Hmmm watcher grian spiderverse? A pirate or Listener Martyn from the life series?

i decided to go with listener martyn, i will be drawing a watcher grian later tho lmao (i wanted to answer your ask asap, so you get a listener martyn and grian'll come later, hope that's good w/u)

i popped him into spider-canary's dimension, he's one of the other super-powered beings there-- but instead of him being a villain, he's more like a bit of a wild card who just pops up behind jimmy and chats with him, which gets jimmy very annoyed most of the time.

3. The Listener (aka Martyn)

The Listener is definitely a more recent nuisance for Spider-Canary; he showed up about a year ago and now just appears in random places where Jimmy is, annoying the hell out of him as well as spooking him away from his prey. Martyn likes to hang upside-down from buildings (which is where he most often gets the jump on Jimmy) as his powers are pretty much those of a bat's, so super-hearing (obviously), hanging upside down from stuff, being nocturnal, etc.

Martyn's outfit is obviously quite different to either of the spider-man designs I've drawn so far, mostly because he's NOT spider-man. So his hair is blonde, as you'd expect-- it's kind of a dusty blond, maybe even light brown. His blindfold is dark brown, the same color as the main part of his vest, his boots, and his sleeve cuffs. His sleeves themselves are a slightly lighter yellow than his hair, and that same color is repeated on his... butt-cape?? What's that thing called? Ah never mind, you know what I'm talking about. His pants and scarf are orange, as well as the button-strip in the middle of his vest. The buttons are about the same color as the vest itself.

Uh, anyway, Shane is actually besties with Sam (he'd rather die than admit it though) and they constantly do things to spite Joja and Sam can actually get a good reaction from Shane with some of his jokes. Sam and him were kind of awkward at first, but after a while Sam saw him at the saloon one day and went "HEY!! MY BUDDY SHANE!! COME PLAY POOL WITH US!!" so loudly across the building that everyone turned to stare and Shane almost sped-walked out of the place out of embarrassment (he def stayed and played pool but kept his head down to avoid stares).

Sam constantly talks about funny things Shane does and Abigail and Sebastian are like, "??? The quiet, grumpy town drunk??" But after Sam dragged Shane into so many pool games, Shane loosened up and started a tournament with the old arcade games between the four of them (he kicks everyone's asses at it) and now Seb and Abbi are starting to get it.

There's a competition between him and Sam on who can steal the largest item at Joja without getting caught (Shane has the lead with the pizza he gave farmer)

After Shane stops drinking, Sam is adamant on getting Shane to like joja-cola with him (he's not winning, unfortunately)

One time, Sam bet Shane that he could drink a 12-pack of Joja-cola during one break at work and threw up everywhere from the crazy amount of carbination it has (Even though Shane cried actual tears from laughter, Sam still owed him a pizza because Morris made Shane clean it 😭)

Shane will leave Sam maple bars in his work locker when Sam is having a hard time with his family and denies that it was him (Sam knows) His excuse when caught is that he and Jaz prefer the other donuts in the pack

Shane SUCKS at comforting others, but Sam appreciates the awkward conversation because it just means his buddy is trying to be a good friend.

They both run a secret page that basically makes fun of Morris by posting bad photos or just making a meme out of him

Because in canon his right knee is injured but since he's fae, it only hurt when it rains. Imagine how severe it was that for High Faes who barely have permanent injuries because of their fast healing, Rhysand still has this pain after centuries.

Now in this au no one really notices his limp because in any au, he always has his graceful movements but, you will notice if you look to closely.

My hair is dyed neon purple, so to keep it looking vibrant, I'll apply this really bright magenta conditioner to my hair like once or twice a month.

This shit REALLY stains my hands, so every single time I use it, I like to stand in the shower for a few minutes, staring at my hands in horror, pretending that I killed Optimus Prime or something.

so true we do. a match was cancelled and rescheduled due to inclement weather, which is fine, it happens occasionally. except, the reschedule interferes with your work trip, which is how yuuta ends up with your baby boy in his lap at his pre-match press conference. yuuta was worried at first, your son definitely wouldn’t be used to the cameras and reporters, and it was also seven in the morning, so he really hoped the baby wouldn’t become too irritated, but all his worrying was for nothing. 

your baby boy didn’t seem to the mind the cameras, or the large crowd of people, his father was right there to hold him through the entire thing. with them side by side like this, their similarities really show; their droopy eyelids and tired expression, the occasional slow blinking when they’re confused or in thought, the same nose scrunch that makes everybody coo when it happens. one reporter mentions you by name, and that makes the otherwise sleepy baby perk and babble “mama” into the microphone instinctively, which melts everybody’s hearts, yuuta’s included, “that’s right, baby, that’s mama,” he coos, pinching his kid’s cheek before returning his attention to the reporter, “but, yeah, my wife—she’s great. she’s away on work right now, and we miss her a lot, but i’m so proud of her. i got to speak to her right before this conference actually, and she said she’d tune in when she could, so i hope she’s watching—wait, sorry, um… what was the question again?” (his rambling off about my wife my wife my wife is not new. it happens in every conference and interview, he’s just a loverboy through and through). 

during the match, it’s dead silent when yuuta’s about to serve and then there’s the tiniest cry of “dada,” just as he’s about the throw the ball up, which makes him smile and stop and turn to his son, and the entire crowd coos. yuuta is not too proud to blow a kiss before going to serve again.
