Sometimes I see posts about how "I, Strahd" Tatyana has the personality of a cardboard but I don't think I agree honestly.

We only see her in very few scenes (all from Strahd's POV) and she's always very gentle and soft spoken.

Which makes completely sense since she was a lowborn orphan trying to make a good impression on her future brother in law, who is not only the ruler of the valley but also a feared war criminal. Of course she would try to be as nice as possible in front of him.

I also think that Strahd was extremely genuine in thinking he was in love with Tatyana, it's just that he never really knew her the way Sergei did. He only knew a facet.

btw i'm sure this is nothing new on account of it having been well over 6 months by now since totk released and we had the no dlc bomb dropped. but i wasnt posting back then so idc ^_^

anyway the funniest thing about totk is no kass 100%. like. what happened to him. they dont even mention him by NAME and the only time hes ever even really mentioned is penn talking about him like this distant legendary figure and not like some guy who was playing his accordion in the woods. i hope amali divorced him

2025 Living Project, Year of Intentionality

In lieu of what is normally called New Year's Resolutions, in this new year I am embarking on a year long project.

The project is open-ended, and will probably have elements added to it as it goes on, but broadly focuses on intentionality, with the ideas of expanding knowledge, and deepening connections with people being secondary ideas.

This project is highly informed by CGP Grey's video Your Theme, so while I will start out with, and probably maintain well defined goals, they will adapt to whatever my current needs are, and "failing" them does not constitute failing the project. Its an excercise, I'm trying to build things I don't think I already have.

This blog will be devoted to chronicling this project. I hope to make daily updates, but at the very least, I'll make weekly ones.

Current goals:

Intentionality: I've entitled this as the Year of Intentionality for a reason, I currently think that consistent intentionality is the thing I need to work on the most. In the past, when I've tried to work on intentionality, I have broadly focused on not using social media, which is extraordinarily difficult, and quite frankly not fun. Thus, I want to focus the other way, and instead of taking away, my goals will focus on adding in things I love and really want to do, but find hard to make time for (despite the fact that I have plenty of time for them and they usually represent a net positive energy.) I want to read one book every month. Once a week, I want to sit down and watch a movie, all the way through. Once a week, I want to go for an hour walk in some sort of nature. At least once a week, I want to sit down and play a video game for an hour, and give it my full attention. If this seems lenient, that's because the goal is things that are attainable. But also yeah, these are the kinds of things that are sometimes hard for me to do.

Knowledge: This is harder to create goals for, as I, not knowing the things I need to know, do not know what things I need to know. I'm going to have to continuously reevalutate my goals here. The general guiding principle is to eliminate places where I've made judgements without proper evaluation. We're going to start small.

My music horizons are actually disturbingly small, I want to listen to one new song every other day. I want to start studying religions, because growing up Christian did not give me a holistic view. I want to learn a lot more about other countries. Connection: I don't really have anything specific here, but there are some friends who I want to meet up with in person within a month or two.

2025 is in 10 days, this is how to be ahead of the curve.

Everyone waits for the "perfect time", in this case the new year. But, why not start now? Here's is a list of things to do.

Deep clean: your wardrobe, your room, your gallery. Change your bedsheets, get rid of unwanted clutter, delete unimportant pictures and mop your floors.

Write your goals: classic, I know. I used to write way too many unrealistic goals, check them once or twice and then be surprised that I never achieved any of whatever was on there, then I started approaching it differently. I write down goals for each three months, and categorize my goals into health, academic and habits (general). Check them after 3 months, whatever goal I didn't work enough on I make sure I include on my new list.

Make a vision board: works just like magic. It really all is about intentions. Literally most things I put on my vision board, I achieve. Include all your goals and your ambitions and keep adding throughout the year and watch it all happen.

Write down everything: your style, what you eat, what you do, your routines, everything. I used chatgpt to help me with this and I created the most perfect routine starting with workout routine to my everyday makeup.

Start! Once you've written all your goals and created that vision board, work on them. Don't wait for the first day of the year to start, cause really, why not now?

modern cameras, especially higher end ones, give u a neutral color profile on purpose so that you can edit and adjust the colors to your liking. this is good but unless you have those cool built in "emulations" like fuji does, your pics will be kinda boiled chicken and unseasoned broccoli straight outta camera.

I started playing Storm of Zehir, which of course means I looked through all the local characters—ones my dad made or premade ones. (I ended up using all ones I made. My party’s only semi-balanced, but oh well.) And one of the local characters, Riliad Eladalmer, kind of feels like he’s who Camus could have been had things have been a little bit different.

Elves are not entirely uncommon on the Sword Coast, but Riliad Eladalmer is one of only two in the village of West Harbor. Orphaned and raised by the village’s only other elf, Riliad lives in contempt of human society. Daeghun spoke at great length to Riliad about elven culture and society, and the tales went to the young half-elf’s head. He sees most of the humans around him as clumsy, blind, stupid oafs. Riliad has even taking to using his elven surname, always taking the opportunity to roll his eyes and snort at anyone who mispronounces it. When he isn’t engaged in an anti-human rant, Riliad spends most of his time in magical study with his thoughts focused on getting out of West Harbor.

He’s a chaotic evil half-elven sorcerer who goes down the path of the pale master. Camus’s chaotic good/neutral (he shifted to neutral by the time I was halfway through NWN1, but he quickly got to 100 pts and hardly strayed in NWN2 due to the differences in how the games do alignment shifts, so he’s likely somewhere in between) and becomes a red dragon disciple.

I guess it’s a good thing Daeghun was still rather distant and Camus spent a lot of time with the Starlings. Retta was more of a proper parent to him than Daeghun was. Although I’m not sure Camus would’ve gone the elven superiority route unless Daeghun guided him toward it… although, actually? His hatred and distrust of the Starlings and not liking that the KC has anything to do with Bevil? Yeah, that might help with that.

I kind of want them to meet, although I have no idea if I should change Riliad’s backstory so that he has a different hometown but was still raised similarly, or if I should make them from alternate realities and Riliad somehow found his way into the one where Camus is the KC.
