look back month challenge, day 1: introduce your newest toy to the one you've had longest.

i've made a post about the start of my doll hobby and my first custom, but for the challenge i managed to unearth something properly ancient. i made this doll for a course at school when i was extremely deep in my steampunk phase & all my art was about airships and gadgets. he has a metal wire armature, which makes him fully poseable, but can't turn his head because the scarf is glued to the face. presumably to hide his jawline, which is admittedly quite strangely shaped. he is my oldest surviving doll, and i absolutely want to make a bjd version in the future.

the little crow-taur still needs some final touches & accessories, but they're ready enough for this. specifically because the difference in the liveliness of these two's expressions cracks me up; the old doll is dissociating hard.

#picking a background color so close to the old doll's skintone was not the wisest choice #but It Is Fine #this is quite adorable to me regardless #look back month challenge
