I realized I never posted this to Tumblr, and the original file size was too chonky. Thankfully TikTok compresses it, so I can anyway!
I saw Daði Freyr on Saturday, and it was great. Much love was showered on Dallas, barbecue, and Bucees (including a quick song about it).

There are three major milestone Williversaries to celebrate this year: Willie Nelson (b. 1933) turns 90 years old today; and 2023 also marks 50 years since his annual 4th of July Picnic and the release of his landmark 1973 album Shotgun Willie, heralding the debut of the “New Willie”: long-haired (later braided), unshaven, hippie-influenced, pot smoking, and Austin-based. ‘

Willie Nelson and Live Nation Launch On the Road Again to Assist Club-level Artists
- “Touring is important to artists, so whatever we can do to help other artists, I think we should do it,” Nelson says
Willie Nelson teamed with Live Nation to help club-level touring artists get - and stay - On the Road Again.
Named for Nelson’s famous road-dog anthem, the program includes a nightly $1,500 stipend for headliners and openers and temporarily suspends Live Nation venues’ practice of taking a cut of merchandise sales.
On the Road Again will last “over the next few months” in Live Nation-owned venues and deliver “tens of millions of dollars in extra earnings to developing artists and crew,” said the company, which donated $5 million to Crew Nation to assist behind-the-scenes workers.
“Touring is important to artists, so whatever we can do to help other artists, I think we should do it,” Nelson said in a statement. “This program will impact thousands of artists this year and help make touring a little bit easier.”

Throwback: Willie Nelson's "On The Road Again"/M for Montreal
As we speak, I’m on an Air Canada flight from LaGuardia Airport to Montreal Pierre Trudeau Airport. This trip marks the first time on a plane in three years — and my first international trip in three years. Back in 2019 things were very, very different. Little did anyone know what would happen four months later.
I’ve said this to a couple of friends. I have a weird push and pull when it comes to…
