oct' 10 x oktoberfest
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Prompt: oktoberfest Pairing: sequins!joel miller x f!reader Word Count: 512 Warnings: alcohol, food & an insinuated suggestion of spice Summary: a slice of ocktoberfest with joel while you're there to play wing-man for tommy - had been really tempted to go with Dieter, but I think it would have been too easy an option.
x. masterlist
Tumblr media
“Remind me why we’re here again?” you asked as you tore into your soft pretzel, popping a piece into your mouth.
Joel frowned when you overlooked the artisanal mustard it’d come with, “Tommy,” he replied as tore a piece off for himself and dipped it liberally in the mustard, popping it in his mouth before it could drip onto his shirt.
Your brows furrowed in a look of exasperation at the theatrical antics to get the food into his mouth as you chewed. He shrugged a shoulder with a smug look on his face in response.
Joel took a sip of his beer, “This isn’t too bad,” he passed the plastic cup to you for you to try it.
“Not bad,” you commented as you handed it back, “so Tommy?”
Joel nodded as he finished his second bite of pretzel, “Some girl.”
“That’s right, the one at the bar?” you asked as you savoured the radler Joel had brought you back, the lemon mixed with the lager was refreshing in the Texan heat that didn’t get the memo it was now fall. “The one he’s been chasing?”
Joel nodded, “The one from the bar.”
Tommy had been smitten with a waitress at his regular hangout for weeks now. She was working at the Oktoberfest event happening in Austin, and Tommy had all but begged you and Joel to come along and play wing-man and wing-woman.
“He really wants to impress her, and we're just here to help smooth the way,” Joel said, his eyes scanning the crowd, likely looking for his brother. “Plus, he thinks it'll be less awkward if we're all here together than just him.”
“Ah, the age-old strategy of hiding behind your more charming, more attractive older brother,” you teased.
Joel rolled his eyes, not one to take a compliment. However, you didn’t miss the slight smile tugging at the corner of his lips. He dipped his mouth down to meet yours, and the kiss was laced with hints of beer and salty pretzel. His lips lingered on yours, sending a warmth that spread through your body.
You were both interrupted by the clinking of beer steins and the lively sound of an accordion. You looked up in time to see Tommy walking toward you, but your eyes widened when you spotted the waitress from the bar behind him. She was dressed in a traditional Dirndl, which made her look even more adorable. A tray of beers balanced in her hands.
Joel leaned closer to you and whispered into your ear, “You should get one of those dresses before we leave.”
The comment sent a warm rush to your cheeks. You knew he was teasing, but the implications of his suggestion and he feel of his hand at the top of your thigh made you shift in your seat.
“I’ll consider it if you get some lederhosen,” you whispered back as the waitress set the tray down on the table, Tommy dispersing drinks.
“Deal,” he said, lifting his cup in a mock toast and offering you a roguish wink.

Food & drink places we visited on our trip, September 2024.
Richmond, VA
The Answer: always a favorite of ours, love their beer and the Vietnamese food offerings. Seating was fairly normal for breweries (meaning not the most comfortable).
Raleigh, NC
Aunt Betty's Gin and Absinthe Bar: Highly recommend if you like cocktails/liquor. They have a lot of amari, and the bartender let me test some liquor that I had never tried, like Malort; she also gave me great bitters recommendations, and also made me realize how much I need Allspice Dram. Seating: comfy chairs/sofas, but lower to the ground.
Brewery Bhavana: Beer was decent but the Shanghai-style mooncakes were *chef's kiss*. The used bookstore/restaurant/brewery theme was interesting. Seating was fairly normal, not very comfortable.
Gas station in South Carolina
Oreo Coke Zero: I'd give it a 4/10
Atlanta, GA
A Mano restaurant: Highly recommend. We made reservations before our trip because they offered amaro flights, and their Italian menu looked delicious (it was). I had two flights, all amari that I have not tried previously. Seating was comfy.
Halfway Crooks Beer: A+ music, nerd rock that the husband and I loved). I wasn't as interested in the beer but the husband enjoyed them. The ambiance was great, really liked the feel, but seating was cheap/uncomfortable.
Big Softie ice cream: Well worth a side trip. Delicious with the cornflake crumble on top.
Birmingham, AL
Dreamland BBQ: The classic white bread and ribs. I ordered the Rib "sandwich" (spoiler alert: not really a sandwich) and it was very tangy. Seating was standard, not that comfortable.
Monday Night Brewing: Visited this place during a tornado watch (hurricane/tropical storm Francine came through). Very windy night. I really liked the Oktoberfest beer, had a bit of honey flavor. The food was pretty good, too (Mexican-ish). I liked that they were holding an event the night we went for women in tech. Seating was fairly normal, not very comfortable.
Hero Doughnuts: Recommend! They had apple cider donuts already! I got two, plus an apple fritter. The husband got the three filled ones. I am always on the hunt for great fruit fritters, with the right fruit/dough/crispiness/glaze ratio. Hero's fritter was pretty good, I give it 7/10. The apple cider donuts were better, though, and really tasty two days later (we took the donuts to go as we left Birmingham for Asheville). I could go on about my donut quest but I'll stop here.
Asheville, NC
Eda Rhyne Distillery: I insisted we go here once we got into Asheville, since I'm always on an amari journey. Had two flights of their spirits and purchased three: Amaro Oscura, Rustic Nocino, and Bitter Tooth. Eight tasters of hard liquor without any food other than a donut was a bit much, I haven't felt tipsy like that in so long. So we headed to
Burial Brewing Forestry Camp Taproom: for dinner (and ok, a cocktail for me). Delicious pastrami sandwich hit the spot. Seating was fairly normal, but at least not those terrible ice cream parlor-type chairs.
DSSOLVR: Seating was slightly more comfortable than the usual fare, and I liked the Emo Nightmare beer.
Wicked Weed: Final meal in Asheville was at Wicked Weed brewing. I had just one cocktail, husband had four half portions of their beer. I'd rather wax lyrical about their shrimp and grits omg it was so delicious (also too salty, but man, so delicious). Now I'm obsessed with making the grits with a roux-based gravy - I always forget how much I love grits.
(not pictured: the very Southern spread and drinks prepared by my friend when we stopped by to hang out at his house in NC - and thanks to him, I am now obsessed with peppadews).
Suffolk, VA
Decoys Restaurant: Cocktail was meh, something in it tasted spoiled to me. However, their crab and corn chowder was so delicious, I would 100% drive back there to have it again.
Sojourn Fermentory: We specifically stopped in Suffolk just to try Sojourn, because one of the owners is one of our neighbors, and owns a Taiwanese Street Food restaurant near us. I was sad they were out of their Asian Glow collab, but the beer was decent, and I liked their dark lager a lot.
Bonus items we brought back from the trip.

[Since the Valar relationship hcs were so much fun, here are my hcs about how everyone's wedding went - or how they would've gone if they had taken place in Arda. Most of them were already married when they descended, it seems]
Manwë & Varda
The classic, traditional, super expensive wedding, everything in gold, silver and white and everyone was invited -
Except Melkor. Manwë wanted him there, of course, but Varda secretly assembled a task force comprised of Ulmo, Tulkas, Oromë and Yavanna, telling them that Melkor was under no circumstances allowed anywhere near the wedding party
Ulmo was the best man, Eönwë, Ilmarë and a few more Maiar were selected to be groomsmen and bridesmaids and Námo officiated the ceremony
Everything went fairly well. Manwë was a little sad that Melkor "couldn't make it", Ulmo was a just a tiny bit jealous of Varda, Nienna cried and Irmo slept through the entire ceremony, but the rest was fairytale-perfect
Melkor was pissed that he didn't get to crash the wedding, but all he managed to do was sneak in after everyone had already left and steal the last piece of cake
Aulë & Yavanna
Yavanna took over most of the organization after Aulë got tired of attempting to have opinions on things
They had a beautiful fairy-themed forest wedding, though Aulë was a little late due to his tendency to forget about everything around him when he's in the forge. Also his outfit was slightly glittering because of some persistent metal dust he couldn't manage to get rid of
Nienna and Vána provided the happy crying for the ceremony while Irmo was, you guessed it, happily asleep in Estë's arms
When everyone got slowly drunk later Aulë quietly admitted to Manwë that he was sad about some of his Maiar missing, especially Mairon
Thankfully Yavanna didn't make him sleep on the couch that night, however she might've done so if he had managed to invite Mairon and his other fallen Maiar
Melkor was explicitly not invited
Oromë & Vána
Vána went all out and created the greatest bouquet Valinor has ever seen. she also conspired with Oromë to have Nessa catch it, resulting in poor Nessa getting nearly buried under a mountain of flowers when Vána threw it at her
Vána's dress was absolutely gorgeous. She'd spent weeks creating it together with Vairë
There was a small amount of controversy leading up to the wedding when Námo refused to let horses inside the cathedral. In the end Oromë begrudgingly organized a carriage for himself and Vána, choosing Nahar and a few other horses to pull it, and agreed to leave them outside
Nienna and Irmo remained consistent in their behavior during the ceremony. This time Yavanna joined the crying efforts as well, as did, to everyone's surprise, Tulkas
The food was great thanks Oromë's and Vána's Maiar going above and beyond
Melkor was explicitly not invited
Tulkas & Nessa
Things got a little hectic when Tulkas showed up in sweaty gym clothes and had to be sent back home to shower and change
Thankfully this incident remained without consequences since Nessa was also late due to last minute dancing practice. Everyone was relieved - except Námo who was slightly miffed about the whole situation, but had foreseen it and brought a book as well as a pillow for Irmo who was, you guessed it, fast asleep after 5 minutes
Nienna was slightly surprised to share her tissues with Oromë and Vána this time, but didn't ask any questions
The afterparty was basically Oktoberfest. Tulkas and Oromë got black-out drunk after ungodly amounts of beer and fell asleep
Nessa had no issue continuing the dancing alone. Vána joined her later and the two danced the entire night
Melkor had no plans to show up but wasn't invited either way
Námo & Vairë
Despite Manwë's vehement protests and several offers to help organize something else, Námo wanted a simple courthouse wedding and Vairë agreed since she isn't too fond of big events either. Only the Valar were invited to keep it small
Manwë - who had been tasked with officiating the ceremony this time - was determined to make it special anyway, whether the couple wanted to or not, and prepared a big speech about family and romance
While Námo glared at him the entire time for unnecessarily prolonging the ceremony, Vairë knitted a shawl around the two of them. Everyone thought it was super cute and Nienna and Irmo claim to this day that they saw Námo blushing and tease him about it
Irmo brought a slightly suspicious bouquet from his garden for the couple. No one knows exactly what kind of flowers were in it, but they emanated a very soothing smell which ensured that almost everyone fell asleep during Manwë's sermon. Ironically Irmo himself was awake for the entire ceremony since he was very excited about his brother's wedding
The afterparty ended abruptly when Námo kicked out Tulkas and Oromë for getting too drunk and scaring the fëar in his halls
Melkor was explicitly not invited
Irmo & Estë
Irmo and Estë chose a fairly casual and unorthodox ceremony, refusing to listen to any criticism from Manwë or Námo
Despite Irmo's protests, the suspicious flowers he had brought to Námo's wedding were removed from the location by Yavanna and Vána on Manwë's orders; however Irmo managed to sneak in a few of them anyway
Nienna cried a few tears of joy and couldn't stop smiling. Some say they saw even Námo smile just a little
Oromë and Tulkas made a betting pool on whether Irmo would manage to stay awake for the entire ceremony and afterparty. Nessa, Vána, Yavanna and Aulë joined in as well.
The afterparty went down in Valarin history as one of the craziest nights they ever had, ending in everyone passed out on the floor, Valar and Maiar alike. Some claimed later that they had seen purple petals around the infamous but incredibly delicious punch Irmo prepared
Estë was kind enough to help everyone through their hangover
Melkor was actually invited, but didn't deem the event important enough to crash it
Melkor & Mairon
Manwë was explicitly not invited and neither were the other Valar except Nienna. He attempted to get in anywayk but Melkor had been smart enough to give him the wrong date
Mairon went full bridezilla mode and several people were burned to a crisp before, during and after the wedding for major to minor mistakes
Melkor enabled this behavior in an attempt to fulfill his fiancé's every wish and showered him with gifts as well
Gothmog was supposed to officiate the ceremony, but accidentally burned the script. Thankfully Thuringwethil was able to step in and take over
Melkor wore black to no one's surprise. Mairon wore red and gold. Even the Orcs were gushing about how great his outfit was - yas king slay
There was also a lot of discussion about how cool their wedding rings looked
The afterparty basically turned into the greatest metal music festival Middle-earth has ever seen as Melkor took the opportunity to showcase his music to a large audience. The centerpiece was a full Ainulindalë remix
According to eye witnesses, he and Mairon were on the dancefloor for hours and their moves looked like life-threatening activity, both for themselves as well as the people around them. Collateral damage was reported
After the party the two dark lords retreated to their bedchambers and weren't seen for days. According to rumors, Mairon's first project after coming back to his forge was repairing the bed

if you don’t mind me asking, what made you want to learn german? :D
Sure! I don’t mind at all!
My family is mostly German (and Yugoslavian) and immigrated to the USA in the 1950s and helped start one of many German-American clubs that are still around today! I grew up in the club where we learned basic German, dancing, and hosted festivals and events every year like Oktoberfest and Kirchweih and Beer & Brats. I actually am still in the dance group today, it’s been 26 years since I started as a kid!
I took German all through school (only 5 years of world language were offered in my school in the states here sadly) and went to Germany in 2010 (mostly spent time in Bavaria). I also went back to Germany 2 summers ago and did a small road trip through the north from Berlin to Hamburg. I think it’s a really wonderful place and a fun language to learn and useful!
Also, when I was living in China, I found out there is a mostly German city in China (Qingdao) which is one of the biggest beer producing cities in the country!

Festive Fall Wedding Ideas
Tumblr media
Fire Up the Fondue
Served with apple and pear pieces and sliced baguette, cheese fondue makes for a hearty (and interactive!) group appetizer at the start of dinner.
Tumblr media
Try Fresh-Picked Placecards
Clove-adorned apple place cards are such a seasonally appropriate way to welcome guests to their seat. (Added bonus: they smell great!) To create, draw your letter on paper, cut out, and tape to an apple. Using a straight pin, lightly prick along the outside of the letter, “tracing” the outline onto the apple. Remove the paper, and push cloves into the apple, staying within the outline.
Tumblr media
Decorate with Dried Wheat
This pretty neutral strikes a sophisticated, textured feel for fall weddings. Try it in a pair of welcoming wreaths at the entrance to your ceremony or reception.
Tumblr media
Serve Pretzels as a Late-Night Snack
Honor Oktoberfest with a late-night snack display of soft pretzels. Pro tip: pair with an assortment of German mustards (try Löwensenf and Alstertor) for a bout of tangy taste-testing.
Tumblr media
End the Evening With Hot Apple Cider
A spiked apple cider cocktail is the perfect way to cap off your event. Pair with apple cider donuts or pear fritters for a sweet send-off!
Tumblr media
Drippy Candle Cake
Layers of melted white chocolate is the secret to these multilayered drippy candle cakes, which will add just the right touch of spookiness to a late October wedding. Birthday candles—inserted almost flush with the tops of the cakes—mimic the candle look.
Tumblr media
Set a Cozy Scene
Chippy furniture, apple crates, and rustic ladders are the perfect pieces for setting a rustic tone for your fall wedding reception. Use the antique finds as furniture in the decor focal points of your evening, such as a dessert or drink display.
Tumblr media
Offer Cozy Blankets
As the evening starts to cool, encourage guests to help themselves to wool blankets scattered throughout the reception space. (This will be especially appreciated if you're celebrating outdoors!) Show off your love of of all things vintage by nestling the blankets in antique picnic baskets.
Tumblr media
Set Up an Apple Toss
For an autumnal cocktail hour activity, set up an apple toss game on the lawn. Gather an assortment of vintage produce baskets in various sizes and designate different point values for each vessel. For game pieces, set out a few ready-to-be-tossed pieces of produce in two different shades (red and green, naturally) so that it's easy to keep track of points.
Tumblr media
Serve Pie for Dessert
Not feeling a fall wedding cake? Serve up delicious slices of pie for dessert instead.
Tumblr media
Add in Plaid
Plaid is the perfect pattern motif for a cozy fall wedding. Add in touches of the pattern on your tablescapes and in paper details, such as your invitations and escort cards.
Tumblr media
Dress Your Bridesmaids in Velvet
The rich texture and subtle sheen of velvet bridesmaid dresses make them a great way to celebrate fall in your wedding fashion choices—especially when you opt for a seasonally-inspired hue such as copper or taupe.
Tumblr media
Ride a Tractor to the Ceremony Site
If you're marrying on a farm, why not take advantage of the equipment? A tractor-driven hay ride is the ultimate country way for you and your bridesmaids to arrive at the ceremony site.
Tumblr media
Wear a Tweed Suit
Grooms and groomsmen, take note: It's okay to have fun with your fabric! A tweed suit or blazer will help keep you warm at an outdoor celebration, and will also help you get into the autumn spirit.
Tumblr media
Use Leaves to Show Off Your Rings
It's practically sinful not to incorporate the stunning, color-changing fall foliage into your wedding photo shoot, but think outside the box. The photo of wedding rings resting on fall leaves is stunning and truly delightful.
Tumblr media
Opt for Simple Fall Table Linens
Minimalism and fall marry well with this cool table contrast, made possible by rust-colored napkins against white plates and tablecloths.
Tumblr media
Serve a Hot Toddy as Your Signature Drink
And for your signature drink, you can't get any cozier than a hot toddy featuring your favorite bourbon or whiskey. For favors, you could gift guests miniatures plus the recipe for them to re-create at home.
Tumblr media
Set Out Pumpkin Seating Cards
Upon arrival, guests are welcomed by festive pumpkins directing them to their seats.
Tumblr media
Choose a Naked Wedding Cake
A semi-naked wedding cake is the perfect end-of-the-night treat for a rustic fall wedding. Adorn with deep red fruits and serve alongside apple cider donuts for an extra festive look.

OKAY IM ABOUT TO START SPEAKINGGGG
the fact they're still doing staggered teasers is INSANE behaviour. it's august 24th, and if we assume there's going to be 7 or 8 attractions this year (3 mazes, 3 zones, a show, and possibly a roaming team) even if they were dropping one announcement a day that would put them at august 31st-september 1st for announcing the whole lineup - but the kicker is - They Don't Drop A Teaser Every Day.
let's live in a world for a second where they do drop a teaser every day for the next week. that still leaves the park with only seven days to drum up excitement for oktoberfest, which is any uk park's least attended event simply because it happens in september - which is a low foot-traffic month to begin with. plus, oktoberfest at merlin parks is famously underwhelming -- i've never felt the urge to go to an oktoberfest event and i'm the freak that i am. maybe it's of more interest to the general public than it would be to me (or even your standard enthusiast) - because of the beer - but the fact is that oktoberfest is simply the least engaging of the 4 events tpr are offering this year - there's no exclusive food offering, very little entertainment (carnival and mardi gras have shows, fright nights has the scare attractions, oktoberfest may have like. an oompah band.) there's not even extended opening hours - a smart business decision by tpr, yes, but one must wonder if it would draw more people in - perhaps an evening crowd would be enticed if there were extended hours, people coming after work or school to enjoy the 'vibes' and a coaster or two. but, i digress. all of this is to say - oktoberfest needs all the help it can get. leaving it with only seven days of devoted social media attention, especially after the buzz that would be caused - at least in the enthusiast community - by the fright nights lineup announcement.
whatever the play is here, it's wild, and it does disservice to what could (potentially) otherwise be an event just as exciting as carnival or fright nights, if it was given the right amount of attention and marketing. i love the staggered fright nights teasers (and i hate them, it's a double edged sword), but it must be drawn into question whether - with the lineup announcement being made such a big deal, as it has in recent years since ka productions started leading the marketing - they are unintentionally erasing oktoberfest from the public conscience, and whether, were the timings handled differently, oktoberfest could thrive and not just serve as something to tide over the ents team between summer and halloween.

Art aficionados 🤝 Autumn lovers… we’ve got just the event for you. Join us in the Sculpture Garden on October 8 from 3–8 pm for Oktoberfest. Sakhmet, pictured here, was the daughter of the ancient Egyptian sun god Re. In her role as a protector, she defended Egypt from all enemies—typically through violence that led to an unquenchable blood lust. Her violence was believed to be so relentless that she had to be placated with offerings like beer dyed the color red to resemble blood. Inspired by Sakhmet’s taste, we’ll celebrate craft beer, community with the iconic Bed-Stuy bar Bed-Vyne Brew and have an opportunity to revel in ancient Egypt with a tour from curator, Yekaterina Barbash. 🎟 https://bit.ly/3RkgAs5

Wolfscon 2023
Another little Travel Blog... well.. "travel".. it was a local con for once.
I just learned about the Con last monday and decided to attend it. It was held in a mall in one of the bigger cities in my area, completely for free.
Wolfscon - 30th September 2023
Tumblr media
Weirdly enough the day started with me dressing up at home, I had time to do the make up and all as I wasn't even driving. I asked Mom to come with me as she loves to stroll around and well I just dislike to drive with wig/make up and therefore she helped out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After a short driving time we arrived in Wolfsburg. The big thing was: there was a football game happening and Oktoberfest in the city and I was a bit anxious if things would clash. But gladly we exactly left as the match was over later on and the Oktoberfest was busy in the evening but still okay as we went a bit into the city. phew.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The main stage was placed in the basement of the mall, you had some different events happening there like an interview with voice actors, bands playing, a quiz, the cosplay contest etc.
Then you had two little artist/merchandise isles a level up with different vendors. There was regular merch from comic shops, Manga, but also artists with their own products, it varied a lot from anime/manga heavy to fantasy jewerly, to pins, cosplay props, art prints, cosplay prints and more.
Then you had some booths were you could take photos in front of backdrops and some artists advertising their work (like huge Transformer Costumes), there were some Marvel Hero Impersonators walking through the mall, you could get photos with them.
I think it was pretty nice and a good variety of different franchises for a wide audience. For me personally it was little to buy but my anime/manga interests are super niche therefore I don't take my interests as standard.
While Mom bought something for her step-niece I had a very lively talk with one of the artist who was at the Connichi as well about how the first one in Wiesbaden was and we agreed a lot need to be adjusted and she told me that she wasn't even aware of some points, but also told me that the Connichi Management is aware of some issues like the Matsuri being lovelessy arranged.
Another thing here is that she got told to not complain about the food options at the Matsuri because there was soup sold in the congress centre as well and .. uhm... as artist/vendor .. you weren't able to go into the city to eat and that's just a terrible way to deal with feedback. Please organize better food for the people working at your Convention, thank you.
Anyways she even offered me to help at her booth for the future as I have some expierence from the past but I had to decline. It was a super lovely exchange though.
We decided to leave the mall then to check out the Oktoberfest (we were getting hungry).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And they had a ferris wheel... those who know me is that I suffer from acrophobia, but to the extent that I get nauseous when it's really bad, everything starts to spin then but ... oof... it was tempting.
I decided to gather all my courage and go for a ride. I was nervous but was able to manage better than I thought, to my own surprise!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
... and as I had no lunch prior we had to fetch some food. Allen without food is not Allen, right? Went for a crepe with kinder schokolade, my favorite combination.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After going through the vendors again I saw someone with a Starbucks cup and Starbucks is ... like I rarely went there (to be honest twice, and the first time was bc someone else wanted something) as we don't have one where I live. I decided I want to try the pumpkin spice latte.
As we left the mall I was actually recognized as Allen! That made me so happy. Thank you <3 I hope we get in touch, especially with the fact you have a Kanda Cosplay in store, it was really nice to meet you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back to the Latte... I had one but I decided it's the last I want. i went without cream because I wanted to know how it tastes like but as someone who doesn't like coffee.. well... I'm a bit sad they don't offer the Pumpkin CHAI Latte T_T I am sure I would have loved that one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After a little shopping trip we went back to the mall and - not without our favorite snack: soft serve ice cream :'D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gladly we left as the football match was over as the team won and everybody was just hyped about it and the city was getting super full!
Tumblr media
I have to say it was a nice afternoon and truly fun to have a local con. I was pretty beat still, but this has different reasons like the fact I ... am now wearing glasses and it was the first day without them again and the city being super full and me eating really late (again ..) didn't help much.
It's still running today, if you are in the area I can tell you can pay it a visit, it's fun!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My little haul and the free entrance ribbon you were able to get.
Wolfsburg is kinda adorable with their Wolfs-Theme over and over.

You should be aware that the cost of living in Germany for students can be a little more, and they may need to budget carefully to cover expenses such as rent, food, and transportation. It should be noted that unlike other countries, PFH German university provides scholarship to the students, which makes studying in Germany more affordable for Indian students.
One of the main challenges that Indian students think they may face in Germany is the language barrier. Studying in Germany as an Indian student can present a unique opportunity to learn and improve your German language skills. However, it must be taken into account that many German universities, like PFH German University, have a trend of offering English-taught programs to minimize the language barrier with the increased flow of international students in the country.
Additionally, it's important to note that Indian students will also have to face with the different culture, customs and way of life, which may be challenging. However, with an open mind and willingness to adapt, Indian students can have a truly enriching and fulfilling experience in Germany.

Nestled in the heart of Arizona's central highlands, Prescott is a town where nature's beauty meets historic charm, and nowhere is this blend more magical than in the fall. As the temperatures cool and the landscapes transform into a stunning palette of gold, amber, and crimson, Prescott offers a seasonal spectacle that captivates both locals and visitors alike. It’s no wonder that many who come to experience the fall in Prescott end up contacting West USA Realty of Prescott to make this vibrant town their home. But what makes Prescott so special in the fall? Let’s dive into the enchanting elements that draw people in, and why they often decide to stay.
1. The Allure of Autumn: Why Fall in Prescott is Unmatched
Prescott's elevation of over 5,000 feet allows it to experience a true four-season climate, something rare in Arizona. When autumn arrives, the town is bathed in crisp air, making it perfect for outdoor activities and exploration. The changing leaves create a picturesque backdrop, whether you're hiking through the Prescott National Forest or enjoying a stroll around Watson Lake.
The fall foliage in Prescott is nothing short of breathtaking. With hundreds of miles of trails, including the popular Thumb Butte Trail and Granite Mountain Trail, hikers are treated to sweeping views of vibrant oaks, aspens, and maples. The town’s urban forests, like Acker Park, provide a serene escape with trails that wind through lush trees that glow with seasonal colors. For photographers and nature lovers, the fall colors in Prescott offer endless opportunities to capture the beauty of the season.
2. Festivals and Events: A Community That Celebrates Autumn
Prescott is known as “Arizona’s Christmas City,” but its fall events are equally spectacular. The community comes alive with numerous fall festivals and events that highlight the town’s rich culture and warm hospitality. The Prescott Pumpkin Patch, held annually at the Downtown Courthouse Plaza, is a family-friendly event that draws locals and visitors alike. It’s not just about picking pumpkins—there are hayrides, craft fairs, live music, and delicious seasonal treats.
Another must-attend event is the Prescott Oktoberfest, a lively celebration of German culture featuring traditional food, music, and, of course, plenty of beer. This festival is a favorite among locals and provides an excellent opportunity to meet the community while enjoying the crisp autumn air. For those who love art and crafts, the Prescott Fine Art and Wine Festival is a highlight of the season, showcasing works from local artists and offering wine tastings from regional wineries.
3. Outdoor Adventures: Embrace the Crisp Autumn Air
Fall is the perfect time to explore Prescott's numerous outdoor activities. From kayaking on Watson Lake to mountain biking on the Peavine National Recreation Trail, the cooler temperatures make it ideal for adventurers of all ages. Prescott’s four mild seasons offer endless hiking, fishing, and camping opportunities, and the fall months are particularly appealing with fewer crowds and breathtaking scenery.
The Prescott National Forest offers over 450 miles of trails that range from easy walks to challenging hikes, all set against the stunning backdrop of changing leaves. The Lynx Lake Recreation Area is another popular destination, especially for families. Here, you can enjoy fishing, boating, and picnicking, all while surrounded by the brilliant colors of autumn. The nearby Granite Dells, with their unique rock formations, offer a striking contrast to the vibrant foliage and are a favorite spot for photographers.
4. A Historic Downtown That Charms All Year Round
While nature's beauty takes center stage in fall, Prescott’s historic downtown offers its kind of allure. Whiskey Row, with its historic saloons, boutiques, and art galleries, provides a cozy place to explore on a brisk autumn day. The Downtown Courthouse Plaza, often considered the heart of Prescott, hosts numerous fall events and is a great place to relax, people-watch, or enjoy a cup of coffee from one of the local cafes.
Prescott's unique blend of history and modernity makes it a special place to visit, and even more special to call home. The town’s well-preserved historic architecture, combined with its thriving arts and culture scene, creates a charming and vibrant atmosphere. Many visitors find themselves drawn to the community spirit that defines Prescott, making it easy to see why so many decide to stay.
