luke/bobby + nesting (especially if they don’t realize what they’re doing lol)
It started with Bobby. One day, he came home, grinning like a maniac, throwing something at Luke’s head. Or maybe just the couch, but considering Luke was sprawled on it, the end result was the same. “Check out what I found at the thrift store!” he cackled.
It was a pillow with a cross stitch on it, which didn’t really seem like Bobby’s style, until you realised it said ‘come back with a warrant’ on it. Perfect for their shitty little ‘we’re going to be rock stars just you wait’ apartment.  Which right now mostly consisted of a couple of mattresses on the floor in the bedrooms, Luke’s old couch, a folding chair they stole from the studio, and a rickety kitchen table they hadn’t found chairs for  yet. And of course a bunch of music posters on the walls.
“Squishy,” Luke said happily, after he’d shown off the text to everyone. He put it under his head and snuggled in. “Good find, Bobbers.” Bobby smiled one of his rare, genuine smiles, and Alex started to wonder.
“Did you also find forks like I asked you to?” Alex asked, sighing when Bobby stared at him for a second before turning around and walking right back out the door. “Okay.”
Then the next day, they came home one day to find the softest, coziest fluffy blanket on the couch. “Oooh,” Reggie said, immediately flopping down and rubbing it against his cheek. “Soft.” Reggie wasn’t an Omega, but the guy did appreciate soft things as much as one. Alex had to admit, this kind of thing was absolutely perfect for nesting.
Hmm.
“Oh yeah, I saw that was on sale for like, five bucks,” Luke said casually when he came home from his shift at the diner. “It’ll be great for movie night, don’t you think?”
“If Reggie doesn’t become one with it before then,” Alex joked, and Reggie, not looking up from where he was rubbing his cheek against the blanket, flipped him off.
He tried to put his suspicions aside, especially because Luke didn’t seem particularly upset at a Beta hogging The Perfect Nesting Blanket. Then again, their pack had always been very touchy-feely, and didn’t care much about secondary genders.
But then it just kept happening. Bobby brought home a candle to ‘cover up the smell of farts and stale take out’ that just happened to go perfectly with Luke’s scent. Another pillow, even softer and fluffier and squishier than the last appeared on the couch. Then another blanket, a soft flannel thing with a guitar pattern on it. Some string lights were added to the living room. Even Reggie started to notice, and they played a game every time they came home at the same time to see who could find the new nesting thing first.
When Luke’s heat was about to start, Alex sat everyone down on the now extremely comfortable nest of a sofa. “Okay, so should Reggie and I just bounce for your heat?” he asked.
They’d of course talked this through before moving in together. It was the whole reason Luke and Alex were sharing the one bedroom and Bobby and Reggie the other. Two Omegas together, the Beta and Alpha together, less chance of weirdness.
Except things had been weird all week.
“Uh, what?” Luke asked, because that hadn’t been the plan. The plan had been for Luke and Alex to go to the studio for his heat, after he found a heat partner. They’d even made the loft all nice and cozy for it.
Except right now, the couch was looking way cozier than the nest they’d all built together in the loft.
“I love you both like family,” Alex told Luke and Bobby, who were curled up on the couch together, super close, even though Reggie had taken the chair and Alex was pacing in front of the milk crate they were using as a coffee table. “But I really don’t want to come home and see my family defiling the couch.”
“Hey, at least it’s covered in blankets,” Reggie pointed out happily, so yeah, they wouldn’t be actively defiling the couch so much as the nest on top of it.
“What are you guys talking about,” Luke said, turning to Bobby and realising how very close he was. He blushed, and his nostrils flared, and for a moment, it was like he was seeing Bobby for the very first time.
Bobby stared back at him, before tearing his gaze away and darting his eyes around the room. The candle. The string lights. The very, very obvious nest he and Luke were sitting in. “Shit.”
“Yeah, we’re just going to leave you two to it,” Reggie said happily. “We can swap Bobby and Alex’ beds when we get home.” He bounced up, looking at Alex. “Slumber party at the studio?”
Alex laughed. At least someone would be using the nest in the loft, even if it was completely platonically. “Yeah, let’s give these two space to talk.”
And from the way they were staring at each other, defile the couch.

 trying to hide a blush when they get compliments from their friend for the Reggie ship of your choice!
Reggie likes to think that he's been doing a pretty good job of hiding his feelings.
It helps that he's always been a bit of a flirt, so no one really takes him seriously on that front. It's a great way to deflect.
So long as he uses the right tone, especially when paired with a grin or a wink, nobody even bats an eye.
Which is good, because if anyone found out that he's crushing on everyone's favorite couple, he thinks he'd die—either of embarrassment or a public execution.
But it's fine. He's been doing just fine.
If he gets caught staring, he can play it off like he was zoned out. And if the feelings want to spill over into a few extra touches or several stanzas of pining poetry, well—his friends are a pretty cuddly bunch, anyway, and no one really reads his songs unless he bugs them about it.
The only problem is—
They're both being really sweet to him all of a sudden, and he doesn't know how to handle it. He wants to soak up their affection like sunshine but also maybe to melt into the floorboards. It's maddening.
It doesn't help that they're currently all cooped up in a fairly small dressing room.
"Quit messing with your hair, Reg," Luke says, snatching Reggie’s hand out of it.
He spins him around to study him better, clutching Reggie’s shoulders as he does so like it's nothing. His eyes are earnest when they lock on Reggie’s, but they're also bright with something else that makes Reggie’s stomach squirm as Luke hums.
"Seriously, leave it, it looks good like that."
And Reggie's face starts to catch fire.
He bats Luke away and hunches into the mirror, glad that he'd at least grabbed Reggie by the shoulders and not the jaw.
"Thanks, but—"
Alex cuts in as Reggie flounders, never one to miss an opportunity to roast Luke.
"Why would anyone trust your opinion on hair? You look like Justin Bieber, usually."
Luke squawks. "I do not! Julie—"
She sighs like this gig can't start soon enough, and Reggie has to agree. He presses his forehead into the cool glass of the mirror and wills his blush to recede.
Still, her sigh is followed by the soft sound of a soothing kiss, and she says, "You do, sometimes, a little bit. But it works for you."
Luke lets out a victorious HA, but Alex interrupts again, sounding smug.
"Okay, but she's already your girlfriend, so she's biased. Her opinion doesn't count."
Reggie rushes to say something before Luke can wheel on him again.
"Water is wet, Luke is hot even with Justin Bieber hair. Why don't we stop arguing so Julie has time to finish her makeup?"
She sends him a grateful smile in the mirror, and he busies himself by fussing with his hair some more as a bit of pink starts to creep back into his cheeks.
Goodness knows he can't look at either of them right this second, especially Luke.
He startles when Julie touches his arm.
"Reggie, are you alright?"
"Yeah," he says automatically, swallowing a nervous little laugh. "Why wouldn't I be?"
She shrugs. "You seem extra fidgety."
"Hoping to impress someone?" Luke asks.
Reggie chews his lip. "I guess that's it."
"Hey." Julie squeezes his arm. "You're wonderful, Reggie. As a bassist but also just in general. And Luke is right. You already look great, okay? If they aren't impressed, they aren't worth your time."
Well, fuck.
He can't flirt his way out of this one.
Why do they have to be so—so—
"I think you broke Reggie," Alex snarks, which brings him crashing back to earth.
Oh, he's so screwed.
His whole face is fire engine red.
Julie frowns. "I was just being honest!"
Yes! That. That is the problem.
Luke inches back over, smirking as he drapes his arm around Reggie’s shoulders.
"I've never seen you so flustered. It's cute."
Reggie groans. He buries his face in his hands, but Julie actually comes to his rescue. He vaguely hears and feels her reaching around him to swat at Luke.
"Stop it, Luke, you're embarrassing him."
There's a weighted pause.
And then she quietly adds, "But he's right."
Reggie slowly lowers his hands.
"What—what does that mean?"
She and Luke exchange a soft look that reignites the fire under Reggie’s skin.
They're interrupted by the call that they'll be on in five, and Julie really has to scramble to finish her makeup then, but that might be for the best, given that Alex looks like he'd rather not be trapped in this tiny room with them for this conversation.
They smile at him sheepishly, and he rolls his eyes as he ushers them out the door, but he can't hide a smile of his own, no better than Reggie could hide his blush.
And Bright has never sounded better.

The Storm Before The Rainbow by @random-nerd-3
Luke has been harboring crushes for Willie since he met the guy six months ago, and he's been in love with Alex since they broke up in high school. When he runs away from them during a storm he goes to Reggie, Bobby and Nick for advice, and then like always Luke returns home to his lighthouse, guiding him home whenever he's adrift in the sea.

“Shut up,” Bobby grumbles, and dumps the whole pile of blankets on top of Reggie. “You guys are stupid. You're both out here, in the freezing cold, and neither of you come wake me up?”
“We didn't want—” Luke starts, at the same time as Reggie insists, “You were sleeping—!”
Or, Luke and Reggie huddle in the cold studio until Bobby comes to (grouchily) warm them up.
The Inherent Intimacy of Writing a Country Song by @oldsmobile-hotdogs
Bobby and Luke hadn't really known what to expect when they finally gave in to Reggie's begging and pleading for them to learn a country song, just the three of them.

All This Feeling Second Best, It’s Got Me by the Throat by @aroacethetic-shitpost
Bobby Reynolds didn't know much, but he did know three things.
One: His band — Alex, Luke, and Reggie — were his best friends.
Two: The three of them were inseparable. Soulmates, even, as cheesy as that sounded.
Three: He was never going to be a part of that.

Alex gets dared to kiss someone.
He freezes. He and Luke had just broken up, and while he wouldn’t mind getting to kiss him again, it seems like that would just cause more problems. So he picks Reggie. They’re friends, right? What’s a little kissing between friends?
He didn’t expect Reggie to be so… good at it.

Is this okay?" asked Alex, his face so close Reggie could feel his breath against his cheek.
"Yeah,"— Reggie cleared his throat when it comes out high pitched —"Yeah, this is okay."
"Just okay?" Luke's voice was muffled. Reggie could feel his lips move through his shirt while he talked.
"No, yeah, more than okay, it's great." His voice cracked, shooting up at the end.

THEM!!!!! THEM THEM THEM!!!!! I LOVE THEM MORE THAN ANYTHING!!!
love like a storm by thessalonike (on ao3)
“He’s afraid, isn’t he?” she asks Reggie later. “Of thunder?”
Reggie winces, caught in the lie of omission... but at least he knows better than to play dumb about it. “Yeah,” he sighs, running a hand through his hair. “Kind of? It’s more... the storms themselves, really. Since he was a kid, they’ve always freaked Luke out. He used to hide in his bedroom closet during the worst ones... it made him feel safe. I think he still goes there now, even though his parents don’t know he’s around.”
Julie’s heart breaks for him all over again — Luke, frightened and lonely, beyond even the comfort of his parents, riding out the storm surge on his own.
They can’t allow that. There’s got to be something they can do.
Not a Burn of Jealousy by snowflake97 (on ao3)
Flynn didn’t know what she was expecting when she rushed to Julie’s house following the latest 9-1-1 text, but it wasn’t that she would find her best friend on YouTube, watching videos of her own band performing.
“I think Luke’s in love with Reggie.” Julie moaned as she spotted her friend, paused the video, and then flopped back onto her bed.
-
Julie has a revelation that there might be something going on between Luke and Reggie, which is a shame, because she knows she's got a crush on Luke. But she soon realises that things aren't even as simple as that, when she discovers that she also has feelings for Reggie.
thinking out loud by thessalonike (on ao3)
Julie never knows what she's going to walk in on, nowadays. Two ghosts bustling around her kitchen, trying to figure out how to make pasta, is just the latest in a long string of surprises.
“If anyone could burn pasta, it’d be you guys,” she muses.
Luke grins at her. “We come with a lotta talents.”
And Julie is impossibly fond of them both.

These aren't all the ones I have but they are my favorites!! Please talk to me about them if you do read them I love them so much jdkzkdkzk

Random Drabble Day (2/23)
Summary: First off, let me just say that this is more like a one-shot than a drabble because I'm a wordy bitch and I cannot control myself 😅
That said, I always had a hard time imagining Julie writing some of the Perfect Harmony's lyrics about herself, so I thought why not make this just another song that Luke and Julie wrote together? This is set somewhere between Finally Free and Edge of Great, in that week when Ray was stress-eating. This is supposed to fit back into the show at the end, so it might seem like a cliffhanger, but it's not.
Quick shout out to @jamestkirkish for betaing this for me! I love you and you are amazing! Any remaining mistakes are my own. And to the fabulous Sloan, for helping me out with Luke's handwriting! Enjoy 🧡
Fandom: Julie and the Phantoms
Relationship: Juke 💜
in the great scheme of life and ghosts
No matter how many times Luke insisted that she had been snooping through his things, Julie knew for a fact that she had done no such thing. In reality, she had simply been cleaning the studio when she came across it.
For three ghosts who didn't eat and could barely even touch anything most of the time, the boys sure knew how to make a mess. Every morning Julie would walk into the studio to find the chairs or coffee table rearranged, at least one of the rugs was always askew, and the clothes... the clothes were everywhere, and the worst part was: they reeked.
And so every morning before leaving for school Julie would shoot them a stern look and tell them to pick up after themselves. Which they did - when she got back home, things were mostly in their rightful place. Still, every weekend Julie would make sure to take a moment away from homework and rehearsal to tidy the place up to perfection, just like her mom liked it. She'd dust off the furniture, water the plants, sweep the floor, and even vacuum the whole place. One Saturday when she was home alone (her dad photographing a wedding, and Carlos at a friend's house), she even went through the trouble of washing all of the guys' old clothes.
Somehow, and she didn't even want to think about how that worked, the clothes didn't stink when they were actually wearing them, but at any other moment when they made no contact with their skin? Yeah... not good. So she washed them all (three times, using every trick and product she had). She washed them a fourth time for good measure and, by the time she was finished, any traces of twenty-five year old mold was gone, and so was the smell.
So no, she was not snooping - no matter what Luke said - when she came across the crumpled paper ball between the couch and the low cabinet, just behind a big vase her mom had gotten from tía Victoria.
Julie sighed, making a mental note to tell Luke to put his discarded ideas in the bin (again) if he didn't want them anymore, when one scribbled and wrinkled word caught her attention: Perfect Ha-
She bit her lip, staring down at the teasing word. Perfect what? Was it lyrics? Maybe half formed ideas? Doodles? Julie knew Luke liked to doodle in the margins of his notebook whenever he got stuck trying to come up with the next best piece of lyric or melody. She also knew she should probably just leave it alone, put it with his stuff to ask him later if he wanted to keep it, or put it in the garbage. Except the more she glanced down at that damn word, the stronger she felt it pull her towards uncovering whatever else the crumpled paper ball was hiding.
In the end, the pull was too strong. She'd just take a quick look, make sure it wasn't anything important before she threw it away. And, she reasoned with herself, trying to squish the guilt that was making itself known in the pit of her stomach: Luke had gotten rid of it, so he clearly didn't care much for whatever was in there.
Not able to resist any longer, Julie carefully unfolded the paper, slowly making her way towards the piano and using its surface as a table to help smooth the page over.
Luke's (horrendous) handwriting covered it with the bare bones of a song, random lines were scribbled in the margins with a couple of doodles for company, and even a little note from their bassist - ‘Reggie was here ;)’.
It took her a minute before the chicken scratches became words, and then Julie's breath left her in a rush, as the guilty feeling in her stomach turned into butterflies and flew away with her imagination.
It was a song, parts of one, anyway, and - more importantly - it was a love song.
Tumblr media
Unprompted, her own words came back to her, "Wow, Luke! I didn't know you were such a romantic." Quickly followed by Alex's short reply, "He's not."
She knew now who Unsaid Emily was really about, but these new words were clearly about a different kind of love. The romantic kind, and Julie couldn't help letting herself believe - just for a moment - that the song might be about her.
Before she could let herself be carried away in a daydream, there was a - now familiar - shift in the air, a sound almost like static, the only thing letting her know of a ghost's appearance. Without a thought, she crumpled the page again and shoved the paper ball in her pocket for later inspection.
"Hey, Julie!" Reggie's cheerful greeting sounded across the studio from where he had poofed in, and soon - with his "help," bless him - Julie was finished with her weekend clean up.
As if summoned by the end of her chores, Luke poofed in, ready to rehearse. Alex soon followed; and by the time Julie retired for the night, the song had been almost forgotten where it hid inside her pocket.
Almost.
***
After getting ready for the night, Julie settled on her bed with the wrinkled page and her dreambox. She read over the words again and again, imagining they were about her.
Step into my world,
Bittersweet love story about a girl
Shook me to the core
Voice like an angel,
I've never heard before,
You and me together, it's more than chemistry
Love me as I am
I hold your music
Here inside my hands
You are my brightest burning star
We create Perfect Harmony.
And unless Luke had been singing with another girl, there didn't seem to be many options on who it could be about, right?
From the beginning, Julie had felt something connecting her to him; to all of them, in different ways. But Luke had been the one to give her a little piece of his soul right after meeting her when he let her use Bright to earn back her spot in the music program. Seeing his passion reflecting back on her, the way he treated music like she used to, made her miss it more than anything for the first time in almost a year. It made her miss the way it felt to use music to connect with her mom.
After they spent a whole weekend finishing each other's songs and working on new ones, getting to know each other's inner workings - the part of them that bled out feelings into paper to create beautiful melodies, Julie knew she was a goner. Finding out he'd been the one to write the words that shaped her taste in rock certainly didn't help. Like he'd been helping her find her way to music long before they even met.
Her crush on him had been inevitable from the start, and while falling for him was probably one of the worst things she could’ve done, it was too late to stop it. She'd been free falling for a while, and hopefully she'd land in his arms soon enough. Reading over his words again gave Julie a warm fluttering in her stomach that made her think he was more than ready to catch her once she reached the ground.
Carefully folding the piece of paper, she put it inside her dreambox, then placed the box back on the shelf.
***
The following week went by without any hiccups. Every once in a while, Julie would remember Luke's song and a familiar warmth would fill her up, leaving a soft smile on her lips and glazed eyes staring off at nothing. Just as often, Flynn would have to shake her out of her daydreams.
She didn't think much would come of it until her dad decided to throw the band a party so he could film them and post their video on YouTube. Which was fine. Amazing, even. It was most certainly great! Until Luke came to the school, staring at her with his stupid, beautiful, awed eyes, and with his soft, perfect smile, saying things that made her combust and melt, all at the same time.
"I think you make me a better writer."
    "I think we make each other better."
Calling Nick 'Luke' was bad enough, but slipping into a complete musical sequence as she danced with him? "Goner" didn't even begin to describe her.
Like the other times they'd written together, the lyrics flowed through her, finishing the song he'd started with the same ease as one would take a breath.
Julie knew that whatever was going on between her and Luke couldn't happen or, if it did, it couldn't last. In fact, in the great scheme of life and ghosts, she didn't know much, but what she did know was that - be it in life or in death - love was constant.
He didn't need to have a heartbeat or to be able to touch her for her to love him. He was just as real to her as the next person, and whether it would hurt in the long run or not, it didn't matter.
She knew Flynn was only looking out for her, but that ship had sailed, and Julie was already so lost in his ocean eyes that avoiding eye contact wasn't going to bring it back. She would entertain her though, even knowing it wouldn't work. Just like the tide, eventually he'd pull her right back in.
She could love him just as he was, for however long they had together, and especially after that.
-
End notes: I hope you guys enjoyed it! And, if you'll notice, at the beginning it kind of gives off the impression that Luke eventually finds out about the song and Julie tells him how she found it. Which may or may not lead you to believe that they're in a relationship. I guess it all depends on interpretation though ;)
Oh, also! Shout out to the chaos squad folks that guessed right! You guys are no fun :( /j lmao

Title: Just Gotta Stay Calm

Warnings: First Works of the fandom, swearing(small), awkward, fluff
Vinnie let in a breath as he examines himself in the special vampire mirror on his bedroom wall. He quietly checks every inch of his face closely before opening his mouth to check his fangs.
Good, He thought with a charming grin to himself. No pimples, no stuff in my teeth, no flaws in sight.  Vinnie went to his dresser and takes out some cologne he bought specifically for today, a scent of calming forest rain, and sprayed some on his neck and a little bit in his shirt. Not a lot just the basic stuff to seem simple and posh.
Vinnie and Reggie are finally getting themselves a date.  A real, really real, true date.  Just the two of them.  And Vinnie could be more happier then this moment!
Vinnie has been meaning to ask his best friend out for quite some time, since the first moment he noticed his feelings were a bit more then platonic bashful moths in his chest and stomach actually.  It took him a total of two full months to completely wrap his head around the fact that he - Vincent "Vinnie" Stoker - was wings over heels in love with the world's one and only Reggie Moonshroud.  However, it took him nearly a YEAR to get up all the courage to ask the boy out. Honestly, if it weren't for his friends this day might've never happened.
The young vampire left his bedroom and hurries down his stairs, only to be stopped by the voice of his old man, "Vincent, can you come here please?" Vinnie let out a silent shutter as he mentally cursed himself.
He slowly turned his body fully towards the older vampire sitting in his velvet chair with a pipe in between his lips, small puffs of the smoke emerging out the ends. The teen slowly walked over. "Y-Yea pops?" His voice rarely stammers when speaking, hasn't since he was in the 6th grade, at least not when he nervous beyond his wits like when he tried to get the chance to ask Reggie out and plan out what to do on said date.
"Are you going to go on your date soon?" Asked Mr. Stoker. Vinnie nods some in reply, his hands fumbling into his jacket's pockets. This was not what he wanted to do.  The older vampire stood up from his chair, pipe still puffing out smoke, his eyes focus out the window of the chilly autumn gray skies. He takes a puff before continuing, "I want to give you some simple advice for your first date Vincent. Vampire to vampire." Vinnie practically shrunk his head down into his coat's collar.
Defiantly not what he wanted to do. . .
"That's okay pops, I got it covered-" He began as he slowly creeped his way to the front door. "The year was 1880. . ."  Vinnie bite back a groan, knowing very well that once his dad starts it's hard to stop him.  "I was simply a beginning apprentice to the one and only Dracula. Mostly paper work and long mornings. I thought I had everything cut out for me, a great job and nice home, until I realized I was missing something important when I first saw your mother wandering through the local cemetery." Mr. Stoker smiles fondly as he light strokes his black beard. "She is my first and only love as I'm sure you know. And it took me decades to ask her on a single date, I feared she might not want a simple vampire apprentice who barely knows how to turn into a bat, but alas she surprise me with a yes."  Vinnie nods, "Yeah yeah I know. And you two spent many years together, got married, had two kids, and lived happily ever after. Dad, I know the story pretty well you know."
He didn't mean to interrupt his father's tale, he just already has his nerves up through the roof and he just want to hurry for the plans.  His father turned and looked at his son right in the eyes as he spoke, "I know you do. I'm just trying to tell you that last night I was certain to give you some advice for your date, a vampire tradition my father gave me as his father gave him and his father so forth. I know you're nervous and it's perfectly natural. Just remember, be courteous. Be engaging. And above all, have a plan." Vinnie nodded. "Don't worry pops, I got it covered. Now can I go and do the date itself?" He asked the older vampire, who nodded to his please. He didn't wait any few seconds to open the front door and flying off with a snap.
This will go well, He thought to himself as he feels the wind go through his black hair. Reggie will enjoy the date I have planned for us. This is a piece of blood orange pie. Vinnie smiled as he spaces out on today's plans. Slowly, though, his brain began to swim to a memory of when he got the nerves to finally make that choice he's been walking back and forth on. . .
~   ~   ~
Vinnie taps the heels of his shoe onto the cold hard floor of the school's classroom as he watches the clock tic away, his eyes going to the clock and to the werewolf just a desk away from him.  Today was the day, Vinnie told himself throughout the hours. Today I'm going to do it.  As if proving his luck, the bell rings out around the school, signalling everyone to grab their stuff and hurry the Hell out of there for the weekend.  Vinnie stood onto his feet, catching Gil and Sid giving him a thumbs up as they run out the classroom, and looks over at Reggie who is still putting his stuff away.
The vampire took a breath in and walked his way over to the red head's desk, his feet feeling kind of heavy as he gets closer. Be cool Vinnie, just do it. "Hey Reg." His voice called out suddenly, the rest of his body slowly just going with the flow.  Reggie turned his head and smiled up at his friend. "Hey there Vinnie. You usually are gone by now, is Mr. Schneider Sir seeing you after class again?" He asked as he puts his books away in his bag. Vinnie smiles warmly, he enjoys Reggie's voice. The way his small lisp happens between the small gap of the front of his teeth.  The way his voice cracks sometimes in the right moments. Just generally how comforting it is...
The vampire quickly shook his head when he finally notices Reggie is standing up and looking at him with cocoa brown eyes that warm up Vinnie's dead chest, "No no. I just wanted to know...if...um...i-if you don't mind me asking...I uh..."  "Yes Vinnie?" Reggie pressed on. Honestly, it's like he knows what he's doing to me. Vinnie took a gulp from his dry mouth before he spoke a retry, "I just wanted to know...if...if...well...if you're free this weekend? Maybe...we could...go out?" He didn't know if he sounded needy or not but he didn't care, he finally said it!
Reggie blinked a few times before replying, "Of course we can hang out Vin. We often times do already."  "No, Reggie, I meant...go out...like a...date...?" Vinnie was so scared to look at Reggie in the face yet he has to in order to watch his reaction.  And boy was it a reaction... His cute wolf ears were perked down in a way his shyness shows, hard to tell but behind that fur his cheeks were very rosey and red, just looking at him gave Vinnie so much heat on his face he for sure thought he was going to die.
~    ~     ~
Vinnie chuckled softly when Reggie's face on that day came to mind.
Well, yeah, the reply was a day late but nevertheless he said yes.  And the day has finally came.
Vinnie soon landed at Reggie's place, a pretty big home of four stories with a even bigger yard surrounded it of 6 aches each side. He knew Reggie's family owned a big home for such a big family but he honestly wasn't expecting something so... human dream life. A white picket fence wrapping around the areas of land, green grass in perfect height, the house painted in a nice paint of soft blue with the windows having a white coat to the edges, a cute porch sticking out from the big dark brown oak made front door, and to fit so perfectly a nice little porch swing with a small coffee table.  In all honesty neither Vinnie nor Reggie been to each others' houses despite being friends for years. Always staying at the dorms the school gave them for half the week.
The vampire slowly made his way to the porch and gently pulled the rope that rings the door bell loudly it echos around him and to the forest not far from the house itself. He tripled checked in his head the plans of the date as he waits a few seconds before the door opened and Reggie's head popped into view. "Hey Vinnie." Reggie said with a smile and opened the door already for him to step out. "Hey there Reg-" Vinnie nearly chocked on his words upon seeing Reggie. He wasn't wearing anything out of his comfort zone but something Vinnie was expecting obviously... Let alone something his heart was ready for.  There standing in front of him with the shine of the afternoon sun glimmering a special effect through the tree leafs Reggie wearing a typical white button-down shirt and well ironed dress pants but wears also a well knitted beige and blood red pattern pullover sweater vest and a black Letterman jacket with a big red R stitched to his chest's right side, his hair combed in a messy side bangs style to the left side of his face. Honestly, Vinnie doesn't know if this was more cute or sexy and he was pretty scared of both.  "I-I could change if you want..." Reggie stated, snapping Vinnie out of his daze to realize he's been staring holes into the poor werewolf. "No no you're okay Reg. Just uh...caught me off guard is all. It's cool." Vinnie spoke up with his hands up in defense.
Reggie giggles some, causes Vinnie's undead heart to for sure jumble in beats like a drum.
The first stop of this little date for the two monsters was a nice little fly over the town to the date's main destination. Reggie clings to Vinnie from behind, his face so close to his their cheeks are barely touching softly, his eyes watching the town below them. "Gee Vinnie, this is beautiful." He whispered but Vinnie heard it very well, his warm breath gently dancing across Vinnie's ear, his cheeks warming up in a soft shade of pink, a smile appearing on the vampire's lips. If anything, if he had a chance to say it, Reggie was the most beautiful thing to Vinnie's eyes. Though as a sad as it had pained him he knew he would crash into something if he doesn't focus.
His eyes scanned around the area before carefully landing in front of a cafe looking place. Reggie looked around the place when he climbed down from the vampire's back as he tucked in his wings. "Um... Vinnie." Reggie mumbled softly as he dragged his feet closer to Vinnie. Vinnie let out a hum, "Yeah Reg?" "Correct me if I'm wrong but this is a human cafe is it not?" Indeed it was.  "Yeah. I figured to have a nice bite here for a change." "True it's just... don't you rather want to go to Ms. White's Diner? It's one of your favorites right?" Vinnie had to fight back the urge of going to his favorite 50's diner and share a monster shake with Reggie, he had a plan and he's sticking to it. He gently takes his paw and said, "This is just as good Reg, promise. Plus they serve your favorite here. Trust me."  Reggie looked at the place and at Vinnie, seemed to be small on numbers of humans... So it could be okay right?
The two monsters entered the cafe and walked it's way to a table right in the center. The place was nice, clean, quiet, cute, and had a nice nature aesthetic with potted plants hanging from the ceiling and the smell of coffee and tea with some sweets filling your sense of smell. "This place is nice." Reggie said, his eyes focused on every little detail around him.  The V-Man couldn't help but smile proudly, the date's going so well so far.
A waiter walks over to their table with a notepad and spoke to the two teenage monsters, "Afternoon gentlemen. What can I get you for drinks?" Vinnie opened the menu.  "I'd like a black coffee with a side of milk creamer."  The waiter nodded and looked at Reggie waiting for his answer.  The werewolf quietly looked through the menu, his eyes widening like space saucers. "O-Oh my...Um...w-water would be fine..."  The waiter wrote the orders down before hurrying to the back.  Reggie looked at Vinnie with a raised brow, "This place is expensive Vinnie. They don't even serve your favorite drinks here. And I think you need it, you look ill..."
Vinnie knew Reggie was worried, he can hear it in his voice, but he can't simply explain it... Since the night before last he hasn't had a drop of blood to nibble a sip from due to how stressed and nervous he was getting over asking Reggie out and planning out this perfect date. Black coffee was the best he could get to that bitter goodness. And if not, the creamer would do the trick.  Still, he knew he can't say all that to Reggie, not to seem not cool in front of his crush but also because he doesn't want the werewolf to feel bad or blame himself. Instead he just smiles his traditional smile and leaned back in his chair as he coats his voice with soothing calmness, "It's fine Reg. Everything fine actually. I just... had a big batch during breakfast and need the coffee here is good as I'm told. Plus, the money, don't worry. I got it covered." He finishes with a wink and another smile which caused Reggie's shoulders to calm down slightly.
After a few more seconds the waiter returned with their drinks and a notepad still in hand, "Here is your black coffee with a side of milk creamer and your glass of water sirs. May I interest you into something to eat?" Vinnie glances at the man's meaty neck and silently licked his fang out of sights, his brain wracking him inside his skull to try and not accept the urge to chomp down onto that neck and drink up. His hand quickly grabbed the coffee cup as soon as it was set and took a big gulp of it. Bitter. Not as bitter but still helps a little. He thought, feeling his nerves calm down a bit more.  He glances over at Reggie and smiles, "Why don't you order first? I'll follow after."  Reggie fixes his glasses and looked over the menu, a few times his eyes peeking at Vinnie as if asking for his help. "G-Gee...there's a lot of good options... Um..." He pondered out loud, Vinnie could see the human tapping his pen in a annoyance type manner. He bite down on his bottom lip some to fight back his new urge to range his neck.  Before the urge could happen for real, Reggie's voice rang out to Vinnie's ears, "I-I guess I can have the Pea & Carrot Soup with the Greek Salad as the side?"  "And you sir?" Vinnie had to remember how to talk before he took a quick glance at the menu before blurting out his order, "I'd like a French Onion Soup." And like before the man walked away after writing the orders down.
Vinnie noticed Reggie seemed more awkward and fidgety then his usual form.  "Everything alright Reg?" Vinnie asked, his voice truly worried. He truly is worried for Reggie. Maybe he caught that waiter's rudeness towards them because of their race? Maybe it's the fact it's clearly two boys out doing things beyond friends? The vampire's head is just about to explode over the thoughts on what could be wrong with his Reggie- My Reggie? Vinnie thought of having Reggie of his very own before... I mean it did sound nice to him but would Reggie be down to being...
Reggie softly shook his head with a mumbled, "It's nothing, really..." But Vinnie knew something's been bothering his pal. Maybe... Vinnie felt sick thinking this, Maybe he's not comfortable being on a date with me... Before he knew it the food had arrived but the two didn't seem in the mood to enjoy it... Vinnie gulped down the rest of his coffee and stared down at his dish.
Great, my nerves are all over the place now and Reggie ain't having a good time... He thought as he watched Reggie gently nibble on his soup and salad, the two barely having one or two small conversations. This date is going terrible...
The two left the cafe quietly and quickly after paying for the bill. The two were still pretty silent. Reggie broke this awkward pause in the air with a smile, "The food was pretty good Vinnie." Vinnie doesn't reply. "Vinnie..?" Suddenly, the second monster on this date let out a groan like sigh before slumping his body down a grass area in the side walk, "That stupid waiter! 50 bucks and all he had to do is make it nice!"
Reggie tilt his head at this and quietly asked, "What do you mean...?"  There was a pause when Vinnie looked away with no answer, causing it to click to the smarter of the two.  "Vinnie Stoker, did you pay a human waiter for our date?"  Vinnie sighed, "Not just paid Reggie, I paid the guy $50 to hold off any other reservations so it can be just us... I know you don't like really crowded places but that guy ruined it. I wasted 50 from my allowance just to have a guy be rude to you." Vinnie covered his face with his palms. "I'm sorry Reg...I really am..." Surprising Vinnie, Reggie grabbed his hand and pulls him up before guiding him somewhere.
"Hey Reg, where we going?" He asked, but his question fell on deaf ears as the werewolf still guided him silently.  Suddenly the vampire began to feel a new kind of nervous. Was Reggie mad? Was he going to yell at him for bribing a human? Does he know he hasn't been drinking his daily sips of blood?  He felt sick at the ideas of any of those being true and he blew this date... His one chance... And he blew it major time... There might not even be a second chance in this... "Look Reg..." Vinnie started, hanging his head low in shame. Reggie stopped him, "You didn't have to do any of that Vinnie. I would be perfectly fine going to any place we usual go."  Vinnie did not want this date to be ruined. He did not want his friendship to be tainted. All Vinnie wanted to do was do what he planned, even if it was sudden...
"I like you Reggie!"
Reggie stopped suddenly and whipped his head around so fast he must've felt dizzy.  No turning back now huh? Vinnie thought, taking a deep breath in, "I've always liked you Reg... And I mean really like you... Like...Like... I always get happy in the mornings because I get a chance to be near you at school, it's the only reason why I don't ditch as often. And when you're not there I feel sad...so sad I feel sick... I often re-read the messages we send back and forth after school because I miss talking to you that much... A-And that time when I was running for School President and you were helping me... Reggie, I felt so happy just being around you...seeing you so happy at what you were doing... I know this isn't stuff you want to hear instead of a apology...but I swear to you it's truer then true Reggie... I really like you... I've liked you for so long...I don't know when but I know when I figured it out... when you were fallin from the sky and I was running to you... All that's been runnin' around my head was "I can't let him go"... Reggie... you matter to me so much the idea of you not here with me is killing me..."
Vinnie was so scared to look up at his friend, scared he made it worst... "I just...I know this date ended up bad... but I-" Vinnie's words were cut short when he lifted his head to finally face his nerves, quickly his lips were covered by the soft fur of Reggie's lips.  The teen vampire felt his undead heart beat for miles and miles as every second slowly passes by between them, his eyes widen more then the usual wide but slowly his body began to melt by the warmth of Reggie's lips and they slowly blinked to a close while his lips push pressure back into the kiss.
The kiss lasted about a extra minute before the two pulled away, Vinnie's ears catching a soft small puppy like whine coming from deep back within Reggie's neck. "You like my lips that much Reg?" Vinne asked with a tease in his voice, smiling more when see that same expression of bashfulness Vinnie witness when he asked Reggie out in the first place. "Okay, I'm sorry... does...this mean you like me too...?" He asked, hopeful of his words being a positive. Reggie giggles softly, "Of course it means I like you Vinnie... Why else would I agree to go on a date and kiss you?" Vinnie felt stupid asking such a obvious question.  "And...why else would I do this?" After Reggie said that, he guided Vinnie again towards a secret spot. A nice little isolated hill spot overlooking the entire town and beach. Reggie...planned this? The vampire looked at Reggie in disbelief, now noticing the blush fur on his cheeks. "I... I like you too Vinnie... A lot... I've always had felt it too but that day when you risked everything just for me was when I realize it was more then a simple crush... And I wanted to show you how I felt since then...but I was too chicken to even bring it up in conversation... So, when you asked me out, I was nervous that I might miss my shot...so..." "So you ended up setting this up?"  Reggie nodded some, his bangs sweeping over his warm brown eyes in a cute shy manner.
Vinnie smiles softly and wrapped his arms around Reggie's frame, his lips lightly touching a small peck on his cheek. Sure, this wasn't the date I had planned... Reggie giggles and gently sat on the grass, Vinnie following after. The sun was just about going darker as the stars began to appear above them like candles they used to have lit from their old fears of the unknown... Vinnie could help but smile when seeing Reggie's happy face when he cuddles into him.  But I honestly couldn't ask for anything better.

#10 for Nickinald please :)
Here you go! I’ve never written for Nickinald before, so hopefully I did the ship justice.
“You’ve never played Mario Kart?” Nick asked Reggie, shocked.
Reggie shook his head. “No, it came out only a few years before, well, ya know. Between the band and school, I just never had time.”
“Oh,” Nick said. “I guess that makes sense.”
Reggie nodded. “Yeah. Why did you ask?”
Nick pulled out two switch controllers, and held one out for Reggie to take. “You wanna play?”
Reggie took the controller and examined it. “Yeah, sure, but, um, how do you use this?”
“Use the joystick,” Nick said. “Trust me, it’ll be easy.”
“Okay,” Reggie said, unsure.
Nick smiled, and went over to start Mario Kart. It started up quickly, and the character selection screen came up. Nick chose Kirby while Reggie chose Yoshi. Then, Nick picked a course and waited for the race to start.
“Are you sure this is easy?” Reggie asked.
“Yeah,” Nick said. “Maybe.”
Reggie frowned.
“You’ll be fine,” Nick said. “You’re great at everything.”
Reggie smiled. “You’re better than me.”
Nick smiled, and nearly missed the three second countdown to start the beginning of the race. Luckily, he caught himself just in time, and the race began. Nick was leading for most of it. That was until Reggie fully figured out the controls. Somehow, Reggie ended up winning the first race while Nick came in fifth.
“How-” Nick started.
“You were right, that was easy,” Reggie said.
“Yeah,” Nick said. “Apparently it was.”
“Can we play again?” Reggie asked.
Nick nodded. “Yeah, of course.”
Reggie smiled. “Yay!”
Nick laughed, and started another race. Nick thought he was going to win, but, halfway through the third lap, Reggie passed him and held the lead.
“How do you keep doing this?” Nick asked when he crossed the finish line.
Reggie shrugged. “No clue. Beginner’s luck maybe?”
“Maybe,” Nick said. “Congratulations either way.”
Reggie smiled. “Thanks. I like Yoshi, he’s cool.”
Nick laughed. “Yeah, he is.”
“Is Kirby your favorite?” Reggie asked Nick, curious.
Nick nodded. “Yeah. My dads and I used to play this every weekend. I was always Kirby.”
Reggie’s smile became even brighter than before. “That’s sweet.”
Nick nodded. “Yeah, I guess so. What about you and the rest of the guys in Sunset Curve? I mean they were kind of your family, right?”
“More than kind of,” Reggie said. “They were my family. We did a lot of crazy stuff. I mean we gave ourselves stick and pokes for fun. I even convinced Luke to pierce my nose once.”
“You have a nose piercing?” Nick asked, shocked.
“I did,” Reggie said. “It got infected and I had to take it out, so it ended up closing.”
“Oh,” Nick said.
“What about you and Carrie? Didn’t you guys do anything crazy?” Reggie asked.
Nick shook his head. “The craziest thing we did was date. Now we just give each other fashion tips and dating advice. She convinced me to start dating you.”
“Really?” Reggie asked.
Nick nodded. “Yeah. I mean it was hard at first ‘cause, you know, you weren’t visible. Then, you were. I still don’t know why.”
Reggie knew why. He had become visible when Reggie had first started to love him, but he never told Nick. He was scared of how he’d react.
Nick took Reggie’s hand. “Or maybe I do,” he said, looking into Reggie’s eyes.
“Y- you do?” Reggie asked, nervously.
“Is it because you love me?” He asked.
Reggie’s heart skipped a beat. He was worried that Nick would break up with him because he didn’t feel the same. Reggie and Nick had only been dating for a year, so what if it was too soon?
“I-”
“Because if you do, I’d tell you that I love you too,” Nick assured Reggie.
Reggie was shocked, but he smiled. He was the happiest he’d been since Julie had removed Caleb’s stamp.
“Well in that case,” Reggie said. “I love you, Nick Dansforth Evans.”
Nick smiled. “Well, good, I was thinking maybe I was way off.”
Reggie nodded, and laid his head on Nick’s shoulder. “Nope.”
Nick’s smile grew bigger, and he kissed Reggie’s forehead.  “Wanna play again?”
Reggie’s head instantly shot up. “Yeah!”
Nick laughed, and started the next race, ready to loss to Reggie once again.

Flying Solo
Reggie can dance ballet, he learned from his mother and does it whenever he’s feeling low. The band catches him and it turns into a bonding moment.
On AO3.
Ships: none
Warnings: Reggies home life from before they died is mentioned briefly. Tell me if I missed anything or if you want me to tag something!
~~~~~~~~~~
Alex and Luke had been friends since they were very little and had befriended Bobby in Middle School, only meeting Reggie in High School after he had moved to LA from NYC. He had easily fit in to their little group, but they did not know Reggie as well as each other.
Not that Reggie minded, he was a pretty private person. He didn’t like sharing things about himself and had become a pro in talking without ever saying something.
He did not like talking about his home and his parents, so he avoided those topics and made sure to always have an excuse ready about why they couldn't go to his home and he put on an act (partly) of being a dumbass to discourage deeper conversations.
It had even taken the other three a while before they figured out where he was from, only finding out when he had rolled his eyes at the depiction of the Big Apple in a movie.
Reggie liked his new friends though. They let him stay on their couches when the fighting got bad and never pitied him for the bruises.
They were his family.
However, he did not share everything with them, even after they’d gotten close enough to be brothers. Like the fact that his mother had been a professional ballerina, who was still angry she had to give up her studio for his fathers job, nor the fact that he had spend most of his youth there as well and knew how to dance ballet.
He knew they wouldn't judge him for it or think he was girly or weird, he had seen that with Alex. But still, it was his little thing.
The thing he did when he was down, his small comfort that reminded him of better times when glasses remained whole and his mother still smiled.
Ballet was how he had gotten into music, first learning to play pieces on the piano, later violin, then banjo and guitar, which lead to the true love that was his bass. His mother had always been a music person, his dad too. That used to connect them.
So he kept it to himself, only doing small pirouettes and some stretching in his room or old routines on the beach late at night under the stars to the beat of the fighting floating from the house.
But then they died and nothing was the same anymore. His home was a bike shack, his parents were gone and he was a ghost that could only be seen when they sung with a specific girl. The only good thing was that he would keep his flexibility for all of eternity.
Well, that might be a bit dramatic. Julie was super nice, he still had his friend and their music, and Ray was everything he had ever wanted in a dad, even if the man couldn't see him.
It was just that it hurt sometimes.
It hurt that he would never be able to socialize again, that they never had the breakthrough they had worked so hard for, that their music had been stolen by someone they trusted, that the only good father figure he’d ever known only tolerated him because he was invisible, that his friends were finding other people and he was being left behind.
Life, well, death, just fucking sucked and Reggie hated it. Not always, just some days when the loneliness crept up on him and he had no one to turn to.
So he returned to the thing that had kept him going for most of his life, before he had his band, his new family.
Ballet.
First he went to the beach, like he’d used to, but the bike shack was a bitter reminder of what he had lost and the entire area wasn’t the same anymore. So he returned to the Molina house, which used to be the Willson house.
Ray sometimes listened to classical music while he worked and, since he couldn't see Reggie, it was the perfect time.
He started doing his stretches, before he moved on to the basic positions and some other steps. It was nothing fancy, nothing like he’d used to do, but it was calming. Just flying through the space with his eyes closed while memories played on his eyelids.
His mother beckoning him closer with a smile, the older girls at the studio who had adored him when he was younger, his dad at the piano in the living room, while he either sat next to him or twirled with his mother.
The good times.
Soon it became routine to do old ballet routines in the living room while Ray was working and he was sure none of the others would be home or just whenever there was no one at all.
It was pretty handy that he could phase through objects now and didn’t have to deal with pushing everything to the side, although clothes were still an issue. He had a pair of sweats and a tank-top though, but no shoes, so he had to manage on bare feet.
But it was nice, it was comforting, which meant it had to go to shit at some point.
Today had began not that great. Reggie had been awake, like every night, but this time it hadn’t been nice and quiet, just a reminder that he wasn’t alive anymore. He’d gone on a walk, but all the changes were also a reminder and the day had just been doomed from the start.
First he’d wanted to hang with the guys, but Alex had a date (totally not a date, shut up) with Willie and Luke had heard his parents talking about his cousins and aunt coming, so he was haunting them, leaving Reggie on his own.
He had searched for Ray, but the man was away on a shoot and Reggie was truly on his own in the house. Nothing that bad, he’d thought as he decided to dance for a bit.
Quickly poofing over to the garage, he changed into what he had dubbed his dancing clothes, before poofing back and starting up some Tsjaikovski while he did the warming up. He reasoned that if anyone came home, they’d think Ray had left his music on.
He had started with something easy, but he could do that from muscle memory alone, which wasn’t helping him with getting his mind of things. So the routines had gotten increasingly more difficult throughout the day as he forgot completely about the time.
Because he was so focused on jumping at the right beats and stepping in time with the music, he didn’t notice the door opening and the small gasp Julie let out as she watched him. Nor did he notice Luke and Alex poofing back into the room next to Julie.
They had returned to find an empty garage, so they had assumed Reggie would be hanging with Ray, instead they had found Julie staring at something while standing in the doorway.
With their curiosity piqued they had poofed there and looked to find the usually clumsy bassist flying gracefully through the room.
After a fast set of pirouettes Reggie stopped, the dance was over. He stood still for a few seconds with his eyes closed as he caught his breath only to get snapped out of it by the sound of applause coming from in front of him.
He snapped his eyes open and quickly jumped out of the end position as he squeaked: “How long have you been there?”
“A few minutes.” Julie answered, “But Reggie that was amazing! I didn’t know you could dance like that.”
“Yeah, me neither, that’s sick, dude!” Luke also had processed what he had just seen.
“Why didn’t you ever say?” Alex asked.
“Uh…” Reggie gestured to the air helplessly, before he tried: “Never came up?”
Lukes eyes narrowed as he spotted Reggie lying, which Julie caught onto as she said: “Sorry, was I not supposed to see that?”
Reggie rubbed the back of his head as his cheeks started to flush. He said: “I must have forgotten the time, I’m usually gone before anyone sees. Unless you want to count Ray, but he can’t really see me. It’s my own fault.”
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Luke pouted, “Don’t you trust us?”
“It’s just something personal. My mother used to have a studio back in New York, we danced together when I was little while my dad played the piano, you know, before they started fighting.” Reggie explained, unable to deny Luke anything when he pouted.
“Oh.” Luke looked sheepish, “Sorry for pushing, but that was insane, bro.”
“Thank you!” Reggie grinned.
“Wait, New York?” Julie asked.
“We met Reggie in High School, he used to live in New York before they had to move for his dads job.” Alex explained.
In the background Luke pulled Reggie into a side hug, as he asked: “How can you be so graceful and trip over your own feet while walking, dude?”
“I do not.” Reggie exclaimed.
“You once tripped over air, Reginald.” Alex told him with an eyebrow raise.
Julie now finally closed the door behind her and excitedly asked: “Don’t care how clumsy he usually is, can you show me how you did that?”
“Did what?”
“The dancing? Please, I’ve always wanted to try, but by the time I had outgrown my ‘I’m-not-like-the-other-girls’ phase I was too old to get good and get lessons.” Julie said, “Can you teach me the basics?”
“I mean I could, but I you have to warm up first and I don’t know how flexible you are.” Reggie replied tentatively. Julie cheered, before she raced up the stairs to get changed into better clothes for this, leaving the three boys behind.
“I’m sorry if I pushed you to share.” Luke said after a few seconds, “I didn’t want to force you to tell us that.”
“It’s alright, man.” Reggie said, “I mostly have good memories connected with dancing, it’s something I do when I feel lonely.”
“Do you- do you feel lonely often?” Luke asked with sad eyes, making Reggie realize what he had just admitted.
Reggie didn’t want to lie to him again or make him feel like a bad friend after all he had done for him, so he just said: “It’s been hard turning into a ghost, you know I love to talk to people.”
That was not completely false, Reggie had always been the social butterfly of Sunset Curve and the life of the party. Usually talking to twenty people at the same time, none he had known three seconds ago and he did miss that it just wasn’t the whole story.
Luke saw through the words and felt guilty about leaving his friend alone when he clearly needed company. Alex seemingly had an answer, though. He carefully asked: “You wouldn't mind me joining either, would you?”
“No, of course not. You need better moves if you’re gonna keep joining Dirty Candy.” Reggie grinned.
At that point Julie came barreling down the stairs, catching the tail end of the conversation. She said: “Luke, you have to join now too. It’ll be band-bonding.”
The other two snorted at the idea of bouncy Luke trying to do strict ballet and Luke paled. It was too late for him, however, Julie was set on it. So a few minutes later they were all wearing dance clothes as they cleared the instruments to make space for Julie in the garage.
They had done jumping jacks to get the blood pumping and had struggled with touching their toes and keeping them pointed when Reggie moved to the splits.
“What the fuck, Reg.” Luke exclaimed, hissing in pain as he failed miserably in doing them himself.
“I’ve been doing this since before I can remember, Luke. Would be a bit strange, if I couldn't do them.” Reggie laughed, it was nice to make some more good memories connected to dancing, now with his new family.
From where she was struggling with the split herself, Julie huffed: “What else have you been hiding from us, Reggie? More surprises in there?”
“I mean, I don’t know if I ever mentioned I also play piano and violin?” Reggie replied.
“WHAT!”
Everywhere That I’ve Never Been ~ Jack/Gabriel
Gabriel Reyes was trying to put the Shimada incident behind him… for now, at least.  Genji was Ana’s problem and Hanzo had become Jesse’s.
Jesse.
No!  No.  He didn’t want to think about him, either.  Nothing but a damn ingrate… which didn’t stop him from worrying for even a second.  The waiting was going to be hard for him.  Damn hard.  He didn’t have a ‘job’ to do while they waited for things to cool off.  So Gabriel did what any good bounty hunter would do and found himself something new to work on.  He told himself it wasn’t to keep his mind from constantly fearing the worst; it was so those who attacked the Shimadas… who’d let all of the bounty hunters go without too much fuss… might be watching him.  And if he didn’t act ‘normal’ they might start to wonder what was up.  So - his job for the Shimadas was to do his job.
Fortunately, Gabe had a mark he’d been watching for awhile now.  He hadn’t made a move because he knew it would be a time-consuming assignment.  But now, that was exactly what he needed.  Des Kurzon ran a galaxy-wide smuggling ring.  Compared to people like the Shimadas, he was small potatoes, but someone was offering good money for him.  Real good.  The only problem was his group was tight-knit.  It would take time to work himself into a position where he could get close enough to Kurzon to take the guy for a ride.  Time he now had in abundance.
So that’s what Gabriel did.  He took his skills under cover, offering himself up to the group as a ‘freelancer’ at first.  It took a handful of ‘jobs well done’ before they made the offer to invite ‘Gabe Rivera Costas’ into the fold.  He’d thought about changing his whole name, but was honestly worried he’d forget.  Better not to take that chance.  Besides, he usually did his work in a hood, so even being one of the best hunters in the galaxy, he wasn’t likely to get recognized…
The operation, housed mostly on Mars, was more high tech than what he’d pictured.  The gang had a variety of ships - small and fast for delivering messages, all the way up to vessels that could hold a handful of the small ones.  It was damn impressive!  Especially since he hadn't been able to ferret that information out for himself beforehand.  Gabe began to wonder how much more he didn’t know about these guys… and whether it was going to wind up biting him in the ass somehow.
After being given a basic tour (and a quick ‘Hello. Welcome aboard. Don’t fuck up’ from his mark) Gabe was lead to a practice range.  Yeah… these guys really didn’t fuck around.  They trained hard (and from what he’d seen so far, they also trained young.)  Hell… some of them were younger than Jesse had been when he’d caught the kid trying to steal his ship.  Filing that unsettling information away for later, Gabe’s eyes focused on the range.  There was only one guy shooting, but several more milled around watching him work and cheering him on.  It wasn’t hard to see why.  He didn’t miss.  Not once.  They kept giving him different guns, and he kept hitting that center target.  It was… uncanny.
From next to him, Gabe registered his ‘tour guide,’ Reggie, laughing, “Felt the same way first time I saw the motherfucker shoot.  Guy’s a damn wizard with any piece he puts in his hand.”  He slapped Gabe hard on the back with a grin.  “C’mon… lemme get ya introduced.  Plenty of time for staring.  Des wants him to… help you out while you settle in.”
So… he was getting a handler, then?  The hunter suppressed a grimace.  They really didn’t mess around, did they?.  Damn!  As they strode up, he was able to get a better look at his soon-to-be shadow. Gabe watched as a classically handsome man turned to talk to someone in profile, removing ear protection and then running a hand lazily through his hair.  Gabe was staring. This… golden boy?!  He was a part of this fucked up world?  The hunter wouldn’t believe it except for the obvious deference the others showed him.
“Hey!  Jay!” Reggie called out, waving in greeting.  Gabe jerked his eyes away from those toned arms and broad back as the man fully turned to face them.  Instantly, he found himself staring into the bluest eyes he’d ever seen - so blue they almost seemed to glow.  Subconsciously, he felt his own back straighten a little... and told himself it was ONLY because this guy could make or break his success here.
“Jay - want ya to meet Gabe.  He’s the new guy we’ve all been talking ‘bout - pilot who’s been making all tha Milky Way runs so fast.  Des wants you to keep an eye on him while he gets settled.  You know how it is.”
Gabe did.  Jay was the guy assigned to make sure he was on the level.  And probably to ‘deal’ with him if it seemed like he wasn’t.  In other words, time to play nice… regardless of how his heart seemed to beat faster with those piercing blue eyes on him.
“Looking forward to it,” he replied with a nod to Jay, intentionally not offering a hand.  No reason to seem too friendly, right?  “Wouldn’t mind sharing the range with you sometime, either.  I’ve never seen skills like that.”  That’s right.  Be friendly - complimentary - but tinge it with a little bit of challenge.  Let him know you can handle yourself.  See how he reacts.
remus:
♡ first one they told
♡ well, he more confronted them about it
♡ "regulus has a hickey that wasnt there five minutes ago and i left you two alone to grab a book for that long"
♡ james blushed profusely and regulus simply looked like he wanted to turn to dust and cease to exist at that moment
♡ remus laughed
♡ "im literally dating your brother, regulus, i could care less"
♡ james sighed and relaxed immediately at remus' carefree reaction
♡ regulus didnt lighten up so easy, still scared from being caught
♡ "...you wont tell, right?" he spoke softly
♡ REMUS HEARD HIS HEART SHATTER, THE POOR LAD DIDNT WANT HIS FAMILY TO HEAR ABOUT HIM AND JAMES, MERLIN BLESS THIS PURE CHILDS SOUL
lily:
◇ she found out on accident
◇ she was just trying to find remus when she walked in on regulus and sirius swooning over their boyfriends
◇ she didnt really mean to walk in at the exact moment said "if james potter does not marry me soon, i think i might die, hes so lovely, siri, really he is"
◇ she dropped her books which made the two look up and regulus immediately bust out in tears
◇ he only wanted the marauders to know and now the girl james crushed on for over a year knew
◇ sirius rushed over to lily and begged her not to say a word to anyone, telling her that only the marauders knew
◇ she agreed upon seeing how much of a mess reg became
◇ regulus sobbing attracted remus and james (she was looking for remus in the first place)
◇ james just about slapped lily for "making my precious baby cry"
◇ "you two make a lovely couple, i wont say a word. it was an accident really. i was looking for remus. can we go study now?"
◇ "yeah, of course, lils"
peter:
♤ last of the marauders to know
♤ sirius told him. without permission. at 4am. while they were sneaking to the kitchen.
♤ yeah, it was an odd scenario
♤ sirius had woken up starving and decided to wake up the one marauder who would gladly sneak into the kitchen for cupcakes at 4am; peter
♤ as the two were sneaking about the castle, they caught a gryffindor and slytherin couple snogging
♤ peter gasped and almost peed himself "but they're rivals!"
♤ "no, they're lovers. just like reg and james! WAIT FU-"
♤ sirius didnt have time to swear as peter whipped around and stared at him
♤ "YOUR BROTHER IS WITH JAMES??!?!??"
♤ sirius guilty nodded and shoved peter into the kitchen
♤ he then explained that regulus and james wanted to tell him later that day but now that peter knew, they should know that he knew
♤ james slapped sirius
♤ regulus thanked peter for being accepting (relatively so, he just wanted to know who he was supposed to cheer on at quidditch matches)
BONUS! mcgonagall:
♧ hell yeah, james told mcgonagall
♧ she actually found out after remus and sirius
♧ "reggie, cmon, i have to let the third love of my life know that im taken" "T H I R D ?"
♧ first is regulus, second is sirius, and third is dear minnie
♧ regulus and james knocked politely on her door after dinner one evening and were invited inside
♧ "what can i do for you boys?"
♧ and james, with the dumbest grin on his face, said "my dear minnie, i am now taken by the more handsome of the black brothers and felt the need to make you aware of my relationship status"
♧ she grinned. though taken aback at the relationship, she was pleasantly surprised that james and regulus had taken the time to tell her
♧ "that's lovely, you two. im assuming i must keep this a secret?" "oh yes, only moony and padfoot know"
♧ mcgonagall felt honoured that she was the THIRD to know
♧ "professor?" "yes, mister black?" "please make sure my parents dont find out, or anyone in slytherin"
♧ regulus had shattered yet another heart
♧ "of course, mister black. you are safe here at hogwarts"
Fill in the Blanks
I honestly had no idea what to title this thing...
So, @not-so-innocent-bi-sander is a sweetie, put me in her fic and now I have a personal ship that I adore and write fics for because I’m trash. I’ve had this idea for a while and I wrote it a little while ago, mostly just for myself and Jordan, but I thought “why the heck not share this?”
AU: Tattoo Soulmate and Boss/Employee Pairings: Relia (OC/OC) Words: 2697 Warnings: Kissing, Implied Sexual Content. Anything else please let me know!
Summary: Julia hates the idea that she might meet her soulmate and they won’t get on, so she covers herself up at all times. She’s also crushing badly on her boss.
Julia’s eyes glanced at her empty soulmark on the back of her hand as she got dressed for the day, her usual feeling of apprehension growing stronger with every second. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to find her soulmate, it was more that she was worried her soulmate would be someone she didn’t like or someone who didn’t like her. She just wanted to be sure that she would be happy in the long run.
At least that’s what she told herself as she tugged the long-sleeve turtleneck over her head and looked at herself in the mirror. Almost every inch of her skin was covered to be sure that she would avoid random skin contact. Julia spun around in front of the mirror, checking herself before picking up her phone that lay on the end of her bed.
The light at the top corner was flashing so she knew she had an unread message. Unlocking it, she couldn’t help the small smile that came to her lips as she saw the notification.
We still on for tonight?
Julia typed out a short response before shoving her phone in her bag and pulling out her gloves. She got one last look at the outline of a cat that was proudly sat on the back of her hand as she slipped the black gloves on. She made one more quick check of her apartment before throwing on her coat, picking up her two bags that were by the door and heading off to work.
As she walked the streets, Julia was wary of all the physical contact going on around her. It was nothing unusual as many people would generally initiate random high fives or handshakes or brushes of fingers as they walked past in the hopes of finding their soulmates, but she didn’t want any of it even when she was entirely covered like she was. The only part of her that wasn’t covered was her face which was a socially unacceptable place to come into contact with on purpose. Still, she was cautious and far too tense as she walked to the coffee store where she worked.
The bell on the door chimed as Julia entered the small shop. She beelined for the doorway that was behind the counter but was stopped when a voice called out to her from the other side of the shop.
“Hey Julia. How’d the trip down here go?” The employee gave a sympathetic smile as the woman sighed.
“Ugh, awful. I’m still so damn tense. I hate it, all the random touches and everything.” Julia shuddered to emphasise her point.
“Yeah, I know. When your stuff’s away, come help me sort out new stock over here?”
“Sure thing, El.”
Julia made her way into the staff area and threw her bags into their usual spot. Her jacket was peeled off and she picked up the apron that sat on the hook she then placed the coat onto. The apron was thrown over her head and she began to tie it around her back. As she wandered back out into the front of the store, she reflected on the two years she’d spent working at this shop.
It had originally just been seen in her mind as temporary job until she got something else that she wanted to do, but that had all changed completely as soon as she walked through the door and was greeted by the owner. He was possibly the most attractive human Julia had ever laid eyes on and his attitude immediately sparked something in her. They had already begun to banter back and forth before she’d even handed him her application, which he said would be ‘considered’ with a flirtatious smile and wink.
There was something there between them. Something that seemed like it could go somewhere that was different than their current ‘Boss, Employee’ relationship, and everyone could see it. Julia would be on the receiving end of it all from the other employees of the shop as none of them would dare say some of those things directly to the man that controlled their job. This didn’t mean he didn’t indirectly hear some of the comments or offer some of his own every now and then, but Julia didn’t want to get her hopes up too high for anything. She shook her head to clear the thoughts as she passed the threshold into the front of the store.
Julia worked alongside her co-worker, Elliot, for the rest of the day. Julia was stationed around the small store to help customers find exactly what they were looking for, while Elliot handled the register. They had a good system and enjoyed themselves. Around midday, the people visiting the store thinned as many members of the public were heading off to grab lunch. Elliot headed into the back to have their lunch, while Julia stood in the doorway, so she was able to both chat with her co-worker and keep an eye on the store.
There was something bothering her and, as her eyes looked around the staff area and rested on the door to the office, it was only now that she realised what it was. “Hey El?”
“Yeah?”
“Where’s the boss?”
Elliot laughed, “Missing him?” They took another bite of their food, watching as the woman in the doorway tensed.
Julia blushed and spluttered a broken response, “What?! N-no! I was, just, wonderin- you know, whatever, forget I asked.” She headed away from the open door and stood behind the counter, huffing indignantly.
Elliot continued to laugh. Their voice raised so that they were sure Julia could hear them, “I know as much as you do, trust me! He wasn’t here when I got here!”
“That’s weird!” Julia called back, returning to her previous position, “He’s usually around in the morning at least…”
Elliot shrugged and just continued eating, not having anything else to add to the subject. The two continued to relax for the duration of both of their lunch hours, with both of them only having to take care of a customer or two during the two hours.
The rest of the day passed by smoothly and the end of Julia’s shift seemed to sneak up on her. She only realised once two more employees came in and Elliot headed into the back to grab their things. Julia chatted with all three of them as they prepared to head out to work or to leave before going to grab her bags.
She took them both into the staff bathroom and locked the door behind her. Around half an hour later, she emerged in a completely different outfit that was, by her usual standard of dress, pretty revealing. It was a simple black halter-neck top combined with a black skater skirt and fishnets, along with a fair amount of dark makeup. She was putting away the gloves she usually wore and whatever makeup she wasn’t bringing with her into her other bag when she heard a familiar voice that she’d not heard all day.
“Look at you, all dressed up.”
Julia felt her cheeks already warming as she raised her gaze to look up at her boss. She stood up to her full height before responding, “What about it?”
The taller man looked her up and down for a moment before taking a sip from the mug in his hand, “Nothing, just something different than usual. Almost forgot you were that white.”
Julia scoffed and rolled her eyes, “Whatever, I gotta head off. I’m gonna be late. See you tomorrow, Reggie.” She made to walk off, but Reggie called out.
“What are you going to be late for? Usually you’re not doing anything.”
Julia shifted her skirt awkwardly, trying hard not to make eye contact with him, “I, um, I have a date.”
“Oh.” was the only reaction she got from her boss.
“Yeah, I just uh… thought that I should, maybe try, y’know?” Julia laughed nervously.
She’d never brought up her second reason for why she was always completely covered up at work. All her co-workers had asked at least once, and she’d always answered with her usual answer, but there was one more that had been brought to the surface. Julia was fully aware that she was extremely far gone for her employer, to the point where she would sometimes daydream about him being her soulmate and how that situation would play out, but this was also the problem. She was worried that he wasn’t actually going to be her soulmate, that if they did touch, nothing would happen, and he’d want nothing more to do with her. This was her true reason for still remaining to be covered up entirely at work.
Julia had the chance to mull all this over in her head as Reggie took an extended drink from the mug in his hand, seemingly downing it all in one go. He placed the now empty looking mug on the small staff table and gave her a smile, “I hope it goes well. Just don’t turn up to work covered in marks, okay?”
That got her to sigh deeply and finally begin heading out, “See you tomorrow, Reggie.”
As Julia passed the man, she felt her foot catch on the heel of her other and she began to fall. Her hands let go of the bags and went out to brace herself for the impact, but two arms caught her before she could even reach the ground.
“Woah, are you okay?” Reggie asked, clearly concerned as he turned the woman in his grasp to face him.
“Yeah, yeah, I… I think soooo……” Julia trailed off as she noticed the back of her hand tingling like crazy. She looked down at her arms and saw one of Reggie’s hands holding onto it tightly. It was only then she realised she’d forgotten to grab her coat. Her gaze flicked up to her hand and she saw the outline of the cat fill with an orange hue. Her eyes widened significantly as the whole situation caught up to her and she sharply looked up to see Reggie’s reaction.
He didn’t look all too surprised. Sure, she could just about see a little shock in his eyes, but for the most part, Reggie looked extremely pleased. His grip on her arm loosened slightly and the other arm that had come to rest against her side slithered around her waist, coaxing her closer to him. The hand holding her arm slid down to hold her hand, allowing Reggie to raise it up and press the gentlest of kisses to the now vibrantly coloured soulmark. It was such a simple action, but it had Julia’s breath catching slightly.
“So, what was that about a date?” Reggie said quietly, looking at her with an amused expression.
“Just… give me a moment?” Julia managed to extract herself from his hold so she could dig around in her bag for her phone. She opened up the chat with the person she was originally planning on meeting up with.
I’m sorry for cancelling so late, but I just found my soulmate, so... yeah. Hope you’re not mad and you find someone soon <3
She hit send and locked her phone once again. Her eyes raised to look up at Reggie once more, “So, what now?”
“I think you should follow me.” Reggie slipped his hand into hers and guided her through another door in the back that led to a staircase.
Julia had been out this way many times, as it had a back door that they had to leave through after closing up for the day, but this was the first time she’d been out here with Reggie. She wasn’t sure what she expected but being pushed against the wall and finding herself completely engulfed by the taller man was definitely not one of her first thoughts. After getting over the brief shock, Julia found herself almost melting into Reggie’s hold as she returned the fierce kiss he was giving her, her hands coming up to weave into his long braids and hold him close.
Minutes later, Reggie slowly released her lips and pulled away. Julia instinctively attempted to chase him down in order to not lose the contact but stopped once he was fully detached. The pair looked at each other during a moment of silence, eyes darting all over every inch of the other they could see.
“Two years…” Reggie muttered, voice rumbling deeper than before, “Two years of avoiding each other…”
“I know… I’m sorry…” Julia whispered as her hands travelled along his toned arms, enjoying the fact she was finally able to feel his skin under her own.
Reggie eventually did guide her up the stairs, bringing her into an apartment that resided above the shop downstairs. From the short first impression she was able to get, it seemed pretty nice, but she found she was a little too distracted by the fact that she was almost immediately dragged across the apartment and into the bedroom.
She was swung around so Reggie could close the door, causing her to be a little disoriented in the new space. It didn’t take her long to be grounded, however, as Reggie closed the short distance between them once again and initiated yet another kiss. This time was softer, less harsh. The pace had slowed significantly, allowing Julia to focus almost entirely on the slow, smooth slide of their lips. Their position and heights began to take its toll on both of them, so Reggie moved to sit on the edge of the bed and pulled Julia up, so she straddled his lap.
It was a long time before they broke apart for an extended amount of time. Both of them were breathing heavily, yet Julia managed to get out a couple of words almost immediately.
“Holy shit…”
Reggie’s mouth broke out into a wide grin as he laughed at her reaction, “Is that all?”
Julia shoved his shoulder playfully, “Oh hush.” She bit back her own grin as she giggled. Her arms were looped loosely around his neck, hands resting atop each other behind his head. Her fingers brushed over the top of her soulmark, “So, what’s yours look like?”
Reggie understood her question, even with the lack of context. He indicated that she needed to move off of his lap and she did so, ending up sat with her legs crossed in the centre of the large bed. He remained sat at the edge and simply pulled his shirt off to reveal a large, outstretched, hot pink coloured wing that covered half of his back.
There was a moment where neither of them said a thing or moved a muscle. Reggie seemed to be waiting for Julia to react in some way, while Julia was feeling a sense of awe looking at the huge soulmark. The mattress dipped as she crawled over to him in order to run her hand along the length of the wing. She took her time, tracing several of the finer details with her fingers as she trailed down his back. Her other hand raised up and began running down the other side of his back in tandem with its counterpart, providing a good indication that it wasn’t just the soulmark she was admiring now.
Reggie chuckled again, head turning to try and get a glance at the woman behind him, “Enjoying yourself?”
Julia flushed a light pink, embarrassment causing heat to rise to her cheeks. “It’s… gorgeous…” She breathed, unable to articulate much better than that.
“I used to not like it at all, but now I appreciate it a lot more.” Reggie said, a soft smile pulling at the corner of his lip. “But enough of that.” He acted without much of a warning. He turned and grabbed a hold of the woman, pinning her down on the bed. He loomed over her, his long braids falling like a curtain around their faces, “I think there are more important things to do.”
“Like what?”
Reggie lowered his head, brushing his lips against Julia’s lightly, “Making up for lost time.”
The Best Laid Plans of Ducks and Mutants
After another plan goes awry, Negaduck berates his team. Afterwards they pick up the pieces and get pizza.
Based on my au/reboot idea
Negaduck sat leaning back into the shadows from behind his desk, glaring at the rest of the team assembled before him.
“Well boys, does anyone here know why the heist failed? Again!” He snarled.
The Fearsome Five had planned to rob a bank that night; their leader had found a way to discreetly cut a hole in the side of the building from the alleyway right into the vault. Negaduck’s plan had required total silence to avoid notice; this had promptly gone south halfway through, as a mistake had lead to nearby security guards being alerted and the five of them having to retreat before Darkwing Duck showed up.
Negaduck eyed Megavolt. “How ‘bout you, Sparky? You remember what happened?”
Megavolt trembled, struggling to remember the plan itself, let alone how it went wrong.
“Hey, don’t pick on him! It’s not his fault we almost got caught!” Quackerjack snapped, slamming his hands onto the desk.
Negaduck leaned forward into the toymaker’s face. “True. I do believe it was because someone was laughing at his own lame jokes!”
Quackerjack scowled. “I was bored, so Mr Banana Brain told me a joke to pass the time.”
He brought out the toy in question and put on a squeaky voice. “Hey, don’t blame me, Smee! I’m not the one who can’t sit still for more than ten minutes.”
Bushroot snorted. “A real leader would’ve planned for Quackerjack’s boredom, like you should’ve last time at that museum.”
Negaduck’s eye twitched. “You wanna repeat that, Turnip Brain?” He growled.
“Now, now everyone. Experts would agree that the limited time offer on Quacky’s attention span is not easy to predict,” Liquidator offered nervously, sliding up to Negaduck’s side.
“Boss, maybe we should let him stay behind to play next time we have a quiet mission, huh?” He shrunk down until he was shorter than Negaduck and clasped his hands behind his back in hopes of appearing placating.
Negaduck rubbed his face. “Oh shuddup ya kiss up. Last I heard, the lookout is supposed to warn his team before security bust us and call for backup, instead of napping!”
He took a bag of cement out from under the desk. “Wanna explain that, ya wet noodle?”
Liquidator trembled. “I-I figured you’re amazing plan would go off without a hitch a-and, um…”
“Just drop it, Negaduck! We didn’t get captured and no one even knows it was us, quit being a jerk and go plot a better plan,” Bushroot said heatedly.
For a while, the mutated duck and inter-dimensional terrorist were engaged in a stare-off.
Eventually, Negaduck broke eye contact and jumped out of his seat.
“Ya know what, between the sniveling, the nonsense, the sucking up, and the useless criticism, I’ve just about had with you morons for the night.”
With that, Negaduck stomped off to his private rooms.
Bushroot huffed. “Licks’, you need to start standing up to Negadork. Your like a doormat around him.”
Liquidator pouted. “The survey shows I’m not the only one scared of the boss.”
He pointed to Megavolt, currently in a fetal position on the floor. Quackerjack was sat beside him, petting his head gently.
“Oh yeah, well you still haven’t explained why you fell asleep,” Quackerjack retorted.
Megavolt blinked. “Hey, yeah! If you’d seen those guards in time, Quacky coulda sorted them out before he started laughing! Now Negaduck’s mad and it’s all your fault!” He yelled, now remembering what happened.
Quackerjack frowned. “That’s not what I meant, Sparky.” The toymaker didn’t like when his friends fought and blamed each other. “It’s probably Negaduck’s fault anyway.” Everyone turning against one another just gave him more power.
Bushroot frowned. “Although, I have to ask. Why did you fall asleep? You usually don’t need it.”
Liquidator frowned. “Experts agree that three days straight on stakeout makes even the most energetic worker a bit tired,” he answered, his voice weary.
Bushroot clenched his fists. For the heist, everyone had been assigned different roles; Quackerjack and Megavolt built the machine to cut into the vault, Negaduck would use it, and Brushroot would grab the cash. Liquidator had been ordered to stakeout the bank to learn the security guards’ patterns, and on the night of the heist he would be on lookout. It was, however, a little known fact that while Liquidator didn’t need as much sleep as a mortal would, he was still a living being who needed his rest. Normally, the water dog took power naps every so often to function poperly, but by the sounds of things Negaduck hadn’t even allowed that.
“See Megsy, it all goes back to Negadweeb. He made Licky exhausted and let me get bored.” Quackerjack tugged at his hat and whined. “That meanie always ruins everything! Why do we even work for him anyways?!”
Bushroot took a deep breath. “Because like it or not, Negaduck’s the only one with any chance of taking down Negadrip. We need him.”
Everyone looked at the floor sullenly as the tension settled on them like lead. As the caped crusader’s counterpart, Negaduck was the only one who could possibly defeat him, alongside the other most dangerous criminals in St. Canard. He needed them, and they needed him, leading to an unfortunate alliance to the short-tempered criminal.
On the other hand, the four of them had become good friends almost immediately, so they at least had each other to help cope with their leader.
Quackerjack suddenly bounced up onto his feet. “Ugh, I hate it when everyone gets all mopey! Who wants pizza?!”
The others couldn’t help but grin. Quackerjack’s answer to all of life’s woes usually involved toys and food. He was also the only one who could lift everyone’s mood after a meeting with Negaduck.
“Alright, let’s get pizza,” Bushroot agreed. “We can go to my place and hang out.”
“Why can’t we go to my hideout?” Quackerjack and Megavolt said in unison.
“Because I’m not dealing with light bulbs or toys everywhere and I wanna check on my plants,” Bushroot answered.
Liquidator slung his arm around Bushroot’s shoulders. “Then let’s go, go, go!”
After a pit stop at a small pizzeria that served decent food and didn’t question when super villains and heroes alike dropped by - no matter how beaten up they sometimes were when they arrived - the four headed over to Bushroot’s greenhouse.
Everyone settled around the table with three boxes of pizza. Reggie couldn’t actually eat normal food anymore so after tending to his plants he settled down with his roots in a box of soil; Bud could eat, but this involved dissolving the food around where his stomach once was, so he had to sit with the table up to his chest so he wouldn’t gross out Elmo, and to avoid Jack poking at him trying to see how it worked.
“Seriously, Buddy. Why didn’t you tell Negadork you needed rest? Or just come to me about it, I could’ve sorted it out,” Reggie sighed.
Bud rubbed his shoulders. “It pays not to start fights with the boss,” he answered awkwardly.
Reggie rolled his eyes. “You’re a water elemental. You know what kind of power you have, so use it! Make a point. Or at least don’t let yourself be pushed around if you won’t actually fight back, just make the point that you can.”
Reggie knew all about dealing with bullies and bad bosses of course. Once upon a time he had let himself get pushed around and had eventually had his whole world pulled out from under him. As a mutant, however, Reginald Bushroot hardly knew the meaning of the word fear.
Bud was of the same opinion, and had also put on a confident front in his old life; but to get to where he had been he’d kissed up to his old bosses to get on top, now those instincts came back whenever he saw Negaduck. Also, the guy just plain scared him.
“Aw, let ‘im be Reggie, we can’t all be angry at everything all the time like you. Frankly it just sounds exhausting,” Jack said.
Reggie rolled his eyes. “Like you can talk about being exhausting, Jack, and stop playing with your food.”
Jack looked up from his attempts to make faces on his pizza slice with the toppings.
“Ya know, Reg, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,” he grinned.
Everyone else groaned at the bad joke.
“Oh please, that one was hilarious and you all know it.”
“I just wish he wouldn’t push us around like that,” Elmo said, staring at his pizza forlornly. “I mean, we’re not the only ones who screw up our plans,” he stopped and frowned, “I think. He’s messed up some too, right?”
Jack nodded and patted his friend’s shoulder. “Absolutely. Like that time he got so mad he set off the laser cannon early before Dripwing got anywhere near it and we got our butts kicked before it could recharge.”
“Was that the time we held the mayor for ransom, or the time we took over the harbour?”
“I think those were the same plan, we kept the mayor in the brig on that big ship.”
Soon the evening turned to complaining about Negaduck and the various ways he’d ruined his own plans, or had just generally upset anyone in the group.
“Ya know what?!” Jack announced, bagning his fist on the table. “We should all just boot Negadork outta the team. We keep losing with him anyway, he hasn’t beaten Dripwing, and he’s a big old meanie!”
Elmo shook his head frantically. “Not a chance, he’d kill us.”
Bud nodded in agreement. “Experts agree that Negaduck would wipe out a riot without a second thought.”
“Oh please, if he can’t take out Darkwing, what chance does he have against three mutants and Jack,” Reggie said.
“Just cause he can’t beat Darkwing, doesn’t mean Negaduck is weak,” Elmo explained. “And besides, Darkwing never actually wants to hurt us, Negaduck wouldn’t hold back.”
Everyone sighed. It was true, whilst the caped crusader was certainly the bane of their existence, no one could say he didn’t care about their welfare, often trying to detain the four of them as quickly and painlessly as possible. His little sidekick, Quiverwing Quack, was a bit of a wild card in that regard; but on the most part she followed in her mentor’s footsteps to help others as much as possible.
Negaduck, on the other hand, revelled in violence and mayhem. As much as he needed the Fearsome Five’s help, as Darkwing was always just barely a step ahead of him, he was also just as capable of dealing with them as his counterpart, and far more willing to tear each of them to pieces, molecule by molecule, should they rise up.
Jack squirmed in his seat. “Ugh, everyone’s getting all depressed again! Let’s go watch a movie.”
They couldn’t agree more, wanting to be rid of the hopeless feelings clogging their thoughts, at least temporarily. Soon, Reggie had set up his stolen TV and found a movie. The three of them squeezed onto his stolen sofa, with Bud resting happily in a paddling pool.
A few hours later everyone was out cold in the dim light of the TV, the credits rolling; Jack and Elmo leaned against each other, Reggie was draped over the arm of the sofa as close to Bud as he could be without actually being in the paddling pool, and Bud relaxed his dog-like form to simply be a puddle for the night. For a little while, they just let each other feel safe.
Time for a Change-Sweet Pea
Tumblr media
Description: Reader gets fed up with South Side High School and decides it’s time for a change. When she comes back, no one can believe it’s her.
It was Sophomore year; you were sat outside, waiting for your best friend, Toni Topaz, so you could walk home together. A group of ghoulie’s stepped out in front of you, “What do we have here? Miss Y/N. Careful there, you’re looking a little heavier than usual.” You put on an irritated face, hiding that his words affected you.
“Fuck off, ghoul.” you grumbled, heading off when you spotted Toni. “Watch out! Don’t wanna split the ground now!” You shook your head, meeting your friend.
“Everything ok, Y/N?” she asked, placing a gentle hand on your arm. “I’m okay, Toni. Don’t worry.” You gave her a smile as your other friends, Sweet Pea and Fangs, joined the two of you. “Ready to go, guys?” Fangs asked. You nodded in unison and headed towards the direction of the trailer park you all lived in.
You and Toni were best friends your entire life. In kindergarten, you met Sweet Pea and Fangs, who sat alone on the playground, messing with bugs. Usual boy stuff. From then on, you four became inseparable. He’d never admit it, but Sweet Pea has had a massive crush on you since middle school. You never noticed that when he caught people bullying you, they came to school the next day with black eyes.
Today was the last straw. You were used to the bully’s words, but it was starting to affect your mental health. You were tired. Tired of the name calling, tired of feeling so lethargic all the time, tired of the situation you let yourself get to. When you got home, you came to the conclusion it was time for a change. Not for them, but for you. After all, the best form of revenge is being better.
You paced your room before pulling out your phone, dialing the familiar number of your cousin, Amelia. Amelia was 22 and lived a very fit lifestyle. She was a personal trainer and very patient. She also lived in New York.
“Hey, Y/N/N, what’s up”
“Hey Amelia, I know this is really random and out of the blue, but I really need a change.”
“What do you mean? Is everything okay?”
“Yeah...well, no. I’m just so sick of everything. I’m unfit and it affects more than my physical health. I’m tired all the time and I really just want to change the way I live my life while I still can. Ya know?”
“Of course, kiddo. You know you always have a place with me. I just hope you’re doing this for you and not someone else.”
“I’m doing it for me, Amelia.”
“You can come here if you want? There’s a high school down the street from my apartment. We can get you transfered there and get to work.”
“How soon?”
“I can have you starting Monday.”
“Thank you, Amelia. You’re the best.”
“Anytime, love you, Y/N.”
“Love you too, Amelia.” you finished, hanging the phone up. Your mom was never home. She traveled a lot for work, so you’d just have to do this yourself.
It was Saturday. You had your bags packed and you sat in your living room with Toni, Fangs, and Sweet Pea.
“Are you sure you have to go?” Sweet Pea asked. You had told Fangs and Sweets that something came up with your moms work and you needed to move in with your cousin in New York City. Toni knew the real reason you were moving.
“I know it sucks, but we’ll keep in contact! You guys are my best friends, I’d never cut you off.”
“We know, Y/N. It just sucks that you’re leaving.” Fangs replied. From outside, your cousin honked, letting you know she was there. You all walked outside, them helping you with your bags to load in your cousins truck.
“Don’t forget about me. I want frequent calls.” you said, pulling them in for a hug.
“I want pictures.” Toni whispered, hugging you tight. You nodded, fighting back tears as you got in your cousins car, heading off to New York City.
Now, it was Senior year. After almost two years of hard work, you were where you wanted to be. Not skinny, but fit. You had curves in all the right places and muscles to match. Needless to say, you could kick some ass.
It was time to move back to Riverdale. You got word that South Side High had shut down, meaning you’d have to transfer to Riverdale High. You hadn’t told anyone but Toni you were coming back. You wanted to surprise them. No one but her even knew of your transformation. She visited you regularly.
You got up, heading to get ready for your first day back. You threw on some dark blue skinny jeans and a burgundy top, throwing a thick sweater over it. You finished the outfit with knee high black leather boots. You left your hair in its natural state and finished your makeup quickly, heading to the door with your keys in hand. You hopped in your moms old truck she had let you earn over time, heading off to school.
You parked in the Riverdale High School parking lot, getting out and locking the truck. You threw your bag over your shoulder, making the journey up the stairs to enter your new school. You made your way to the office, where you picked up your schedule and made your way to the hall, in search for the faces you missed most. You spotted them in a room with a few other people.
You walked in the room and before you could make your way to them, you were stopped by a boy adorning a letterman jacket and a flirtatious tone. “Hey there. I’m Reggie. And you are?” You rolled your eyes, “Not interested.” You cut off his response by walking past him. At the sound of your voice, three heads turned around fast.
“Y/N?!”
Toni hugged you first, excited to see you. Next came Fangs, who shouted, “We’re finally all back together!” His words made you smile and you hugged Sweet Pea, who wrapped his arms around you tightly and for a little bit longer, not that you minded. You’ve been head over heels for years at this point.
“I missed you.” he whispered into your hair. “I missed you too, Sweets.” you smiled, breaking from the hug to join your friends on the couch, Sweet Pea sitting on the arm of the couch next to the seat you were in, Toni on the other side of you.
“And who might this be?” A girl with black hair and pearls asked, leaning forwards. “Y/N Y/L/N. The missing member of our group.” Toni replied, patting your shoulder.
“Veronica Lodge, pleasure to meet you.” she smiled. “Nice to meet you as well.” You replied.
You sat outside the school on a brick wall, just taking in Riverdale around you. It was the lunch hour. You felt a presence next to you and you turned, meeting Sweet Pea’s eyes. “Hey Sweets.” you smiled. “Hey Y/N, I need to tell you something.” the way he spoke worried you and you turned to face him fully.
“What is it?” you asked.
“Y/N...I’ve been ridiculously in love with you since middle school. And now that you’re back? I couldn’t take keeping it in anymore. I didn’t want to tell you while you were gone. It didn’t feel right not being face to face. I hope you don’t think this has anything to do with your new look, because you’ve been absolutely gorgeous our entire lives. Inside and out.”
“Sweet Pea. I believe you, and I’d be lying if I said I haven’t felt the same for years, I just didn’t want to lose you as a friend.”
“You could never lose me, Y/N. You’re stuck with me.” he chuckled.
“Good.” you grinned, facing him completely as his hands came up to rest on your neck, thumbs tracing your jaw.
“Be mine?” he asked, his forehead resting against yours.
“Thought you’d never ask.” you grinned, pushing your head forwards slightly to meet in the kiss you’ve been waiting for.
A/N: Thank you for reading! I’m so sorry it took so long to get something up. Classes are back in session, so I’ve been trying to mix that in with writing as well. Bear with me guys. Much love! xx
The Lookout and the Maid
Warnings: Brief unwanted sexual advances. Sadie smiled to herself, hands on hips as she admired the first class stateroom that she had just cleaned. 15 minutes. A new record. She placed a hand in the door, feeling the smooth varnished wood under her fingers. One day, she hoped to earn enough money so she could travel First Class on the Titanic, if it stayed in service for long enough. She jumped away when she heard the door open and stood near the fireplace as her employer, Mr. Ries walked in.
“Ah Sadie. There you are. I trust that you have cleaned the room?”
“Yes sir” Sadie nodded as she noticed Mr. Ries walk up to her, an action that made her anxious.
“You’re a good maid. I’m so glad I hired you. You have done your duties for now. How about we have a little fun?’ Mr. Ries purred in her ear, causing Sadie to shift uncomfortably in her spot.
“That would be most inappropriate sir” the young maid whimpered.
“No one has to know my dear” Ries grabbed her wrist.
“I don’t want to Sir, please let me go”
“It’s not for the whore to say "yes sir” or “no sir”. You’re mine. I own you, Harlot!“ Ries yelled, his grip on her wrist tightening. Sadie pulled her wrist out of his grip.
"I’ll kill you, you BASTARD if you try any of that!” Sadie yelled back, anger setting in. Ries glared at her before stricking. Sadie stumbled back, a hand hovering over her cheek where a red mark was beginning to form. She pulled the door open and ran out, mumbling apologies to anyone she ran into, unaware of the concerned glances sent her way. She had no destination in mind but she kept running. She slowed down as she ran into the railings. She gripped the railing tightly as she leaned over slightly, trying to calm her breathing.
Reggie Lee had just finished his shift and was heading back to his room so he could have a nap before lunch but something caught his eye. A maid leaning over the railings. He looked at her for a minute before making his way over to her, where upon further inspection, he could see that she was sobbing.
“Ma'am?” Lee asked softly and he noticed how she seemed to tense. Sadie took a deep breath and turned, visibly relaxing when she saw it wasn’t her employer.
“Are you alright miss? If I’m not mistaken, I saw you crying” Lee spoke, his voice still soft.
Sadie was about to reassure him that was she fine but when she saw the compassion on his face, she couldn’t help but cry all over again.
“Hey..it’s okay..” Lee walked over to her and without a moments hesitation, he wrapped her arms around her in a comforting manner and let her cry into his shoulder, while he whispered comforting words to her.
20 minutes later, the crying had stopped and the two were sat across from each other in deck chairs as Sadie told him everything that caused her to be upset. Lee had his jaw clenched as he listened to all the advances that her boss had made towards her. Rich snobs thinking they were entitled to everything and thinking that they could do whatever they wanted just because they had money. Lee couldn’t let her go back to the boss, there was no telling what he would do to her once she got back.
“Miss Densmore..” Lee said, looking up at Sadie. “We can report your employer and even though you work for him, you’ll work for White Star Lines for the rest of the journey”
Sadie thought it over. Once they docked in New York, she could find another job and finally be free. Sadie let a ghost of a smile appear on her lips as she nodded. Lee smiled as he stood up and offered her his hand.
Lee waited outside the Captains office where Sadie was reporting her employer to Captain Smith, Bruce Ismay and Thomas Andrews.
“Reggie?” Lee turned when he heard his name being called. Behind him was Fleet with a smirk on his face.
“Got into trouble again have you?” Fleet smirked as he walked up to Reggie.
“For once, no’ Reggie grinned, allowing himself to feel proud.
"Then why are you here?”
“I was walking to the my room and I saw a maid crying. I went to see if she was alright. She is currently reporting her employer to Captain Smith, Ismay and Mr. Andrews.”
“I’m guessing her employer is a prick?”
“Yeah”
The two stood in a comfortable silence for a few minutes until the door to the Captains office opened up and the four occupants left, smiling. Even though Ismay’s smile could be mistaken for a scowl.
“Mr Lee!” Sadie ran up to him, grinning.
“It’s Reggie” The man in question grinned.
“Reggie then! Mr Ismay hired me on the spot. Strange I know but I accepted. Captain Smith is getting Chief Officer Wilde to tell Mr. Ries , they are also having the master at arms accompany Mr. Wilde incase Ries becomes a nuisance” Sadie couldn’t help but smile. "That’s great Sadie!” Reggie grinned and hugged her once the Captain and Ismay were out of sight. A Wolf whistle caused the two to jump apart, Fleet standing there, his smirk growing wider. “Sadie, this is my friend Fleet. He’s a prick” Reggie smiled as Fleet pretended to be offended but it was soon replaced by a smile as the 3 crew members started talking. “Let’s show you to the crew dining room. I’m starving!” Fleet grinned, being overly dramatic. Sadie laughed as Reggie rolled his eyes, their fingers interlocking with each others. That was only a few days ago and now Sadie was looking for a way off the ship. Sadie wasn’t sure how much time had passed as the only thought running through her mind was to hang out as tight as she could as the aft started to rise up in the air. A loud but low metallic groan could be heard and Sadie’s eyes widened as she saw the ship beginning to break apart right under her feet. She could only let out a sound of distress as she fell. Sadie groaned as she woke up. Everything hurt. She sat up and looked around her. She was on the first class promenade deck. She stood up and caught a glimpse of herself in the window. Her brown curls were cascading down her back instead of being pined up and she was wearing a white evening gown with beadwork. That’s why she saw it. The group or people who had lost their lives that night, waiting by the grand staircase. Reginald “Reggie” Lee died in 1913, shortly after the Titanic inquiries back home. When he opened his eyes again, a steward was opening the door for him. He nodded his thanks to the steward as he walked in. People who had died that night turned to look at him smiling as Reggie walked past them, making his way to the grand staircase. He came across Mr. Murdoch, Mr. Wilde, Mr. Moody and Mr. Andrews, shaking their hands before his eyes landed on her. Sadie. She was stood there, looking as beautiful as ever. He ran up the last few remaining steps and she smiled when she saw him. They both walked closer to each other, only inches apart. Both hesitated before they kissed each other, something they never got to chance to do aboard the Ship of Dreams. Reggie held her close, afraid she would disappear if he ever let go. Sadie Densmore and Reggie Lee would be there, waiting with open arms when Fleet joined them in 1965. The three of them sharing a hug that they didn’t want to end. @violetlightning2015
Riverdale 1 x07 thoughts
Starts with Jughead’s dream - seemingly perfect family with everyone fake smiling, and Juggie’s bewildered expression through all of this to kinda indicate that maybe he thought it was too good to be true? Interesting though that he wants his family to come together so bad, yet he dreams of being part of another (Betty’s) who he knows is not perfect either. Does that mean deep down that he’s given up on his family? That the only way for him to be happy would be if he were with another family? Which is what happens at the end of the episode, he ends up living with Archie! So was the beginning meant to bookend the end? Its also evident that he feels guilty about stabbing Archie in the back, presumably because he’s married to Betty in the dream. Why does he feel that? He knows Archie doesn’t feel that way about Betty. Betty did have feelings for Archie but she’s obviously getting over them, since she’s willing to move on with him. Why the guilt? Okay, Archie wasn’t exactly over the moon when he found out about bughead, but Jughead already sensed that he wouldn’t be and I wonder where that’s coming from?
The next scene with Juggie waking up in the closet under the stairs, a clever reference to Harry Potter, which is surprisingly not misplaced. Since Harry had a miserable life till Hogwarts came along and Juggie’s having a miserable life now until his friends - Archie and Betty come through for him. And Archie finding him was good. His secret was finally out. He could tell someone everything and unburden himself. The matter-of-fact way in which he did broke my heart actually. Archie was understandably shocked and immediately offered to ask Fred to give FP his job back and for Jug to live with him. And this is where I get caught between loving Archie and wanting to hit him on the head with a sharp instrument! Its just the way his character has progressed so far - I can’t really tell what to do with him. He’s bland and uninteresting and trivial. But in this episode he really came through for his friends, so yeah -idk.
Jughead asking Archie not to tell anyone - especially Betty. I think the reason is that he doesn’t want to come across as needy and screwed up, you know, he wants to show his best side to his girl - he wants to seem like he’s together and there for her instead of throwing his problems at her at a time when she’s already bogged down by so many of hers! I just think he wants to keep her away from worrying about him! And that’s so Juggie!
I was kind of meh about Veronica and the whole power struggle between the Lodge women thing. Oh and looks like Hiram is really in prison, so bang goes my theory of him being in hiding someplace and driving this whole thing remotely. Ronnie choosing Reggie as arm candy was great, Reggie IS hot btw. If only he wasn’t such a douche! But points to him for going along on that search for Polly! A gal pal, a gay and arm candy? Really Ronnie? You’re reducing Kevin to that? The whole town (or at least all of Riverdale high) seemed to be on the Cooper’s team. So that left the Blossoms with Keller and who else?
Jughead putting his arms around Betty when she’s worried and she reaching to him for reassurance was so adorable! And everyone’s reactions were revealing - Veronica looked surprised and then smug and Archie was kinda surprised too, but was he jealous? I think as they go deeper into bughead, Archie is gonna become more and more resentful as he finds his two best friends drifting away from him and towards each other and that is gonna manifest in a bad way. How? I don’t know yet. But he’s probably going to do something stupid that gets them both (or perhaps Jug) in trouble. Or perhaps be irrational and angry without knowing why. Why was Ronnie calling Juggie Holden Caulfield? Is it because he’s perceived as mysterious and a loner? But I love that she ships bughead!
Juggie saying “We may have had a moment” in that hesitating, halting manner, not really meeting Archie’s eyes? I think that meant that he really thought Archie would be mad at him or feel betrayed or something. He tried to downplay what he felt for Betty twice - once when FP asked him and this once with Archie. Both times Archie was there. I think he’s trying to spare Archie’s feelings. And right now he’s not sure what Betty feels either. In that scene where he’s walking her home, he struggles to articulate what they are “People like us” he says adoringly stuttering, and I think it means he doesn’t want to pressure her to commit and also because he’s uncertain if she’s reciprocating only because she’s going through such a stressful time herself and thinks maybe that’s why she needs him around? Idk.
Cheryl - idk what to make of her! She’s such a bitch most of the times and then one time she does something nice that makes me rethink her character. But I thought she looked really upset when Alice announced that Polly was pregnant with Jason’s baby! Like it was some kind of betrayal. I’m still on board the “twincest” ship!
Back to bughead and the sweet scene when he’s walking her home. Jughead being her “clarity” is like such a bughead thing and I’m loving it! Betty seems to have all her best ideas around him. And the kiss was just so them! And the little smile he gives after! Oh god, I’m just dying of the adorableness that is bughead! Also how badass were they leading the whole search party and belting out instructions like the power couple they are! And finishing each other’s sentences!
Polly still seems a little bit crazy to me! Maybe its her eyes or just her whole demeanor.
Now the FP and Fred backstory. They seemed like they were really good friends, but then FP makes it as though Fred kicked him out when he was really down. Fred’s story seemed more believable to me. Again, here’s where carrot-top surprised me again. By insinuating that Fred was being a bad friend by letting Jughead drown along with FP. I’m amazed at the amount of character development for Archie in this episode. Its as if they want us invested in him and his story if indeed the Archie/Betty/Jughead love triangle thing is where they’re heading. I know a lot of people are rooting for Barchie and that wouldn’t really pay off if Archie wasn’t a sympathetic character. We’re supposed to feel bad for him that he lost the girl. Jughead already has oodles of audience sympathy.
I liked the scene at Pop’s where they were reminiscing. And FP brings up how Jughead isn’t interested in sports and stuff like him but is more like his mom - into writing and books and literary things, and he says its good. I can get the sense of self-loathing from the man. He needs help.
Also, the scene where Juggie’s taking off his drunk dad’s boots and talking to him about Jellybean and his mom was all kinds of heart-breaking. Its so obvious the boy loves his family and wants them together. Its also obvious he’s proud of his mom and sis! (She listens to Pink Floyd on vinyl and has Juggie for an older bro - of course she cannot get any cooler!). The thing I notice about Jughead is that he downplays everything that’s going on with him - be it good or bad. He just doesn’t think its worth talking about or worth anyone’s time and that’s a whole new level of heart-breaking for me, because it just reinforces where this boy’s coming from - years of being bullied and made to feel unworthy and family breaking apart too! I think this warrants an entirely new post, a Jughead meta that I will get to soon!
I hate how they put Juggie through the wringer - first, by being embarrassed by his dad (Cole was superb), then blaming his friend and his dad for his condition, sticking up for him, believing in him only to have him let him down when he needed him the most. My heart shattered when he asked Betty at the station if his dad was there and Betty says Archie and Fred are. He wanted his dad there, dammit! Stupid, stupid, FP! But even he knows that his son’s better off without him. But he cannot use that as an excuse to not even try! The scene outside the station when Juggie gets ready to leave with his dad was so so heart-breaking. Both Cole and Skeet played it to perfection! I was crying, my poor Juggie. He was so conflicted - angry, disappointed, resigned and then finally determined to still not give up on him. Didn’t I say earlier that his most defining trait was his loyalty? Yeah!
I’m glad he has a safe place to live where he will be warm and well-fed. Also get to peek at Betty from Archie’s window and have conversations with her? Maybe? I’m not holding out hope that it’s going to last given the spoilers for episode 8 where Archie is blaming Jughead for betraying him by not telling him his dad was a Serpent.
I’m also glad Polly found a place to live at Ronnie’s! Hermione was like - any daughter of Alice Cooper is welcome at my place? Does that mean she and Alice share a cordial relationship? I seem to recall them sharing some bitchy moments earlier in the Mayor’s fundraiser. I don’t think anyone likes Alice. Is Hermione an exception?
I expected the clash between Alice and Penelope to be more - uh, bitchy? I’m not sure why Betty agreed to meet up with the Blossoms. I think its more to get financial support for Polly that she knows she won’t get from her parents since they clearly want to give the baby up for adoption. But still- the Blossoms? What are you thinking gurl?
All in all, this episode really focused on Jughead and how screwed up his life is, and it makes my heart bleed for the poor boy! The scene where he implores Betty to believe that he didn’t do it and those fearful, desperate eyes! Like he’s managed to stay afloat but now finally the net is closing in and he’s choking. He doesn’t know if he can get out. I don’t think he was thinking about evidence and how they could or couldn’t pin it on him at all. He looked totally cornered in that scene. There is some resentment there against Fred Andrews, he clearly believes he did his father wrong. Now that he’s living under his roof plus the fact that Fred helped forge an alibi for him, not sure what he’s gonna think? And how long is he gonna keep the faith in that pathetic excuse of a man called FP? I still wonder why his mom didn’t take him along to her parents? Did he refuse to go? Did he choose to stay with his dad?  Fred making up that alibi for Jughead made me want to applaud him and the next minute I was back at throwing shade at him  because Archie says “You’ve done this before”. Fred definitely seems to have something to hide.
Also, FP tells Hermione that Lodge took care of the rest of the money. When? How? I thought Hermione was his only conduit. Does he have other people on his job too? Who?
So Jason’s jacket is with FP. So did he torch the car or kill Jason or both or neither? Why would he retrieve that one piece of evidence? I read an interesting theory someplace that FP might actually be Jason’s father (Cheryl being Juggie’s half-sister?? Now this I cannot take!) and he kept the jacket as something to remember his son by. Also Clifford Blossom maybe the real killer since he discovered that Polly was pregnant and did not want the Blossom millions to end up with the Coopers. I don’t know that I buy this theory, but its certainly interesting. Cheryl is supposedly devastated when she learns who the killer is. So it could be one of the Blossoms. But are they that unfeeling and ruthless that would they torture Jason? I’m not really sure about this.
A/N: god damn isnt he perfect?
Tumblr media
"Come on. I wanna see my Reggie." My best friend Grace was dating Reggie. The school fuckboy. Why?
"No I get enough of him at home." My friend skye whined.
"Plus I'm angry at him. He ruined my nice shirt then pushed me into my locker and locked it. You know who got me out. Kevin! My own brother had to find me and get me out."
"I know. I know but please. I'll pay for lunch."
"You would pay for lunch anyways." Grace was nice and loyal like we all were but she was really nice. Reggie doesn't deserve her.
"You have a point but the guys would be hot and sweaty, shirtless. How do you not want to go?" She had drawn our attention to the agreement that we didnt even notice we were inside the gym.
"What the hell? How did we get here?" I looked around.
"Easy distraction. Now that you are here lets just wait." We walk up to the top and sat down.
"Yo so you know that guy named Fangs right?" Skye asked looking at us.
"Yeah?"
"He is so cute. Like damn I would totally -" she looked at the girls staring at us. They had to be like 13. Who knows why they are here.
"What you looking at!" Skye barked. Oh jesus. She grew up on the wrong side of the tracks.
"Skye calm down." The girls fled and left the gym, "and they are gone." I shook my head laughing.
"As I was saying. Y/N who do you find cute?" I watched the guys ran up and down before one caught my eye. Tall, dark haired with arms that was just god damn. My weaknesses were arms and hair that made you want to run your hands through them.
"Him the other serpent thats playing." My friends smirked at me. I looked confused until I realised what they were gonna do.
"Wow Y/N how cliche. The good girl falls in love with a serpent! Oh whats that? His name is sw-" I had jumped to skye and covered her mouth.
"Swiss. Yeah I like swiss cheese." I glared at skye and then at Grace.
"I hate you both. Seriously and since when was I good?"
"Since now look your man has now got the ball." You sat back down uncovering skyes mouth.
He dribbled the ball and soon when he got to Reggie he shouldered him causing Reggie to fall. He shot the ball and scored. "Woah!" I clapped loudly and soon stopped when I knew I was just embarrassing myself.
"Wow Y/N no surrport." Reggie got up angrily.
"Yup get used to it." I ate my food I had packed in my bag.
We waited till they had their brake to go down and see them. When they did, Grace ran down and jumped into Reggie's arm. I stood far away from both groups. I looked at my feet just moving around.
"Hey? I'm Sweet pea. " I looked up and saw my serpent crush.
"I uh um shit I forgot my name." I admitted. He laughed and I melted.
"It's Y/N!" My friend skye yelled from her chair. Reggie was about to go over but grace held him back.
"So Y/N wanna shoot some hoops until I have to get back on?" I smiled nodding.
Sweet pea led her to the key and shot the basketball. He got it in and passes the ball to her. She shot the ball missed.
"Y/N never misses." Reggie says watching Y/N shoot. Eveyone knew Y/N never misses.
She tries again but misses once again. "Oh dang I can't seem to get it. Could you show me?" Sweet smiled and walked over.
"So you hold the ball like this and then use the othee to support it. Bend the knees and shoot." Y/N tried again but purposely missed. Sweet pea ran and got the ball. He gave her the ball and stood behind her.
They were closer than closer. She was sure he could feel her heart racing. He held her hands in position and bent down with her and helped her push.
"I ship it!" Skye yells causing him to step back.
"I uh will get the ball." She looked at skye and practically mentally yelled at her.
"So you got the hang of it." Y/N nodded knowing the jig was up. She shot and scored over and over again.
"Thats the Y/N I remember," Reggie boasted. "We are practically siblings."
"You wishes bird brians." Y/N turned around sweet pea was right there.
"Do you wanna go to pops. Right now?"
"Sure but change." He ran out the gym with fangs. Skye walked to me all excited.
"Fangs just asked me out on a date." She was practically squealing.
"Grace we are ditching you goodbye. Reggie hurt her I'll shove a big thick stick up your ass and hope you choke on it when it goes through your throat." I warned him and left. We waited at the front if the school. They walk out damn did Sweet pea look good.
"Let's get out of here." We hoped on their bikes and rode to pops.
We found a booth and for some reasom they ordered our food to go.
"Sweet water river is more romantic." Fangs says with skye around his arm.
"He does have a point." We left with our food and we made it to sweet water river. We sat down om the grass and ate. Skye was too busy telling embarrassing stories of me. Those two left to spend some time near the river and it was just me and him. I stared at the stars with my head on his arm.
"Yeah so thats why I like astronomy. I am probably boring you." He sat up still with his arm under my head and looked at me.
"I've had a crush on you since we got to riverdale and I really want to kiss your right now."
"What's stopping you?" He smirks smiling at me. He leaned down and placed his lips on mine. I places on hand on his face and the other in his hair. His other hand was massaging my sides.
"Damn will you be my girlfriend?" He askes.
"Yes!"
Skye and Fangs came running up laughing. "We have to take them home. Its way past their curfew."
"I don't want to though."
"Come on princess. You need to." They drive us home and I didnt want leave him.
"Please don't go. Can't you stay?" Skye nodded from behind me.
"Well we could. School isn't on tomorrow and I have a spare change of clothes." The agreed and put theire bikes at the back. We walk straight through passing Reggies room.
"Hold up." We burst into Reggie's room and there Grace and Reggie were making out.
"Jesus! Can a man get some privacy." We laughed closing the door.
"We both share room." We opened our room and smiled. They took their jackets off and shoes. We all get changed and hop into bed. Sweet pea cuddels me. Damn isnt this perfect.
