𝐗𝐋𝐕. Dain's corruption— a direct link to Irminsul's sickness.

Until now, I thought that those people who became what we know as Abyss Order creatures —mages, heralds, lectors— did so involuntarily (and that later on would play in their favor as to not become unintelligent like hilichurls), all due to the negative feelings that we know Marana festers on as seen with Dvalin to put an example. However, after doing a particular quest in Sumeru I’ve come to the realization that these people are followers of King Irmin’s wish of plunging the whole world under Celestia into this desolate, land of death because it’s confirmed that the Abyss Order wants Marana to be a thing and spread everywhere.

So for this reason and following the premise that Dain doesn’t want to become like them (watching him being offended by the Abyss Herald in We Will Be Reunited is enough prove on that regard), I’ll do a small change in his background related to how he reached to the state of decay he’s in:

→ Before, I’ve established that Irminsul was the one saving Dain from being on the brink to corruption due to all the negative feelings he was having at the moment for multiple reasons. Nonetheless, with time I’ve been implementing more that the two of them have been strengthening their connection throughout the years, so the relevance of their ties wouldn’t be lost. In turn, he would have no trace of decay / corruption whatsoever on his body even after Khaenri’ah’s fall. This will become a gradual thing just as the illness Irminsul harbors due to Marana increases in gravity, so will Dain because his consciousness is directly tied to the sacred tree. Likewise, Ley Lines will slowly appear on the right part of his body as the decay increases in his body as a result of this as a countermeasure of Irminsul to keep Dain sane for as long as possible and in hopes that he, unlike Greater Lord Rhukkadevata before him, won’t lose it to Marana.

You were whimpering in your sleep from time to time, so Ranpo gave you head pats, to ease your fear just for a moment. Ranpo let out a growl. This forsaken Teyvat did everything, to break you completely.

When almost a year ago, back in their old world, he and others learned, that you were a child, they were worried, that "their manga" will scare you. Oh, how they wish, that the manga's events would be the scariest thing in your life.

Ranpo had great memory. And he despised every memory about meeting with your "parents".

Ranpo hated, how, in the eyes of neighbors, they were a normal family. How no one would suspect, that they abuse their own flesh and blood.

Ranpo hated, how they couldn't just get rid of your parents, without raising a suspicion. Without having police on their back.

Ranpo still recall, how you looked when you first met. Scared, thin child, who were hiding behind the door, trembling, at the sight of adults arguing.

Ranpo still recall, when your parents asked for a tidy sum, when they realized that he and others are ready to do anything for you.

Ranpo had never seen such rotten people before. They literally traded you like a commodity...

Bless Karma for taking you and other kids outside, so you didn't witness that scene.

But Ranpo especially hated, the words, your "parents" said to them, after Fitzgerald paid and all of them were ready to leave with you.

"Last piece of advice. Don't expect anything from [Y/N]. Your job in making something out of them will a waste of time. Just bashed them with a shovel. Fertilizers are always will be useful."

In a two month they would prove their statement, when Chuuya and Verlaine would use their abilities to bury that "parents" alive.

🕵🏻 For a year Ranpo and others were taking care of you. They loved you, spoiled you, were kind towards you. They found you a therapist and support you. Small step by small step, you start recovering.

And Teyvat threw almost all of you progress away.

Nightmares, fear and tears have returned.

And Ranpo hated, that he can't completely take them away from you.

He wasn't powerful in terms of raw strength. He was genius and had Poe's book. You two can hide, you two can escape.

But this dumb religious fanatics were ruthless. They followed you and followed you two.

Sometimes, Ranpo wished, that Ayatsuji was with you two. Fellow detective was as protective over you, as every one of them, and "Another" would be a very useful in this world.

If wishes were horses...

There is no need in wishing for something.

Ranpo knew, that you need to return home as soon as possible. He must protect your little sibling.

🕵🏻 When you two reached Sumeru, Ranpo almost lost all hope. You two were hunted, and, despite having some helpers (whose help saved your lives), it doesn't change the fact, that powerful of this world hated you. They hated a child, Ranpo's little sibling.

They were trying to KILL a CHILD by the order of ANOTHER CHILD!

Ranpo's thought were interrupted by a jingle. A little sphere, that Nahida gave him, glow. Soon he heard Dendro Archon's voice.

"Ranpo? Is everything alright?"

Ranpo didn't recognize his voice, when he spat.

"[Y/N], before going to bed, asked if I can deduct, why they deserved to suffer."

Nahida wasn't answering for some time. When she spoke, her voice was soft.

"Ranpo... They are trying to find meaning in suffering. I think, for all their live, they heard, that bad things happens to bad people. And they knew, that they are good. So why..."

Nahida didn't finish the sentence. She doesn't need to.

Ranpo was quiet. He pet your head, when you whimpered in your sleep again.

Nahida spoke again.

"I asked Aranaras to help [Y/N] with nightmares... They will enter her dreams any moment now. Before that, let's discuss, what I have learned today about Alice's whereabouts."

🕵🏻 In Sumeru, Ranpo's hope bloomed again. Nahida was really helpful. And, thanks for Aranaras' help, your nightmares disappeared. Maybe, you two could peacefully stay in Sumeru, until Alice's next visit?

Ranpo hopped, that it would be the case.

This hopped disappeared in flames, that destroyed Vanarana.

🕵🏻 Merusea Village reminds you and Ranpo about Vanarana. Place, where some strange creatures lived, who were helping hiding you, and local (former) archon, who was helping them.

Ranpo was really grateful for that. Melusines were guarding you two, making sure, that you two are safe. Ranpo heard, how one melusine mentioned, that "father" also wanted to keep you safe.

Furina wasn't a master fighter, but something in her made you feel less afraid. She console you and bring sweets for you and Ranpo.

🕵🏻 Ranpo and Furina were eating their cakes, while you were playing with melusines. Ranpo can't help, but smile through tears. You looked happy. Furina spoke.

"I am glad, that [Y/N] are happy again. Even for a moment..."

Furina's gaze harden.

"And people are asking why I wish, that this creature on the Ivory Throne just rot away. For "The Holiness" sake, people lose every bit of empathy and mind."

Ranpo nodded.

"When we found a way to our world... Our friends might visit this place again. To have a small "talk" about kindness and kids..."

Furina nodded in return.

"Don't forget to punch someone of the Holy Guard for me."

🕵🏻 In a few days, Neuvillette found you. Dragon was ready to destroy the village. Melusines, he was found of. Furina, whose sacrifice saved Fontaine. Ranpo, who wanted to protect you. And you. A simple child, who already had enough violence in your life.

But, some power hold him down.

You were hiding. You wanted to protect Ranpo, Furina and melusines. You wanted to save Nahida and Aranaras.

You wanted to go home.

Your emotions and powers reached their peak.

And The Great Beast Elynas gave you all his powers, so you could reach Nahida's and Aranaras' prisons.

Not in their barn, after small earthquake and surrounded by a bunch of vegetable things, faun people, kid with white hair and girl dressed in blue and with a top hat.

🕵🏻 There is a lot of work to do. Nahida, Aranaras, Furina and Melusines heed help adjusting to new world. You need even more support and kindness. But Ranpo wasn't afraid of it. He will help you. He will make sure, that his little sibling will never cry or suffer ever again.

Stormterror's Lair/Dvalin's Nest/Old Mondstadt/whatever you wanna call it idrc:

great place to hide. let's be honest, the pathway to actually get there, even from the dawn winery area is LONG. annoyingly long. not that that really ever mattered in an imposter au, but it'll at least keep them off your trails for a while

"oh, the imposter is weakened! they wouldn't travel all that way, let alone only to stay in the same country and be killed by dvalin!"

oh yes they would

also there is a lot of rubble and hiding spots. if we're going by typical sagau stuff, the hilichurls would immediately come to your defense and give you shelter

they also know the territory way better than you do, so they could probably guide you to safe spots

lastly, I think dvalin would be on your side. venti too, actually. I think it's dumb how usually, venti is depicted as evil or "being forced to do it" in imposter aus

I actually don't ever think venti would ever reveal his identity to the people either. I think he'd sit back and watch the chaos, letting his people do what they want with their freedom or whatever, and would maybe start helping the reader once dvalin says "hey this imposter is the real creator"

Enkanomiya:

this one will take a bit of traveling, but depending on how far you are into the game, it'll already be unlocked. once it is, you can easily escape in through Watatsumi and hide among the darkness and islands

I feel like the floating rays and vishap thingies would be your friends. maybe this is how you meet the Abyss, too, since Enkanomiya is technically a part of the abyss

the floating rays are probably your transportation, but if anybody else happens to follow you in and hunt you down, they probably won't even be able to reach the islands at all

lastly, Enkanomiya is pretty unknown. 99% of teyvat's population probably doesn't even know it exists. overall, the greatest hiding spot I'd recommend on this list 👌

Vanarana:

this one is a common one. a lot of fanfictions already exists of it. but that's because ITS A GENIUS IDEA OKAY

it's literally like an alternate universe. If you know the harp tune, you can just live with the aranara for the rest of your life. it's like the chill faerie cottagecore life you always wanted!!!!!

AND each aranara tune is individual to each aranara. so other than the traveller knowing one, pretty much nobody knows the tunes

need I say more?

The Chasm:

this is another underrated one that I rarely see. it's dark and dangerous and spooky, and has lots of hilichurls for you to befriend

they can spend their last dying moments with the creator!! how fun!!!

also a great segway into becoming a part of the abyss

there are a lot more abyss lectors down here, so your protection would be even stronger

you could also stay with that mechanical worm thing that I forget the name of, but he's kind of intimidating

lastly, the chasm is pretty vast and hard to traverse, so people would have a hard time finding you

Aranara Mafia AU

-> Pt. 2

In Liyue, because of the recent famine, everything's also been collapsing, slowly but surely.

Ever since the Impostor disappeared, Liyue's trading ports have been closed due to how unstable the waters have been. Many suspect that it's a punishment from The Divine one for failing to capture the Impostor.

A few weeks since all ports in Liyue have shut down, the millelith started reporting more frequent robberies, mostly from small shops.

Oddly enough, the only things that went missing were either seeds for various fruits and vegetables, or fertilizer. Sometimes even mora in large quantities.

Because of the lack of seeds and fertile land, fresh food is now a rare delicacy. The common folk are forced to eat nothing but dried grain and snow.

Today is another ordinary day in Wangsheng Funeral parlor. Due to malnutrition everywhere, Wangsheng Funeral Parlor has been making quite a lot of mora.

Until one day, they receive an odd request from a customer. This customer in particular was from a group of anonymous people. But during these hard times, mora is mora, so they comply.

The request was to go to the Chasm, at midnight, around Cinnabar cliff, with 3 wooden coffins. So HuTao and Zhongli went there and arrived exactly at 12 AM.

Once they reached there, there was no one..? They tried searching the area a few times, but found nothing so HuTao went back to Liyue Harbour first, then after around 45 minutes Zhongli gave up and planned on going back to Liyue

His plan was interrupted as a bush started rustling near him. And from the bush emerged a small.. radish..? It was wearing sunglasses and a suit, smoking a cigar while holding a gun aimed directly at his head.

"Dig. Now."

Zhongli was slightly flabbergasted, about to disarm the small radish when another, and another, and another

Until around 8 popped out, all armed with guns.

"Hmph. Like I said, dig now, or else." The one smoking the cigar said. And so, Zhongli dug 3 holes, wondering if he's dreaming or erosion's finally taking a toll on his eyesight.

The other 7 radishes dragged out 3 dead millelith soldiers, putting each in a coffin one by one. At this point, Zhongli didn't know what to do at this point, he was confused, slightly scared, and more flabbergasted than ever. If he told anyone else about this, they'd send Zhongli to a mental asylum (if they exist in Teyvat) or laugh it off, thinking he was a silly old man with silly stories.

Once the radishes finished pushing the coffins into the recently dug holes, they walked away. The first radish, that's still smoking his cigar, hands Zhongli a leaf with a weird drawing on it and leaves a sack on the ground.

Meanwhile, in Vanarana

You should've kept your phone safely in your room.

If you had done that, then maybe the aranara wouldn't have tried making a gun.

Maybe they wouldn't have succeeded and made more.

Maybe the 3 millelith who were patrolling near Sumeru's entrance would still be alive.

Or maybe, the aranara wouldn't be attempting to make a full-blown nuclear bomb.

The aranara dance around you, giving you flowercrowns and thanking you for the knowledge you(r phone) gave them, now they're able to defend themselves against marana and evil nara around.

Sapling: Nahida x baby reader.

Age: 3 months old: reader Chan is a baby that the Aranara found, Nahida comes to visit the Aranara and is given a task to take care of reader.

Nahida also known as Lesser Lord Kusanali had just entered Vanarana to visit the Aranara.

As she walks in she sees the Aranara surrounding something that is making a sound “What’s going on?” Asked the young but wise archon as she walked over to the little spirits “Lesser Lord Kusanali, we found a tiny human Nara but we don’t know what to do.” An Aranara said as the others moved to show the archon of wisdom a baby girl with H/C hair and forest green eyes, she had a little cowlick in her hair that looked like the propellers the Aranara had on their heads and she was wrapped in a green blanket.

You couldn’t help but gurgle and coo at the creatures standing around you as they spoke about what to do with you until a gentle voice was heard “Where did she come from?” Nahida asked picking you up “She was at the gates this morning Nara.” One of the creatures said as you cooed up at the girl “Well we can’t leave you by yourself little sapling.” She said adjusting your blanket “Why don’t you take her Nara.” An Aranara suggested “Perhaps I’ll make her my sister, what do you think little sapling?” She asked as you cooed but soon made a happy squeal “I’ll take that as a yes. But if you’re going to be my new sister, you’ll need a name.” The young archon began thinking up names until a voice spoke “How about Y/N Nara?” An Aranara asked “Ohh I like that, Y/N it is!” Nahida said happily as flowers started to bloom around her “Let’s celebrate.” An Aranara said happily flying around making you squeal again.

A small party happened in Vanarana to celebrate you becoming Nahida’s new little sister making you and the young archon happy as games were played, food was eaten but you were given mashed berries and music was played as well.

Hours later:

The Aranara cleaned with Nahida’s help while you slept on a flower.

After Cleaning up Nahida grabbed you, said goodnight to the Aranara and began her journey back to the city while trying to avoid monsters and the Fatui along the way.

When Nahida got back to her sanctuary she drew a bath for you and used her powers to creat a cute outfit that looked like an Aranara she even had your blanket washed.

In the morning:

Nahida happily carried you down to Sumeru where the citizens greeted her and complemented on how cute you were “NAHIDA!” Said a familiar high voice making Nahida look up to see the Traveler and Paimon walking and floating towards her “Traveler! Paimon! Long time no see, how’s Fontain?” She asked excitedly “It’s amazing there and the underwater scenery is beautifu.” Paimon said while the traveler looked at you with their golden eyes “Who’s this little cutie?” They asked making Nahida smile “This is my new little sister Y/N! The Aranara found her at Vanarana gate yesterday and they nominated me to be her guardian.” The young archon said happily as you stared up at the fairy creature with curiosity “Hello! Paimon is Paimon and they are the traveler.” The fairy said as you cooed and gurgled at her “Lesser Lord Kusanali! traveler! Paimon!” Said a male voice.

Turning around they see Alhaitham, Tighnari, Cyno, Kaveh, Collie, Nilou Wanderer and Layla all walking towards them “Oh hey guys.” Paimon said enthusiastically “Good morning everyone.” Nahida said smiling while you looked at Tighnari’s ears in curiosity “Who’s the kid?” Cyno asked pointing to you “This is Y/N, my new little sister.” The dendro archon said happily “Hi Y/N I’m collie.” The young greenette said happily “She’s so cute.” Nilou gushed out “Would one of you like to hold her?” Your new sister asked “How about you hat guy?” She asked making you look up at the young man wearing a hat that reminds you of Ararycan’s cap “Tsk I suppose.” He said walking over and gently taking you in his arms while Nahida gave him instructions on how to hold you.

Once you were in hat guys arms you snuggled into his shirt making him smile a bit “Looks like she likes you already.” Alhaitham said placing a hand on your little head.

It was now noon and everyone had to go to their respective duties leaving you and Nahida, once everyone left Nahida decided to take you for a walk outside the city so you could see more of the nation “That’s Liyue! The nation of Mora and contracts. Ironic given that Morax never has mora on him.” Nahida said as you gazed at the nation on the other side of Sumeru borders “Good one Kusanali.” Said a high pitch voice making the young archon turn around to see her four senior archons Barbatos of Mondstadt! Morax of Liyue! Ei of Inazuma! And Focalors of Fontain “Who is this young dew drop?” Focalors or as she’s known to the citizens of Fontain as Lady Furina asked making the other Archons curious “This is Y/N my new little sister.” Kusanali said happily as you looked up at the four older Archons making them smile “Hello little blossom.” Ei or Raiden Shogun said gently taking you into her arms “Well little one looks like Kusanali made a contract to watch over you.” Morax or Zhongli said “Hey little dandelion uncle Venti can teach you how to play music and write poetry.” Barbatos or Venti said “And auntie Furina can teach you about opera and the rules of Justice little dew drop.” The hydro archon said making you squeal from all the attention you were receiving.

After the walk you, Nahida and the other archon’s went to the city and went into the sanctuary for a supper that Zhongli made while Nahida went to get the rose custard she made this morning after breakfast while you laid in your new bouncer “And that’s how we got the traveler into the Fortress of Meropide.” Furina said finishing her tail on what’s been happening in Fontain and the prophecy until Zhongli and Nahida came back and set plates around “So what did you guys came to Sumeru for?” The young archon asked taking a sip of bamboo shoot soup “We all got convinced to take a vacation away from our nations.” Venti said happily taking a sip of Dandelion wine that he brought from Mondstadt with some Wolfhook juice for Nahida (since she looks to be 8 or 10) “And because we heard about the ex sages of Sumeru finally getting exposed .” Shogun said taking a sip of Wine “Its about time those so called sages finally got what they deserve.” Venti said “Although it feels like their punishment isn’t enough.” Zhongli said taking a sip of the wine making the others nod in agreement until they heard that you were getting fussy “What’s wrong sapling?” Nahida asked until she heard your stomach rumbling “Let’s get some food in you.” She said giving you to Zhongli whom is starting to go into doting grandpa mode “Hello little one.” He said as you played with his tie earning a chuckle from the ancient archon and a gentle tickle from him until Nahida came back with mushed peas in a bowl that you happily ate “You must have been hungry.” Nahida said feeding you as the oldest archon held you on his lap.

After dinner:

After everyone ate, Ei and Zhongli washed the dishes, Furina cleaned the table and Venti put the left overs away, then all the older Archons went to the inn they were staying in after bidding you and Nahida goodnight.

Once you and Nahida were alone she took you to the bathroom and drew a bath for you both.

After both of you are bathed she’s dressed in a pastel green night gown with puffy sleeves, forest green accents and her hair is down while you’re in a white night shirt with F/C flowers on it, after your both dressed for bed she lays you down in your new crib that the traveler made for you with a mobile that had different elemental fungi on it, you had many Aranara plushies in the crib and your covered by your freshly washed blanket.

After putting you in the crib Nahida read you a story book called Flowers for princess Fischl “Then the Prinzessin Der Verurteilung and her kingdom lived happily ever after! The end.” Nahida said closing the book and smiled upon seeing you asleep “Goodnight Sapling.” She said kissing your head, walked to her cot, turned off the lamp and fell asleep looking forward to what tomorrow brought.

seated by the Fountain of Lucine, she couldn't help but feel equal part frustration and helplessness. along each step of their path, the Traveler had been capable of assisting nations embroiled with their inner turmoil free themselves and thrive stronger than before. this time, the task felt so monumental, and nothing thus far had brought them closer towards liberation.

Celestia's oppressive presence in the skies above seemed to signify the greater complexities of this trial, as if its gods had chosen the position to sit and watch the nation they condemned sink, their smiles satiated by the futility of humans' resistance. what sin could possibly warrant such nightmarish a fate, that the people should become no more than what rested before her within the fountain's bowl?

a hand tapped on her shoulder, gold halted from their return from the depths by the warmth of Paimon's breath against her ear. ✦do you think that girl wants to say something to us? she's been watching you for a while now.✦

Lumine hadn't really considered how strange it might have appeared to be so statuesque by the water for so long, her eyes finally parting the water currently silenced of whispering from girls lost to the very living one that Paimon had observed monitoring them.

Fatal Confrontation from Forest of Jnana and Vidya Yijun Jiang, HOYO-MiX

The Aranara have lived in Sumeru at Old Vanarana until the cataclysm occurred. Many Aranara fought fiercely against the invaders of the Abyss, but they were forced to abandon their old home and made a new home at Vanarana.

At some point prior to the events of the game, the Traveler's Sibling met with the Aranara, who referred to them as the "Nara Varuna." They helped them with the Varuna Contraption prior to their departure, after which they told them to expect another golden-haired human who would give them even better memories.

The Aranara do not normally trust most humans, especially adults, though they befriend children and are often referred to as a myth as no adult had ever seen them with their own eyes before. The Aranara relate this to a sense of mistrust in adults and thus deem them as "grown up", who try to say goodbye to their younger selves but rarely succeed. They see children as those who had not "grown up", though they have made a few exceptions to this should they deem them trustworthy, such as Rana and Yoimiya.

welps, since i got a little skrunkling in form of ararycan, lets talk about him. i hope it'll be a short one. (spoiler: no)

also to those who bumped onto my post in their or someone else's dash somehow: english is not my first language. so be ready for numerous "memories" and "forget" cuz my vocabulary is thin just like that. and some other weirdness of course.

first of all, i hate the dottore clone theory with every single cell in my body, and i want you to know that if you like it i dont care, so neither should you care about me hating it. im only speaking opinion here.

and also this is rather my headcanon just not to stay alongside with the mystery while theres a dottore theory around. i honestly dont believe in dottore theory, but i still cant prove it wrong properly due to lack of info, and that annoys me. but this headcanon doesnt attempt to debunk the theory somehow, these are just two completely different things not worth comparing.

but rlly, did anyone on that planet at least once look at ararycan's leaves more than once? cuz it feels like no one knows what is the form of the pattern. the theory followers say these are circles, on my plush these are rounded diamons. wtf dear fellow folks.

the headcanon is trying to explain ararycan's memory loss, as there is no information about this in the game. traveler and paimon just decide that "welp, aranara are forgetful sometimes" though its not really true, but its really odd of them to leave us on this cliffhanger. i once said that aranara never forget stuff unless they meet some certain condition. i didnt explain that well last time so lemme speak a word (although its gonna be long i fear, so once again, the orange text is not necessary)

in the beginning we were given with the idea that aranara dont forget anything, or at least dont forget anything as easily as we do. this was really the very first fact i learned about them since i found messily written notes very soon after i began my first walkthrough of aranyaka (funfact: in russian localization its not clear who is the author of these if you only see the first set of it, and i definitely remember that i was not able to read the next page at a place, so i bet i found it even before meeting arama in the very first time. i also found it in the second time only after completing the entire questline so imagine my face at that moment), and author of the notes says that he doesnt forget things easily, but still decides to make records because its fun to do. basically saying that these lads dont ever need to record things up cuz they remember it all by themselves.

then, during the part where we help guys in mawtiyima forest, we were told about the inscriptions on the walls. aragaru says that these are made only for humans, because aranara will not forget, while people have all the possibility to. all the other inscriptions on walls, if we keep the spoken idea in mind, are clearly made for humans as well. the only weirdness in this part is inscriptions in old vanarana, cuz the only one who needs these during the quest is arama, and its not really clear who these were written to in the first place. but we still cant say these were definitely written for aranara, or maybe i need to research more.

the events of agnihatora sutra and vimana agama are the ones that made people think that aranara are forgetful. the second one is the mystery we are trying to solve in this article, but the first one told you everything you need, but its absolutely understandable if you didnt get it in the first time (neither did i if u wonder). in agnihatora sutra the three are aware that the thing theyre going to commit is gonna make them forget everything, so they were hinting it for us carefully, yet not saying directly that they will forget us. in the very end of this questline they tell us about the sacrifice they're going to commit, and that sacrifice is actually their memories, even though its not shown on screen, unlike the sacrifice of arana's memories to get the bija. that is why we were later told that these guys dont emember us while everyone else do.

also there's the fact araja troubles to remember the events of the past, but this dude actually grew into a tree, and just like i said in the cinnamon arama article, that might be the reason of his memory loss. araja also didnt forget everything that he had expirienced before he became a tree, as sometimes he still recalls to some things as his own memories.

after all, aranara gain actual power with memories and it would be weird if you'd randomly forget stuff and lose yo power just like that. they cherish memories more than anything, either these are good or bad, and the idea of forgetting is terrifying to them (the most memorable to me was the moment when arama complained about alcohol cuz it makes people forget stuff. paimon said that sometimes there are things people want to forget, but arama was still negative about that). well, actually there is a thing they cherish more. this thing is called "friendship", and the idea is that even if you forget something, there will be friends who'll remind you, so thats why they are more dear to aranara, even more than the memories. this is as well the idea of "the forest will remember" thing, cuz aranara are friends to all the plants, animals, some humans and each other, so theres just no possibility for the entire forest (all of these things) to forget something. but that still doesnt remove the importance of memories cuz these are power and these are memories, it'll take a lot of time to gain them back, so losing them is only worth when its absolutely necessary. also remember that stories and memories are not the same, so just summarizing things up to someone wont work.

and that concludes my orange explaination, now back to vimana agama mystery!!!!

so my take is that ararycan mustve sacrificed his memories for something. if we'll try to recreate the chronological order of the events of the past, we'll see that aralohita, who possibly was some sort of a buddy to ararycan, disappears after ararycan lost his memories. or if he lost part of them, its possible that aralohita disappeared prior to that. both versions explain why ararycan still remembers the solution to aralohita's riddles.

ararycan once says that he was the one who brought the ruin golem part into the secret cave, but for now he doesnt seem to be as strong, he rather acts like a very brave weakling. as we know, aranara gain power with memories, so no wonder ararycan is a weakling now, not remembering everything. but still, his awareness about some things looking familiar makes me think that he might have lost part of his memories, but how come?

we know that ararycan most likely was the third one alongside royinjan and amadhiah in the past, so all the vamadhas, including the one that was sealing the secret base, most likely were set after the childhood of the two, which means that might happened not too long ago. that might line up with a fact that pir kavikavus accident happened around the same time, because vamadhas were obviously set for reason. i recall ararycan saying that vamadhas are set when aranara dont want nara to enter some certain places, but says that he doesnt know who set these. so i think that actually could be ararycan, but since he lost his memories, no wonder he doesnt remember about it. and so uh, setting these could be resulted in memory loss as it might take some power. he probably did know that amiti device might be used for no good by some foes, so vamadhas are only set in places that either have amiti device fragments in them or places related to it somehow (and nowhere else, by the way, so vamadha is for sure some kind of ararakalari that both ararycan and aralohita used to wield). we can see the direct memory loss from using ararakalari in case of arama, when the one hit one of ruin guards really hard and returned back to goofy. we dont know how the memories amount needed to do some action is measured, but if we connect the dots, it all seems possible.

the only question left is why the heck did ararycan move the detail into the cave and the answer is i dont know. it was def moved before the cave was sealed since roy (seemingly) confirms this place not changing at all since he was a kid, and probably even before the kids found this cave because otherwise someone said something like "dude, i recall this place empty, but then somehow this huge detail appeared here, no clue how tho i dont remember". but why did ararycan move it there is forever a mystery it seems, unless aralohita is confirmed to be his accompany most of the time and prolly found alive ofc. aralohita might say something about it in that case, unless he forgot everything as well. but its all just my silly wishes.

also arama, while summarizing the places we shall visit, says that ararycan may know something about the sus person we were looking for. ararycan later confirms he used to help kids in vimara village cuz arana asked him, but thats all he says, none of details were thrown after that. his wording that marana avatar is capable of the trouble feels weird, but marana avatar to aranara is many things, not only the actual marana avatar, so he could be calling fatui like that. i now think that ararycan could possibly help us with finding out who the sus person is but for whatever reason it was cut down by his own troubling.

and i know that at this moment it feels like im just coping but idc. once again, my speculations have nothing to do with the dottore clone theory, its just a thing im rather comfortable with. fact of the day: dottore is my least favorite character in the entire genshin impact (among some that are somehow major) and i'll be quite disappointed if my precious ararycan turns out to be his clone or creation or whatever. i wont argue with it, i'll only throw, tear and murder.

and that concludes my tractate. it took me the whole day to put in words and i feel empty rn, especially since i dont know many words, and if you ever ask me why am i speaking english if i could just use my first language - none of your business. if u ask me why i made this tractate - none of your business. till the next time.

Headcanons

Venti

On the anniversary of their victory against Decarabian, he goes to that one tree in Stormterror’s Lair and plays a song he used to sing to his old friend during the past.

After the GAA event with Mona, Fischl, Kazuha, & Xinyan he fell off the roof of the Cat’s Tail and into a bundle of cats; he ended up bedridden in the church for several days.

The most drinks he’s ever consumed in one sitting was 100, and that was during one particularly bountiful Weinlesefest in Mondstadt.

Xiao

Created small shrines to the other Yakshas in a secret compartment in his room at the Inn; he regularly gives offerings of items that he thinks they'd like. (Ex: Bonanus- Rice Buns, Indarias- Chili Minced Cornbread Buns, etc.)

After hearing Venti play on the flute once, Xiao went and tried carving one himself to practice with; keyword tried because he has no experience in woodcarving. The result looks terrible, but he keeps it stashed in the aforementioned compartment.

When not suffering from karmic debt or slaying demons, sometimes he observes mortals coming and going in his little bird form, pretending to be nothing more than what he appears.

(I miss the other Yakshas...but their deeds won’t be forgotten anytime soon so that’s nice.)

Nahida

She makes bento for the Wanderer’s lunch, even decorating it with a cute lil’ Aranara made out of a radish.

Whenever Wanderer comes to visit report to Nahida, she takes the time to ask him MomTM questions like, “How was your day?”, “Anything interesting catch your eye?”, “Would you like me to make your favorite?”

 You know those Aranara in her character demo? She plays games with them irl whenever her duties take her near Vanarana.

Heizou

He has his own fanclub; they’re a small but passionate group.

Heizou thought that deep-fried food was mid at first, but after the day he received his Vision his perception of it shifted as a result of the trauma and thus it now tasted delicious.

Despite not looking like it, Heizou is a decent beetle battler; he’s managed to win against Yoimiya, but not Ayato.

(I lowkey like Heizou. People should appreciate him more.)

Kazuha

When Tomo was still alive, Kazuha would pluck a strand of the former’s hair and be able to play music from it as if it were a leaf.

Kazuha used to have nightmares about that day of Tomo’s execution whenever there was stormy weather, but after putting his friend’s vision in front of his grave they aren’t so intense anymore.

On one particularly fair day, Kazuha napped on a rather warm rock until sunset; he was later woken up by an amused Hu Tao who mistook him for a dead body and was in the middle of taking measurements for his coffin. The two sheepishly explained what they were doing to each other and quickly left; the event stuck with Kazuha throughout the present.

(I kind of went off with the last one here; I’m lowkey proud of it)

Tighnari

Tighnari once forgot to pack enough water during a trip to the desert for research and started acting like a clown because of thirst-induced hallucination; Dehya and co. found him before he could hurt himself and helped him recover. Tighnari doesn’t know that Dehya found him like that while the latter thought it was mildly amusing.

After the events of Nahida’s second story quest, the Traveler went to inform Tighnari about Nur and the other mushrooms at Mawtiyima Forest; now he helps tend to the garden there (if you did the quest, you know what I’m talking about).

When Collei still had Eleazar, if he heard anyone badmouth or berate Collei he would personally see to it the offender would be stuck with some embarrassing chore.

(Idk what went through my mind with the first one other than “shenanigans”. It was midnight.)

Albedo

Keeps a pouch of snacks inside his coat; it’s filled with spiders covered in a sweet resin (it sounds gross, but it’s actually quite tasty).

He’s gotten so detailed at sketching that he’s definitely opened commissions at least thrice; practically all citizens of Mondstadt flock to his office to ask for them so he’s had to set up a hard limit of ten commissions.

During the Irodori Festivsl he came across an onikabuto battle and was fascinated enough to go out and try it himself. He sometimes writes essays on the optimal and ideal form to engage in onikabuto fights.

(Can you tell that I loved the Onikabuto event so much I included it in several of these headcanons?)

Xingqiu

On one particularly sunny day, he tried to successfully practice the moves he read in his martial-arts book. He keeps practicing so as to have another option if he were disarmed in combat one day.

Thanks to the above, Shenhe and Xingqiu have developed a minor respect and the former even gives pointers on the off-chance she runs into the middle of his practice.

His hair used to be more professional and traditional, but he insisted on getting it cut to resemble Yelan’s haircut after that one encounter with her (see About Yelan) because he thought she was cool-looking.

Sucrose

Regularly writes to Collei asking for updates on her teachings and offers to donate her books to Collei; Collie appreciates it, but declines because she’s determined like that.

At first, Sucrose didn’t have time for nor was interested in TCG, but after playing with the Traveler and Fischl she got hooked and now low-key collects cards a la Cyno.

When it’s just her and Albedo working together in general, she feels comfortable and safe enough to let her ears stand up.

(I wonder if Hoyo will have Sucrose and Collei interact again...)
