Qingzu did her best to not designate her attention to the elephant in the room today in the Divine Foresight but duty calls. It started when the general asks for a mirror, blathering about the apparent magnification in the front camera of phones. Even the most developed technologies have their flaws, as does all of nature, his laugh resounds across the hall with his talk.
She didn't understand his intentions with the mirror initially, but now that she does: "Jing Yuan, just in case you have forgotten, the documents piled up in front of you require your attention as well," when the man mentioned doesn't react, "And as for the concave of your facial features, please leave that interest at home."
Surprisingly, the man finally snaps out of his diligent distraction with a view that the Counselor has never seen before: red ears. However, the general's recovery is quick, much to Qingzu's amusement. But to her chagrin, it did not stop the General's shameless inquiry, "Am I handsome, Qingzu?"
"...Please understand that I am not a present figure in the fashion industry nor do I have any intention on recommending the General of Luofu Xianzhou to Xianzhou magazines any time soon."
The guards guarding at the gates of the Divine Foresight bite their tongues; it wasn't like they weren't used to the General's occasional remarkable behaviours, but vanity is certainly a new look. After all, the general doesn't even bother to brush his hair in the morning, letting birds build a temporary residency in his hair whenever he falls asleep. It's a miracle that there isn't an ecosystem building up in the general's hair, to say the least.
So, what's with the sudden change? Everyone in the Divine Foresight is in common agreement that the General is... in love.
And it makes sense: he has been caught outside the Divine Foresight more. Well, he's rarely in the Divine Foresight, really- but his frequent "breathers" are often at his own garden, where weeds pile up due to the General's negligence and how demanding his work can be (the general also claims to not need cleaners at home, that his title doesn't need to worry the lives of others). However, just recently, the General often strolls about at the market places and well known tourist sights of the Xianzhou Luofu, sometimes returning with an uncharacteristically large smile.
"...Is that a yes or a no, Qingzu?"
Qingzu ignores his further probing, "That reminds me (it really didn't, it's just a desperate attempt at deterring the general's awkward intentions), our friends from the Astral Express seems to be running a store- 'Express Eatery', was it?" She watches as the general's gaze light up, "promising foods from all around the universe, foreign to the native xianzhou's gaze. Cosmic Fried Rice is particularly famous for it's savoury mix of vegetables and-"
"- Where is it?" The general stands up abruptly, eyes shining more than ever.
"At the gate of the Central Starskiff Haven- you can't miss it," Qingzu answers with a steadfast response, just glad to have conducted Jing Yuan's attention away from her.
The general leaves almost immediately, taking his pouch of Strale with him. But it seems to Qingzu's celebration is short lived, because the general whom is about to leave turns to ask another difficult question, "Do I look satisfactory? How is my hair? It isn't too unruly, I hope?"
Qingzu clenches her fists behind her back, "Why don't you ask [name] that yourself once you reach the eatery?"
The ears of the general turns vibrant red again.

How do you think Richard would react to finding out you're learning German? I'm sure he'd love it but this language is difficult af to learn and I just wonder how enthusiastic or kind he would be with me
Hi 😇
First of all hats off to you putting effort into learning german, that requires a lot of work and willpower! Since I'm a native speaker I can't quite imagine how hard it must be to learn it, but I know a lot of people around me who learned german as a second language when they were already an adult, and they all express how hard it can be.
Now to Richard's reaction: I would imagine he'd be quite impressed and positive about it. He himself couldn't speak a word of english back on their first America tour in 1998 when they participated in the Family Values tour. Some years later, he already was fluent enough to navigate through entire interviews in english. So I'd imagine seeing someone else learning a language, which is quite a lot of work, would maybe remind him of himself. And he'd probably also would see it as a way for you to be able to connect with more people around you, get more chances in life, etc., since languages really open doors - for him it meant that he even was able to live in the US for a while! So I think he would encourage you to keep learning, even if it can be exhausting sometimes, because it's worth it 😌
Here he talks about how he used movies to learn the language - I still have the theory in my head that maybe during this time, his immense love for movie classics and movies in general developped. It is a great way to support the language learning process, that's also the way I learned the english language.
So all in all, this is just a little thought experiment from my side, I hope you have fun learning the german language 😊

thank you for the ask!!! this is. a big one. so i'm putting it under a cut:
yippee.
----- SONI ARIZI-KEVAS -----
👕 1. She's always liked her eyes. In her defense, they are very nice eyes; brown that's almost hazel when the light hits it right, like specks of gold in a muddy creek. 4. Anything light, and flowy. I'd imagine she's a fan of linen. 12. Not really. Honestly, Soni's nowhere near developed outside of her role as Tev's "good and actual mother"; i've been meaning to change that. asks like this help! thank you! 📦 2. Anything basic and gold kind of comes with the program of You're Married To The Person Who Runs A Gold Company. there's gold fucking everywhere. the real nice stuff goes to the people she likes, the cheap rings that only she can really recognize as cheap goes to the ones she doesn't. 9. She lies to herself when she says she prefers to give. 12. Yes. Probably as a cultural thing. Not as much as some people, though, it's more just a habit built in from years of living in the circles she has. Always better to be nice, yeah? 🍽️ 6. Yes. She's gotten good at doing just this. She's an amazing cook and will always bring her own food when she can. 10. I really don't have pavilic cultural food fleshed out as well as i'd like, but i'd guess it's something warm, probably with a kick to it. Some kind of chili, maybe? 16. Anything too crunchy puts her off. Other than that, she's good with anything. 🌤️ 5. Not quite sure what animal phase means in this context? Under the definition of just really liking a certain animal: ehhh. Probably not. She shares a decent appreciation for horses, birds, and general native insects. She did get really into plants, though. 7. Yes. 10. She's had to deal with it a couple times on trips and such but it is Not Her Thing. mostly because it requires layers and she can't stand things that press too much against her, clothing wise. Like, she's super protective of her fancy sun hats because it's taken her days to find ones she doesn't mind wearing for more than five minutes. She does not like snow. 🤝 5. Her wife. Not only does Amari have a shit ton of knowledge about that kind of thing, she's also her wife. You call your wife when you're not doing well. She loves her wife <3 15. This is. Also her wife. It is also her entire house staff (whom she treats very well and is personally friends with) and, occasionally, her children. 19. Absolutely. A chance to show off, make food, see people happy, get live music going, dress up fancy, get Fancy With It in general, and just overall go all out? She is ON THAT SHIT. There's a reason she has a reputation as a good host. 💓 13. Walks outside, weather permitting; reading, music, and just hanging out with her loved ones also suffice. 18. Not very often. It got worse when she got married, worse when she became a mother; they've gotten better over time. I'd say about as much as a normal person gets nightmares. 19. She cannot stand if something smells too sweet. This is a Floral Perfume Only Household. 🎲 2. She writes music! She doesn't share it often, mostly because she likes just writing it for herself, but Amari does play piano and she'll play the stuff she writes a lot of the time. 8. Outdoors in the indoors. She loves her sunroom. That being said if you asked her to spend a night away from her meticulously kept household in favor of The Outside she would. not like you very much 11. Unfortunately, no. She might've broken a wrist as a kid or something, but nothing story-worthy.
----- TEQ QUETZEVE -----
👕 1. His sytzetriae scars are a big point of pride for him. Other than that, he really likes his hair; it's long, dark brown, a little wiry. He keeps it down with the front tied back most of the time (think Jon Sims from TMA). 4. Nothing really comes to mind. They like fabrics on the softer side, but they don't really have a preference. 12. I'm not sure if this is asking over the course of their life, or over their character development; either way, kind of. He's technically transmasc, but gender identity is treated quite differently in Pavilic culture. You've got a body, it's yours to do whatever you want to make yourself comfortable, and it's no one else's business what goes on with it. He prefers being seen as masculine, though. 📦 2. Small gift card and handwritten note. Just, like, a small note. Teq writes letters to the people he loves. 9. Give. No question about it. He gives incredibly thoughtfully. 12. Yep. Like Soni, it's sort of as a cultural thing, but it's more just that he has a respect for things that are made to a higher degree than most, so it makes sense he'd take care of them more. Also, his gun. His gun is his daughter. Astarcye Ardea means very, very much to him. 🍽️ 6. They would try, but he wouldn't lie if asked how it was. 10. Again, I don't have cultural food as figured out as i'd like, but probably something simple, like a pasta. This man would devour any chicken alfredo placed in front of him. 16. You know that startchiness leftover potatoes get? That. 🌤️ 5. He probably had a marine biology phase. I'd imagine he'd really like fish. 7. Yes, in places he knows. Absolutely not in the places he doesn't. He can make good mental maps once he's been there once or twice, but put him somewhere new and tell him to follow directions? Bad idea. 10. Grew up with it happening pretty much every winter, consistently. Used to it. He thinks it's pretty, but nothing super spectacular; it makes it harder to travel, but rest is the point of winter, is it not? 🤝 5. Aetos Katelli. No questions asked. 15. Their entire team, in the order of Atzia, Cetz, then Aetos. Not because of anything against Aetos, just that the other two are better fighters. Atzia has a similar set of morals (ish) to him, and can tear into people well; Cetz knows how to make people afraid; and Aetos just doesn't like fighting all that much. Then again, Aetos does have the 2 ft tall bird... 19. YES. the joy!!! the religious aspect!!! the community!!! he loves them very very much 💓 13. Watching TV, working on projects, and hanging out with friends, usually. 18. Slightly more often than average. They're mostly about his dead dad being disappointed in him. 19. Not really. He's good with anything. 🎲 2. Technically gardening? It's not secret, he just hasn't had the chance to really do it in years. He does start helping at his local one at one point, which he loves, and which is when it comes out that the friend they've known for years knows a shit ton about plants. 8. Outdoorsy, in your average hiker type way. He's not yearning to go camping every weekend, but once every couple months is a nice reset. It helps him process things. 11. He's almost cut off various parts of his hand several times. He's also probably almost, or actually gotten shot several times.
----- BASIL DOW THORNE -----
👕 1. He likes his hair. He has quite long hair; it's got enough volume to sit well, but it's also decently wavy, and almost silky. It's comforting, to him. 4. Any kind of soft, heavy fabric, like certain types of wool. 12. Nope! somehow. Unless we're counting the eyes? He got his eyes fucked over by a virus + aliens, and now he sees past the visible spectrum of light. We love him dearly. 📦 2. Cash in a dollar store card. Basic, but classic. 9. He's about equal. Loves to give to the people he wants to give to, but doesn't mind receiving. He hates being forced to give gifts. 12. Yes. Not much, but he does it a lot for technology, especially computers or his star database program, SEAS. 🍽️ 6. Yes, but he is not good at hiding it. He tries his best. 10. Dairy queen chicken tender box. Also, cheesy potatoes of any kind. 16. Undercooked vegetables. Like, vegetables that were cooked, and are supposed to be cooked, but weren't enough, and now they're squeaky. 🌤️ 5. Surprisingly, no. Maybe bugs at some point. He knows a lot about goats, because his grandpa owned some. 7. A decent enough one. 10. This man grew up in Sandusky, Ohio. He is used to the lake effect. He doesn't particularly love snow, but it's either like it or leave, and he liked it. 🤝 5. Headache, or any symptom explained by Alien Fuckery? Locke. Anything else? Anyone in medical. 15. Locke, Ithax, and maybe KC, in that order. I think him and KC would get on well. Research friends !!! 19. Not a lot. Reminds him of some tense times in his childhood. He does like the sun related events, like solstices. 💓 13. Work. When that's not an option, music, sleep, and playing games. He likes solitaire. 18. Pretty frequently. Not bad ones, but not good dreams. It got a lot worse after the damage caused by the virus- it's not uncommon for him to have dreams of drowning, being trapped, losing full control of his already affected body, or having his mind taken away from him again. He fought for it once, yknow. 19. Anything too strong, like gasoline or nail polish. This does not apply to food or baked goods. 🎲 2. He probably knows how to knit or crochet. 8. A pretty even split. He liked walks, or just working outdoors when he could, but. well. He's in space now? Hard to tell, he's changed a lot as a person. 11. He got purposefully infected with a virus that allowed the aliens from the star(s) to have a much easier time getting into his head. It caused the normal symptoms- extensive muscle and nerve damage, etc.- but also, because of it being centered around his head, it affected his eyes and parts of his brain. He deals with a lot of sensory overload.
----- ŁUCJA KWOLEK -----
👕 1. Her hands. They've done a lot for her. She appreciates her scars. 4. Not necessarily a material, but kind of by extension, because she has an old jacket she got in her days as a mechanic that she still wears. I'd imagine the inner lining is some sort of soft sherpa. 12. Somehow, no. 📦 2. Some sort of niche, but useful item, like pens or coasters. She also gives these things to people she likes. It's all about the intent. 9. Receive, but she does like to give when it's the people she cares about most. 12. Not really. Sometimes, for the bit. 🍽️ 6. They can tolerate a lot, but if she doesn't like something, she's not hiding it. She'll be polite, but she will find her own food. 10. Honestly, I have no idea. Her food tastes are a little erratic. She shotguns salt packets whenever she's tired or anxious. Her favorite meal is probably something simple, though. 16. Anything too mushy. Also, stringy / not all the way melted (gooey) cheese. 🌤️ 5. She had a phase where she really, really liked butterflies and moths. Like. Really. It lasted for years. It never really left. 7. She can see a map of a place and recall it days later. I would say yes. 10. They grew up with it being there often, and harsh; she loves it. 🤝 5. Gonna be honest, she doesn't have many friends yet. Probably just anyone in Medical. Except for Melbourne (Judas). She doesn't like him very much (at least at the beginning of the ship's life.) 15. Same as last. Probably authority figures, like Captain or the arms lieutenant. 19. Ehhh. They're not big on them. None of them were ever super important; they do celebrate anniversaries, though. And they like to join in when other people have important holidays; she likes to celebrate with people, but the holiday itself doesn't have much meaning. 💓 13. Reading's a big one. She also likes illustration; doubling back on her butterflies and moths thing, she's probably incredibly good at drawing those, especially in the textbook illustration style. She does that. 18. Very frequently, about a variety of things. About half the time, she doesn't even remember what, just that it was bad. 19. Anything overly citrus or floral. 🎲 2. She doesn't exactly go around publicly broadcasting the illustration thing. She prefers to engage in personal things like that personally. 8. She used to be quite outdoorsy, but it's kind of faded. She's also in space, which affects things. 11. Kwolek rivals Kepler with her long story shorts. Working private security for years will do that. There are several things you do not want to get her started on. Several of them are times when she was injured. ----- okay we're done. thank you for reading all of this and thank you for the ask :) i hope your day is going well too!

The situation was not immediately concerning.
At least, it didn’t start out that way when Eaters tentatively wandered to worlds largely without any native Digimon. There were always digital monsters on the outskirts of worlds/universes with a whiff of technology developing in them. Native and visiting were different situations…
Mirei had kept a slight eye on the situation yet ultimately chose not to intervene unless it escalated. The Eaters were still an enigma even to her own expansive network. Best to let things settles before preempting the uncorrupted Eaters who acted as observers. In no way, shape, or form could merely watching be considered a crime—by Digimon standards.
She regretted being so passive somedays.
She regretted not being as infallible as she presented herself as.
She did have to continue her search—
and so.
The situation escalated.
——————————
Hiveminds share senses, thoughts (if that developed), and experiences.
Ergo?
The Corrupted Eaters weren’t limited to the Mother Eater nor the Sleuth and Hacker’s world alone. The Multiverse was a wide place where multitudes of those stories existed.
One lone remnant of bad data revitalized it.
——————————
There had been cries of outrage at what she had done, but unfortunately for everyone—Mirei required more people to investigate.
She had performed enough medical scans on the original Cyber Sleuth to know what a slightly unstable half cyberization looked like. Her own “condition” allowed her to know when the process went too far. Digimon served as the stabilizing catalyst as she spread her own version of EDEN syndrome to recruit Sleuths. How ironic to seek out universes where the Digital World was considered a figment of imagination. Informed yet naive Digimon fans.
Unfortunately, Mirei needed people who were even remotely knowledgeable about the situation. She singled out humans who played or watched the recreations of the Sleuth and Hacker’s stories. The process of becoming half-cyber wasn’t painful contrary to the genuine panic one experienced when transported to her.
.
.
.
The Digi-Lab underwent massive renovations as it was now housed on a Server that appeared in a stray corner of a Digital World. In the first time since her condition became apparent, Mirei found herself having to adapt to having more people present around her. She had to adjust the Half-Cyber programs to account for the sheer dysmorphia… Any success in that regard was—half hazard at best due to the situation imposed on everyone. The tamer would not apologize for bringing them here.
Mirei, of course, took some precautions in order to curb the potential for her recruits to abuse the situation. People have become warped from lesser opportunities. Even some Digimon.
That leveling scaling system from the PVP matches worked in reverse after all.
—
Here’s some context to the mass of Sleuths and Hackers. The barebones of Mirei’s decision to undertake such a change from the status quo. She originally worked very much alone.
I’m thinking of calling it the Agency.
Erika/Hudiemon will join soon enough.
Welp. That's one way for shit to slowly go from zero to a hundred. Can only imagine how her 'recruits' are reacting to this situation.

What kind of advice or tips would you give to someone who wants to write fanfics, but has trouble with being able to grip the genshin characters' true personality and dialogue style? To avoid making them feel way too ooc
Not gonna lie - I've kept it in the askbox a little bit longer, cause I had a hard time formulating my thoughts.
The thing is - I too, often, feel like I stray from the character, especially after just finishing the piece of writing. That's why I ask a friend to read them for me - an insight from another person helps me a lot! Especially since the person is involved in the fandom and shares my love for almost the same characters.
Another thing you can do - is excercise patience. Let the wirtten work sit in your drafts a couple of days and then come back to it, to reread, to see how you feel about it, does something feel off etc.
Personally, when it comes to attempts not to make characters ooc - I don't always notice HOW exactly I am doing it. But after thinking a little, I remembered that when I write what characters say or do I stop myself to play the scene in my head in order to answer the questions "would this character really react like that? Would they use such words? Did they in game? Was there any interaction in game that would prove that they have such trait as a part of their personality?" and stuff of such kind. Like, reflecting on the character and trying to imagine. Also being mindful of their abilities not to make them too strong or too weak.
Plus I really depend on the pace. If the character is calm and collected, like Diluc, Alhaitham, Ayato I am trying to keep it just as calm and smooth. When it's someone more emotional, like Kaeya or Kaveh, I'm trying to keep it more animated (if only the scene itself doesn't require the focus on a moment of tranquility). If the man is old, like, inhumanly old, like Pierro, Neuvillette, Zhongli, I try to use a more descriptive language to somehow show their different perspective on the world, especially, in comparison to humans. I don't know how to describe it better, because I do it intuitivily, just like with using English itself (it's not my native language).
Oh, by the way, be prepared to google! Probably a lot. Especially if you strike for accuracy.
Also remember that rewriting a scene you've already written, but didn't like - is not a bad thing!
Another thing - which is now really is personal and not everyone would agree with me - I do not make reader completely faceless. I look at the character and think of the realistic ways the two could've met and end up together. What traits could attract this character, what occupation reader could have that'd fit nicely and interestingly in the story (while avoiding the tropes i do not like - boss x employee, for example), how would they be like in a relationship, what details I could create just for the two of them to share in the everyday routine life and so on.
That's honestly all I could've thought of. Probably there is more, but I can't quite grasp it. I started writing years ago and I admit - my first works are CRINGE. So, I suppose, it's a matter of time and growing experience. Do not be afraid to start! With time you'll notice that you develop your own writing style - the way you like to describe things, the genre you prefer, the tropes that bring you joy, the scenarios you find most captivating. I am a firm believer in writing what brings you joy. And once you do, you'll find readers who share your ideas and then it'll be even easier to write, because you'll know that there are people, who support you.
Hope I helped at least a little bit ^^ Good luck in your beginnings, dear!

Okay, so my little test run is officially 5K+ and I've only just started the smut-- I may be charmed by the idea of Izou/Nikia/Thatch.
But on a side note I've started developing some horrifying cryptid threats native to her islands specifically so scroll on if that doesn't interest you.
I've started specifically with what I lovingly call 'Snipe Owls' which are fucking massive and rarely seen by anyone but rest assured, they are there.
They closely resemble barn owls but have these trailing feathers they dangle in conjunction with spreading their wings over their head. Giving a false impression of where their eyes are as they take aim. I haven't nailed down the how's, but they have a pocket of fluid that freezes when exposed to air and they spit it out at high speeds towards their prey. Effectively sniping as a form of hunting.
They prefer to stay in wooded areas and the process of moving the fluid into a 'ready' stance produces a sound best described as 'a gurgling scream under rustling leaves' which is their feathers moving to distract their prey and make them look in their direction. Which is necessary because their favorite prey is very skittish and has incredibly dense skin.
Like rabbits but Big As Fuck with bear claws, they dig burrows into dense snow. Their ears are massive and come in sets of two and three. Two for make and three for females. They naturally have observation haki as a defense mechanism. They bolt at the slightest sign of trouble but can be caught off guard. Their weak spot is their eyes, which is why they have false spots just above where the brow bone is thickest. You're not likely to penetrate their pelt with any conventional blade, making them incredibly difficult to skin. But their meat is a delicacy and their pelt prized for coats. A skilled butcher can manage with fine tools but unless you can use haki, it's no easy feat.
Despite being known for their timid and skittish nature, they have been known to react violently to intruders inside their burrows. So if someone has the misfortune of collapsing a tunnel and falling in, they rarely make it out. And not just because they're effectively trapped. Your best bet when hunting is to remain outside their burrows, no matter how easy it is to infiltrate.
I've considered a massive 'retired' sea king that more or less sleeps just off the shore of the islands. An excellent excuse for why bigger ships are personally escorted to and from the island. Just to ensure no one accidentally wakes Old Joey. Just for fun. Likes to curl around the mini fishman/mermaid city between the islands. Just an old dude who likes to vibe lol
As a side note, Snipe Owl feathers are a sign of a superior gunsman, specifically snipers. It's tradition for a sniper to successfully hunt and kill a Snipe Owl and retrieve it to be harvested. Not particularly liked for their meat, it is still fairly tasty and their bones make for great crafting materials, if a little fragile. The feathers are made into a caplet to be worn during official ceremonies. In conjunction with a Snow Rabbit's pelt jacket, few every feel the need for better clothing. Which is why it's a rite of passage to take down a Snow Rabbit as a test of skill and present the creature to be made into a custom coat.
Naturally, Nikia has both a Snow Rabbit jacket and a Snipe Owl caplet. Her specialty weapon is a sniper rifle after all. Both hunts requiring excellent tracking and haki use to pull off safely.
These two animals are all I've got so far as decent explanations for how people can just 'go missing' without a lot of fuss after breaking the laws. Some are genuine misfortunes, but more often the rangers stepped in to take care of it to ensure the safety of the Islanders and guests.
#mittens rambles#back on my bullshit#as per usual#one piece oc#hilarious idea neither of them realize#they still think shes just a guide and host basically#her role in the war is a special circumstance they'll address later#it just genuinely never came up#how do u tell bae you'd be legally obligated to execute him if he stepped wrong??
