I took a moment tonight and watched the 2019 Chinese Grand Prix which was the third race of that year and the 1000 Grand Prix of all time. Here are some Interesting takeaway listening to the 56 laps that were led my Sir Lewis Hamilton. These are anecdotes about the race and F1 overall at the time.
- Valtteri Bottas took pole for the 7th time in his career O_O
- Valtteri was 1st in the championship at this point
- Lance out in Q1 7 races in a row (history never seems to not repeat)
- Alex Albon from the pit lane O_O
- 59th time Merc has locked out the front row in the history
- Strategy in 2019 was a planned 1 stop | Became a 2 stop for most teams to try and use mediums in the end for speed (M/H/M)
- 2 drivers spun during the formation trying to warm up their tyres with the corner elevation changes
- Torro Rosso took out both McLarens, dropping them to the back of the grid
- race went green while McLaren tried to change their parts post damage
- Lewis broke away on the start, taking 1st cleanly
- Vettel was pressuring Charles the same way Sainz does now (Charles 1st year at Ferrari)
- Lap 10 aired team orders for Charles >_< "go faster or else"
- Lap 11 aired team order for Charles to swap
- Lap 18 Nico retired due to mechanical issues
- Lap 18 Landos wing was scrapping as he came down the main straight
- Halfway Merc lockout holds with 5second gap
- Winds were are large talking point there, and its only gotten worse with the size of the cars now
- Famed Merc double pit stop on lap 36 was crazy
- Lap 43 Kyvat with Torro Rosso retired
- Lap 49 Lewis asked if Valtteri was under pressure from Seb O_O
- Also Lap 49 and Alex Albon in 10th got lapped by the top 3 in the 2nd to last corner
- Lap 45 Tom informed us Nico reported the problem that retired him
- Lap 50 and they were already talking about swapping Gasly Albon between the Red Bull teams O_O
- Hass race pace always a talking point
- Lap 53 lando retired
- Lap 54 Lewis lapped Riccardo in 7th O_O
- Lap 54 Gasly pitted for Softs for Fastest lap
- LH 74th Carrer Win
- Pit Lane to 10th place finish for Alex Albon for some points
Lap 12 Lewis led with a 3-second gap, verstapen in 5th was 11 seconds behind and Gasly in 6th 10 seconds on top of that
Lap 15 order was Merc, Ferrari, Red Bull for top6 and a mix across the rest
Lap 24 top 6 hasn't changed just reordered due to pit stops, Merc Fer Rb Fer Rb
Halfway through, Lewis is 1sec ahead of Valtteri; from there all others were less than 10 behind each other, with Ricciardo in 7th being 21 behind
Lap 30 Gasly in 6th 15sec off Verstappen, Ricciardo 5th 26 sec off Gasly O_O
Lap 41 back to Merc, Ferrari, Red Bull top 6
Lap 42 Gasly in 6th and 33sec off Verstappen, Ricciardo 7th 10sec behind Gasly
Lap 55 Gasly in 6th and 59 seconds off Charles, Ricciardo 7th 15sec behind Gasly
Final - Lewis led by 6sec / Valtteri had another 13 on Seb with everyone below Ricciardo in 7th being lapped 1 time and everyone below 16th Russell that didn't DNF being lapped 2 times

Hi correct me if I’m wrong but I thought I saw you mention that the same intimacy coordinator who worked on rwrb also worked on m&g, if that’s so, why was the intimacy approached differently, it seems rwrb was really toned down and alex and henry are a very passionate couple in the books and nich and taylor can definitely deliver passion and intimacy and it was rated-r so why do you think rwrb was approached differently and rather toned down, I mean what we got was great I’m still so attached to this movie 3 months later and that doesn’t happen often unless I absolutely love the movie or show but I feel like they were holding back and it becomes the question of why, was it n&t choice or matthew and intimacy coordinator or everything was done in how they wanted to tell the story, idk to me you can’t help but notice after the release of the trailer/teaser for m&g, I know it’s a different story and it’s more a drama based on a true story but very different in how they approached intimacy and affection
Okay so this turned into an essay.
I’m gonna dissect your ask into two parts, feel free to send me another ask if I missed something
Q1: Why was the intimacy in RWRB approached differently and less intense than M&G
Q2: Why was the intimacy in RWRB toned down from the book even with an R rating and with Taylor & Nick clearly capable of delivering passion and intimacy, and who was responsible for that
Firstly, yes, Robbie Taylor Hunt was the intimacy coordinator for both RWRB and M&G
Secondly, a little bit of background for M&G to aid my explanation later: While M&G isn’t out yet, I did read George Villiers’ Wikipedia page (Thanks Henry), listen to Nick talk a bit about him from a podcast episode, and watch the trailer. To summarize quickly, King James I has a list of male lovers, Mary Villiers realized her son had potential, so she more or less moulded him into a figure that the King would immensely like. Sex with the King was all for political power: George has sex with the King, and the King enjoys the pleasure he brings and lavishes him with treasures and political power in return. Historical records seem to indicate that the King really did love George as a partner, as odd (and in our modern times, toxic and maybe even “grooming”, George was 21 and the King was 48 when they met) as their relationship was. But the truth is George gained a lot from the King: he ended up one of the highest-ranking members of the court, and the only duke who wasn’t from the royal family.
So to answer your questions:
A1:
It’s mainly because since these are two different stories, the meaning of intimacy is different in each context.
RWRB is a love story. It is about the growth of the romantic relationship between Alex and Henry. Granted, they started with a friends-with-benefits arrangement but from the moment Henry kissed Alex on New Year's they both held mutual, genuine affection towards each other which later grew into love and devotion. This affection doesn’t have an underlying hidden purpose. Their intimacy is a reflection of their genuine feelings towards each other, which is why Paris is so gentle, quiet and soft. That’s the slow comfort of falling in love. Note that in the Paris scene, while it is clear what they’re physically doing, the focus is on their faces. You don’t see much below their waist. Matthew made that choice deliberately: this was an emotional experience for them as much as it was a physical experience. The sex in RWRB shows growing love.
Sex means something entirely different in M&G. To put it in a crude way, George Villiers, under his mother’s order/guidance/manipulation, fucked his way to power. Is there real affection and love between him and any or all of his partners, the King included? We honestly can’t know, because history only records what Geroge wanted to show, but it is incredibly unlikely that he did. Remember how I said there isn't an underlying hidden purpose in Alex and Henry’s affection? That’s not true for George: the hidden purpose is that he wants political power. Sex isn’t love in M&G, it’s entirely power play. And power play is violent and rough and messy, so the sex, as a reflection of that, is portrayed as such as well. Note that in the trailer, we see a lot of the body, but if you look at their faces, which isn’t the focus, he… kinda looks in pain?
A way I see it is in RWRB, Alex and Henry are both giving each other pleasure, as well as their heart. It’s slow, it’s gentle, and it’s respectful: Henry guides Alex in, Alex pays attention to each change on Henry’s face, and only moves when Henry consents, and even then, he moves slowly and the speed later builds up
Now look at the M&G trailer, it’s more like George’s partners are taking pleasure from him. It, at the very least, looks far less mutual than what Alex and Henry have. Geroge gives others pleasure, and in return, he gets political power.
TLDR: RWRB’s intimacy was less intense than that of M&G because intimacy has a different meaning/ symbolism in each story.
A2:
Part of this is because of the limitations of movie storytelling.
A book doesn’t have time limits, a movie does.
If you look at the book, at the beginning of Alex and Henry’s relationship, a lot of the sex was kind of repetitive in a way. Paris and MET for Alex’s birthday were covered in three pages. And both of those Alex compartmentalized as “friendship with benefits”. Aside from the internal monologue of him observing Henry sleeping which can’t be delivered on screen effectively, it’s mostly reiterating the same sentiment from the polo match: they use their international events as escapades to have sex with each other. But put that in the movie and it would take up the limited movie time, time that needs to be used for effective storytelling. The time used for Alex and Henry’s walk in the Paris garden could be used for a montage of all of their kinky sexual shenanigans instead, but if the polo hook-up can establish the intensity of their hooks up in the same way, then that time is better used exploring Henry’s baggage. TLDR: not enough time in regard to the number of times they have sex compared to the book.
The other part is by Matthew’s design.
I don’t remember where I saw/heard it from, either a podcast or an article, where Matthew half-jokingly said people will get bored if it’s just smut all the time. Yes, Alex and Henry are a very passionate couple, as shown by their first hook-up in the movie and the polo scene, but because gay sex in media is mostly portrayed as this wild, sexy frenzy, Matthew also wanted to show that gay sex can be emotionally vulnerable, which is why Paris was so focused on their faces, ergo, their emotions. Matthew wanted it to be something gentle and emotion-focused, so that was his priority in designing the scene.
Also there’s the fact that they’re older in the movie, thus more mature and a little less… hormonal. I think they get to the emotional connection a little earlier than their book counterparts.
A thing to note is that the movie wasn’t aiming for an R rating. In a really good podcast episode with Matthew and Tommy Didario, he even expressed disappointment in MAP for rating the movie R, saying that if it was a straight couple, it most likely wouldn’t have gotten an R rating, and even if we ignore latent homophobia, there’s are films much more violent than RWRB is sexually explicit, yet those films are PG 13.
I agree that if needed, Nick and Taylor can deliver something more intense. They’re clearly comfortable with each other, as seen from the bloopers of Paris morning and the fact that Robbie wasn’t there when they shot the lake scene, yet they were comfortable enough with touching each other and gentle kisses. They’ve also both done more explicit things: Taylor with Minx, Nick with M&G (granted that came later).
But the thing is, the RWRB movie doesn’t exactly… need more, from the storytelling perspective. I might say putting a sexy montage in between Polo and Paris might clarify the timeline a little, but that would still just be little clips of what we’ve already seen in the previous two scenes. And just from what I’ve seen, people who have read the book (myself included) would think it’s toned down, but some YouTube reaction videos from people who haven’t read the book find it really spicy. We book readers just have a comparison.
TLDR: In the movie's story, we didn't really need more sex scenes
Wow, I didn’t intend this to be so long, but I haven’t written a RWRB essay in a hot minute. This was a lot of fun, so thank you for the ask, and I hope I could answer you!

hockeyblr linguistics - a preliminary analysis
hey all! as some of you know, i sent out a hockeyblr lingo survey a few days/weeks/something ago. as of today i finally have the free time to tackle it. big thanks to everyone who took the time to fill out the survey, and without further ado: a kind of hasty, barely technical, preliminary analyses of hockeyblr lingo!
this dataset features around 21 main questions, with a sample size of around 673 respondents. partial responses were also combined in the final dataset because i got tired of waiting. obligatory disclaimer on response bias due to the nature of an online survey, etc etc.
i'm dividing this analysis mainly question-by-question, but also organized somewhat by themes/section. while we're mainly covering vocab + pronunciations, there's also sections looking at connotations/sentiment associated with words, and hockeyblr behavior patterns. it is very late at night, please bear with me if i get anything wrong.
section i: vocab + pronounciation demographics
Q1: vocabulary associated with the hat trick*
Tumblr media
*as anon and multiple respondents have mentioned, this specific question contains a typo that may have affected data collection. the original question posed was 'what do you call three goals in a period?', which caused some confusion. though i think this data is enough to get the gist of it, this is something to keep in mind. i spent some time cleaning the 'other' responses and incorporating any '3 goals in a GAME is a hatty' responses into the other points, but i apologize for the confusion, haha
'hatty' as a casual reference seems to dominate the preferences. the other two spellings of hat trick seem to be less popular, but still present in the sample. in addition, 2 respondents brought up using 'HT' and/or 'H-T' as shorthand.
it is curious to note: in 'other' responses, at least 12 separate people brought up that they would use 'hatty' and 'hat trick' interchangeably (while only 1 person brought up they would use 'hatty' and 'hattrick', and no one mentioned 'hatty' and 'hat-trick' as pairs).
Q2: What is the title of the player that guards the team's net?
Tumblr media
'goalie' seems heavily favored, while 'goaltender' and 'tendie' come after. given that these three terms are most likely to be derived from each other (goalie from goal, tendie from tender), it's understandable: goaltender is the official position name in ice hockey. yet it's curious how 'goalie' is so much more preferred, compared to say the hatty vs hat trick.
i bring this up anecdotally because i remember talking with a friend of mine not in hockey (but into other sports), and she laughed a bit incredulously when i said 'goaltender', like i was making a joke. 'what a weird name, tender, haha,' she'd said, and i got. extremely confused for a moment because i had been so used to it being common vocab.
Q3: What is the term you use to reference who calls the game?
Tumblr media
as also mentioned in the other section, there are a lot of people on the ice with a lot of different titles (ref vs linesmen) - how much of this data captures the people who care and specify (mentioned in the others responses) vs those who just call everyone ref (also mentioned in the others responses)? something to consider in the future. in addition, 'zebra' surprised me as a somewhat common term, given that i rarely see it used on my dash.
a big oversight on my part was forgetting to put 'refs' as an option - that's why the 'other' chunk seems so large here. below is an expansion on the 'other' responses:
Tumblr media
Q4: How do you pronounce the term for the period played following a tie at the end of the 3rd period?
Tumblr media
this question sort of combines pronunciation and vocab in one. once again, shorthand seems to be favored (specifically the 'OT (oh-tee)' pronunciation, though there were still respondents for the other pronunciation). interestingly, more fun terms were also reflected among a decent couple people in the 'other' section, shown below in the figure.
Tumblr media
shoutout, also, to the respondent who called an instance of overtime 'instant victory'.
Q5: How do you pronounce the term that references when your team gets to play with an extra man on the ice due to a penalty from the other team?
Tumblr media
interestingly, this is one of the questions where the shorthand wasn't favored (powerplay over pp). also, as @bisexualingmaliciously brought up: terms like man advantage, commonly favored during announcing, aren't as widely favored, while pee-pee (wouldn't be caught dead on air if they can help it) is considerably larger of a chunk. shoutout, also, to the respondent who pronounces pp as 'puh'.
in other responses, 'poplay' was also brought up as a term. another respondent made a specific distinction that powerplay was used for speaking, but PP for typing - this gap might be something to consider in the future.
Q6: How do you pronounce the term that references when a player gets a goal into a net that a goaltender has been pulled from?
Tumblr media
'empty netter' as a term falls into a somewhat shorthand purgatory (with the full term as empty net goal, and true shorthand as ENG). it's similar vibe i assume as calling hat trick -> hatty -> HT. also, unlike PP and OT, ENG pronunciation is slightly more varied (not by a lot, but a little).
within 'other', 5 respondents also cited 'empty net' as their term. obviously this might not be favored due to the confusion (empty net as the event of not having the goalie in the net, vs empty net as the goal on that specific empty net). yet in the sentence 'crosby got the ___', why do the majority of us prefer empty netter over empty net (which, i do recall instances of announcers using as well)? does the 'er' ending roll off the tongue better? expansion on other response data below:
another note: a respondent made a specific distinction that empty netter was for speaking, while ENG is for typing.
Q7: "The other team is coming to our __"
Tumblr media
i do think it's interesting that the sort of stadium/localization for the playing field is built off the materials surrounding the sport. 'turf' and 'field' are pretty widely used for field sports, and we have a similar reflection when put into the context of hockey: arena, rink, ice.
'other' distributions also reflect sentiments on 'house/home' -- rather than home turf, our home ice -- or calling out the specific territories. however, there were also a couple responses stating that they would never phrase or say anything along these lines.
Tumblr media
Q8: How do you describe a situation where one team is playing 5 players on the ice, and the other team is playing 3 players?
Tumblr media
There's a huge preference for '5-on-3' rather than '5v3' as a term. However, something interesting to note: from the 'other' responses, there was one respondent who used '3-on-5', and one who uses '2 man advantage' and '2 adder' interchangeably.
Q9: How do you describe a situation where both teams have 5 players on the ice?
Tumblr media
Here, though the number-on-number format is still a large chunk, 'even strength' gains a closer ground (despite '2 man advantage' not having a similar effect on the previous set, even if both terms seem to be contextually linked). in the 'other' responses, there was one respondent who simply cut the term into simply 'even', and also 2 respondents who called this 'normal'/'a normal situation'.
Q10: vocabulary associated with dick trick
Tumblr media
*this specific question contains a typo that may have affected data collection. the original question posed was 'what do you call four goals in a period?', which caused some confusion. i went through the same data cleaning procedures, but given this is a 'lesser known' sort of term, it's harder to guarantee that confusion is accurate or reflective.
The majority seemed to have 'dick trick' down - an interesting term, considering that it's not technically an official hockey term, but was popularized from thornton's quote and definitely isn't said on-air.
'other' responses vary: there is a great amount who expressed confusion over the term or called it simply '4 goals' (may be influenced by the question wording, as mentioned). others seemed aware of the reference ('joe thornton special'), or had a different term ('gettysburg hat trick', 'poker', spin on the word hatty).
Q11: What do you call the area that players sit in during their penalty?
Tumblr media
more variation in this response - it seems roughly equally divided between 'the box', 'penalty box', and 'sin bin'. within 'other' responses, the sentiment surrounding the box revolved around either playful/childish terms, or those that involve connotations of punishment or crime.
Tumblr media
some respondents also remarked that their language around the ox will change based on the situation: for example, 'Time out or prison depending on severity' and 'juvie (if it’s a rookie) crimes corral'.
Q12: What do you call a player whose role is often aggressive and expected to fight in defense of their teammates?
Tumblr media
'enforcer' and 'goon' seem to be the heavily favored terms -- however, commentary from 'other' respondents also mentioned that a few believe the terms to be dated, corresponding to historical roles that no longer have a place in the game.
a few responses also called this role 'rat' adjacent, 'bad/big boy', or a similar term referring to the size of the player ('the tank', 'the muscle').
Q13: What do you call a player whose role is primarily situated on defense?
Tumblr media
'd-man' as a shorthand holds a large portion of responses (once again, a similar middle ground shorthand format). however, of the 'other' responses, there was a group who also referred to this position as 'defender' and 'defense', as well as one respondent who specified a 'dman' without the hyphen from the multiple choice.
Tumblr media
Q14: What do you call a player who often seeks to agitate opponents and draw penalties?
Tumblr media
'pest' and 'rat' seem to be the big terms here, with very little surprise. there is however, a plethora of other nicknames available in the 'other' responses
the sentiment towards this player role also seems much friendlier in comparison to other role questions (multiple references to positive endearments, nicknames, or players).
Tumblr media
Q15: Which of these terms do you (commonly) use?
Tumblr media
this particular question was multiple-response for a reason - i want to take a deeper dive on these associations later. for now, it's interesting to note that specific shot terms, often finisher acts (e.g. 'slapshot', 'one-timer') are somewhat more used than those involved with skills (e.g. 'toe drag').
section ii: connotations/sentiment association
Q16: Oldest age of a baby ___ ?
Tumblr media
here are some violin plots on that specific question (which i loved). though this stat has somewhat been alluded to in literature before (the so-called primes/development curves of each position), it's nice to see it in numbers.
a 'baby goaltender' can essentially be older than that of the other 'baby' positions (however, with greater spread - indicating that there was potentially a range of responses in terms of goaltender age). an old baby prospect is the youngest of them all, with the smallest spread.
Q17: Your "national broadcast" refers to:
Tumblr media
evidently, regionally based associations come into play here. within the 'other' distribution, there is a range of responses, from those who have never heard/used the term 'national broadcast' before, those not in the US/Canada, to those who define it as anything outside of their local broadcast (no association with any particular brand). there is also a healthy amount of illegal stream usage.
Tumblr media
Q18: What do you call it?
Tumblr media
this question was deliberately a bit vague, relying on respondents to know the context through the answer choices. even so, 'narrative' won out overwhelmingly. how did this term come about, and why do we all specifically associate so much with it -- choosing it over other terms such as sports magic or story?
on the flip side, 'other' spouted multiple responses who were unfamiliar with the term. so how did that 77.56% suddenly and undeniably understand the term and its connotations? what part of the hockeyblr bubble has assimilated this particular figure of speech for us?
Tumblr media
Q19: What does the above term mean to you?
this question was a free response, aiming to look at the sentiments and connotations associated with the term, and received around 342 responses. responses varied from snippets of poetry, objective definitions, confusion from those who aren't familiar with the term, and also a few associations with rpf.
i did a sentiment analysis on the dataset per response, and graphed the positive, negative, and neutral sentiments on a 3d scatterplot.
Tumblr media
though a majority of responses featured generally positive-neutral sentiments, there was variation and the addition of negative sentiments in the set as well. looking at a violin plot of the compounded sentiment (combining the positive, neutral, and negative)
Tumblr media
though the majority falls neutral in sentiment, and an average skews towards positive, narrative sentiment continues to vary.
in addition, topic modeling was done on the dataset, split into both negative and positive topic models. 10 topics were each generated from the lda models. from the positive topic model, the following topics were generated (terms, with their corresponding weights)

this question aimed to look at how users tagged players -- though i tried to pick a player that could be looked on mostly ambivalently, i obviously failed badly. for that i apologize.
though the #[first name] [last name] format that most player tags use seem to be the most common, there are an evidently varied amount of responses regarding the player in question. people either hate mitch or love him, 'other' responses included responses from 'i would not post about him/i have his tag blocked' to variations of 'minch/affectionate nicknames', to a response who didn't know who he was.
other tagging styles mentioned included specific player tags for only players on user's followed teams, or exceptions for specific players. also used was the #p:[name] format for players.
Q21: How would you tag a post about the Toronto Maple Leafs?
Tumblr media
as opposed to the full name variation for player marner, 'leafs' as the shorthand name wins out over 'toronto maple leafs' as the full team name.
however, this is also dependent on cultural context - the leafs have always been referred to as the leafs. does this tagging etiquette extend to teams such as columbus (would you tag it cbj, jackets, etc)?
conclusions/future considerations: i hate writing this part in real academic papers so i get the choice to half-ass it on my fake no effort one. hockeyblr is fascinating, and you know - why do we tend to say the things we do? there were a few questions i posed in this dataset that would be interesting to pursue if i or anyone else had the time or the time (good god). and considering how unique we are as a niche, how does hockeyblr compare to a different dataset with similar questions? something to consider.
anyway, i hope you guys learned something from this huge post. if you read through all that, you're the greatest. thanks again for reading, hope you enjoyed this not-at-all-academic study.

top 5 lando races
and
top 5 lando outfits
oooo these are fun and also so difficult
Lando races in no particular order:
1. Austria 2020 - baby boy's first podium, and tbh still in awe of how he closed a gap of about 6.5 seconds to 4.8 across just over a lap and a half to get himself within 5 of Lewis to snatch P3
2. Silverstone 2023 - I mean come on, P2 at his home race? amazing quali, fantastic start to get ahead of Max, opening 4.5 laps all his ~ "and it's Lando Norris who leads the British Grand Prix!" ~ he was so good with his tyre management and his battles with Lewis with the SC restarts and the wheel to wheel? Silvo 23 will ALWAYS be special
3. COTA 2022 - now I am not COTA's biggest fan but 22 was a special one, Lando catching the debris that snapped off one of his front fairings but still a phenomenal performance and his overtakes, add in the last 2 lap battle with Fernando (whose clash with Lance caused said debris) really enjoyed Lando's drive
4. Mexico 2023 - I just love the recovery drive, from getting fucked in quali by a technical issue that saw him out in Q1 unexpectedly, to playing it smart and cleverly strategy wise to make it back to 5th and the overtakes carving through the field (the ones on George and Daniel stand out a lot) and add on despite it probably not being easy he seemed to really enjoy it
5. Imola 2022 - Lando being the only driver not in Red Bull/Ferrari/Merc to get a podium felt so good to watch, especially since the MCL36 was not that bitch
special mentions too because I love all of him: Singapore 23, Monaco 21, Suzuka 23, Austria 23, and as painful as it ended Sochi 21 because that was a mega mega mega quali and drive from him
now onto the outfits, again in no particular order:
1. something about his whole vibe that weekend
Tumblr media
2. pls don't ask me just look
Tumblr media
3. real soft spot for this one, and I personally love the colour combos
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Vegas GP? hated it, but this look? mhm mhm
Tumblr media
5. GQ did sooooo good
Tumblr media
bonus: he's very very cute but if this shirt is extortionate I'm killing him

Xenogender Usage Survey Results
At long last, the results of the Xeno survey have been published! Out of about 160 entries, about 120 were usable! Some of these results will be varying as certain questions were optional.
Results under the cut, because this is a long post and includes graphics. Enjoy!
Q1. Do you have a main/primary gender identity?
Tumblr media
Q2. What is your main/primary gender identity (if yes)?
The top 5 most common 'main/primary' gender identities of respondents to this question were as follows: 5. Trans Man [4] 4. Genderfluid [4] 3. Agender [4] 2. Genderqueer [6] 1. Nonbinary [7]
See the full list of all 'main/primary' gender identities HERE.
Q3. What Xenogenders do you identify with/as?
As this was the BIG ONE, I encouraged folks to give their whole lists, no matter how long they may have been. The top 11 most common xenogender identities of respondents to this question were as follows:
11. Staticgender [x5] 10. Demongender [x5] 9. Chaosgender [x5] 8. Bungender [x5] 7. Xenogender (Standalone) [x6] 6. Glitchgender [x6] 5. Stargender [x7] 4. Pupgender [x7] 3. Autigender [x8] 2. Fictogender [x14] 1. Catgender [x19]
See the full list of all Xenogenders HERE. There are 1,346 genders on this list.
These results were particularly interesting to me, because despite the high amount of respondents, only 2 xenogenders went over 10 responses at all despite the massive overall number. Xenogenders are a very vast 'type' of gender with usually very personalized meanings.
Q4. Do you identify with any non-xenogender identities in addition to the xenogender identities you have?
Tumblr media
Q5. What non-xenogender identities do you have (if yes)?
The top 11 most common non-xenogender identities of respondents to this question were as follows:
11. Gendervoid [6] 10. Demigirl [6] 9. Male [7] 8. Boyflux [7] 7. Bigender [7] 6. Transgender [11] 5. Genderqueer [13] 4. Genderfluid [15] 3. Agender [21] 2. Transmasc [25] 1. Nonbinary [33]
See the full list of non-xenogenders HERE. I did include neogenders and "cusp" genders in these results. Maybe I'll do a survey on neogenders in the future...
Q6. When talking about your gender(s) ONLINE, do you put more emphasis on your xenogender or non-xenogender identities?
Tumblr media
Q7. When talking about your gender(s) OFFLINE/IRL, do you put more emphasis on your xenogender or non-xenogender identities?
Tumblr media
Q8. When thinking about your gender(s) PRIVATELY/PERSONALLY, do you put more emphasis on your xenogender or non-xenogender identities?
Tumblr media
The extreme variance in these charts is really interesting as well. I want to make this survey an annual thing, I'm curious to know if this will change at all over the years.
Q9. Do you use neopronouns? For the purposes of this survey, 'neopronouns' was defined as any pronoun that was not he/him, she/her, they/them, or a combo of them such as she/they.
Tumblr media
Q10. What type of neopronouns do you use (if yes)?
Tumblr media
Q11. Do you prefer if people refer to you with your neopronouns or your non-neopronoun pronouns?
Tumblr media
Q12. Do you have any additional comments about your xenogenders or neopronouns?
These will be held to the end of the survey as it is the longest section. Q13. Are you Neurodivergent?
Tumblr media
Q13. Do you feel as if your neurodivergence has an impact on your xenogender(s)?
Tumblr media
Q14. What types of neurodivergency do you have?
The top 5 most common neurodivergencies of respondents to this question were as follows:
5. C-PTSD [39] 4. ADHD [58] 3. Depression [63] 2. Anxiety [66] 1. Autism [93]
See the full list of neurodivergencies HERE.
I do think these results support my hypothesis that there is a strong intersection of neurodivergency, as well as specifically with autism.
That is the end of the results section! Below are participant comments. I removed comments that clarified on their personal identities or comments directed specifically to me. I found a lot of these very insightful, so even though this section is long, I do recommend reading through them. Thank you to everyone who participated!
COMMENTS ABOUT XENOGENDERS:
>> I believe that there is a huge problem in Xenos where the coiners end up deleting their blogs or presence online so it makes it impossible almost to trace back the gender, as well as there not being a well documented enough place for people to access info on Xenos. The best I found that is specifically only for Xenos is a Wikidot but it doesn't have a lot in terms of some genders imo. There's a weird sort of sense where genders and pronouns become their own lost media, and it's sad. I wish we had a way to properly catalog them as best we could but it's nigh impossible as MOGAI and Xenos were intended to be made where anything could be a Xeno (which is good!) but in the wake, double-coining happens and we lose the ones we did coin in the end. Sorry to ramble oops
>>I think the fact that im otherkin influences my gender identity in major wayss
>>I love my xenos and my genders and i think id like to talk more about it irl.
>>i identify as [gender, removed for privacy] privately and do not share it anywhere outside of my close group of friends. i also only identify with it with my own definition, as every one i've seen online includes concepts (aligning with masculinity/femininity, including european concepts such as royalty, etc) that i either feel uncomfortable with or feel defeat the entire purpose of a xenogender to begin with.
>>We identify the body as sushigender for this reason: Sushi comes in many different styles and fillings, but it's still sushi. Therefore, we can present however we want and it's still us. (It's basically putting a xenogender to describe unlabeled/not caring too much about labels)
>>i wish people (both queer & not) were more accepting that gender expression can be silly and you can have fun with it! sometimes labels are goofy. sometimes pronouns are silly. it doesn't make them any less valid. end the sillyphobia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>>i barely attach my xenogenders to my actual gender and its mostly a representation of my entire identity , or some sort of fashion statement or something
>>Most of my xenogenders are private- I do not talk about them other than fairy and livia gender. This is because they are for me and not others, and most people do not need to know about them! :> however, though I will not admit this everywhere, my non-xenogender labels mostly only exist for other people. I am fairygender before I am trans, before I am bigender. I am liviagender before I am trans.
>>Sometimes I like to label, sometimes not, the xenogenders and other genders I identify with are all loose and fluid categories for me.
>>i only use xenogenders and neopronouns with other queer people.
>>i love love love the community this is so cool and i think everyone being able to express themselves is the most important thing in the world
>>I am satisfied with identifying with 'xenogender' as an umbrella term, rather than trying to find and list specific xenogenders I identify with. At least for now. Going to the effort of finding specific xenogenders has not been worth it to me so far.
>>Neurodivergence doesn't intersect with this as much as my alterhumanity does! I am a fairy and a pigeon. Neither has a concept of gender the way humans do. In an ideal world I would not have to fit myself into that system at all! Neurodivergence intersects because it intersects with everything. I am my brain. What it is is what I am. I can't run away from that.
COMMENTS ABOUT NEOPRONOUNS:
>>Most people don't use the neopronouns so it feels wrong to say I prefer them, sense they're never used
>>Honestly I only use my neos with close friends I'm sometimes public abt it but I'm too afraid of backlash sometimes
>>i sort of prefer folks to use my neopronouns purely as a result of most people NOT using them. if people actually used them equally, i would not feel that need to even things out.
>>We do notice people only using the first pronouns you list and ignoring the others (using exclusively she/her when the pronouns are she/they/xe/gem)
>>No one uses them and it makes me really dysphoria but I feel I can't enforce it because there so weird
COMMENTS ABOUT THE INTERSECTION OF NEURODIVERGENCY AND XENOGENDERS:
>>I do genuinely believe a lot of the xenogenders I have are related very specifically to my autism and how I perceive things around me, especially the sound / music related ones.
>>A lot of my overlap comes from perceiving the world around me differently, including my genders and the fluidity of my identity. I feel closer to sounds, concepts, objects, feelings, etc., than I do "typical" and "traditional" gender identities. I understand things more closely and easily in abstracts and metaphors when it comes to my own feelings, so things like "boy" and "girl" don't make much sense to me as a personal experience.
>>Autism affects that indirectly by being a major reason for my alterhumanity
>>My autism effects how I identify myself more than anything most of my xenogenders have to do with my special interests or stuff I feel like due to my autism
>>i have more genders than "usual" because of my multiplicity
>>The intersection most prominently comes from the autism. Being autistic has heavily impacted how I view my role in society and is influenced by a lot of that + my interests
>>autism is the Big one, because it makes me see and literally feel my gender differently to an allistic person. and OSDD-1b affects it only because it's a weird experience being transfem in an afab body, so my gender experience is quite different to singlets who are transfem
>>i think i likely would still experience xenogenders if i was neurotypical, but the fact that i am neurodivergent makes me experience them much more intensely
>>My dissociative disorder (OSDD) and autism majorly effect the way I view gender. It's almost entirely unimportant to me and I see it as more of a form of expression than anything and don't understand why so much stock is put into gender.
>>considering how alienated and disconnected i am from my identity and everyone else, i feel that using xenogenders that feel unclear or 'strange' gives me a sense of identity. i enjoy coming off as strange or offputting to others and like using queerness and nonconformity to express that.
>>my nonhumanity and my aroaceness are a lot more relevant to my gender than my neurodivergencies are.
>>I am not sure if my neurodivergence affects my xenogenders or not, but I know that it affects my overall gender identity, and that is why I label myself as interestfluid.
>>my concept of gender is just weird
>>It’s definitely interesting how a neurodivergency can allow someone to view gender in so many different ways. As an Autistic person, I genuinely do not understand the binary and construct that society has laid out. This in turn affects how I try to conceptualize something that I honestly don’t think *can* be conceptualized. It’s so unique to each person
>>Our autism causes us to see gender from a different perspective so to say. And being a system, other alters also have other perspectives and preferences and identities

The person who says that the car can go needs to do better. It is always way to close with other teams. This is for all the teams..

Super Resumo GP do Bahrein
29.02 – FP1
