I recently compiled the latest version of the Dual SDRAM version of the PSX MiSTer FPGA core per May 2025.

Since the updating script only downloads the single SDRAM version, I uploaded my own dual SDRAM build.

LSD: Dream Emulator is a Playstation 1 game, released in 1998 and it was developed by Asmik Ace Entertainment.

Things I don't like about Nintendo:

Making games impossible to play again (Vimm's Lair getting raided by a bunch of companies including Nintendo, online stores getting shut down by Nintendo, more than one subscription required for some NSO Virtual Consoles like Genesis, N64, and GBA, lack of regional translations and ports, etc.)

Taking down fan creations (fan games, mods, music remixes, gameplay videos, etc.)

Putting limits on the monetization of tournaments featuring their games (https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/63433/~/community-tournament-guidelines)

Shutting down online services for consoles that are still very popular and used frequently (3DS getting shut down recently.)

The Switch and a few of the more recent games on it being not that great (Pokemon especially, I'm pretty sure the Wii ran better and it's almost 17 years old.)

Now I know that Nintendo isn't the only one that does this. Microsoft, Sega, and Sony aren't that great with their older games (though some of those are better than others), but Nintendo is much worse and much more strict. Sega doesn't even make consoles anymore, and modding isn't as popular on PlayStation and Xbox platforms due to it being tricky, but their games that are on PC have had plenty of mods, and the companies have no issue with them. I've heard the Xbox Series X/S isn't too good, same with the PS5, though I haven't noticed whenever I used my friend's consoles, and I have an Xbox 1 and PS4. The consoles are also definitely better than their previous gens, which is hard to say with the Switch (hot take, I prefer the Wii U 💀).

So I figured out how to put more games on my emulator in the past couple days

So, does anyone have any PS1 or GBA games to recommend I put on there? I don’t know that many, so I don’t know what to put outside of a couple games

Well okay, I can put more than just those, it’s just that they’ve been my main focus. I should expand, but I don’t know what other consoles here have good games, so those are what I’ve stuck to

Let’s say for now that I can do any platform up to PS1. While technically that’s not true, as I can put DS, Dreamcast, and PSP games on there, I haven’t been able to figure out how to put Dreamcast on there, the DS UI looks difficult to work with (not to mention I have a DS already), and Dreamcast files are big enough, so I really don’t want to touch what a PSP file size would be

But yeah, does anyone have games to recommend on these platforms? I’m mostly looking for the RPG sort of genre, but I’m willing to try other genres, and I know I should expand my roster

wonder which games I'm gonna need to download a rom of and play on the computer... or play on steam assuming i buy the steam versions too...

rpgs in general have some kinda small text~~~ I hope if it does come down to me having to do that to play my games it's not a crime or something; cause as a teen emulation didn't bug me but after I got really worried and scared about torrenting stuff, I've kinda lost it for emulation too...... (I've posted about this before i think)

where do I even start with megaten? I'm not exactly that big on (or good at potentially) juggling my time with social links... but it could be fun~~~

current games I have just bc i like collecting things:

persona 1-4 golden (vita) might have persona 5 but idr i have the artbook somewhere tho~~~

devil surviviors (overclocked and 2 3ds)

strange journey redux (sadly not og cause I heard that one's better (3ds))

Shin Megami Tensei iv and apocalypse (3ds)

nocturne remaster (switch; which is garbage cause minor nit pick i like the text in the older version and the lighting, lol but also raidou in switch version i think)

devil children light book and dark book (gba) how obscure were these ones?

and that's it to my knowledge.... I think I dug through my files of (extra content) on my 3ds after looking through all the games and it says I have Persona Q data there but I don't have the game installed and bought it digitally.... guess I made room for something else and now can't redownload it if I bought it cause the 3ds servers and eshop have been dead for a while....

also had Persona 1 and the earlier games started but for some reason my vita decided to spit up a screen after my battery died for idk how long and deleted everything I had for some reason.... thx vita..... had to reformat and redownload everything ~~~

(collects games... never plays the games...... I'm also the same way with books...)

I've loved this franchise for a while~~ but haven't played any of the games at all.... Just collected the games and some stuff~~ don't really even remember how I found it tbh~~~

idk if it's a text and sight issue on my part or just anxiety about playing something new~~?? which I've just made a post on actually, lol. could be all of the above~~

might need to emulate cause as I've said on this blog; I'm disabled. Legally blind and the text in RPGs is usually too small for my good eye to read, so I'd need either emulation to read the text or to play older rpgs with bigger more readable text...

tldr; don't know where to start with megami tensei, and just wanted to share my game collection~~ of this franchise specifically, lol

I hadn't tried any sort of PlayStation emulation in probably over a decade because when I tried it back then it was kind of a mess, but god. It's so good now. DuckStation is so good for PS1, and PCSX2's giant 2.0 overhaul that makes it almost identical to DuckStation is fantastic for PS2 games. It just works now. No fiddling with the settings. I just load the game I want to play and it works and it's great. And it feels so good to be able to play these games with a real DualShock 4 instead of an Xbox controller, or a shitty Logitech controller with a DualShock-style layout like what I had years ago

Been jumping around and trying out various games and having a grand old time. Played some Ape Escape 2. Played some Crazy Taxi. Played some Simpsons Hit & Run. Played some OutRun 2006, which I'd never played before despite loving the original OutRun. The main thing that spurred me to do this was wanting to play Castlevania: Lament of Innocence for the first time, so I'm looking forward to that. Got a bunch of other great games downloaded that I've never played before but always meant to—God Hand, DMC 1 and 3, Rez, Max Payne since I became such a fan of Remedy's later stuff this year, etc. Also some trash that's fun to check out when I'm not paying for it, like that Sopranos PS2 game that exists because they were just adapting every beloved crime drama into a shitty PS2 game in the wake of GTA

God, I love emulation. I'm gonna go ham with this
