James Thomas Patrick Walsh (September 28, 1943 – February 27, 1998) was an American character actor. His many films include Tin Men, Good Morning, Vietnam, A Few Good Men, Hoffa, Nixon, Sling Blade, Breakdown, and Pleasantville. A heavy smoker, Walsh died of a heart attack in 1998, at the age of 54.

A beautiful, burly bear of a man, I first noticed him in the film The Negotiator playing a crooked cop. For a brief, hopeful, moment I hoped that I was actually about to watch a porn about a framed cop getting revenge of the crooked one who framed him… with his penis. But no such luck. I can't really tell you much about Mr. Walsh other than he has appeared in films such as Needful Things, Backdraft and Miracle on 34th Street.

Pretty woeful researching I know, but there really isn't a lot about him. He was a lifelong Democrat, and an avid reader with a strong interest in metaphysics. He tends to get cast as the villians, which fill a lot of fantasies for me as I love the bad guys. His last films, The Negotiator and Pleasantville, were dedicated to his memory, all of which left daddy lovers wondering what could have been as he was maturing into a fuckable daddy.

That was how long he had left to collect himself, to keep his dread at bay. He’d been through it all before, from the day he turned twelve it was more of a chore rather than an obligation, it was a cultural routine throughout New America – wake up early, bathe and scrub yourself until you’re as red as a newborn baby, wear your best clothes and buff out the creases, eat a sparse breakfast and hold it down as you march to town centre, stay sharp, don’t speak, wait, grieve.

Will had only turned sixteen three days prior to the day of the Lottery, every year was the same as the last – a transient alarm would choke him for each hour leading up to the day of reckoning, he’d lock his knuckles until they paled and prayed that his name wouldn’t be chosen from the drum. The morning air was bitter, it greeted him as he shook off his nightmares, he always had bad dreams the night before.

In This Our Life (John Huston, 1942) Cast: Bette Davis, Olivia de Havilland, George Brent, Dennis Morgan, Charles Coburn, Frank Craven, Billie Burke, Ernest Anderson, Hattie McDaniel, Lee Patrick, Mary Servoss. Screenplay: Howard Koch, based on a novel by Ellen Glasgow. Cinematography: Ernest Haller. Art direction: Robert M. Haas. Film editing: William Holmes. Music: Max Steiner. Bette Davis and Olivia de Havilland play sisters named Stanley and Roy, which should be enough to suggest what sort of movie In This Our Life is. And yes, it's a good sister (de Havilland/Roy) versus bad sister (Davis/Stanley) plot, with George Brent and Dennis Morgan as the men in the middle. As the movie starts, Stanley is on the brink of marrying Craig (Brent) but instead runs off with Roy's husband, Peter (Morgan), after which Roy gets divorced and falls in love with Craig, but Stanley's marriage to Peter goes sour and he commits suicide. So then she sets her eye on Craig again, and so on, accompanied by an almost nonstop score by Max Steiner to make sure you're feeling what you're supposed to feel. But this adaptation of a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Ellen Glasgow wants to be more. The crux of the plot hangs on Stanley's attempt to frame a young black man named Parry (Ernest Anderson) for a hit-and-run accident that she committed. Unfortunately, the sensitivity of Hollywood studios about offending Southern audiences waters down this part of the narrative, even though Anderson has a good scene in which Parry despairs of receiving justice. Censorship also weakens the incest motif in Stanley's relationship with her uncle William (Charles Coburn), which was stronger and clearer in Glasgow's novel. Davis didn't want the role of the bad sister, and made things difficult for director John Huston (and for uncredited director Raoul Walsh, who filled in after Pearl Harbor when Huston was called into service as a documentarian/propagandist for the Department of War). The result is some of Davis's more flamboyantly mannered acting. De Havilland, however, gives a solid performance as the tough and thoughtful Roy. It would have been a more entertaining movie if it had had the courage to be trashier and less tepidly social-conscious.

El entrenador de Jefes ya es un histórico de la Liga al codearse con nombres de la talla de Bill Belichick, Don Shula y Tom Landry, referentes que marcaron una época desde el banquillo y quienes pueden presumir una manita de apariciones en duelos por el título.

El primero en lograr esta hazaña fue Landry, coach reconocido por llevar a los Vaqueros a cinco Super Bowls en los 70 (1971, 1972, 1976, 1978 y 1979), en los que se llevó el anillo de campeón dos veces.

En esa década se unió a la conversación Don Shula, quien se metió a nada menos que a seis Super Bowls comandando primero a los Potros de Baltimore y luego a los Delfines de Miami.

Shula se coronó dos veces con los Delfines, en 1973 y 1974, pero cayó derrotado con los Potros en 1969 y con Miami en 1972, 1983 y 1985.

Casi dos décadas después llegó el hombre que cambiaría la historia y destrozaría cualquier cantidad de récords en la NFL: Bill Belichick.

You’ll either really like this or really not. While I’m not too crazy on the ending, obviously, I leaned more to the “Liking” side. A 2019 Tribeca Film Festival selection, the best thing this film executes is an unsettling mood. Filmmaker Lance Edmands creates a plausible situation, where he places the viewer right in the car with the characters as they deal with their dilemma. This approach allows our imaginations to wander as to what type of bad things will occur.
