i can't stop listening to the 'purpose is glorious' track from this season's ost and thinking about how lovely the title and its meaning are. it's just such an amazing underlying theme in this show, and - while i do have criticisms about some of the choices made for the series finale - i really do feel the writers wholeheartedly delivered in sending that message home. for me personally, loki's ending is so gratifying and a large part of that is solely from viewing their arc's conclusion with the perspective of this theme in mind. to have spent years watching this character i hold very dear to my heart struggle to find belonging, to feel as though they matter and there is reason in their existence, finally get a chance to show - and recognize - their worth was so, so rewarding. and honestly, i think the message behind the phrasing of 'purpose is glorious' is all the more meaningful because of how loki's arc finished. yes, the outcome was bittersweet; yes, we're left knowing loki didn't get the happiness they undeniably earned after everything they'd gone through. it smarts something fierce to know their journey up until they deviated from their timeline and became a variant, as well as seen their eventual intended fate. the ache is only worsened after witnessing everything that happens within the TVA and the entirety of loki's character growth leading up to a redefining moment where they willingly choose to undergo a nightmarish amount of time in the endeavor to do the right thing. of course we want them to emerge victorious when they've struggled for so long, but that's not the point. loki's final moments are them forfeiting their right to a happy ending to preserve the stories of others because all stories matter and should inherently reserve the free will to be written; as sylvie says, loki makes their choice so their loved ones and life across the multiverse still have a chance to belong somewhere and embrace their place in the world. the take away is that even burden can be glorious. even with all the hardships of life - all the inevitable heartache, disappointment, and grief we encounter just by being alive - we have meaning in our existence. there is meaning in the trials we face, and the suffering we endure in order to overcome them. our pain gives us purpose; it gives us the ability to love, to grow from and for each other, and choose to sacrifice our happiness for the benefit of another. loki's purpose was forged in the bonds of those they met in their time at the TVA and the sense of value they gained from their companionship. their sacrifice perfectly conveys how the human capacity to love is one of cosmic greatness, which can ultimately surpass our instinctual desire to preserve one's self. we can move immovable mountains and challenge insurmountable adversity in behalf of the ones we love and their welfare. if that isn't an act deserving of glory, I don't know what is.
tldr; loki's purpose is the friends they made along the way = as the saying goes, 'tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all'. or: our own lives have purpose because of the connections we share with others, even when we are met with great loss.

my take on ship discourse is that ppl should ship what they want but also you gotta be okay with ppl not liking certain ships for reasons you don't consider a big deal. and you gotta be okay with them complaining about it (outside of ship tags). someone not liking ships with age gaps, for example, does not automatically make them an "anti" or w/e, thinking ppl should enjoy whatever fictional thing they want =/= automatically being okay with it all yourself. i don't think it's that complicated

MINORS DNI
Murdock has a habit.
There are times, when he is particularly...frustrated by you, or the thought of you, he'll take out his phone and make a recording. So that way, maybe one day, you'll hear, and you'll see just how badly he craves you.
There are dozens upon dozens of these recordings.
Most audio, some video, hidden away in the corners of the file manager. At home or fresh from a kill…very fresh from a kill. Most of the videos are him in his car, growling and snarling for you, desperate to release the remainder of his animalistic urges.
Other videos, he has a certain apparatus to help him pretend it's you helping him. It's never enough, never as good as you will be. There is, of course, some overlap sometimes, but he is too harried in the first category to get it out.
Of course, it's a clear fleshlight; all the better to see just what he's going to do, how he's going to stretch you so perfectly. And he doesn't skimp on the sounds, no not all: he needs the reminder of just how wet he imagines you to be, needs you to be turned on from the sound, the idea that he's going to work you up that badly.
All the while, no matter audio or visual, no matter the situation, he growls your name and pet name(s), what he wants to do to you, how badly he wants you…but also he literally growls, exactly like a predator raring to get loose. To be set free onto that which it needs to devour. Until, with what is often a roar, he spills over his hand, or into the toy, shuddering bodily, huffing and puffing and groaning with more growling as he comes down from his high.
"Fuck…what a waste." He sighs, running his clean hand through his hair. "If only you were here to take it all, Sweetheart…just like the good kitten I know you can be for me." Sometimes, if it's video, it's high enough to capture his face; regardless, he fixes it with a burning stare all the same. "Such a pretty little mess I'd make of you." He laughs, breathless and hungry for more. Mostly to himself, he mutters, "All in due time."
End of recording.

ah to be neurodivergent and fixating on a series that isn’t exactly popular anymore and keep going to find new content but instead continuiously finding ones you’ve already seen before and you have to rely on yourself to make the content and

And another because I just realized one thing about this stupid alien and it’s probably not quite right but it’s really funny because it does seem like something he’d do.
So, common knowledge, Sym enjoys human culture.
Videos, music, most likely books.
So here’s my take on how this ties into how he looks kinda odd (except for the colors, I cannot defend purple skin with this).
So Sym is tall, he’s slender, lanky, looks delicate, just a bit off from actual human design but very close.
You know what else he’s got going?
Pointed ears.
What if this guy decided to model his “human” avatar after these thousands-of-years lifespan humanoids that he found in human media. Completely missing that elves are, in fact, not real. But given that Tonin was one of the people who, you know, actually went outside at the start of the game, it was an easy mistake to make.
