while i get where this comes from and it’s true to an extent, i reeeaaaally don’t like how people try to explain “trans men don’t [necessarily] have male privilege” with things like “some trans men don’t pass”.
like sure that’s the most obvious example (someone who is seen as a woman won’t have the privilege that comes with being seen a man) but you’re still acting like being a passing trans man is just a free opt-in to male privilege which is………kinda the issue.

I will never be over Leo’s 4D chess play in “Many Unhappy Returns”. Like, just in general it is a spectacle to see this character who we’ve seen goofing around time and time again, who’s only sometimes decided to take things seriously, only to show him making a maneuver like that.
And here’s what gets me the most about his plan against Big Mama: he comes up with it on the spot. The second he sees that Big Mama has the solution they need, he’s already in game mode.
It is so satisfying watching the episode back when you realize his plan, because he literally sets the stage entirely for a decisive victory. He sees that the champion is a kraken, and comes up with both the solution to defeating it and a reasonable excuse to get that solution into the battle with them on the fly:
“Like your champ aaand those six guys. In fact, we don’t want this over too quickly. You should armor up those rookies. The whole shebang. Especially with these pointy helmets.”
And this is why giving him teleportation powers is perfect, too. He analyzes the battlefield and makes use of all the assets, moving pieces around to guarantee a win. It is honestly so impressive to witness and one of my favorite parts of his character.

what kind of cratures do you think the trigun gang would be?
CREATURES IN GENERAL OR SEA CREATURES. BECAUSE MY FRIEND MONTY N I WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT TRIGUN FURSONAS THE OTHER DAY. but i am the sea creature guy at heart so im gonns give u those i hope that is ok 😌 there are many benefits to being a marine biologist.
Vash: he is... so very shark coded to me. everyone looks at him and sees a dangerous killing machine. frequently covered in scars. do u see the connection here. he is specifically a thresher shark to me because of the whole sharpshooter thing and also the sad sad puppydog eyes 💙
Wolfwood: i am torn between two different types of eels for him. giant morays are more aesthetically pleasing but personally i have to go with a wolf eel both for the name and because ive worked with these guys before and theyre sooooo cool so im biased
Meryl: not technically a sea creature because she is just so bird coded to me. White-Tailed Tropicbird
Milly: is it cheating to have two cephalopods on this list. because i think i really want to say giant pacific octopus for milly. either that or a whale shark 💙 yes those are two completely different animals no i will not be taking criticism at this time
bonus Knives because i love him and i feel the most strongly about this one:
BOBTAIL SQUID.
... and also a bristle worm . for what i hope are obvious reasons

aubrey update!!!
doing the monologue in my standup class went well overall! i was very nervous bc 1. i'm not a standup person 2. this is the first time i said most of these jokes out loud and only the second time i've performed aubrey in front of people. my legs were literally shaking at first so i decided instead to sit down in a gay-people-sitting-weird-in-chairs way which felt MUCH more natural so honestly i think i'll keep it? might do some movement but like. how dare you make aubrey stand ze just wants to chat. if i can pin my wig nicely i might even dip upside down i think that would be fun
material got a good response! everyone said it was very tightly written like it's clear i've been writing this for a long time (and i have. i have like 200+ pages of aubrey material, these were some of the highlights). the chia pet thing didn't get as much of a laugh as it usually does when i bring it up in conversation but i think that was a timing thing. the joke that got the most laughs was the one i do about when uncle reg (aubrey's gay-uncle) says something about HRT being dangerous and aubrey's like "you did cocaine when you were my age" and it goes into a whole bit about comparing HRT to coke which is very fun. probably my favorite joke in the set but i was insecure if allys would be uncomfortable with the comparison, but since people liked it i'm like ok cool i can go even further in this direction.
main note that i need to work on was since it was so tightly written i wasn't giving the audience time to get the jokes (which is what led to there not being a ton of laughs despite people liking it). and that was definitely because i was nervous/not memorized (we didn't have to be for this assignment) so i was staring at my phone rather than at the audience. and yeah i really wish i was able to embody aubrey more and make it a more relaxed tone even with the tight writing, but that's a thing i'll work on throughout the class so by the end i'll definitely be more secure in it
tho honestly the most encouraging piece of feedback was like. any time someone does character standup the professor is like "awesome! now could you see yourself slotting that in between either regular standup as yourself or other character pieces?" (bc the final for this class is each person gets a 20 minute set at a local club) and honestly i can, but like. i have so much aubrey stuff and i'm so much more comfortable doing standup as zir than as myself (plus that wig takes time to put on correctly so that might be an awkward switch) and one of my fellow-standup-students went "i could actually see you filling a full 20 minutes with just aubrey. like this monologue felt like i was listening to the audio version of a sitcom" and oh my god that made me feel so good!!! aubrey isn't a one-bit character (not that there's anything wrong with one-bit characters since there are some of those in the other standups' sets), people wanna know what other stuff ze gets into and i can use zir to express all my other standup experiments!!!
so overall. nervewracking but i'm very glad i did it!! excited to eventually do my 20 minute aubrey set and be able to share it with you all

Ik i don't talk abt bnha much anymore (I tend to wait to binge read stuff anyway and do go thru phases of being obsessed then completely ignoring stuff for months to years until I remember I Like It, but admittedly I've lost interest with it a lil bit regardless) but like. I get baffled when ppl lump bnha in with 'crazy fandoms' or whatever. yeah its a big fandom and im SURE theres discourse the likes of which i could never imagine (I am very good at blocking and blacklisting tho lol) but. it was genuinely, for me, one of the MOST positive fandom experiences I've ever had! ppl were always very very nice to me and supportive and I used to get so many nice ppl leaving comments or sending asks, and it actually makes me a lil teary to think abt bc. I am a very shy person tbh! and I always kinda worried the type of content I posted wouldn't be received well, but it was always met with kindness, and even when ppl disagreed with me they'd stay polite and thank me for explaining why and it always stayed very civil? so its hard not for me to look back on it fondly.
like for whatever problems I have w the series or direction its taken my experience was OVERWHELMINGLY positive and idk if thats just because I was firmly in the villains stan camp or what but. very grateful for it idk I'm just rereading old reviews and getting very nostalgic and happy if I could make ppl happy with it bc it made me happy too ;w; ill always be fond of the lov and a lot of the characters anyway. I still care for them very much. whenever bnha ends u guys gotta lmk if they get happy endings bc if not I'll be glad to write a fix it fic 👍
