable, and you said you did like it. “The necklace isn't what I thought you'd like - I knew you would - but the kiss… did you like it,” he asked, almost nervous about how you'd perceive it.

kid sidekicks in Sonic have been Sonic and Tails (teen boy/kid boy), Amy and Cream (teen girl/kid girl), Blaze and Marine (teen girl/kid girl #2) and Surge and Kit (teen girl/kid boy). 

If Silver gets a kid sidekick they will either be a kid boy (to be teen boy/kid boy pair #2) or a kid girl for the teen boy/kid girl pair we don’t have yet.

I like drawing them they’re my favorite character. This is just a little doodle so they’re not exactly how I draw him. I’d think in 06 theyd wear the shorts to be a bit more practical and stuff. But idk maybe theyd wear a skirt anyway. I like to give them glowy eyelashes if like to think they just subconsciously have a bit of glowy eyelashes just cuz they thinks it looks nice :).

OK TUMBLR WONT LET ME EDIT MY DRAFTS SO IM ANSWERING TWO ASKS FROM @reterols (thank you for your kind words I have read them and I also stalk your blog on a regular basis because sometimes being a Zanus shipper feels like you and me screaming about these two into an echo chamber)

A zanus headcanon(s) that make u giggle bc it's just stupid/irrelevant but it's definitely canon.

This one will be glorified story beats for a Very Specific Moment of backstory that I have thought of for actual months but cannot figure out a way to include in my story outline aside from minor references. Idk how fluffy/cute/stupid it is because they're always a little bit Deranged whenever i write those two, but im doing my best. It also gives me a prime chance to ramble about how the position of Silver Death actually works in my rewrite!!

Also this is really long so I'm putting it under a cut because I feel bad

Janus was 22 when Zane took the position of High Priest to the Church of the Divine, and a few months afterward, he asked them to join the Jury

However, Janus wasn't exactly content with just joining the Jury under any position, because, well, that would be some pretty obvious nepotism, even in O'Khasis

So, to prevent this from being an issue, they decided they were going to become the Silver Death

Many had tried to become the Silver Death since the death of the last one 17 years ago, and all of them had failed

This is because in order to become the Silver Death, you must hold a cursed object known as the Donmai that once belonged to Xavier himself

The Donmai is very dangerous, and if not handled by someone with utter devotion to something, it can cause insanity or even kill the attempted wielder. If the person trying to attain it's blessing is insincere, or not completely devoted and dedicated to whatever they are holding in their mind, they will go insane and/or die

Janus wasn't worried, they knew what was driving them forward in life, and the only thing that was giving them purpose

Zane was not so sure. He did believe that they cared for him and would defend and protect him with their life (they'd proven it several times over at that point) but he also knew that the Donmai had a super high bar to pass, and even the slightest waver in your resolve would lead to insanity

But they insisted, and if Zane figured that if couldn't trust Janus, who could he really trust at that point?

They prepared for the ceremony, and the people took to the streets to either watch the selection of a new Silver Death (hasn't happened for over 30 years) or watch another idiot die in a desperate bid for power (entertaining!)

The Donmai was brought out in it's elaborate protective case, everyone else wearing thick gloves and protective gear to let them handle it

Some people were praying to Irene or Eamonn or even Xavier for this to not go as horrifically wrong as all the previous ceremonies, the tension in the air was thick and nobody seemed to believe they could do it

Janus did feel scared at that point, they had never feared death before, but they didn't want to die like this, in a ceremony. They had always imagined their own death on the battlefield, or some form of combat

The time had almost arrived, and it was in front of them, just within arms reach. It didn't look particularly dangerous, but they knew better.

A tradition that took place just before the attempt to attain the Donmai's favor was for the High Priest to whisper an inaudible short prayer to whoever was attempting to complete the ceremony, they mutually agreed it would be a prayer to Xavier beforehand

But, when Zane leaned in to whisper the prayer, the words failed him. He couldn't think properly, so, instead, he said

“Don't let it take you from me, I still need you.”

And he pulled away, leaving their heart racing in their chest. All thoughts of fear or doubt vanished from their mind, all thoughts of anything but the man in front of them vanished. That was why they existed - they were for him, and they were going to prove it

So they took hold of the Donmai with obsessive focus, and their flesh burned at the contact with the cursed metal, but Janus hardly noticed compared to their own emotions and their heart racing

Holding the Donmai was unlike any experience they had ever had, it was like their whole body ached and burned and froze all at once, their good eye blurred with involuntary tears. The cursed object seemed to be demanding something of them, a reason it should let them live

And those words echoed in their mind - that Zane needed them. That was all the reason they needed for anything, that their life may as well be his, and they didn't get to die until he saw fit. That they were his, so, really, any pain didn't seem all that bad compared to the joy it gave them to have that privilege.

Suddenly, the pain stopped. And it was done. And they were alive, sane, and successful.

The people of O'Khasis cheered their name, the crowd in near hysterics at the blessing, thanking Irene, thanking the Divine, thanking Xavier

And Janus the Silver Death looked at Zane, and not even the mask he wore could disguise his joy
