he is perhaps best known as the recipient of the Bhagavadgītā and as a highly skilled warrior, but i find that he is often presented one-dimensionally in popular culture, and his well-rounded & complex, captivating nature is overlooked;

handsome, dark and curly-haired, Dhanañjaya (my favourite name of his!) is playful, assisting Kṛṣṇa in his exploits, in which they dress together as women and beguile all who encounter them;

brave and well-schooled in the laws of dharma, he concomitantly does not conceal his love for violence in episodes such as the burning of the Khāṇḍava forest, in which he delights in the unleashed carnage;

such an exciting hero - more below! and this barely scratches the surface!

Merry Christmas 1982 from Citadel Miniatures, who had a reciprocal relationship with Ral Partha in the US, with each distributing some of the other’s products in the early 1980s.  (White Dwarf 36, GW, December 1982)  The “Special Offer!” in the 3rd column mentions Military Modelling magazine, suggesting this ad originally was formatted for publication there and reprinted without correction here -- though the line at the very bottom of the page got it right.

A while ago I was shooting the shit with some Battletech oldheads and I mentioned I kinda wanted one of the old, slim metal Mad Dogs. Lo and behold, one was produced and I was told it'd be more use to me than it was moldering in a pile of shame. Hopefully I did it's old owner proud.

This is an *old* miniature. It's at least 23 years old based on the Ral Partha stamp, but its possibly as old as 30. That's old enough that I'm not sure whether or not the pewter in this is lead free ':v

Okay I'm just going to rant about this moment between Arjuna and Krishna in Starbharat.

I love them okay? They're just too sweet. And cute.

Look at him. Sweet, anxious Partha.

He's just married Draupadi (with his brothers, that must've been so weird [I'm referring to Starbharat canon here, I know that all of them were very happy with the relationship in the original]) and he doesn't know what to do so he lingers back a moment to assuage himself in his Madhava's presence. I love this moment because it gives us (even if only a few seconds) more Arjuna-Krishna time and I feel like this show did it best in depicting their relationship.

He's so vulnerable, unsure of what to do with this strange new relationship and new life.

Krishna just eyes him with the knowledge of how his twin (Nara-Narayana supremacy guys <3) is feeling and is smiling ever so slightly.

Even more anxious Arjuna! His eyes flicker and he takes a deep breath when he's in Krishna's arms, as though he's wondering "What am I going to do without you, Madhava? How am I supposed to face this strange situation alone?"

Remember guys, it takes him all of an episode to begin to trust Krishna with his life and everything beyond, so much so that he doubts himself on how he doubted Krishna earlier.

Also is it just me or does he seem a little calmer after that hug. Obviously, Kanha's hugs are really awesome!

And then he goes and says: "I'll be waiting to meet you, Madhava."

Krishna just smiles one of his Smiles(TM) and says: "We'll meet very soon, Partha."

Just—

!!!!!!

Krishna knows what his Partha is feeling and knows exactly what to say to soothe him and Arjuna doesn't want to go away from Krishna but he has to and 'Partha' and 'Madhava' is just so sweet I'm going to explode—
