i rewatched Patema Inverted last night and all i could think about was a speeding bullet au of the movie... so i drew that. (although i think this would also work well as plenty of other ships too)

Once again, Asa falls(heh) like a sack of bricks for anyone able to understand her, and validate her feelings/world view.

Loving the character consistency.

Also, I know people saw this asaden moment coming from a mile away, but the holding each other in midair thing directly appeals to me. It reminds me so much of Patema Inverted, one of my all time favourites.

Idk if a lot of people have seen Patema Inverted but damn. This is a mid movie that could have been really good if the filmaking was better. And he’s still one of my fav villain ever

List 7 Comfort Films and Tag 7 People

1. The LOTR Trilogy! I have been making my way through it when I go to the gym, and it is super motivating.

2. Howl’s Moving Castle. I love Sophie and that funky bird man.

3. Star Trek (2009). Upset it is leaving Netflix soon; I will have to give it one more watch!

4. Labyrinth, which I often refer to as “Labyrinth with David Bowie” because that seems to get people interested in it. XD

5. Gandhi. Yes, a 3+ hour biopic is one of my comfort movies. What of it?

6. The Castle of Cagliostro. Miyazaki directed this one before Studio Ghibli was created, and it’s hilarious and touching.

7. Patema Inverted. Does the plot have holes? Yeah. Literal holes? Yeah… Do I still love it? YEAH!

My List of Favorite Japanese Anime

To me the ideal work of anime in a well crafted feature film, with a clear story arch, compelling characters, and unique and stunning animation. These are pretty high standards and not everything makes the cut; you'll notice a limited numbers of titles on my list. This is because I consider myself an anime conisuerrier (one who enjoys with discrimination and appreciation of subtleties) instead of an otaku or anime fan. The world of Japanese animation is broad and wonderful, however, (no matter it's darker sides), and if your favorite work didn't make it on my list don't take it personally, our individuality when it comes to fandoms is what makes us so beautifully diverse.
