okay so I literally have the samsung galaxy s7 tablet and I use clip studio paint on it. I think it is totally fine for me at least! The only thing is that idk, if I swap between tabs/apps (for example go to spotify or something) and exit, clip studio has 80% chance of crapping itself and it has to restore the canvas. Otherwise I've been happy w the pen that comes with it, the battery life etc. I've had it for only 2 yrs but I think it's totally cool for the price.
Oh cool, that's good to know! The app crashing is annoying but not a dealbreaker bc i hate tab switching when I'm working on small screens anyway, so I'd probably have my music/references etc on my phone screen while i draw, mostly. Thank you!

A scenario where RK 900 (Detroit become human) goes after Connor's Darling? He thinks that since he's superior, she won't escap- I mean leave him like she did to Connor -🐈
Girl really thought sending one yandere bot away was going to save her 💀. I wanted to make this longer but I kept getting impatient and had writer's block... so maybe I'll revisit this idea in the future.
Upgrades
Yandere! RK900 Scenario
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Female Darling (Can easily ignore the pronouns though), Obsession, Stalking, Invasive behavior, Manipulation, Violence, Secret recordings, PTSD, Implied imprisonment/Isolation, Swearing, Forced relationship implied.
Tumblr media
RK900 is your new partner for your patrols. Many officers working for DPD were assigned one to help them with tasks. However, RK900 wasn't your first partner...
Your first one was an RK800 named 'Connor.'
At first, Connor was a fine android to be partnered with. He did his job well and made excellent conversation. Despite being an android, he provided excellent companionship.
... too much companionship.
You and Connor have investigated quite a few cases. Murder, robberies, potential deviants. To you, Connor was a good partner.
Unfortunately, it seems Connor had a few bugs. After a few missions, Connor started acted strange. He never seemed to leave you alone either.
You had your theories about Connor's behavior. Maybe he was overprotective because of a bug making him do that with his handler? That or maybe... deviancy.
You tried to be rational. There's no way Connor can be deviant. Yet... the evidence was there.
He'd stalk you when off duty, recording anything you do and remembering where you live. He'd get hostile towards your coworkers. Overall he seemed... buggy.
Especially when he was too affectionate with you.
Connor acted too... human. Your partnership was meant to be just that, a partnership between human and android. You thought you could ignore his new odd... quirks.
After all, each time he was brought in to be looked at, he seemed fine. Even if you knew he wasn't, they said he was fixed. You tried to tell yourself he was.
Then Connor started getting worse.
He'd never leave you alone. You locked your home and the android still slipped in. In fact...
The reason Connor was removed from you was due to the fact he tried to 'harm' you. At least, to you it was harmful. Maybe not to Connor.
You had woken up one night to Connor breaking into your home. Before you could get out of bed, Connor had snapped and trapped you in your room. You tried to tell him to leave, to listen.
Instead you remember Connor pinning you to a wall. You barely remember what he was talking about. Something about coworkers, danger, and...
He said you're meant to be his... That no one else is good enough to be yours.
The event was tragic for you. Once Connor was taken to be refurbished and fixed you didn't go to work for weeks. You were just thankful you had a coworker able to help you.
Since then you've been wary of androids. You told the DPD you didn't want another RK800 or android in general. Their response?
They sent you a new model... an RK900.
Yet it reminds you so much of Connor.
You admittedly nearly had a panic attack when you saw the android. He looks identical to Connor. Your superiors even say he's similar, just with better hardware and software... supposedly.
They say he's meant to be an improvement. He isn't Connor, he won't be Connor. He's meant to be better in every way... faster, stronger, smarter, more calculating...
But none of that sounds good to you.
You never tried to get too close to RK900. You called him what he was, RK900. You refused to call him Connor or any other name.
You felt minor relief when RK900 respected your lack of companionship. At least he knew you were only interested in doing your job. You just hope it stays that way.
RK900 on the other hand... still seemed attentive to his human companion. Yet, he was colder, but the android seemed to observe your every move. He wasn't sure why...
But he kept scanning you, looking for info to try and be more accommodating to you.
You never trusted RK900. In fact, you tried to stay distant. You could never look him in the face for long... and RK900 never quite understood that.
You'd catch him bringing you coffee or lunch. You'd allow him to protect you during investigations. He's even saved your life a couple times in your career once you were back to work.
Yet you reminded yourself technology can always go wrong....
You always get worried around RK900. Anything from long stares to overly touchy behavior scares you. It all reminded you of Connor.
Even when you were pulled off work for a psychological evaluation, you still caught sight of RK900 watching you. You tried to tell yourself he's just a machine. He's not Connor.
But you're so damn scared.
RK900 knows your fear. He isn't sure what hurt you until he looked into your files. An RK800 model attacked you in your home... your previous partner...
The slightest bit of rage flickered in RK900, yet it was snuffed quickly.
RK900 thought himself to be so much better than his previous models. He'd never attack his partner. He just plans to protect her.
After all, he's quite capable of that.
RK900 often watched his human partner. He was always trying to figure her out. He wants to know what makes you so scared... He wants to know if he can help.
He's been programmed to help.
RK900 doesn't understand why you talk to someone else for your mental health. He's right here. He can listen, can't he?
RK900 wants to help you. He's been assigned to you and yet you don't trust him. He supposedly understands...
Even if it makes him envious.
As time goes on you catch RK900 trying to win your favor. He delivers your paperwork and food. He sits beside you as you work through files on your computer.
There's times he even asks to escort you home... to help you. You keep refusing unfortunately. All because he reminds you of his previous model.
He isn't that RK800, why can't you trust him?
RK900 even begins to compliment you to win you over. He calls you beautiful and remarks you'd win any human gentleman over. You never respond. In fact you look... fearful.
RK900 simply wishes to please. He wishes to have his partner trust him. He should be the only one responsible for your care....
RK900 hates your coworkers... just like Connor. You aren't blind to it. You can see the android's LED flicker to yellow whenever someone disturbs you from your work.
You swear you see him glare, LED bordering on that dreaded red color.
RK900 also seems to look over your missions before presenting them to you. It's like everything you do needs to be observed. To him...
You need to be protected as his partner.
You can't be alone.
You refused to idly sit by and watch RK900 become your new Connor. You soon decided maybe it's best if you quit this line of work. It's better to let someone else interact with these faulty sentient computers.
Yet it's like RK900 knew what you were planning...
He's better than any human, after all.
You told your boss you want RK900 transferred to another. You tell them you can't work with androids anymore. Not after what you had gone through.
You swore RK900 was watching you the entire time, gaze cold as you speak to your boss... but you don't care.
It felt euphoric to just be home, to lock all your doors and windows....
A week has passed and you've been trying to relax. To your knowledge, RK900 was given to another and you were left to your own devices. You still talked and had past coworkers visit, but RK900 was never a problem... even if your anxiety kept making you look out your window.
Until you heard a familiar crash late at night.
A familiar robotic voice calls your name and you feel your heart stop. Your breathing quickens as you sit up in your room. You run for the phone, fumbling as you try to call for backup.
Your door knocks and your name is called again. You freeze, still trying to input the numbers in the phone. Yet you keep shaking and pressing the wrong one.
You scream when the door to your room is wrenched open. An LED flickers in the dark room, red catching your eyes as you sob. You've experienced this before....
"Connor—!" You cry, thinking this is yet another one of your nightmares. The android in front of you looks at you, eyes coldly scanning you.
"... Connor? I am RK900, not Connor. Connor can not hurt you anymore, miss." The android replies and you feel nauseous.
RK900...
That might be worse.
"You're scared... why?" RK900 questions, stalking closer. "Do you think I'll hurt you?"
"Stay away from me, android!" You hiss, watching as RK900's gaze flicks to your phone.
"... you trust them over me?" RK900 asks, seeming to be irritated. "Don't you know I've taken care of you better than them? I was created to be better."
"You're just like Connor!" You hiss, yelping when RK900 snatches the phone from your hand... and crushes it.
"I am nothing like my predecessor. He wished to hurt you, I do not." RK900 glares. "I was created to aid you. To protect you. You just do not wish to see potential threats."
"Potential threats...?" You whisper, watching as RK900 drops the busted phone.
"You are human. Anything can hurt you. I simply wish to serve you..." RK900 murmurs, kneeling down to your level to cup your face. "I am meant to be yours... to make sure a pretty woman like you is loved and cherished...."
You try to smack his hand away yet you only hurt yourself against his exterior. RK900 'tsks' in response, holding your wrist.
"... Why did you leave?" RK900 asks, gaze still cold as he holds you in place.
"Fuck off!" You snap.
"Is it me? Maybe you should have quit anyways... then I could stay here with you." RK900 responds, scanning to see if you hurt yourself.
"I don't want you here!" You struggle, yet RK900 just pulls you into his chest.
"You'll get hurt just like with my predecessor without me..." RK900 murmurs, looking as though he's admiring you. "I merely wish to help."
"I don't need your help."
"You don't want my help," RK900 corrects, holding your chin up. "But you need my help."
"I'll call for help...."
"There's no need. I'm here." RK900 hums, pressing a mock kiss to your forehead. "I'm your help."
You try to fight your second robotic partner, but you're reminded that he is better than Connor. After all, he's learned from his predecessor's mistakes. Connor didn't cut your phone line or break your methods of communication...
RK900 did.
Unlike Connor, RK900 knew how to not be caught.
Now you're going to need him, like it or not...
He has you all to himself, once again succeeding where his predecessor could not.

Ok if this doesn't sound like an idea you'd be interested in then disregard, i don't want to bother you 🙂 BuT! It's been itching the back of my brain since forced throuple au and creepy-apartment!ghost has compounded it so:
Forced throuple but a sort of android verse with some body snatching horror thrown in for flavor. Reader's husband (Soapy boy) dies suddenly and in their grief a lot of stuff has gone into disrepair, so they mail order an android to help around the house and with crippling loneliness. The company sends Ghost, a refurbished security model now named Simon, and he ends up being pretty helpful despite the silent brooding. Hell, sometimes that even helps as scary dog privilege so you let it slide (big mistake dumby, that android is falling for you in the process of taking care of you ohhh no-).
But maybe Ghosts old security features make him super observant (obsessive) paired with his new "fix it" code make him come to the conclusion that, actually, reader could still use her husband and mail orders a Soap-bot-3000 without letting them know :O. Watch the horror unfold as Reader wakes up one morning to her VERY NOT dead husband in bed and both Ghost and Soap acting like nothing is wrong :)))), maybe some "Simon reverts fo Ghost" too as the story progresses
this is from awhile ago (apologies, anon) and so wickedly weird and cool :)))
androids that are so realistic and bodies so malleable that they almost feel lifelike, like they're flesh and blood. you never wanted to actually give in and purchase one because you have personal qualms with the idea of something so human-looking being programmable and subservient to you; it's just always felt wrong and borderline cruel, and johnny used to concur with you when you spoke about it. that was then though. years and months and weeks before the accident.
now it's midday on a tuesday and you can't even get out of bed. there are two weeks of dishes in the sink and the lawn is overgrown and the feral cats haven't stopped by in days because you haven't had the strength to get up and feed them. your voicemail's been full for days. your sister stopped by and insisted when she saw the state of your house. "at least for a few weeks," she pleaded with you. you can always return it when you're back on your feet. she's already ordered you one from 141 Labs before she's even out the door, making you promise to give it a shot.
when you open the box, you worry that you might've ordered the wrong model. the size of the android they sent you feels out of place, like he's meant for private military companies or as a bodyguard for celebrities. not depressed accountants who can't get out of bed because their husband died two weeks ago. but it's your name on the receipt, your address. so when his blue eyes flare neon when he's first activated and all six feet and four inches of him sit up in the crate (that had to be wheeled in by two delivery men, you recall with a small amount of horror), you wait patiently to introduce yourself.
maybe this one was sent to you because of the defect. he wears a mask because the only layer of skin on his face starts from the bottom of his face down. at first you roll the mask up only to shudder at the exposed wiring and metal where cheekbones should be. you roll it back down.
he comes with a name. Ghost. that's his model, you surmise from the lengthy instruction booklet you're provided. the whole situation feels weird at first; his presence in your house always catches you off guard, even though, you suppose, it's his house now too. you jump whenever you walk into a room and he's just there, silent, so large that you nearly always think Threat first before you recognize him. maybe it's not fully your fault. he makes no effort to signal his presence, moving silently from room to room when he helps carry out the garbage or swifter the living room. sometimes you catch him staring at the photos of you and johnny that still line the top of the fireplace.
you try to be equitable, insisting that he take the guest room as his own. Ghost won't hear of it, following you into your room when night falls; ominous. you have to lock yourself in the en suite to change, heart beating away because you know he's standing just outside the door, like a cat waiting to be let in. shaking hands drag your clothes down. you stare blankly at the door while you shower, fingers twitching when you pass a washcloth over your nipples.
you think there's something wrong with you. you're sick or something. you're sick or something worse because your husband died two weeks ago and the thing in your house isn't even a human and still your stomach clenches when you think of him waiting for you in your room, knowing that you're naked behind the door. it's taboo; it's not something that's done, at least not something that's spoken about. people don't sleep with their androids. recent widows especially should not be thinking about fucking their androids.
two weeks go by. you can't even think about johnny without wincing these days.
"he was your husband."
you look up. Ghost says it like a fact, not a question. you're in the living room sorting through insurance papers while Ghost vacuums under the sofa (he lifts the corner up with just a single hand; you swallow, throat already dry). neon blue eyes zip across your face when you look over at him. you wonder sometimes what he sees there, etched into the plains of your face.
"yeah." your smile is tight, pained. "johnny."
he looks back down to the framed photo in his hand, studying it. you wish you could ask him what he's thinking about, but you worry that would be just another privacy stripped. you can't ask more of him.
"what happened to him?" he finally asks, looking up again.
you feel it catch in your throat. "he, um - he." it doesn't come out. your nose stings before you can even try to get more out. you grimace, shrug instead. you try to smile again, but it's warped, unpleasant to form much less look at. don't ask, it says, whatever you do, please, please don't ask.
"you miss him?"
you blink at him, misty eyed. "ye - of course."
his eyes are so, so blue when he stares across the room at you. it's unnerving to look at; terrifying to find yourself under his scrutinizing gaze. what do androids even think about?
"I understand." he puts the photo back on the bookshelf and walks out of the room.
sometimes you catch him watching you too intensely; rare moments when he doesn't seem entirely mechanical. you wonder if one day you'll roll the mask up and there'll be skin there suddenly, a real flesh and blood person. it feels entirely possible some days. he moves too fluidly, has his own quirks and intricacies that seem newer each day.
you don't try it. the minuscule amount of professional space between the two of you is an absolute. you worry sometimes what you'll let happen if you ever let that distance collapse. already he sleeps motionlessly in the chair beside your bed, refusing his own room. he powers down with his eyes still open, the blue flickering away to a dark grey. it's only mildly reassuring.
when you open your eyes in the middle of the night though, he stares back at you, eyes dark and sightless.
you worry sometimes that you might have made a mistake, letting your sister talk you in to this.
it's the arm tucked around your waist when you're doing the shopping, freezing for a second before the hand on your hip squeezes and he pulls you towards the fruit and veg. it's the menacing stare from over your shoulder when a man approaches you in the checkout lane, offering his condolences (an old colleague of your husband's, he says) and an invitation to dinner. you open your mouth only for Ghost to answer for you.
"No." it thrums out of him, a different modulation. you stare helplessly as the man's face goes white and he makes an excuse to leave, offering you another lame apology.
it's the hand that tugs you out of the store by the back of your shirt, Ghost's voice rumbling like he doesn't know you can hear him. saying something about how you don't need another man in your house. that you had johnny and now you have him.

Can you tell us more about Objects of Affection? I'm honestly super, super excited for it
so structurally it's going to be three stories, each about a person/persons interacting with a woman shaped android in a world where those are commonplace and just like... getting into the way they would use these things as sexual objects.
the first one is two guys early on, among the first to develop The Fuckable Android and the way their own psychosexual hangups come out in regards to making her act how they want. second is a butch mechanic upgrading and refurbishing an android after they've existed for a while and they're more common, exploring how a woman would feel about these things. third is about a lonely young man and the breaking down android he loves and treats as his girlfriend, and the way a guy like that would think about her.
i'm excited to get a bit fucked up with this one. it's not going to be fluffy.

Like the point of my first ereader was to read more without the pressure of having to return library books or the expense of buying physical books AND avoiding all the distractions and temptations that come with a phone
So I got a refurbished kindle that is . Ten years old.
But that locked me into the Amazon ecosystem, which I don’t HATE but I don’t want to rely on, and it limited the books I could get from Libby. Not all the books you can check out on Libby can be sent to your kindle.
So I … splurged. I usually don’t drop this kinda cash but I’ve been. Quite literally. Obsessed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s a Boox Palma 2. Do not be confused by the size and shape. It is not a phone. There is no SIM card available here. It connects only via WiFi.
But.
It’s a functional e ink android tablet. access to an App Store allows me to use multiple different company’s reading systems, library apps, as well as audiobooks, podcasts and music. (Plus!! I can keep a list of TBR books right in my ereader!!) But the fact that it’s an e ink screen makes things like TikTok and YouTube and Twitter and even tumblr less appealing.
So it’s an open ended ereader, opening possibilities but still keeping me away from the distractions that a phone has.
…. I’m normal about this

Meet Constance!
Tumblr media
Constance is actually a personal oc from my own personal world called Plague Doctor that I brought into Ninjago cuz i had been wanting to design a robot oc and decided, why not use Constance since she's my baby girl
So here she is!
(Was gonna do clean lineart, but then realized i have zero patience for it lol)
She does have different color palette and backstory compared to my own universe to make sure she fits in
So let's get to know her, shall we >:3
____
Constance (or C0z-C1.0, C0z for short) is a servant android who's original blueprints were made by ???.
She was originally supposed to be a testing model for a now discontinued line of very advanced servant androids, a project that was shut down by Emperor Levo after being presented to him, who felt that it was unnecessary. She ended up being the only one built of her type before the project was cut short and everything associated it was to be destroyed, disposed or refurbished for something else
Because they had already built her she was allowed to be kept. She essentially became a servent/helper of multiple departments moving around and lending aide when necessary. She wasnt treated the best but it wasnt that bad. This continued for quite a few years until...Beatrix.
When she came into power she had C0z become solely her servant, sticking by her side and obeying her every whim. Under Beatrix's control, C0z was treated way worse than before and despite confusion to the sudden change C0z saw this as normal.
At the peak of the battle when Beatrix was facing off against the Ninja, C0z was shut down and sealed away so that she wouldn't interfere and when the merge quakes happened the lil pod she was sealed into was sucked in sending her off to who knows where.
Her pod was eventually discovered by Jay who had just become a Rogue and was traveling on his own tryna find his place in the world. He had set her free from the pod in his curiosity. Once C0z was free from her pod and awoken, she mistakenly took Jay as her new master much to his confusion. Once she explained her role he then proclaimed that she no longer had to listen to anyone and that she could choose her own life and promptly left.
He had no intention on sticking around, but she immediately followed him still convinced he was her master and kept proclaiming that she wasn't to leave her masters side. No matter what he did to evade her she would always find him somehow. This kept up for quite sometimes until he eventually gave up and accepted he's stuck with her.
So now, she currently travels with Jay (or Rogue) and they work to help eachother out. Jay tries his best to show Constance that she has her own free will and that she doesn't need to listen to him or anyone(with very little patience for it btw lol). That she has the choice. Constance helps him by giving him someone to care for(not that he would ever admit that outloud) which may or may not lead to memories coming back.
..It's a long work in progress and she's definitely not making it any easier

Hello! I hope you are having a nice start to your week :) I seem to remember you recommending a certain tablet once and tried looking for it but couldn’t find it. Is there still one you recommend for art? I’ve got an ipad now but I was thinking of trying something different when it reaches the end of its days (but still hopefully a draw-on one). I think I’ve heard some tablets let you actually download programs and not just apps. I would love to just 1-time buy clip studio or something instead of the app subscription Dx
No worries if you don’t have a recommendation, I may have just misremembered. Either way, I hope you have a lovely evening and thanks for sharing your art! ^_^
Oh I can talk tablets for Hours don't even worry
I have a tablet that can download programs and that is this one right here!
Tumblr media
The Huion Kamvas Studio 22
It's been retired from Huion's store for a couple years now, succeeded by Huion's new Kamvas Studio 24; the new, sleeker edition of my 22.
If you're looking for a tablet that can download actual software and not just act as a second display for your computer, you'll be looking specifically for a "Pen Computer". Huion currently offers two - the Kamvas Studio 24 and the travel-sized Kamvas Studio 16. Both come with Windows 11 preinstalled.
Huion also released the Kamvas Slate 10, and while it is categorized as a pen computer, it's designed to compete with tablets like the iPad or PicassoTab and operates on Android 12.
While the idea of an independent computer you can draw on the screen of isn't at all novel, they're still arguably "new" for the companies whose target demographic is artists. At the time of this post, Huion appears to be Wacom's main and only competitor in that field. Artisul, Gaomon and XPpen do not manufacture them. Options for standalone drawing tablets that can download software [not just apps like a phone] are largely limited to:
Huion Kamvas Studio 16
Huion Kamvas Studio 22
Huion Kamvas Studio 24
Wacom MobileStudio Pro 13
Wacom MobileStudio Pro 16
I know I hype up Huion a lot and that's primarily because I have actual firsthand experience with their products, but I cannot stress enough that the Huion can do the job just as well as the Wacom. If you're hellbent on the Wacom, get it when it's on BIG sale, or cheaper secondhand / refurbished. Wacom's MobileStudio line can start at around ~$2600 USD and up, whereas the Huion Kamvas Studio, while still costly, can start from ~$1700 USD. I've seen Kamvas Studio 22s floating around for around $1000 USD which is already $500 off what I originally paid for mine.
Pen computers are one hell of an investment but they're extremely convenient to have. I'm currently saving up for a Kamvas Studio 16 as my travel laptop barely has the power to support Clip Studio and I want to be able to take my work on the go without fumbling around with cords.
To anyone else reading: if I somehow missed the release of a pen computer from another art tablet brand, feel free to drop it in the replies! I'm usually on top of these but I've been so swamped with work the past two months I've barely enough time to check my social media most days lmao

So, your sex doll au triggered some Thoughts ™️ based on what I've learned from my courses on business law....
Typically, manufacturers have strict liability for defects or design problems that may cause injury/harm. A part of this is that, if a consumer could foreseeably modify a product in a manner that makes it unsafe or causes harm, the manufacturer is held liable for not implementing effective safeguards, etc. Hence why manufacturers often will safeguard against altering a product or warn against it, and why product design has to consider elements of safety and risk.
What if Teyvat's reaction to this was to implement some deeply hidden code encouraging their robots to, uh, hide the evidence of anything that could hold Teyvat liable? Basically a "past the point of no return" policy where, if the safeguards have failed, yandere behavior is instead encouraged as a means of reducing business risk in a highly dystopian way. This could also be triggered more easily if the technician isn't an official Teyvat technician (hence the recommendation to do all repairs through Teyvat) because they don't know how to step around this hidden last resort code. Basically, second-hand bots are highly liable to be triggered for this behavior when they're refurbished by any non-Teyvat technician for resale. Anything you find beat up on the side of the road and fix up yourself is at especially high risk.
(If Teyvat weren't a suspicious dystopian tech corporation they'd just hire lawyers and take the defense that there's an assumed risk to modifying bots, or that there was shared responsibility on behalf of the user for moulding the ai's natural learning in a manner that is dangerous. But yanderes are cheaper than lawyers. 🤡)
Hope you don't mind my HC dump 🙏
no no no cuz i can totally see a ""safeguard"" being put in place that, when an android is modified, makes them behave more affectionately to ensure that their user is too attached to them to, y'know, report the issue and send them back to the factory when their beloved companion gets a little glitchy and locks them in their own apartment for the better part of a month. obviously, giving androids with exponentially increased chances of malfunctioning a permanent dose of 'love your partner and don't stop unless you want to literally die' medicine makes for some, uh, less-than-breathing customers, but by the time they noticed the correlation between their special line of code and the sky-rocketing rates of people being maimed by their companion droids, they've done the math and realized that dead users are cheaper than all the lawsuits they'd have to weather if their bots weren't quite so fatal. it's not exactly the most ethical approach to business, but hey, that's life under capitalism, baby!
