        Y/N and Nico were sitting at the edge of the lake. Y/N was wearing a plain camp half blood t-shirt and denim skirt, as Nico was wearinga black t-shirt, jeans and jacket. Nico was cooling off at  Y/N finally convinced Nico to get out of his cabin and breathe some fresh air. Nico took a small pebble in his hand and yeeted it across the lake.

        "What did you do that for?" Y/N complained, "What did the rock do to you?"

        Nico rolled his eyes, sighing. "It's a pebble, Y/N- a pebble. Pebbles don't have feelings. They're stone cold pieces of mineral, no pun intended."

        Y/N huffed, crossing her arms. "I know, but hey. what if it does have feelings- what if one day all pebbles will dominate the world and kill us measly humans!"

        "And they wonder why I'm paranoid," Nico mumbled under his breath. right about when Y/N was about t protest, a tiny frog hopped over to them. and when I mean tiny I mean a small, fat froggo. A cute one, indeed. The frog was sitting at the corner of the lake, ready to topple off and drown themself.

        Y/N gasped dramatically. "NO!" She yelled at the top of her voice, "DON'T DIE-" the frog faced her, confused. Nico raised an eyebrow. " fRogGo, dOn'T diE oN uS! C'MoN- You have a lot to live! You have a family! Don't kill yourself"

        Nico sighed, rubbing his temples. "Y/N- this is stupid. You don't speak frog. It doesn't understand you."

        Y/N glared at him. "I don't care. I'm going to save a life today." Nico mumbled a soft "oh hades" under his breathe, whilst Y/N did everything in her power to stop the frog from dying. She tried singing to it (fail), explaining life to it (fail) and even dancing to the macarena to it (total fail). In the end, the frog looked at Y/N with it's pleading eyes that seemed to say "oki :)" but ACTUALLY SAID

        "bitch it's my life let me die pls :D"

        so the frog took a step forward towards the water.

        "nO," Y/N shrieked.

        closer

        and closer

        Y/N started to screech incoherently.

        Nico started to read his book.

        and then

        the frog jumped and drowned :D

        oh and after a week Y/N got depression bcos her friend died and Nico proposed to her in the middle of a lake but she drowned herself so Nico drowned himself too and now they're a happy ghost couple yay

I just think if you can go to very weird places and take photos than you're sort of obliged to do so. There's probably Themes and Imagery in my composition choices but also I just really like the Samurai finishing moves a great deal not just because A: they one-shot mobs from high level Endwalker zones even, or B: the excellent sword swooshy slicey noises, but also C: the poses are cool as heck and when I realised you hit things with your scabbard too in one of the attacks I had to spend ages watching it frame by frame in gpose and accidentally found a new hobby of examining how cool attacks are slowed down :'D

Summer Reading/Writing/Arting Tag!

Not gonna tag anyone, but if you want to hop on board and have me read what you write, feel free to tag me back! (mentally I’m here ⬇️)

1) Describe one creative WIP project you’re planning to work on over the summer. Just one! 

Yeah, that’s a hard pass. I’m going to share more than one! Gonna preface by saying my summer writing schedule is riding on what my new job entails. I won’t have 3 day weekends anymore, but I’ll be working less hours during the day. It’s with hope that I’ll have a better work/life balance going forward. 

I’m working on a Reader x Ardyn fic, and plotting a new Death Stranding fic. I’m hoping this summer too I’ll be able to complete The Sacrifice (Karl Heisenberg x OC/Sonja Ainsley). I have gotten so much done on all of these, but I’m not confident right now sharing them because I’m healing from work burn out and a whole host of other shit. 

2) Recommend a book. 

Yeah, again I’m going to have be a rebel and give you a couple because that’s how I roll ;D

@seradyn has some lovely Ardyn/FFXV work that I recommend even if you’re not into bastard men. She has a wonderful way of writing characters. Same goes for @hauntedadagium

@pandora-writes-stuff​ & @astrandofgold​ have some great Death Stranding material (especially if you like Higgs)

@woundedheartwithin​ @blossom-adventures​ @vodkafolie​ also have some great work worth checking out. 

4) Recommend music! 

Tina Turner--RIP Queen. She was a beautiful soul and her music is powerful. 

Raining in Kyoto (Lofi Hip-Hop)--Comes with a cute froggo 

The XX--I’ve loved these guys since my early days of college. Good beats and some powerful lyrics. 

5) Share one piece of advice! 

Rest. Rest. REST. 

If you’re dealing with burnout, don’t find joy in your creative endeavors, don’t feel like people appreciate you, have a creator block, that’s a sign you need to dial it back and take a break. If you can have a few days to a week off not doing anything, do that. Seriously. Don’t. Do. Anything. 

It’s okay to not be productive all the time. We are not machines, not everyone wants to be a content creator or be categorized as such, and you don’t owe anyone jack shit (ngl it’s nice to create things for people and have feedback as being your motivator but don’t make this your only source of joy when you make something. If you absolutely need an audience, get 1-3 friends who are consistently supportive of you to be beta readers, give critique, or be hype men). 

I’m guilty of not following my own advice here, but seriously, go the fuck to sleep my beautiful deprived lovely darlings.

i signed up for not one, but two gift-giving events, and it was nerve-wracking and slightly insane and also AWESOME. i got to write a Thief!AU for the most wonderful @mxaether and it was so much fun.
