I started a new routine, and it's actually excellent!! 🥰
So, I've always struggled with exercising. It's boring and painful and sweaty and gross. It always made me feel more tired, not more awake, and I just hated it. But now, at the ripe ol' age of 30-ish, I've finally figured something out! And it genuinely feels good, so I'm recommending it here to anyone interested. 😊👍
First of all, DISCLAIMER: I have a stationary bike. This is what I primarily use. That's actually an important part of this, though if you have a treadmill or w/e, it'd probably work, too! Just something where you're not using your hands.
Secondly, I have resistance bands, though that's not AS important. But, the part where I mention them, I feel like they could be replaced with weights or something else hand/arm related.
Thirdly, I play games on PS5. This routine probably works so well because of that fact. Mobile players can also probably continue reading past this point, as can anyone who plays with a wireless controller, but mouse & keyboard players might just want to leave now... Sorry. 🙏💕
Anyways!
I've been dutifully doing my dailies on everything ever since I started playing Genshin Impact. Resin runs, teapot, expeditions, the works. I now play Wuthering Waves, Genshin, HSR, & Zenless (in that order)...
The order isn't necessarily important(???), but it helps. 😅
So, what does this have to do with exercise...?
Well!
First thing I do in the morning, after getting up and ready for the day, is make breakfast. I eat, watch a roughly 30min video with my wife while doing so, and that allows my food to settle. Then, I take my water/gatorade/drink of choice and my coffee over to my bike, which I have a little table next to, and boot up my Playstation.
This is where things start.
Basically, during my dailies, I ride my bike. My hands are free to hold & operate the controller while I go through the daily grind, and it really REALLY helps me to be relaxed during my ride, because the game is a big distraction from my discomforts in exercising! My dailies (through all 4 games) are also always about 1hr long, so it keeps my exercise time consistent and concise! But, there's some nuance...
See, I bring my coffee over with me because I prioritize drinking the whole thing while riding. Why? Because caffeine enters your body more thoroughly if ingested while or before being active! I oftentimes finish the whole thing first, then move on to my water, and after drinking coffee while riding my bike, I GENUINELY feel more energized, and I've cut my caffeine intake in half because of that fact! I even used to drink the whole coffee before or after and still felt tired, but during has helped A LOT!! But anyways...
I also mentioned prior that I use resistance bands to work out my arms... but how, if I'm gaming? Well, that's where HSR comes into play! I set the game to auto-battle and do reps of 15 for each set of 5 different exercises with my bands while it's going, only needing to briefly stop to click the "reapeat battle" button sometimes, or go into the menus to move onto a different/new material for progression... It honestly works like a charm, and I stay on the bike while doing so, so it's double the workout! 💪💪
Then, lastly, after I've done all my dailies, I tend to log out of Zenless, turn off my console, get off my bike/refill my water, and then do one or two chores around the house, using them as a replacement for a "cool down". Then I'll shower, get dried & dressed, and happily sit down after all that work feeling awake, productive, and refreshed! And it only takes ~2½ hrs.
So, to summarize:
cook & eat breakfast, rest for 30min
get coffee, get on leg-only exercise machine
drink coffee, THEN water, while exercising
exercise arms during HSR auto-battle
rest arms during Zenless, log off, turn off PS5
do a couple of chores, shower, & prosper!! 🌟
Obviously the games in question can be substituted for any other type of media, but I'm just hopeful my routine/ideas might resonate with someone else who's struggling with physical health & wellness!
And, as always, I wish you sillies a beautiful day. 🌅
Have fun! 👋😊 and thanks for reading 💕

Ozen's pretty similar to Pearl steven universe in that she'd probably fuck you if you didn't mind her using you as a substitute for her ex
instant coffee would be a pretty refreshing beverage if you didn't mind the ice and the little pinch of salt

AKO by Lee
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On April 6th, I went to an event with my friend. It was hosted by GAWA (a creative collective based in San Diego). It was a mixer event called, "Backyard Soundcheck", where they showcase multiple local DJ's, along with a few Filipino-owned small business vendors.
One of the vendors is AKO, where they specialize in making teas, coffee, and matcha! While my friend order a hojicha latte, I ordered a matcha latte. This is not our first time discovering AKO, since the non-profit organization that I am in has actually partnered with them in a couple events throughout the year!
Back to the drinks, although I find that the flavors were really good in regards to their balance in sweetness and richness, the price seemed fairly expensive compared to how small their cup sizes were. But I would still buy and support them considering how it is a small Filipino-owned business based in Southern California.
I do say that their matcha is one of my top favorite out of all the other matcha places I have tried. Their drinks are not too sweet, but it distinct flavor makes me want to drink more of it! They also do not charge for oat milk substitutes, which I find almost every other coffee place does (even at the boba spot I work at charges for milk substitutes). I also find myself comparing this business with Kubo Coffee, considering how their markets are niche within a tight schedule.
I feel like they were a perfect vendor for this event, since their aesthetic fits along the earthy and neutral tone of the environment---similar to the Kubo Coffee place I went to. Their customer service is also top notch and very enthusiastic. They also seem like they are very knowledgable in their coffee and teas when you ask them questions about their menu.
I did not try these items at the event, but I have tried it before---and it is their lychee infused black tea and their sticky rice tea! I do say that these teas are strong, and has a taste that some might like or dislike. But, it is absolutely perfect for those who don't really have a sweet tooth. Overall I find that their drinks are perfectly refreshing when it comes to the hot summer weather that is coming up!
I had a great time at the event, and I would say that AKO was the only vendor that I had the initiative to purchase from during the entirety of the mixer.
They don't have a specific store location, but they do make profit based on the gigs they schedule with other notable brands alongside San Diego, Los Angeles, and Orange County. It is an underrated gem considering how you would need to find them through various events, and not through a weekly schedule.

Starbucks Vocab:
DM - District Manager
SM - Store Manager
ASM - Assistant Store Manager
Proxy - A manager from another location who acts as a substitute for a store’s SM when they’re absent
Shift Lead/Shift - Shift Supervisor
Partners - Starbucks Employees
Connections - Partner/Customer Interaction
Connection Score - A score on a scale of 1-100 determining your store’s rate of connection with customers
Hot Bar - Where espresso drinks, teas, and matchas are made
Cold bar - Where frappucinos, refreshers, iced teas, iced coffee, and cold brews are made
Tumblr media
kung lao
- works at a cafe store in a popular shopping center with raiden (jr.)
- pretty good at customer connections, primarily with the older ladies lol, older men don’t rlly like him
- barista, tried and got promoted to shift lead but demoted himself after the first week, thought it was too much work lol
- godly on bar, loves cold bar
- mf stays arguing with rude customers
- always puts his music on the in-store speakers
- it’s all 2010s club music
- most unserious person in the planet
- liu kang wrote him up once and all he said was ‘aight shawty damn’
- literally gives no fucks
- barista trainer, at first he only chose to do it for the bonus pay, but realized he really likes teaching the newbies plus he’s really good at it so he’s stuck to it
- bro is always filming tik toks at work that should definitely get him fired but he’s too good of a worker to be let go
- i can imagine him making parody videos making fun of that joboi dude, like bruh wtf is a griddy frappucino
- he usually gets a grande cold brew with a splash of sweet cream and three pumps toffee nut, but loves a good peach green tea lemonade too
Tumblr media
raiden (jr.)
- was also a barista, but offered to promote to shift lead after kung lao quit and got the job almost instantaneously
- gets along with everyone, almost none of the customers give him trouble, and honestly how could they?
- elders love him, children love him, older women love him, teenage girls love him, he’s very well loved
- pretty well-rounded and is great on all positions, but front and warming is his strength
- constantly meal violating because he’s always scheduled for mid-shift and he works at a high volume store that gets most of the rush in the afternoons, so he’s always stepping in to help even if he’s on break
- someone please make this man eat his lunch
- always makes sure the floor is prefect before passing it on to the next shift, best believe he’ll have ovens done, floors done, cards done, ice bins done, lobby checked, stations restocked, all the other shifts are resisting the urge to kiss him on the mouth after they transition with each other
- doesn’t bend the rules too much
- that being said, he refuses to throw out the food at the end of the night. he won't tell you to take anything, but will definitely turn a blind eye
- wiping down the counters for his partners on the floor when it’s really busy is his love language
- bro eats like an old man, he’s constantly marking out oatmeal for every break, he’s like 15% oatmeal now
- he drinks the brewed coffee??? with cream and two splendas if he’s feeling sweet?????? not even an iced espresso, straight up pike. mf is an old soul fr, kung lao can’t stand it
- only exception is when he sometimes gets a tall iced matcha with coconut milk
- he was raised by his grandfather (raiden sr.), who is also his namesake
- loves his grandpa so much, it’s actually so endearing
- definitely could become an ASM if he wanted to, but he prefers being a shift since he’s still figuring himself out
Tumblr media
liu kang
- he’s the store manager lol
- was offered to promote but chose not to, too much responsibility and he saw how disconnected district managers are from their baristas, and prefers working with them more closely
- is fed up with kung lao’s shit but can’t bring himself to fire him
- someone ordered the griddy frappucino once when he was on register, nearly short circuited
- constantly working on his dissertation, how he’s even pursuing an education and being such a good SM at once is beyond anyone’s understanding
- when asked how, he just says he meditates, which is not the advice most people expect or really want if we’re being honest
- super patient with his coworkers, and usually lets the petty stuff go
- wearing something slightly out of dress code? as long as it’s not a health code violation he doesn’t give a shit. got an apron pin that isn’t starbucks-approved? as long as it doesn’t have any profanity he couldn’t care less
- always has his trademark calm demeanor, but the only people who have ever managed to make him crack are kung lao (duh), johnny cage (double duh), and shang tsung (triple quadruple duh)
- His main drink is a trenta iced passion tea with no water and three splendas, or a tall cold brew with two pumps of sugar free vanilla, a packet of stevias, and a splash of coconut milk, usually enjoys it with a spinach feta wrap
- very healthy very granola indeed
Tumblr media
shang tsung:
- is that regular that only ever seems to come in to give the baristas a hard time
- places orders that make the sticker the length of a novel and it changes every time
- it only gets worse when liu kang is on bar
- “may i have a trenta iced coffee blended with extra water, extra ice, twelve pumps of caramel, twelve pumps of classic, extra soy milk, extra coconut milk, extra almond milk, vanilla sweet cold foam, chocolate cream cold foam, matcha cold foam, and two splenda packets”
- no amount of meditative breathing can stop liu kang from nearly popping a vein every time he comes in
- he never even drinks the shit he orders
- always sends it back even if he didn’t even take a single sip
- throws it in the trash on the way out the door and makes sure everyone sees him do it
- what even is his drink order??
- sometimes comes into the store in costume pretending to be someone else (it’s obviously him)
- the ultimate grinch but just for liu kang
- comes in on christmas every year and hands everyone envelopes with their names on them, everyone’s envelope has $50 in it while liu kang’s envelope only has a dollar
- just an overall menace
- apparently was liu kang’s biochemistry professor his sophomore year of college, the beef has been going on since then
- when will it ever end? how did it even start? no one knows
Tumblr media
johnny cage:
- doesn’t work at starbies either, instead he’s an ex-actor and entertainment business mogul that stops by before his meetings
- always stopping in cause he gets bored
- even chats it up w/ the regulars every now and then, usually kenshi
- speaking of kenshi, they were best friends in high school and college and have kept in touch since
- it’s also worth mentioning they were both total losers in high school
- they also were in a band together in their college years
- at first, partners at this store thought he was kind of obnoxious, liu kang included, but he won them over when he almost got in an argument with shang tsung in the parking lot and punched him
- no one made themselves an official witness but everyone talked about it
- gets a venti iced americano with two pumps of hazelnut and cream
Tumblr media
Ashrah:
- she’s so sweet y’all
- an ASM at Kitana’s location
- pretty straight edge
- gets along well with everyone on the team and often is in charge of coordinating holiday parties, store meetings, and activities
- is very passionate in the whole community outreach thing, and has won the award for it multiple times
- comes from a rough background, so she applied at starbucks specifically for their free college program with Arizona State
- basically corporate’s employee wet dream
- that doesn’t mean she’s totally okay with the way they handle things, and sometimes bickers with kitana over how the store should be run
- hates hates HATES the forced connections thing, she believes conversation and interest in others should be genuine, not a sales tactic
- usually gets a grande iced black tea with strawberry açaí base, or a hot mocha with oatmilk
Tumblr media
kitana:
- works as a store manager for a drive-thru location near a high school, but serves as a proxy for liu kang’s store
- rules that place with an iron fist, most of the baristas are scared of her
- but that usually goes away when they realize she’s a massive dork
- she pulled into the drive thru in a naruto t-shirt and hello kitty pajama pants once on one of her off-days and the illusion was shattered for everyone
- plays k-pop over the speakers and insists it’s a starbucks playlist (it’s not)
- girl is always stressed and always tired, doesn’t know how liu kang is still sane
- loves unpacking the carson order, it’s a nice getaway from the pressure of drive times and connection scores, plus she gets first dibs on any cute cups
- speaking of, she’s a chronic cup hoarder, it doesn’t matter if the cup is ugly, she still wants it
- almost cried when raspberry was discontinued
- gets an iced quad espresso with two pumps of vanilla and a splash of soy in a venti cup
Tumblr media
mileena:
- also an SM for a different drive-thru location next to a grocery store, her and kitana are almost like day and night
- tanya is her asm, but they’re dating so she’s in the process of transferring to another location
- tried keeping it under wraps but truthfully they’re fooling no one
- girl is really just there for the vibes
- she would be bordering on terrible manager if she didn’t let her partners have fun
- wanna put your music on the speakers? go ahead but if she thinks your music sucks she’ll make you do a trash run
- forgot to request a specific day off three weeks ahead? you’re good, she hasn’t even made the schedule for that week yet lol
- are you batching frappucinos? thank fuck, she’s really trying to get those drive times down
- someone being a dick? let her know so she can argue with them lol
- whatever you do tho, keep those connections scores up. it’s the one thing she really gives a shit about
- her store is a high theft store, so she’s been doing her best to keep the store and her partners safe, but is always super paranoid when she works a closing shift
- trying to reach her phone on a day off is borderline impossible unless the store is being robbed or someone is dying, bi-han is her proxy but he’s not very friendly either so you’re fucked either way
- was also devastated when raspberry was discontinued
- gets a grande iced chai with oatmilk, two pumps of hazelnut, and strawberry cold foam, she’ll add on a couple blonde shots if she’s working an early shift
Tumblr media
sindel:
- she’s the DM, it used to be kronika but she was fired for reasons no one will disclose
- vast improvement, let me tell you
- goes harder on both milleena and kitana, she refuses to let her daughters benefit from nepotism
- admires liu kang greatly, and was very disappointed when he rejected an offer to become a DM at a different district
- venti iced americano with 3 splendas and soy milk
- scary but nice
Tumblr media
raiden sr.
- y’all know i couldn’t leave him out
- he wasn’t really in the new game but he’s too important
- doesn’t work at starbies at all, but is one of liu kang’s professors in college
- he is very fond of liu kang, they work closely together on his dissertation
- stops in every morning to see his grandson and his student, usually gets a black coffee or an earl grey tea
- is constantly scolding kung lao, he considers him a second grandchild and unfortunately that manifests in constant nagging
- loves his grandson to death and is very proud of him, but expresses it in a way that only raiden (jr.) and kung lao understand
- always beefing w/ shang tsung, except unlike liu kang’s beef w/ him, this shit goes back DECADES
- literally rancid beef
- always dissing each other
- shang tsung: surprised to see you here
- raiden: i come here almost every day, are you so old that your memory is failing you?
- shang tsung: i’m just surprised to see you haven’t died yet, old man
Tumblr media
bi-han:
- SM at a high volume drive store located next to a busy highway and proxy for milleena’s store, hates his life and hates his job
- he barely likes anyone aside from his brother and tomas
- so friendly to customers that it’s unnerving to the partners on the floor with him
- seeing his customer service smile is so terrifying to everyone that knows him
- it gives like,,,,american psycho vibes
- only reason no one’s completely terrified of him is because he insists on wearing his fucked up high top vans to work and they aren’t non-slip so he’s constantly sliding around
- at this point he’s hoping he falls so he can go home early or injure himself badly enough to go on medical leave
- grabs the scalding hot dishes fresh out of the dishwasher with his bare hands just to feel something
- also doesn’t give much of a shit about the dress code, just don’t make it a problem with the food and health department
- loves hot bar, but hates that he has to talk to people because the hand off is right next to the espresso machine
- because of this, he’s usually on customer support
- he would quit if it wasn’t for sareena, his ASM, she’s the one thing keeping that place from falling apart
- has to take a smoke break after every shift
- someone PLEASE tell this man that coffee and a cigarette isn’t a meal
- huge coffee hipster, borderline pretentious and hates the bullshit that starbucks teaches
- “dead shots aren’t real, you idiot” - bi-han to tomas at some point
- never makes drinks to standard, always changes it to what he thinks is better
- “you’re supposed to pour the shots over the ic—“ “—no, it makes the shots taste like shit” - also bi-han to tomas at some point
- somewhat appreciates covid for the fact that it normalized wearing a face mask, it’s rare to ever see the bottom half of his face
- fell to his knees when the very berry refresher was discontinued
- that was the start of his villain arc
- now he only drinks a straight up iced quad blonde espresso, no cream, no sugar, no nothing
- however, he does love a good pour over
- tried the griddy frappucino in secret and loved it, fell to his knees a second time in despair
Tumblr media
kuai liang:
- no one ever believes him when he says he’s bi-han’s brother because they’re so different
- consistent with connections, but always seems to attract the strangest of people so it usually ends awkwardly
- ultimate multitasker, excels in front and warming
- constantly burning his hands tho
- he keeps trying to convince bi-han to wear non-slip shoes
- he bought him those non-slip crocs and bi-han stopped talking to him for a week
- popular with teenage girls that come in because they think he’s dark and mysterious
- he’s just awkward
- hates the taste of coffee
- usually gets a pineapple passsion fruit lemonade with passion tea and no inclusions, he thinks they’re gross
Tumblr media
smoke (tomas):
- literally carrying the majority of bi-han’s store’s connection score on his back
- big sweetheart, but kinda gullible and a bit of a pushover with customers
- let them start shit with other partners though, if you wanna see him mad
- wears the non-slip crocs that kuai liang bought for bi-han since he didn’t want them
- his barista love language is swapping out the sanitizer buckets and emptying the grounds drawers during peak
- people call him smoke cause he’s burnt so many cookies in the oven
- please don’t have this man on front and warming he’ll burn the store down
- average london fog enthusiast

DP OC Parade, Day 4: Cafe or Bar?
Title: The Irregular Regular
Summary: You work at a cafe in Amity Park. One of your regular customers is a strange woman named Callie, who shows up at exactly 7am everyday. But one day, she doesn’t. And then you wonder if she’s human.
Word Count: 2,668
Your shift at the cafe was almost always 6am-4pm on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. You got a few regulars. They showed up at around the same time about once a day, or week, or month. But of them, no regular stood out to you the way Callie did.
She showed up at exactly 7am every morning, and you meant it when you said exactly. The very second the clock said it was 7, she arrived. Every single day.
She usually ordered a cappuccino. She never asked for any specific preparation or substitutions, just a simple cappuccino. But every once in a while (probably once a week or so) she’d get something else. It was usually a drink she hadn’t tried before, but occasionally she was craving something she’d tried in the past. Apart from a cappuccino, you’d noticed that she got hot chocolate the most.
She seemingly had a preference for sweet and milky drinks. She was also definitely more of a coffee person than a tea person. But she wasn’t picky at all. She could enjoy the occasional espresso, a strong and bitter matcha, or a refreshing herbal tea. She just wasn’t in the mood for them as often, apparently.
She also liked to treat herself to some of the pastries and desserts the cafe sold sometimes, probably a couple times a week. There wasn’t one specific thing she bought a lot, but she seemed to mostly get things with warm spices and/or fruit of some kind. But again, she really wasn’t picky whatsoever, so sometimes she bought something you never would’ve expected her to want.
You once brought up her lack of pickiness in conversation with her. She told you that she just loved new experiences, and there really weren’t any flavors she could think of that she disliked. So, as long as the cafe made good food and drinks, which it did, she knew she’d enjoy anything. She also confessed that she liked smelling all the different things she bought to get inspiration for her candle shop.
Oh, yeah, she also owned a candle shop, and she never shut up about it. Not that you were complaining. You liked hearing her talk about her candle shop. It made her so happy and excited, you couldn’t help but be happy too.
Callie was very nice. She always smiled, asked about your day, tipped well, and complimented the latte art whenever there was any. She often complimented the appearance of any baked goods she got, too.
Once she got what she’d ordered, she’d take it, thank you, and immediately walk towards a table in the corner. If someone was already at that table, she’d sit at the closest one to it available, without complaint or even a hint of annoyance on her face.
She always smelled her drink before taking a sip. If she had food, she’d always try a bite of it right after her first sip, and she smelled it before trying it too. She never had a phone, a book, someone else with her, or anything that would keep her mind occupied while she ate. She remained entirely focused on her food the whole time.
And through it all, she smiled. She appeared to enjoy every moment spent in the cafe. She said she’d made candles inspired by the cafe. She’d even made a candle inspired by you and gifted it to you. That little act of kindness probably could’ve been anything from the greatest form of compliment to the equivalent of a greeting card to her. Either way, you appreciated it. A lot of thought was put into it. And it did smell nice.
But you had to admit, when you first met Callie, you found her creepy. You weren’t sure what it was.
Maybe her expressions. That earnest, sweet smile combined with that slightly dead look in her eyes. Maybe it was that constant sing-song tone in her voice, like the host of a kids show. Maybe it was her laugh. That shallow crackly cackle that sounded like it could turn maniacal at any second. Maybe it was how she never seemed tired.
Or maybe it was just the fact that she showed up every single morning, at EXACTLY 7am, without fail, and then followed the exact same routine from that point forward, expression barely ever changing. And it wasn’t just the days you worked. You asked your coworkers, and they all confirmed that she did the exact same thing every day of the week.
Nearly everything about Callie was uncanny. That was a truth that never changed.
But your opinion of her changed.
Eventually, you realized that she was one of your kindest customers. You realized that you liked talking to her. You realized that you got ever so slightly excited whenever it was almost 7am. She was odd, but that didn’t really matter. She wasn’t doing anything wrong. And you liked her.
Then, one seemingly auspicious Tuesday, the clock struck 7:01, and she was nowhere to be seen. She wasn’t coming.
You didn’t consider the possibility that she was just running late. It didn’t even cross your mind. Callie didn’t run late, and in your mind, that was a fact as indisputable as the Earth not being flat.
But it was fine. Sometimes regulars didn’t show up. Sometimes they’re on vacation, or they want to try a new cafe, or something comes up. There’s any number of reasons someone might not show up. It was no cause for alarm.
BUT IT WAS CALLIE! She’d never go on vacation, not when she’d have to leave her candle shop behind. Naturally, not every customer could show up everyday, but Callie was the most unnatural person you’d ever met. The only thing more unnerving than her showing up everyday was her randomly not showing up.
You couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong. But, at the same time, you couldn’t do anything about it. So you just spent your shift feeling nervous and uncomfortable.
When your shift ended, you hoped that being away from your job would help make the worry go away, and in some ways, it did. You weren’t constantly thinking about it anymore. But every time something reminded you of Callie, it came back.
You didn’t enjoy your day off on Wednesday as much as usual. For once, you wished you were at work. Then you’d know if she arrived today or not. But, then again, maybe you didn’t want to know. If she still didn’t show up, well… would it be safe to assume she was never coming back?
No, no, obviously not. Two days wasn’t enough to assume she moved, or went missing, or died, or whatever. But still, Callie not showing up for two days would be very worrying. And you really didn’t want to think about that.
You didn’t even know her that well. There was no reason for it to freak you out this much. But it just wasn’t right.
Thursday morning, you felt the familiar sensation of adrenaline building as 7 neared. But it wasn’t from excitement this time. It was nervousness.
You didn’t know if you were expecting her to show up or not. You didn’t know if you expected her to show up injured, or fine, or looking upset for once. You probably weren’t expecting anything in particular. But you weren’t expecting whatever happened to be good.
It was 6:59, and about to be 7. You held your breath…
But you didn’t have to hold it for very long. Because the second the clock said it was 7am, you heard the ring of the front door, and Callie walked in. She looked calm and happy, just as she always did. No visible injuries, and no sign of sickness or any accidents. From what you could tell, she was fine.
She smiled and waved at you. You let out a sigh of relief.
She raised an eyebrow as she approached the counter. “Is something wrong? You look a little concerned.”
“You didn’t show up on Tuesday. I thought something might’ve happened,” you admitted. It was a bit embarrassing to say out loud, but why bother hiding it? And you just had to ask, “Where were you?”
“I see… that’s a good question. Tuesday, you said? Where was—“ She snapped. “AH! I remember! That was the day those ghost hunters stopped by.”
“Ghost hunters..?” You hesitantly echoed.
She nodded. “Yeah, I think they were called… Guys In White? A bit on the nose, if you ask me.” She shrugged. “They showed up to investigate me, and they were following me everywhere. I didn’t want to come to such a nice establishment and cause them to disturb you, too.”
You took a second to process that information. It made sense, except for one obvious thing. “Why were they investigating you, exactly?”
“Something about weak signals coming from the direction of my shop and not finding any records of my existence?” Her eyebrows furrowed as she thought. “I don’t get it, though. Why do I need any documents to prove I exist? I’m right here, aren’t I? I’d say that’s sufficient evidence.”
She looked at you quietly, waiting to hear your opinions on the matter. You didn’t know what to say. On one hand, proving you exist wasn’t really the point of that sort of thing. On the other hand, Callie wasn’t wrong. She was right there.
In the end, you nodded. She was content with that.
“There was something else, too,” she continued. “They said it was odd that I don’t have a house or apartment to live in. But I already have the shop. I know that may not be enough for some people, but for me, anything more just seems excessive, you know?”
Now that you did have opinions on. You nodded more enthusiastically this time. “They expect you to have enough money to buy a house or rent an apartment and own a store? In this economy? You’re a small business selling candles. There’s no way you’d have the funds for that!”
She nodded too. “Good point! I hadn’t even thought of that. I mean, I have quite a bit of money in my savings account, but most of it has to go into keeping the store running. If I had to pay rent on top of that, I might not be able to treat myself to coffee like this. Speaking of which, I’d like a cappuccino, please!”
You smiled. Showing up, saying some of the weirdest stuff you’ve ever heard, and then ordering her coffee with a smile and a “please,” was the most Callie like thing Callie’d ever done.
“Got it! Anything else?”
She looked at the food for a second, then shook her head. “No, thanks. I don’t really feel like eating today.”
You tried not to show it on your face, but that sentence paused your thoughts. You’d never thought about the way she phrased that before. “I don’t feel like eating today.” It was what she always said. It implied that she wouldn’t be eating anything at all for the entire day.
You’d always just brushed it off as her being weird, because of course she had to eat sometime. But you doubted there would be a kitchen in her candle shop. And she’d just admitted to living there.
Did she just always get restaurant food? But if she did she wouldn’t have much money in her saving’s account. Not if she barely had the money to buy coffee as it is.
Everything led to one conclusion. One, very odd, conclusion: Callie didn’t need to eat.
You tried to push the thought away. You started to prepare her drink, and engaged in some idle chitchat about the weather with her. But your mind was elsewhere, no matter how hard you tried to pull it to where you were.
She lived at her candle shop. And it was all she ever talked about. Never family, never friends, never anything but her candle shop, the cafe, and you. You’d kinda just assumed she was a private person. But now you were wondering if she really had a life outside of it.
Now you were wondering if she really had a life at all. You were wondering if all she had was what came after.
You didn’t know much about ghosts, but no one could live in Amity Park without picking up some information. One of the few things you did know was that the rest of the world was mistaken about a lot.
For example, ghosts didn’t really haunt, per se. They more just… obsess. Ghosts were fueled by obsession. And sometimes their obsession was a place, and sometimes there was just a place connected to their obsession. And when that happened, they’d usually stick around that place a lot.
Basically, if a ghost was obsessed with, say, a candle shop, they might spend all their time there. And if a ghost was obsessed with candles…
Then they’d hang around a candle shop for the candles. They’d like how being there would let them spend all day surrounded by candles. And it’d be even better if they owned it, because then they’d get to make their own candles, and help others find candles they loved, and they’d get to do it all the time.
And they’d struggle to think or talk about anything other than that shop and candles, because they’d be obsessed, and because they’d hardly have anything outside of those things.
When they did leave their shop, likely to socialize, they’d mostly go places that could give them inspiration. They’d like analyzing what scents are associated with certain places.
She’d also like analyzing what scents people liked, and what scents she associated with them. She’d want to give gifts of candle to the people she liked. And she’d value the scent and appearance of food over its taste.
If a ghost was obsessed with candles, everything would make sense.
But that was none of your business! If Callie actually was a ghost, why would you care? It’s not like she was hurting anyone. Surely you would’ve heard about it by now if she was. She was just running a candle shop. And despite what horror media acted like, ghosts weren’t all that scary when they weren’t actively attacking people.
Actually, if Callie was a ghost, that’d make her a bit less creepy, you realized. The way she was never tired, her perfect punctuality, and her constant smile. Not all of those were exactly ghost traits, (you were pretty sure, but again, you weren’t an expert,) but every ghost was uniquely eccentric in some ways. Even if her weirdness wasn’t common for ghosts, just her being a ghost made it less weird.
Her creepiness had always come from something being off about her. From her not seeming quite human. But if she wasn’t human, then that got rid of that uncanny feeling.
Again, though, none of your business. Theorizing about it felt pretty rude. Not as rude as actually stalking her about it, but still.
(You were starting to feel really bitter towards the GIW. Going out of their way to hunt and harass an innocent ghost— possible ghost, who was just trying to live a peaceful afterlife. Who did they think they were? Callie was nice. She was your friend. She didn’t deserve to be hunted or sent back to the Ghost Zone or anything.)
You shook yourself away from your thoughts as you handed Callie her coffee. She waited for you tell her the total before paying, even though she knew the price by now. She thanked you, complimented the latte art, and went to her spot in the corner.
As you watched her smile contently and sniff her coffee, you got over your bargaining and denial, skipped right past anger and depression, and arrived at acceptance. Only one thought was in your mind:
Callie was definitely a ghost.
And that was fine.

☕ Brewing the Perfect Dalgona Coffee for the Ultimate Study Session ☕
Hello, coffee lovers and study enthusiasts! If you’re looking for a delightful way to power through your study sessions, look no further than the trending Dalgona coffee (After all, I am a self-proclaimed expert at making this yummy treat).
This frothy, sweet coffee drink is not only delicious but also super easy to make. Let's dive into creating the perfect Dalgona coffee to fuel your brain.
(I hopped on the Dalgona coffee trend during quarantine and I never left! Dalgona has been so good to me, maybe you'll enjoy it too!)
Ingredients You’ll Need:
2 tablespoons instant coffee
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons hot water
Milk (any kind you prefer)
Ice cubes (optional, for a cold version)
Step-by-Step Guide to Dalgona Heaven:
1. Gather Your Ingredients First things first, gather all your ingredients. Ensure your instant coffee, sugar, and hot water are in equal parts. This balance is crucial for achieving that perfect fluffy texture.
2. Mix the Coffee, Sugar, and Hot Water In a mixing bowl, combine the instant coffee, sugar, and hot water. Using a hand whisk, electric mixer, or even a spoon, whip the mixture until it becomes thick and frothy. This can take anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes. You'll know it's ready when it forms stiff peaks and has a caramel-like color.
3. Prepare Your Milk While your coffee mixture is whipping into perfection, prepare your milk. Fill a glass with your preferred milk. You can use regular cow's milk, almond milk, soy milk, or oat milk—whatever floats your boat. Add ice cubes if you want a refreshing cold Dalgona coffee.
4. Top the Milk with Whipped Coffee Once your coffee mixture is whipped and ready, gently spoon it over your glass of milk. The thick, frothy coffee should sit nicely on top, creating that iconic layered look.
5. Mix and Enjoy! Grab a spoon or straw, mix the whipped coffee into the milk, and take a sip. Enjoy the creamy, sweet, and slightly bitter flavors that dance on your taste buds. It’s the perfect pick-me-up to keep you focused and energized during your study sessions.
Pro Tips:
For a healthier version, you can reduce the amount of sugar or use a sugar substitute.
Experiment with flavors by adding a dash of cinnamon, vanilla extract, or cocoa powder to the whipped coffee mixture- my friends love hazelnut syrup, it's that good.
If you don’t have instant coffee, you can use instant espresso powder for a more robust flavor.
Whipped cream elevates everything, there is always an occasion for deliciousness.
Why Dalgona Coffee is Perfect for Studying:
Quick and Easy: It takes just a few minutes to prepare, so you can get back to your books in no time.
Energy Boost: The caffeine kick helps increase focus and concentration, perfect for those long study sessions.
A Fun Break: Making Dalgona coffee can be a relaxing and enjoyable break from the stress of studying.
So, the next time you need a boost while hitting the books, whip up a glass of Dalgona coffee. Happy studying and happy sipping! ☕📚
What’s your go-to study drink?

the new dunkin menu is so embarrassing...the iced coffee is just the tiktoker collab coffee under a new name, the refresher is one that already existed with a pump of extra flavor, the munchkin skewer is Literally just "existing products on a stick," and the sandwich is a regular breakfast sandwich with minor substitutions. and that leaves the hazelnut coffee which is just. hazelnut coffee.

Starbucks Unveils Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso: Here’s What You Should Know
Tumblr media
Source: retailwire.com
Starbucks has expanded its summer 2025 menu with a refreshing twist on a beloved classic: the Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. This new drink, available for a limited time nationwide, brings a dairy-free spin to the company’s popular shaken espresso line. Drawing inspiration from horchata, a traditional Mexican beverage made from rice, cinnamon, and sugar, Starbucks’ version substitutes oat milk for rice milk and incorporates horchata flavor through a special syrup.
Beverage developer Ricky Gonzalez led the recipe development, collaborating with team members who had personal connections to horchata. “Everyone has a different version of horchata, and for a lot of people, it can be very personal,” Gonzalez said. The result is a drink that aims to balance cultural inspiration with Starbucks’ signature espresso experience.
The drink features Starbucks blonde espresso, oatmilk, ice, and horchata-flavored syrup, shaken together to deliver a smooth and subtly spiced flavor. It joins the ranks of the coffee chain’s popular Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, a fan favorite known for its refreshing, slightly sweet profile.
A Taste Test- What to Expect
Early reviews of the Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso are positive, especially among fans of Starbucks’ iced espresso line. One reviewer noted that the drink manages to preserve the integrity of the coffee flavor while delivering the essence of horchata. Unlike overly sweet espresso drinks that mask the coffee, this new offering maintains a balance between sweetness and bold espresso notes.
The horchata flavor comes through, though some may find it more subtle than expected. For those looking for a stronger cinnamon kick, a key component of traditional horchata, a sprinkle of cinnamon powder can enhance the experience. Overall, the beverage is described as cool, crisp, and satisfying, living up to the reputation of Starbucks’ shaken espresso drinks.
Those familiar with Starbucks’ customization options can easily tweak the drink to their liking, whether by adjusting the syrup amount or adding extra cinnamon. While not overpowering, the Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso successfully channels horchata-inspired flavor in a dairy-free, coffee-forward format.
Summer Menu Highlights Beyond Espresso
The Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso is not the only limited-time treat on Starbucks’ summer 2025 menu. Returning this year are the popular Summer-Berry Starbucks Refreshers Beverages. These vibrant drinks feature a blend of raspberry, blueberry, and blackberry flavors, shaken with ice and water, and served over raspberry-flavored pearls. They’ve become a seasonal staple and offer a fruity, caffeine-free alternative to espresso.
Together, the horchata espresso and berry refreshers reflect Starbucks’ ongoing strategy to deliver inventive and inclusive beverage options. Whether you’re craving bold espresso with a cultural twist or a sweet and fruity refresher, this summer menu offers something for every kind of Starbucks fan, at least while supplies last.

10 Surprising Uses of Baby Wipes Beyond Diaper Changes
Baby wipes are widely known for their role in baby care, particularly during diaper changes. However, these soft, moistened wipes have far more uses than many people realise. Their gentle yet effective cleaning properties make them incredibly versatile, offering solutions to everyday problems beyond baby-related tasks. Whether you are a parent or not, keeping a pack of baby wipes handy can be a game-changer in various situations.
From personal care to household cleaning, baby wipes provide a quick and convenient way to freshen up, remove dirt, and tackle small messes. Unlike traditional cleaning products that may contain harsh chemicals, baby wipes are generally formulated to be mild and safe for delicate skin, making them suitable for multiple applications.
This guide will explore 10 surprising ways to use baby wipes beyond diaper changes.
1. Quick Hand and Face Cleaning
One of the most common alternative uses of baby wipes is for cleaning hands and faces, especially when soap and water are not readily available. Whether on a road trip, at a park, or simply needing a quick freshen-up after eating, baby wipes offer an easy solution.
Since baby wipes are designed to be gentle on a baby’s sensitive skin, they are generally free from harsh chemicals, making them suitable for all skin types. They can remove dirt, sweat, and food residue without irritating, making them perfect for on-the-go hygiene.
2. Removing Makeup Easily
Baby wipes can be an effective substitute for makeup remover. They can gently wipe away foundation, mascara, and lipstick, making them useful when you need a quick cleanse. For those with sensitive skin, fragrance-free baby wipes may be the best choice to prevent irritation.
Although not a long-term replacement for a dedicated facial cleanser, baby wipes can serve as a handy backup when travelling or in a hurry.
3. Wiping Down Surfaces
Baby wipes are excellent for cleaning various surfaces, from kitchen counters to car dashboards. They can quickly remove dust, small spills, and sticky residues, making them useful for daily household cleaning.
4. Freshening Up Leather Items
Over time, leather accessories such as handbags, wallets, and shoes can accumulate dust and stains. Baby wipes can help remove dirt and restore their appearance without damaging the material. Their soft texture ensures that leather surfaces are cleaned gently without leaving behind excess moisture.
Simply wipe down the leather item and let it air dry naturally. This can help maintain the condition of the material while removing minor scuffs or surface dirt.
5. Taming Hair Frizz and Flyaways
For those who struggle with frizzy hair, baby wipes can be a simple solution. Running a baby wipe over the hair can help reduce static and smooth flyaways, offering a quick fix for unexpected bad hair days.
This is particularly useful in dry weather when static electricity causes hair to become unruly. Baby wipes provide a mild level of moisture that helps control frizz without making the hair too wet.
6. Cleaning Phone and Tablet Screens
Screens on phones, tablets, and laptops can quickly collect fingerprints, smudges, and dust. Baby wipes are a safe and gentle way to clean these surfaces without the need for harsh screen cleaners.
Since baby wipes are damp but not overly wet, they help lift dirt without leaving streaks. To avoid excessive moisture, it is best to turn off the device before wiping and let it air dry for a few moments before switching it back on.
7. Removing Stains from Clothing
Spilled coffee, makeup smudges, or food stains can be frustrating, especially when you are not at home to wash them immediately. Baby wipes can help lift fresh stains before they set, making them a useful emergency stain remover.
8. Cooling and Refreshing the Skin
Baby wipes can provide a quick cooling effect, especially on hot days or after physical activity. Wiping down the face, neck, or arms with a cool baby wipe can leave the skin feeling refreshed.
For an extra cooling sensation, storing a pack of baby wipes in the fridge can make them even more soothing, particularly during the summer months.
9. Wiping Down Pet Paws
For pet owners, baby wipes can be a simple way to clean a pet’s paws after a walk. Whether they have walked on wet grass, dusty roads, or muddy surfaces, a quick wipe can help keep dirt from being tracked into the house.
10. Cleaning Gym Equipment and Yoga Mats
Gym equipment and yoga mats can accumulate sweat and bacteria after use. Baby wipes offer a convenient way to clean them without needing sprays or water.
Final Thoughts
Although baby wipes are mainly associated with diaper changes, their versatility extends far beyond baby care. Whether it is for personal hygiene, cleaning surfaces, or maintaining everyday essentials, these wipes can be a convenient and effective solution in various situations.
Keeping a pack of baby wipes in your car, handbag, or home can make daily tasks easier, proving that they are not just for babies. Their gentle formula, ease of use, and ability to clean efficiently make them a valuable addition to everyday life.
