there's this fragment from a poem by armenian translator and poet paruyr sevak; that i wholeheartedly believe sums up the nature of sunjae's emotions towards sol: "you have become so tender / and so vulnerable, / as if you're living without skin. / — that's love."
sunjae has no defenses when it comes to sol. from the first time he looked at her warm, sunlit face; to that last cold night in the darkness; lying on an open road — his heart was hers and hers alone. he belonged to her across timelines, across universes: across and beyond the finality of death itself.
he offered up his whole soul; his whole self — to sol without so much as a protest or murmur. he handed over all the unguarded parts of him; the aching intimacies, the hungers of a thousand hopes. "have it," the soft solemnity of his eyes always said to her, in every single scene. "have it all. have all of me. who else but you was meant for all this possession?"
with or without his memory, sunjae never tried to resist the spell of sol's smile, the sacred song of her touch. he surrendered to loving her in a heartbeat — he was fated to fall for her in every universe.
he never fought it. he never tried to hide it; nor the naked longing that lingered in his mind: a beacon of light leading him to sol. sunjae walked into his love for her with his arms wide open.
and he never let go, not even for a second. 💛💙

Essi gettano i bracci in alto –
Paruyr Sevak
