Star Gladiator - Game de lutas inspirado em Star Wars
Em 1996, jogadores puderam experimentar um game inusitado chamado Star Gladiator, desenvolvido para a placa de arcade ZN-1, baseada no hardware do primeiro PlayStation, mais tarde, no mesmo ano tendo uma conversão para o console da Sony. Todo o game consiste de um imitador de SoulCalibur, ou seja, em vez de usar os seis comandos tradicionais de Street Fighter e Darkstalkers, Star Gladiator utiliza dois botões para armas, um para chute, e outro para defesa. O protagonista é Hayato Kanzaki, que é parecido com Ryu, mas ele usa sabre de luz, tipo como se fosse um Cavaleiro Jedi.
Em 1998, um segundo game chamado Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein, foi lançado para o ZN-2, uma placa de arcade superior à antecessora, o ZN-1. Em 2000, o game foi portado para Dreamcast. No game anterior, Hayato derrotou Bilstein, agora o vilão, renascido na forma de um cyborg, busca vingança. Hayato então deve formar aliança com outros guerreiros pelo destino de todo o Universo.
Ok, sabemos que Plasma Sword não teve nenhuma continuação, mas vale destacar a presença de Hayato Kanzaki em Marvel VS. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, representando a franquia Star Gladiator. Além de ser muito badass, Hayato também é muito habilidoso e impõe respeito com técnicas de sabre de luz, apesar do visual dele ter sido mais inspirado mais nos Rebeldes de Star Wars, facção que luta contra as imposições tirânicas impostas pelo Império Galáctico, do que nos Cavaleiros Jedi, os Defensores da Lei e da Ordem.

Console Fighting Games of 2000 - Plasma Sword Star Gladiator 2
Plasma Sword Star Gladiator 2 also known as Plasma Sword Nightmare of Bilstein is the sequel to 1996's Star Gladiator Episode I Final Crusade.
Developed and published by Capcom the game was released in arcades in 1998 in Japan with a Japanese Dreamcast release the following year.
The game would finally see a release outside of Japan in 2000, with a US release in April and a European release in August. Unlike its predecessor, the second entry in this series did not release on PlayStation.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 launches May 16 - Gematsu
Classic fighting games collection Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam on May 16, Capcom announced. Pre-orders are available now.
Users who pre-order the collection will unlock rearranged versions of “Soy Sauce for Geese” and “Rival Schools Medley” by CAP-JAMS, which can be listened to via the in-game Museum. Additionally, a limited number of physical copies will include a Capcom vs. SNK original comic.
