Controversial maybe, but I don't understand why people give so much preference and love to JC and WWX's non existent "brotherly" relationship (their relationship was more akin to a sect leader and his subordinate, or a master and his servant. Jiang Cheng certainly thought of him as so, however different he may have claimed him to be). JC in the novel not once called WWX his brother, and I don't think he ever said a word that wasn't harsh or critical to him either.
Why not show some more love to the actual loving and healthy sibling relationships in mdzs? Where both siblings loved and supported each other? There are plenty and they are so underrated!
Wen Qing and Wen Ning. (I don't think I need to elaborate on how sweet and cute their relationship is. Wen Qing being all stern and strict one moment and then all doting and fussy over her younger brother. Wen Ning being all meek and mild in nature and in awe of his big sister, and he's obedient and looks up to her so much. I'll never forget the impact the first Qiongqi path massacre had on me when Wen Qing, exhausted, starving and terrified for Wen Ning, faints upon learning the sheer tragedy that happened to her brother, and WWX had him seek bloody, brutal revenge on his own behalf.)
Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji. (Probably the most healthy sibling relationship in mdzs, imo. They're supportive of each other and quite close from a young age. Lan Xichen being one of the only few people who could read Lan Wangji and his emotions, awwww. His understandable rage at thinking WWX was playing with his brother's feelings led to an angry outburst that was quite unlike his usually mild, gentle temperament.)
Jiang Yanli and Wei Wuxian. (This one is adorable and sweet and so heartwarming! Jiang Yanli is the only other person besides LWJ WWX lets himself be silly and goofy with, because he knows she'll fondly indulge him and laugh with him! The way she firmly stands up for him and declares him as her brother in front of the Jin sect! The way she has stated all her life, by her everyday acts of service towards WWX, that he's her family!)
Nie Mingjue and Nie Huaisang. (Theirs was a bit of a complicated relationship but they still loved each other, and Nie Huaisang all but abandoned his morals in his quiet quest to avenge his brother's death.)
I'm not hating on people who love JC and WWX's relationship and write reconciliation fic after fic, or saying that they're wrong to do so. I'm just tired of seeing so many people portray their relationship this way as if it's canon, when JC and WWX in the novel have severed ties and don't want to be in each other's lives anymore, when the character development JC goes throughout the novel ends with him finally learning to leave well enough alone and let WWX live his life in peace with the one he loves, when there are actual sibling relationships that this fandom is sleeping on, when Jiang Cheng is canonically homophobic and will certainly never hold a wedding for WWX or anyone in Lotus Pier.

While on the subject of trauma, do you ever think about how Hob Gadling waited 33 years for Morpheus to show up at the New Inn, and seemed determined to wait even longer if needed even as he was getting dangerously close to the longest he'd ever stayed in the same place, which had awarded him to be drowned as a witch ? And sure, British people no longer publicly drown witches in the year 2022, but that would not stop a traumatised Hob from dreading it. Nor would it stop bigots finding themselves a sudden dislike for a queer man marginalising himself from society just enough that he can fall off the face of the earth without too much trouble from not-publicly do other than drowning him ... What I'm saying is, it was not only incredibly patient and loyal for Hob Gadling to wait 33 years at the New Inn for Morpheus, it was also freaking brave and metal of him, thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

Honestly something I'd love to see in a fanfic is exploring the what if Dave had actually found Henry's tapes. I saw only one fic tap on the possibility and it was just a one-shot mostly focused on Dave being comforted (for the record: it was good, I liked it) but I'd love to read or hell even see a more in depth exploration of the concept.
I want to see purps world be torn apart brick by brick in real time I want to see him go thru the stages of grief I want to see the anger the denial the bargain until he reaches the acceptance and is faced with the fact that he lost his main driving force, since this whole Freddy's thing he was doing for Henry, so what now?
I'd love to see him find a new reason to keep going and I'd love to see him getting the opportunity to heal 👍👍👍

There are some appaling takes in this fandom.
This one however.....
It could be the medication from the migraine fucking with me, or I am legitimy gobsmacked for words. This is so disgusting and vile to even attempt to name Yu Ziyuan any sort of mother figure to Wei Wuxian when she spent his entire life abusing him and slandering his mother.
No. Just. No.

my beloved mutuals you are all doing yourselves a disservice by not giving kdramas and cdramas a chance. there's literally a show where a ghost king and the ex-leader of a spy organization who has three years left to live become so immediately obsessed with each other upon meeting that they adopt each other's adopted children and live together as a family. at one point the ex-spy leader gets tortured with meat hooks. he's such a pillow princess the ghost king threatens to leave him cause he keeps not doing any of the household chores. they keep selling their souls for each other. there's an entire political plot going on in the background with the stakes to tear down their world as they know and they just don't fucking care. they call each other their soulmate and there's an entire scene where all they do is look into each other's eyes and repeatedly say the other's name because it's good to have someone to call. chinese censorship doesn't allow them to be more explicit because showing gay people on tv is fucking illegal so they mouth "ai ni" which means "I love you" without audio instead. they're the ultimate battlefield couple. they're the biggest bastards in the world. they're childhood friends. they're immortal nightmares.

Nobody ever talks about Johnson but I wanna talk about him so bad
Ngozi made like such a complex character and just like rarely ever talks about him! But I wanna know more about our 4th wall breaking, weirdly philosophical goalie!! I have so many questions!!!
I wanna know how he feels about his situation! Like does he love it, hate it, or just view it as a natural part of his life that he can’t run away from??
How does he feel about the main characters? Like does he mentally view them as his best bros because he knows everything that has happened or will ever happen to them? Or does he resent them because they all have the spotlight and he’ll never be the main character?
Has he known since he was born that he was just a side character in a story surrounding someone that doesn’t even exist yet? OR does he recognize that his backstory never really happened and he was only truly “born” when Bitty came to Samwell?! But even then, did he always know or did he have to meet Bitty and learn that?
Did he feel the end of the comic coming??? Did he try to stop it or did he just realize that he was powerless and let it end?? Does the fact that the comic is done mean that he’s dead or frozen in time???? I NEED ANSWERS.

another duster thought:
i genuinely think duster wanted to remain in DCMC, and wanted to retain the identity of Lucky.
if i'm remembering correctly, the DCMC is implied to have been brought to the nowhere islands due to porky's time shenanigans. which would mean that, after the end of mother 3, if the world really was reborn, there is no DCMC again. duster cannot leave tazmily to be a lucky bassist again.
it is 3am as i'm writing this and i'm not as eloquent as i would've liked and i would've added more but what gets me is the thought of duster being unable to escape the narrative.
imagine duster being able to break free of the narrative that was forced upon him by adults before he even knew of himself. imagine duster not having to be a thief anymore but instead being a bassist in a jazz band and having the time of his life. one must imagine duster being happy without some grand, overwhelming, identity-suppressing duty being imposed upon him.
or, alternatively, letting duster remain a thief because of his own choice.
