U.S. Progesterone Prices 2025, Size, Trend, Graph, News and Forecast
North America
In Q4 2024, the North American Progesterone API market experienced significant price declines, driven by lower production costs in major manufacturing hubs and weakened demand, which dampened trading sentiment. U.S. buyers postponed purchases, anticipating further price drops, while high domestic inventory levels forced suppliers to adopt aggressive pricing strategies. Additionally, a favorable USD/CNY exchange rate made Chinese imports more cost-effective, exerting further downward pressure on domestic prices.
An influx of competitively priced Chinese exports, supported by favorable production economics and currency valuations, further impacted the market. On the demand side, procurement strategies focused on inventory optimization, as buyers worked through stockpiles from previous high-volume purchases.
By December, the market remained bearish, with subdued procurement activity and weak demand across key downstream sectors. Intense price competition from Chinese imports continued to compress domestic supplier margins, maintaining downward pressure. Trading volumes remained low, with participants exercising caution amid market uncertainty, resulting in a pessimistic outlook for the Progesterone API sector.

Asia Pacific
The APAC Progesterone market, particularly in China, followed a declining trend in Q4 2024. In October, prices underwent corrections due to weak demand and excess inventory, prompting manufacturers to reduce prices accordingly. Producers adjusted their output and inventory levels in response to diminished procurement from key importing nations. As year-end holidays approached and stockpiles remained high, export volumes declined. Reduced global purchases further intensified downward price pressure, with Western markets adopting a cautious, need-based purchasing strategy.
Despite stable input costs and improved production efficiencies enabling competitive pricing, the market remained weak. The growing preference for alternative APIs also weighed on Progesterone’s market position. Throughout the quarter, manufacturers demonstrated adaptability by adjusting production schedules and strategically managing inventory levels, ensuring supply chain stability amid ongoing price fluctuations and shifting market dynamics.
Europe
The German Progesterone market faced sustained downward pressure in Q4 2024. Prices declined in October, driven by weak end-user demand and minimal buying activity. Market conditions were further complicated by the euro's depreciation against the dollar, which increased import costs, while competitive pricing from Asian suppliers influenced purchasing behavior.
The downturn persisted in November as lower production costs in Asian markets and sluggish economic activity across the Eurozone contributed to weaker prices. As a key import center, Germany’s pricing trends aligned with global patterns, prompting traders to adopt conservative positions while closely monitoring economic indicators.
December brought additional challenges, including market oversaturation and diminished purchasing interest. Seasonal inventory accumulation created supply imbalances, while logistical disruptions—stemming from adverse weather, reduced staffing, and congestion at major ports like Rotterdam and Hamburg—drove up transportation costs. As a result, purchasing activity remained restricted, with sustained currency weakness and high stock levels further weighing on market dynamics. These factors, combined with seasonal disruptions, led to reduced import activity and prolonged price weakness.

I know this sentiment is like, rampant, on any subreddit that isn't transmasc specific
But right now especially, it really hurts
And I don't know what to do
https://www.reddit.com/r/trans/s/hZVLpf6qmq
Aw jeez, that's a doozie of a post. Let's go through this line by line, indents are from reddit, italics are from the Executive Order:
The language of Trumps executive orders regarding trans rights have just been revealed. It is beyond disgusting that his approach to transgender rights was to specifically target transfems and transgender women in his language.
Well, not to be a pedantic bitch, but Trump didn't write the thing. Stephen Miller did. Anyways, the author of this post is wrong. The order is very unilateral and affects both trans men/mascs and trans women/fems
Some examples:
(b) “Women” or “woman” and “girls” or “girl” shall mean adult and juvenile human females, respectively.
(c) “Men” or “man” and “boys” or “boy” shall mean adult and juvenile human males, respectively.
(d) “Female” means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell.
(e) “Male” means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the small reproductive cell.
(f) “Gender ideology” replaces the biological category of sex with an ever-shifting concept of self-assessed gender identity, permitting the false claim that males can identify as and thus become women and vice versa
(b) Each agency and all Federal employees shall enforce laws governing sex-based rights, protections, opportunities, and accommodations to protect men and women as biologically distinct sexes. Each agency should therefore give the terms “sex”, “male”, “female”, “men”, “women”, “boys” and “girls” the meanings set forth in section 2 of this order when interpreting or applying statutes, regulations, or guidance and in all other official agency business, documents, and communications.
(d) Agencies shall effectuate this policy by taking appropriate action to ensure that intimate spaces designated for women, girls, or females (or for men, boys, or males) are designated by sex and not identity.
As you can see, the order talks about both "men" and "women" in it. It's not targeted only at trans women/fems.
Nearly all orders did not mention the existence of transmascs and transgender men, and used dehumanizing terms and phrases to generalize all transgender people, primarily transgender women.
Buddy, did you read the order? It talks about how men are men from birth, which I can assure you, isn't talking about trans women. What do you think "permitting the false claim that males can identify as and thus become women and vice versa" means?
Us transmascs will not suffer the most- it's clear
Too early to say which will suffer "more" (whatever the fuck that means), but trans men/mascs will suffer
WE HAVE WORK TO DO AND WE HAVE BEEN ELECTED BY THE GOVERNMENT ITSELF TO STEP UP AS THE MORE PRIVELEDGED PEOPLE WITHIN THE TRANSGENDER COMMUNITY.
Literally what? Babes, honey, of two current elected officials, one is a trans man, James Roesener, and he's a state representative in fucking New Hampshire. The other, Sarah McBride, is a trans woman, and holds a higher position than James. No trans man has been "elected by the government".
Do social work for trans people, participate in campaigns, spread online awareness, stand up for our trans sisters, protest for easier hormone access.
Ah yes, Estrogen, Spiro, and Progesterone, the hard HRT to get. Nothing like those trans men who can just order testosterone off the internet, right? /s
Does that mean that literally anyone can just access feminizing HRT? Nope, but it's definetly a fuck ton easier to get, and actually possible to get, on the grey market, compared to T. If anything, people should be fighting for more access to T, but I guess not.
Even though trans men aren't as targeted as trans women, we WILL NOT STOP FIGHTING for you.
Oh honey, there's still a lot of targeted Trump policy that affects trans men. Have you forgot about the mass protests about the revoking of Roe v Wade? Or how Trump signed another order that revoked Executive Order 14020 which focused partially on access to reproductive rights, 14021 which focused on trans kids rights in school, 14075 which is another bill that gave rights to trans mascs?
Hell, Trump axed a bill that would form an initiative to focus on how to combat the act of corrective rape, which disproportionately affects trans men/mascs, as sexual violence against trans women/fems is usually public/with an audience such as forced genital exposure (Doan-Minh, S. (2019). Corrective rape: An extreme manifestation of discrimination and the state's complicity in sexual violence. Hastings Women's LJ, 30, 167.)
This reads almost like a trans woman pretending to be a trans man, trying to push a narrative that it's the women that are truly affected the most, when in reality, trans men/mascs and trans women/fems are fucked differently, in different ways, with different issues for each.
That whole post gives me the ick, and if the OP is actually transmasc, then I feel bad for his need to prostate himself before trans women and downplay the trauma that his fellow men/mascs undergo daily.

STOP THE COUNT OMG okay hold on im rather curious and By God you do not have the answer this, but based off of the breast pump post Are you/Were you with child? I Am Jealous but not because i want kids I Just Want to Lactate. Badly. If lainpsx is discovering secret hidden ways to lactate without getting pregnant i must follow in your footsteps. okay. weird ask bye im so sorry
lactation talk incoming!!
HAHAHA nope, no children ever!! i cant actually. i was born male :P
all you need to do it is consistent breast/nipple stimulation and the correct hormones. progesterone especially is needed as it is a key pregnancy hormone that stimulates milk duct growth.
if you do not have developed milk ducts, it will take a while of pumping to develop them. if you naturally have breasts, consistent pumping is all you need to do. if you had to start from scratch like me though, you will need to make sure to have well developed breasts first. having a partner who is willing to suckle also will help.
a BIG help for most people is a drug called domperidome. it is illegal to prescribe in the US due to potential heart issues, but it can be found on online gray market websites. it encourages and increases milk production.
i do not use it because i have high blood pressure and asthma, and do not want to risk making them worse.
it is also important to stay well hydrated and to eat a nutricious diet. milk is like 80% water so you need to drink a lot of it.
so yeah breast pumping, high estrogen and progesterone (pregnancy vitamins may help but i havent tried), and good hydration are key.
i hope this helps! it took me like 2 months or so of daily pumping before my first droplets started coming in

thank u! i dreamed it up, i think when i was writing my first hawkins survives the raid and ends up on kid's ship au and then i developed the concept more in catholic school au, where she's one of the only trans girls @ the all girl school (along with cavendish. there are more transmasc and nonbinary people). since then i've made hawkins trans in a one-off gentlemen's club au and in beast pirates bangin', though she hasn't completely entered the story in that one.
there are a lot of people who hc hawkins as transmasc and i love them also, but that's not a hc i would write because im too deep in this one lol.
im considering a scene in bpb where hawkins and drake talk about their transitions, drake was plagued with dysphoria for a really long time and "fully" medically transitioned where hawkins was outwardly a boy at sabaody and only transitioned during the timeskip, achieving medical results previously unheard of because Iva-brand hormones are way more available on the black market now, and drake has to grapple with the fact he worked with the people who kept that off the market (by imprisoning iva) while also being wildly jealous it was so easy for hawkins, not just to transition but like what do you mean you're just ok being a girl with a penis. what do you mean it doesn't bother you your voice is still deep (she does speak a little softer these days though.) bc it's unfathomable to him for dysphoria to not be wanting to be the biggest machoest man, his boyfriends in this au don't even know he's trans until MONTHS after they started dating, where hawkins a) just doesn't have dysphoria that bad and b) has more of an awareness that gender is not binary and being less predictable can be advantageous. one of those nonbinary ppl who want to be unknowable for sure.
catholic school au hawks is more knowable, she's more binary than bpb hawkins and she will voice train when she knows what that is. her thing tho is that just like how regular hawkins does everything possible to live catholic hawkins does everything possible to be able to get into heaven (this is Worse.) she knows what she is and does as a trans woman is seen as damnable by a vocal minority of christians and she's handling it completely normally (she's not fine at all the only medications she's on are spiro n estrogen (progesterone later, the person prescribing for her doesn't totally know what she's doing bc it's kureha and she's a school nurse in this)) but she's dealing i promise. there's a halloween special to this au where she eats drake's dad. i need to fucking write this au more
anyway. thank you :> thank u for writing hawkins and x drake!! i can't remember if i've read any of your stuff but i willl try to soon

Progesterone Prices, News, Trend, Graph, Chart, Monitor and Forecast

The global progesterone market has witnessed substantial growth in recent years, driven by increasing demand from the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. Progesterone, a crucial hormone in reproductive health, is widely used in hormone replacement therapy (HRT), infertility treatments, and gynecological disorders. The rising prevalence of conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, and hormonal deficiencies has significantly increased the demand for progesterone-based medications. Additionally, advancements in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) and growing awareness about hormone-related health issues have further contributed to market expansion. The increasing use of progesterone in the production of contraceptive drugs, as well as in veterinary applications, is another factor boosting demand.
The progesterone price market is influenced by various factors, including raw material availability, manufacturing costs, and regulatory policies. The extraction of progesterone from plant-based sources such as diosgenin (found in wild yams and soybeans) and synthetic production processes have a significant impact on its pricing. Supply chain disruptions, environmental concerns, and geopolitical factors also play a crucial role in price fluctuations. The pharmaceutical industry's stringent regulatory requirements further affect production costs, as manufacturers must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ensure the quality and efficacy of their products. The increasing research and development activities in bio-identical hormones and innovative drug formulations are expected to drive market growth while potentially stabilizing prices through technological advancements.
Get Real time Prices for Progesterone: https://www.chemanalyst.com/Pricing-data/progesterone-1648
The regional distribution of the progesterone market highlights varying price trends across different areas. North America and Europe remain dominant players due to their advanced healthcare infrastructure, high adoption rates of hormone therapies, and the presence of leading pharmaceutical companies. The United States, in particular, has a significant share of the market, driven by rising cases of infertility and menopause-related health concerns. In Europe, increasing awareness and government initiatives promoting women's health have contributed to market expansion. Meanwhile, the Asia-Pacific region is emerging as a lucrative market due to its growing pharmaceutical industry, increasing healthcare investments, and rising prevalence of gynecological disorders. Countries like China and India are witnessing a surge in demand due to improved access to healthcare services, expanding medical tourism, and increasing awareness regarding reproductive health. The Middle East and Africa, while still developing in terms of healthcare infrastructure, are gradually showing growth potential due to improving medical facilities and rising demand for hormone treatments.
Market competition plays a critical role in progesterone pricing. Key players in the industry, including Pfizer Inc., Merck & Co., Inc., Bayer AG, and Teva Pharmaceuticals, are actively involved in research, product development, and strategic partnerships to maintain a competitive edge. The presence of both branded and generic progesterone products affects pricing dynamics, with generic manufacturers often offering cost-effective alternatives that drive price competition. The increasing demand for natural and bio-identical progesterone formulations has further influenced pricing strategies, as consumers seek safer and more effective alternatives to synthetic hormone therapies.
The rising demand for progesterone has also led to increased investment in production technologies and supply chain improvements. Manufacturers are focusing on optimizing production efficiency and exploring alternative raw material sources to reduce costs and ensure consistent supply. The integration of artificial intelligence and automation in pharmaceutical manufacturing is expected to streamline production processes, enhance quality control, and contribute to cost reductions. Additionally, companies are investing in expanding their production facilities and entering new markets to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Regulatory policies and government interventions play a significant role in shaping the progesterone market. Strict regulations regarding drug approval, safety, and efficacy impact the availability and pricing of progesterone-based products. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and other regulatory bodies impose stringent guidelines on the manufacturing and distribution of hormone-based drugs, which can influence market dynamics. In some regions, government initiatives promoting women's health and reproductive care have led to increased funding and accessibility to hormone therapies, positively impacting market growth.
Despite the positive outlook, the progesterone market faces challenges, including supply chain disruptions, fluctuating raw material costs, and potential side effects associated with hormone therapy. Supply chain issues, exacerbated by global events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, have led to temporary shortages and price fluctuations. Additionally, concerns regarding the long-term effects of hormone therapy, including an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases and cancer, have led to cautious adoption among some patient groups. Addressing these concerns through continued research, improved formulations, and better patient education will be crucial for sustaining market growth.
The future of the progesterone market looks promising, with ongoing research into innovative drug delivery methods, including transdermal patches, subcutaneous implants, and sustained-release formulations. These advancements aim to enhance patient compliance, reduce side effects, and improve treatment efficacy. The increasing acceptance of personalized medicine and precision healthcare is also expected to drive demand for customized hormone therapies tailored to individual patient needs. Additionally, the growing interest in plant-based and bio-identical progesterone alternatives is likely to shape market trends in the coming years.
In conclusion, the progesterone price market is influenced by a complex interplay of factors, including raw material availability, regulatory policies, market competition, and technological advancements. With increasing demand from the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, coupled with growing awareness about reproductive health, the market is poised for steady growth. However, addressing challenges such as supply chain disruptions, regulatory hurdles, and safety concerns will be essential for ensuring sustainable expansion. As research and development efforts continue to drive innovation, the progesterone market is expected to witness significant transformations, ultimately benefiting patients and healthcare providers worldwide.

There are two main types of abortion, surgical or drug-induced, and there is just one FDA-approved abortion drug regimen. It uses two drugs, mifepristone and misoprostol. First, mifepristone blocks the hormone progesterone which is needed for the baby to grow, and then a day or two later misoprostol induces labor and delivery, which almost always occurs at home....

Speaking of yasmin: the fact that progesterone (this was the first oral BC that used it) combined with estrogen exponentially increased the risk of deadly blood clots was swept under the rug by Bayer. I had a massive PE (blood clot in the lung) at the age of 24 that could have easily killed me. Thankfully I found a good lawyer when this info became pubic around 2012 and was able to sue for six figures before the case against them went class action. And yet the drug is still on the motherfucking market. Make it make sense.
so one of the things that's so horrifying about birth control is that you have to, like, navigate this incredibly personal choice about your body and yet also face the epitome of misogyny. like, someone in the comments will say it wasn't that bad for me, and you'll be utterly silenced. like, everyone treats birth control like something that's super dirty. like, you have no fucking information or control over this thing because certain powerful people find it icky.
first it was the oral contraceptives. you went on those young, mostly for reasons unrelated to birth control - even your dermatologist suggested them to control your acne. the list of side effects was longer than your arm, and you just stared at it, horrified.
it made you so mentally ill, but you just heard that this was adulthood. that, yes, there are of course side effects, what did you expect. one day you looked up yasmin makes me depressed because surely this was far too intense, and you discovered that over 12,000 lawsuits had been successfully filed against the brand. it remains commonly prescribed on the open market. you switched brands a few times before oral contraceptives stopped being in any way effective. your doctor just, like, shrugged and said you could try a different brand again.
and the thing is that you're a feminist. you know from your own experience that birth control can be lifesaving, and that even when used for birth control - it is necessary healthcare. you have seen it save so many people from such bad situations, yourself included. it is critical that any person has access to birth control, and you would never suggest that we just get rid of all of it.
you were a little skeeved out by the implant (heard too many bad stories about it) and figured - okay, iud. it was some of the worst pain you've ever fucking experienced, and you did it with a small number of tylenol in your system (3), like you were getting your bikini line waxed instead of something practically sewn into your body.
and what's wild is that because sometimes it isn't a painful insertion process, it is vanishingly rare to find a doctor that will actually numb the area. while your doctor was talking to you about which brand to choose, you were thinking about the other ways you've been injured in your life. you thought about how you had a suspicious mole frozen off - something so small and easy - and how they'd numbed a huge area. you thought about when you broke your wrist and didn't actually notice, because you'd thought it was a sprain.
your understanding of pain is that how the human body responds to injury doesn't always relate to the actual pain tolerance of the person - it's more about how lucky that person is physically. maybe they broke it in a perfect way. maybe they happened to get hurt in a place without a lot of nerve endings. some people can handle a broken femur but crumble under a sore tooth. there's no true way to predict how "much" something actually hurts.
in no other situation would it be appropriate for doctors to ignore pain. just because someone can break their wrist and not feel it doesn't mean no one should receive pain meds for a broken wrist. it just means that particular person was lucky about it. it should not define treatment.
in the comments of videos about IUDs, literally thousands of people report agony. blinding, nauseating, soul-crushing agony. they say things like i had 2 kids and this was the worst thing i ever experienced or i literally have a tattoo on my ribs and it felt like a tickle. this thing almost killed me or would rather run into traffic than ever feel that again.
so it's either true that every single person who reports severe pain is exaggerating. or it's true that it's far more likely you will experience pain, rather than "just a pinch." and yet - there's nothing fucking been done about it. it kind of feels like a shrug is layered on top of everything - since technically it's elective, isn't it kind of your fault for agreeing to select it? stop being fearmongering. stop being defensive.
you fucking needed yours. you are almost weirdly protective of it. yours was so important for your physical and mental health. it helped you off hormonal birth control and even started helping some of your symptoms. it still fucking hurt for no fucking reason.
once while recovering from surgery, they offered you like 15 days of vicodin. you only took 2 of them. you've been offered oxy for tonsillitis. you turned down opioids while recovering from your wisdom tooth extraction. everything else has the option. you fucking drove yourself home after it, shocked and quietly weeping, feeling like something very bad had just happened. the nurse that held your hand during the experience looked down at you, tears in her eyes, and said - i know. this is cruelty in action.
and it's fucked up because the conversation is never just "hey, so the way we are doing this is fucking barbaric and doctors should be required to offer serious pain meds" - it's usually something around the lines of "well, it didn't kill you, did it?"
you just found out that removing that little bitch will hurt just as bad. a little pinch like how oral contraceptives have "some" serious symptoms. like your life and pain are expendable or not really important. like maybe we are all hysterical about it?
hysteria comes from the latin word for uterus, which is great!
you stand here at a crossroads. like - this thing is so important. did they really have to make it so fucking dangerous. and why is it that if you make a complaint, you're told - i didn't even want you to have this in the first place. we're told be careful what you wish for. we're told that it's our fault for wanting something so illict; we could simply choose not to need medication. that maybe if we don't like the scraps, we should get ready to starve.
we have been saying for so long - "i'm not asking you to remove the option, i'm asking you to reconsider the risk." this entire time we hear: well, this is what you wanted, isn't it?
