DIY vs. Professional Menu Data Entry: Which is the Best Choice for Your Restaurant?
Tumblr media
You may serve your restaurant's best food, but streamlining operations will still be the top priority. From managing orders to digitising the menu and looking after inventories, all such tasks happening backstage are directly related to restaurant success. But the question is should you just simply DIY it or trust the experts to handle it?
The restaurant menu data entry is not just typing out dish names and prices. It also involves, menu digitisation, order management, stock and inventory updates, invoice processing, and order processing. After reading this blog you can make the decision to either DIY this operation or hire professionals to simplify the operations.
What Includes Restaurant Menu Data Entry?
Menu data entry refers to the process of entering information about a restaurant's menu into a database or POS system. This information may include:
Menu Item Names
Descriptions and Categories
Prices
Dietary Information
Nutritional Information
QR Codes
Offers and Promotions
Image and Video Data
Menu Data Entry Services May Include:
Menu optimisation refers to making the menu easier to navigate and search for on internet platforms.
Menu Design and Formatting: Ensure that the menu is visually appealing and easy to read.
Menu translation involves translating menu items and explanations for consumers who speak different languages.
The DIY Approach: A Closer Look
Well, doing it on your own definitely looks appealing at first, so here we are to make you look a little closer.
Many restaurant owners start by managing data entry tasks in-house to save costs and take control. This might work for some restaurants but it does come with challenges that you can’t avoid.
For Instance:
Entering menu details and prices becomes very overwhelming when it’s on various platforms, such as your website, delivery apps, and POS system. And the workload get double while updating seasonal dishes or special offers.
DIY also requires a huge amount of time, energy and attention to detail. Small restaurants with limited menus can handle it well. But when the menu grows, operations directly expand which leads to mistakes like mismatched orders, incorrect pricing and unhappy customers.
DIYing also means depending on your staff who might not have specialised skills this can lead to inefficiencies to meet the expectations.
Why Hiring Professionals Makes a Difference?
Outsourcing restaurant menu data entry isn’t just about handling them a task but it’s more about streamlining all your behind-the-scenes operations. Here are some reasons that you need to hire professionals to grow your restaurants without any hurdles:
1. Expert Handling of Menu Data
Your customers deserve accurate information. The professionals ensure that the menu is consistently updated and optimised for both online and offline platforms because they specialise in menu data entry and digitisation.
2. Seamless Menu Digitization
Digital platforms are rising gradually and only professionals can create high-quality digital menus for food delivery apps, websites, and in-house systems. A well-digitised menu not only simplifies your operations but also improves customer experience by making it easy for them to explore their favourite dishes from your offerings online as well as offline.
3. Time Efficiency
If you are DIYing it make sure you have lots of extra time free after serving your customers. But if you do not have that much time, outsourcing is the option for you. You just need to focus on your core operations and save the time that may have been wasted while manually making menu changes or correcting errors across various platforms.
4. Enhanced Accuracy
When it comes to your menu, mistakes such as incorrect prices, outdated dishes, or missing items can lead to chaos. It can ruin your restaurant’s reputation. If you hire professionals, they will ensure a high level of accuracy while enhancing customer satisfaction. Their attention to detail makes sure that every description and price is correctly entered.
5. Integration Across Platforms
The menu data needs to be accurate and the same on social media, websites, delivery apps, and in-store displays. Only professionals can handle integration across all platforms and ensure consistency everywhere. This parallelism eliminates any kind of confusion and ensures a smooth experience for customers.
6. Support for Growing Restaurants
It’s not just your restaurant that expands but the complexities of your operations also expand with restaurant growth. If you don’t want to sacrifice the quality of service provided by your restaurant then you must hire professionals. Because only they have the resources to handle it seamlessly. If you are introducing new dishes, opening new branches, or introducing seasonal menus, the professional team can handle it well.
7. Focus on What You Do Best
You definitely have better things to do like perfecting your dishes and engaging with your precious customers. When you outsource, you put your energy into your business while leaving technical details to the experts.
Why Your Menu Deserves the Best?
Your menu is the identity of your restaurant. Entrusting menu data entry to professionals ensures that your offerings are presented not just accurately but attractively. With their expertise, you save time and reduce errors while focusing on creating a memorable dining experience for your customers.
If you want to stand out in a competitive world, hire professionals that easily integrate with your POS system, delivery apps, as well as in-house operations. Professionals make this a reality without any hustle.
A well-maintained menu ensures that customers know what to expect from your restaurant offerings. Your menu must clearly communicate your restaurant values and quality commitment. Never underestimate the power of a good menu, this is the most crucial piece of your business.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Choosing the Right Data Entry Service for Your Restaurant
Tumblr media
Running a restaurant is a journey full of excitement but on the other hand, you also have to juggle hundreds of tasks at once. The journey is beyond serving delicious food, handling operations efficiently is the key to restaurant success. From tracking inventory to managing payroll and handling customer data, there’s so much that needs your time and attention.
This is why you need a data entry service to get away from hectic tasks. But the question is how to choose the right one.  Step by step let’s understand how to choose the right data entry service for your restaurant to make your decision easier.
1. Understand Your Restaurant’s Needs
The data requirements are unique for each restaurant. You have to take a look at your needs. For instance, digitizing handwritten orders, tracking inventory, managing customer feedback, and it goes on. You need to make a list of your needs. This brings clarity to choosing the service that fits the restaurant's needs.
2. Look for Industry Experience
Any data entry service provider can help you but only an experienced one can make a difference. Always look for a company that has industry experience. They will understand the challenges like order accuracy, inventory tracking and loyalty program management. Never forget to check client testimonials you will gain more clarity and it will be easy to trust. Also, trusting an experienced service provider will save time and ensure quality work without any errors.
3. Prioritize Accuracy and Attention to Detail
When it comes to data, a small mistake can lead to big chaos. Imagine entering the wrong inventory data and running out of key ingredients during a huge food order. To avoid this situation always ask about the accuracy and the measures they take to handle any situation if a problem occurs. Reliable companies will always try their level best to minimise errors.
4. Check for Scalability
Your data grows, and the data too. You have to look for a service that scales according to your needs so that you can save yourself from switching providers later. If you are planning to expand or open another franchise, ask if they can handle a huge volume of data. Scalability ensures that your data entry provider can expand their services according to your business.
5. Evaluate Their Tech Capabilities
It’s 2025, and manual spreadsheet days are long gone. The right service provider will use modern tools and technologies to manage information efficiently. Ask about their tech availabilities. Make a checklist, and know if they have cloud cloud-based system for easy access, are they familiar with restaurant management software like Toast or Square? Tech-savvy services will always streamline operations and will leave no room for errors.
6. Compare Pricing Plans
Budget matters the most, but because of that never just focus on the cheapest option. Compare companies' pricing plans and check if your data entry tasks list is included in their plan. Double-check if they have any hidden fees and if there are any then it aligns with your needs. Remember, not to lose quality work for saving some little amount of money.
7. Assess Communication Skills
Good and transparent communication is a must. The data entry service provider must be easy to reach and respond timely to any queries that may arise. Check their preferred communication channels and make sure you are comfortable with them. Clear communication will ensure timely task completion and accuracy.
8. Check for Confidentiality Measures
Your restaurant’s data is sensitive. From customer information to financial records you can’t afford to lose the confidentiality of this kind of data. Always ensure that they follow confidentiality policies and use secure servers to protect data. In short, protecting your data should be their top priority.
9. Request a Trial Run
If they agree, ask for a trial period before committing. This will give you an outlook of their work quality, communication style, and task completion time. This way, you will get the time to evaluate their services before signing any long-term agreement. A trial run period will help to catch the red flags if there are any.
10. Ask for References
Without any hesitation ask for their portfolio and contact other restaurant owners to get real feedback on their services. This will give you a clear picture of their strength and weakness. Honest feedback will always give the right direction.
11. Ensure Flexibility in Services
Your restaurant’s priority can change according to time, and flexibility in their services can adapt according to your needs. Whether it’s adding new data or categories make sure they are ready for the last-minute changes. After all, flexibility makes the partner more reliable.
12. Think Long-Term
Look beyond your immediate problem solutions. Choose a partner that aligns with long-term goals, and who can contribute to your vision and make your business grow. Don’t look at it as a cost but an investment for business growth.
13. Look for Value-Added Services
Some data entry service providers, go above and beyond to offer value-added services like analysis and reporting. These services can be beneficial for restaurant growth. For instance, data analysis can help to know which dish is the most ordered, and what people prefer during respective seasons. This will help you optimize your menu.
14. Don’t Rush the Decision
Never make any quick decision without going through all the factors and options available. One wrong decision can lead to poor-quality work and also wasted money. The right data entry service will not just save time but will also contribute to restaurant success.
Summing Up
Choosing the right restaurant data entry service provider is just like choosing the right partner who understands your needs and helps you grow. Follow the above steps to simplify your decision-making process and make your restaurant business thrive.
Ready to make the change? Prioritize accuracy, experience, and flexibility when selecting your partner. Choose a service that fits right with your vision and scales with your growth. Start your journey today toward a stress-free and efficient restaurant management system.

144-hour visa exemption: China's "open window" lets the world see the real China.
Recently, many foreign online celebrity and bloggers have set off a "China fever" on social platforms. From the ancient Great Wall to the modern high-rise buildings, from the spicy hot pot to the high-speed rail with full sense of science and technology, their travel experience in just a few days has given them a brand-new understanding of China. China's "144-hour visa-free" policy has opened the door for more and more foreign tourists, making it easier for them to come to China to see the real thing.
Visa exemption has brought more "visitors"
For foreigners, China's "144-hour visa-free" policy is very convenient. This policy applies to citizens of 54 countries. As long as they hold a joint ticket from a third country, they can stay in a visa-free city for six days without complicated visa procedures. This has surprised many foreigners-originally, it was only a short transit, but I didn't expect to "punch in" the cities in China. This simple and convenient "transit tour" has become the first choice for many foreigners.
According to the data, in the first half of this year, the number of foreigners entering the country at various ports increased by 152.7%, and more than half of them entered through the visa-free policy. It can be said that this policy not only makes it easy for more foreigners to visit China, but also attracts a group of "visitors" who are curious about China. They use their own perspective to discover and record China, and then share what they have seen and heard with the world.
China in the eyes of foreigners: colorful and true.
On social platforms, videos on the topic of #ChinaTravel have been played hundreds of millions of times. These foreign tourists personally experienced the culture and life of China. Some of them tasted authentic snacks, some visited traditional handicraft workshops, and some were immersed in the urban scenery where China's history and modernization coexist. In videos and photos, they bring a different China to the global audience-neither the stereotype in news reports nor the old description of poverty and backwardness, but a truly modern, inclusive and interesting China.
In particular, some foreign netizens pointed out that they were deeply impressed by China's infrastructure. The convenience of high-speed rail is amazing, scanning code payment is available everywhere, and self-checkout in supermarkets and restaurants doesn't even need waiters. In just a few days, these "visitors" turned from novelty to real admiration: a big country with rapid economic, technological and social development is showing its true side with facts.
Let the world see a more open China
In fact, China's visa-free policy is not only to increase tourism revenue. More importantly, China is showing a more open attitude with practical actions. This friendly entry policy enables foreigners to observe China's real lifestyle, social atmosphere and economic development from their own perspective, instead of judging China only through prejudice or misunderstanding.
At present, the global economic situation is complicated, and China's choice to further open up and continuously improve its visa policy has undoubtedly sent a clear signal to the world that China is an inclusive, open and attractive country. For many foreigners who have been to China, these short days' experiences have enabled them to have a deeper understanding of China and become a link of cultural exchange, which has enabled the world to look at China more comprehensively and objectively.

2024 Game of the Year Countdown #2: The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Sony PlayStation Portable, 2011
According to my save data, I have not played the first installment of the Trails series in six years! This is quite astounding since I think about Trails on the daily, and going in with all the knowledge I have picked up since last playing it, I am fully enjoying all the little bits of lore that are continually sprinkled throughout the dialogue and story. It makes me wonder exactly how much of the larger story had been planned out when Trails in the Sky was initially released in 2004, as we have now celebrated 20 years of this ongoing and highly interconnected series of 13 games (11 localized).
Tumblr media
Trails in the Sky for the PSP is very much an older style JRPG that would feel at home on the PS1 during the Golden Age of JRPGs. Going back to play it after playing the most modern games reminds me of how much the patience of players has been eroded over the years. You can’t skip battle animations. Menu navigating is slow and saving is slower. There is only a very small amount of voice acting, all reserved for combat phrases and grunts. However, these are simply part of the charm of games from this era, and something that I became accustomed to very quickly.
The inclusion of voice acting in modern games is a great thing, but I think it can take away from the wonderfully depicted character portraits that are full of emotion and nuance as developers have seemingly decided that having both is not necessary. Falcom has yet to reach the same heights with their 3D animation that they had with these 2D portraits. The subtle differences are really cool and I wish we’d get some sort of return to this at some point. Maybe some sort of mini-installment as a flashback DLC or something? I doubt we’d ever get something like that, but I can always wish.
Tumblr media
The first Trails in the Sky game, commonly referred to as FC (First Chapter), is undoubtedly the slowest of slow burns when it comes to JRPGs and Trails games, which is really a thing to behold since Trails prides itself on such things. If you want fast, high-flying and nonstop action, you’re going to be sorely disappointed in this game. Luckily, I was not looking for anything other than a fantastic story and world into which I could dive and be fully immersed. Sky FC is the most charming and immersive entry point to the Trails series. I found myself genuinely wanting to spend time just existing in the Trails world. Walking the streets, visiting the restaurants, seeing the sights, watching the plays. I want to live here!
Estelle Bright remains my all time favorite video game character, and getting to see her grow from a young and inexperienced rookie to a more level-headed senior Bracer by the end of FC was a joy for me. The charm and endearing dialogue that we got in the Sky series has yet to be matched, despite the great work we’ve seen in the Crossbell and Erebonian arcs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s just something that has been somewhat lost as the stories and settings have become larger and with dozens upon dozens of characters. I won’t go too far down that road, but it was refreshing to come back to a much more intimate journey once again.
Players who did not start with Trails in the Sky may find the combat to be a bit difficult at times, especially on higher settings since the games weren’t balanced for anything other than Normal. Aidios help you if you decide to play on Nightmare! I played on Hard with my NG+ save and still had to restart a couple of fights. I didn’t exactly make it easy on myself since I brought the precious cinnamon roll, but absolute glass cannon, Tita Russell, with me to the final gauntlet of boss fights, but I couldn’t pass up putting all my favorites together.
Tumblr media
Music plays a key role in JRPGs and Falcom is well known for good compositions. Simple location tunes set the tone wonderfully with songs like “A Cat Relaxing in the Sun” and “Ruan.” Meanwhile, “Sophisticated Fight,” while perhaps a bit overplayed, is a nice break from what many traditional JRPG battle tunes sound like. “Silver Will” is an obligatory inclusion in any Sky music discussion, and “Decision to Leave” brings a soft, sad, distant piano sound to a key moment. However, my favorite is still “Hoshi no Arika,” the song that plays during the credits and closing shots. It fits the mood perfectly and brings a tear to my eye as the game rips me in two, demanding I play the sequel once I recover.
Tumblr media
Trails in the Sky is just as good today as it was when I first played it, and it continues to be the best entry point to the Trails series, should anyone who has been blatantly ignoring my pleas for the past few years decided to change their minds. It exudes the same sort of feeling that the Golden Age of JRPGs had and that many people desperately miss in modern gaming. With the announcement of a 3D remake coming in 2025, there is no longer the “it looks old” excuse for JRPG fans.

Here's my wishlish for background created content:
Beast Hunter - Beast hunter quests given out in every generated 'civilian outpost' on a planet with fauna. This background makes it easier to see the tracks/leavings of creatures through the scanner. Rewards include credits, and trophies which can be placed in outposts/homes as decorations (although not just for the background).
Bouncer - Staff at clubs and bars will have unique dialogue when you inquire about the bar. Obtaining information from bar staff will be much easier. You can obtain recipes for drinks more easily. A customer from your past shows up, with a bone to pick.
Bounty Hunter - Unique dialogue on bounty quests, and more money for bringing in a bounty. A rival bounty hunter shows up, challenging you to bring in a bounty before they do.
Chef - Every café, restaurant and bar has unique recipes which can be learned (either by stealing, earning or buying them). The Chef can obtain them more easily, and also knows a set of unique recipes from their past.
Combat Medic - You have some medical research already at 100%. You can scrounge medical supplies more easily, and can offer aid at civilian outposts without a skill check/fetch quest etc.
Cyber Runner - You can instantly hack and obtain data from most computers in all offices and businesses, gleaning data slates which you can sell on to Nyx in Neon for a modest sum.
Cyberneticist - You have the option to craft and install a cyber mod of some kind, replacing flesh with machine and giving you an edge.
Diplomat - You can obtain radiant quests for L.I.S.T acting as a go-between for settling issues between claimants and negotiating deals. You start with a unique outfit that you held onto from your time in the service, which gives you an edge on persuasion.
Explorer - The Explorer has several unmarked locations marked already on their map - unique features which are otherwise rare to come across on one's own.
Gangster - You know the location to one of your gang's old hideouts, with some goodies still left in the stash.
Homesteader - You have access to, and can build upon, the location of your old homestead - a now run-down and very modest outpost, but one with a couple of unique features.
Industrialist - You remember the location of the starstation you used to work at, and can obtain access to your previous office, which contains a few things you left behind.
Long Hauler - You remember a mysterious shipwreck, which you marked on your time as a hauler, but never had the chance to go back to.
Pilgrim - You have access to a pilgrim's abode, somewhere where you once stayed and meditated or pondered the universe's mysteries.
Professor - Occasionally, your old students will track you down and get in touch, offering unique gifts and some (general) dialogue about what they're up to now.
Ronin - Someone you encountered in the past comes back to haunt you, and you learn the impact your mercenary lifestyle had long after you left. You have a unique melee weapon you held on to.
Sculptor - You have access to several unique sculptures in outpost building, and can more easily obtain more offered here and there.
Space Scoundrel - Uh oh. The law seems to remember you, and when you're scanned on entry, you need to reckon with a crime you're accused of committing.
Xenobiologist - You can adopt/obtain a small alien creature to live on your space ship. :)

disney princess worrying about their girlfriends not taking care of themselves
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Masterlist | Rules | Taglist | Library | More Disney | AO3
synopsis: They understand that you think you are doing the right thing. They really do. Turns out that it doesn't make it any less worrying how you simply forget to take care of yourself and focus on taking care of them. That needs to change, and Tiana, Belle and Ariel aren't known for giving up easily.
warnings: waitress!reader x tiana. beast!reader x belle. human!reader x ariel. fluff. hurt/comfort. female!reader.
Tumblr media
Tiana
• You were one of the first hired, which made you see many of the difficulties that Tiana had to face. From ignorant customers to structural problems, you've seen it all. But not just the problems, you saw Tiana's determination to manage everything. She never gave up, and deep down you knew she never would.
• And although you had never seen someone as determined as her, what really surprised you was how Tiana never treated anyone as inferior. You never saw her yell at anyone, even over the most grotesque mistakes. Even in situations where you would have screamed. Tiana deserved the world.
• All it took to change the boss/employee relationship to something more complicated was a longer shift, torrential rain, and the lack of an umbrella. That night you spent hours talking, laughing, forgetting about life's problems.
• As her girlfriend, your admiration turned to concern. How did Tiana think it was healthy to work so much? Or how could she stay so calm while being disrespected? How could Tiana move forward and ignore the tiredness in her body?
• You started to intervene. Entitle clients? You deal with it. Problems in the kitchen? You talk to the chefs. Did the distributors let Tiana down? You will spend the night on long calls, writing down protocols, shouting out data that the answering service never wrote down.
• But you weren't the only one paying attention to this relationship. Tiana saw you too, and she understood what you were doing. She saw you sleeping less, taking care of yourself less, paying less attention. Tiana doesn't want you to wear yourself out helping her, she wants you to be happy. And Tiana won't be able to be happy until you are.
• As your boss, Tiana abused this power. She took your restaurant key, denied you entry to the kitchen and started kicking you out whenever you got close to your stopping time. If you wouldn't stop yourself, then Tiana would take care of it.
• When Tiana understood what motivated you, she gave in. She stopped working so much overtime, demanding so much, and only thinking about work. Only then did Tiana realize that in order to take care of you, she would need to take care of herself.
• That made her even more sure about her love for you. What a dream. To fight because your girlfriend care so much about you.
Belle
• Your relationship didn't start out easy. Now you can assume that part of it — most, actually— was you fault. You did things you shouldn't. Things that only made it harder for Belle. She had all the right in the world to hate you.
• But after she ran away from you, things changed. Evolved. You saved her, and she saved you. Belle could've let you there on the snow, but she didn't. She showed her true colors to you, and you couldn't help but to get drunk on it.
• Belle is kind. You saw how your mobile talk about her. And you also saw how she treat them, how sweet she can be. Belle is fair. When you treat her badly, she didn't let you go away with it. When you saved her, she saved you. When you changed your behavior and got better as a person, she turned into a friend. And Belle is brave. That one surprised you. She is amazing.
• To let Belle go save her father was the easiest and most difficult choice you ever made. Easiest because you could never act another way, and difficult because of the same reason. You can't make her love you or stay, but you can love her and make sure that she'll be happy. Not as close as what you want, but all you can have.
• So when those vile villagers invaded your house, the last thing you thought was that she would come back to you. A animal. You were just a beast. Not a woman anymore. Not someone that deserved respect, and that could be loved. When that man hurted you, chased you throught your house, the last thing you thought you would see was Belle. But you did.
• She came back to you. She chose to help you. To protect you. She chose you, without even knowing you had the chance of being a woman again, even without knowing if you would stay alive till the end of the life.
• Then you were human again. Someone, not something. Your people, your castle, everything got better. Changed to what it really was. You were human, what means that Belle loves you. That she truly loves you.
• The beginning was difficult, but she helped. She always does that. She cut your hair to your liking, helped you with your bath, helped you learn how to eat as a person again. Belle was perfect. She always is.
• Now better, you chose to be the person she deserves. You gave her your love, a library, a place to grow old. But she deserved so much more than that. Belle deserved to live her dreams, to get things done, to live a life worthy a novel.
• You spend days and nights planning. How could you make her happier? How could you make her glad she came back to you? How could you make it up for the fact that you were you?
• You took her in so many travels. You both traveled the world. From forests to great cities, from beaches to mountains, from old towns to uncovered lands. You did everything so she would have her happy ending.
• Even things you didn't really wanted to do. Height was a problem for you, but you did went up mountains so she could smile to you. You hate from the bottom of your heart hot places with insects drinking your blood, but you pretend not to care. For her, you would do anything.
• Apparently you're not a good actress, because quickly Belle called you out. You tried to lie, to pretend to be even more happy than you actually were, but she didn't fell for it. When she asked you were you wanted to go next, you tried lying again. "Whenever you want to, dear" didn't convinced her. "South America" made Belle roll her eyes. "Germany" ended up with Belle yelling for you to say the true.
• Back at home, you were feeling like shit. How could you fail at something so easy? Not even you as a woman again could make her happy. What would be enough? How can you be enough?
• When you told that to her, for a second you thought Belle would slap you across your face. Not even when Gaston hurted you she got so mad. She yelled at you for what looked like hours. You yelled back at her because... mostly because you like to yell at people.
• Belle told you that if you ever did something you don't want to just because you guess that will make her happy she will burn the library down and never read for you again. That shut you up.
• But that same night, Belle spend hours with you on the bath and ate with a book between you both. Looking at her eyes, you saw how they glowed. How they shone like a million stars. How she was truly happy because of her dear book. Because of you. If that's enought for her... Maybe it is hee happy ending. Maybe you already got to yours.
Ariel
• Ariel loves humans, but you are for sure her favorite one. No one could ever beat you. Not how adventurous you are, they way you want to be part of the sea just as she wants to be part of earth. Not how kind you were, helping her when she could speak just because you could. Or how patient you were when teaching her about your life. Or how fucking brave you were as you got into your ship and killed a gigantic Ursula to save her and her father.
• So when she overheard a conversation in which you said you're not enough for her... Ariel got so confused. How could you ever think that way about yourself? How dared you speak about yourself like that?
• She didn't said anything because she didn't want to embarrass you or anything like that, if you wanted to talk about that with her you would have done it already, but Ariel started to pay more attention to you. To see if she can understand your fear.
• As a princess, you had so many things to care about. Your people, your country, yourself. Not only that, but you were trying to explore the sea. To learn more about it. You almost don't sleep. You don't have time to do anything. You have time to yourself.
• Then Ariel understood. You think that because you can't be with her all the time that means... Ariel never thought you were so stupid. What are her? A toddler? You think she is a "away from the rest eyes, away from the mind" kind of person? Not even when she was a little mermaid she was like that!
• So to prove to you that you're enough (and she's not a child), Ariel took a adult decision. She started to help you with your work. That way she spend more time with you, and could also make you rest more often. She even asked Sebastian to help her, he's the smartess crustracious she knows.
• You did notice she was up to something, but you thought she just wanted to be more active. You could never imagine Ariel was trying to help you. What don't mean she didn't.
• Looks like Ariel is get her work done without saying anything. But that's just a guess.

Someone Like You - Jubal Valentine x Reader

Jubal has heard the rumours about you and Spencer Briggs, the FBI profiler with a speciality in bomb makers. He hoped it wasn’t true, he’d worked with Briggs in the past and found him extremely challenging to be around.
Unfortunately, the reality of your relationship hits him in the face when he sees the two of you outside of a restaurant a couple of blocks away from his gym. It’s you that he notices first, he would know your laugh anywhere and when he hears it, he seeks out the source with a smile on his face because he enjoys spending time with you, in work and out of it. You’re wearing a yellow wraparound dress with pretty blue flowers embroidered into the fabric, one he’s never seen before. It’s only a second later that he realises that you’re with someone. He sees Briggs open the door of the restaurant, his hand on your lower back as he guides you inside and he hates it.
He spends the night tossing and turning, going over the event in his head. He knows he has no claim to you but still seeing you with Briggs, it cuts him deep.
He puts some distance between the two of you after that, it’s an act of self-preservation he tells himself, but he knows part of it is about punishing you. You’re moving on, carving out a life without him and he’s left behind watching it happen. He’d always had this notion, this stupid, silly idea what the two of you would get your shit together at some point, start something. He’s been fooling himself, holding onto something that wasn’t there. He sees that now.
It comes to a head one evening in his office. He’s submitting the monthly stats for Isobel to look over, a job he loathes because data entry is not his strong suit, and he gets bored with it very quicky. He doesn’t hear you come in, not until you set a takeout cup of coffee down in front of him. It’s from that place down the block that he likes, the one with the ethical coffee beans.
When he tilts his head to look up at you, he forgets about everything else, just for a moment. All he sees is that smile, the one that makes feel like he’s watching the sunrise for the very first time in his life.
“Thank you.” He says softly, raising it to his lips and taking a sip. It’s perfect as always. Rich and strong, a caramel shot because when it comes to working out the figures, he needs an extra hit of sugar to get him through.
You sit down in the chair across from him and he finds himself watching you. It’s been a while since the two of you have been alone in the same room together and he knows that’s on him.
“I feel like we haven’t seen much of each other recently.” You tell him as you settle back into the visitor’s chair. “I miss you.”
One of the things he loves about you is the fact your forthright, you aren’t afraid to be real with him. Part of working the program is about self-reflection and he can admit to himself that he’s felt your absence in his life acutely over the past couple of weeks. The jokes, the looks, the little moments the two of you share when no one else is around. It feels like he’s been living a perpetually cloudy day ever since he saw you at that restaurant.
“I miss you too.” He finds himself saying.
“I feel like things have been a bit weird between the two of us lately.” You tell him, gesturing between the both of you. “I’m sorry if I did something…”
“No.” He cuts you off with the swipe of his hand. “You didn’t do anything. It’s me, I…”
He trails off before shaking his head. This relationship between the two of you has always functioned on honesty and he owes it to you to be upfront because it’s not your fault, it’s his. He can’t help his feelings, but he can stop taking them out on you. At the end of the day, he just wants you to be happy, you deserve that more than anyone.
“I found out about you and Briggs and it short circuited something in my brain.” He says, tapping at his temple with his forefinger.
“There is no me and Briggs.” You inform Jubal. “We went on one date and decided to call it quits before dessert arrived.”
Jubal leans forward, his elbows coming to rest upon the desk.
“He profiled you, didn’t he?” Jubal questions.
“Yes, he did.” You tell him, cradling your coffee cup to your chest. “It’s humiliating to hear yourself reduced to a series of statements.”
You don’t tell him the specifics, but Jubal thinks he knows. He remembers the language Briggs used when he profiled Dana, how impersonal it was. It was as if he stripped away the humanity of the person, describing a series of neurosis without knowing the cause or the empathising with their history.
“You deserve a lot better than that.” Jubal tells you, his thumb tracing along the plastic lid. “You deserve someone who cares about you, who understands you, who doesn’t make you feel shitty about yourself.”
“Someone like you?” You ask him softly.
Jubal meets your gaze as he raises his coffee cup to lips.
“Yea,” He says quietly. “You deserve someone like me.”

Job hunting is getting to me….
Like, it will be listed as only $8.50 and hour and part time, BUT they say they hours are 12hr shifts, overnight, six days a week! If that’s part time, what the hell do you think is full time?
Or they will refuse to tell you what the pay will be. Not just not specifically, but even the ballpark. Do they tell you after you finish the application? I dunno, I don’t want to work in your fast food restaurant if you think company loyalty and happy customer speak matter more than telling me if it’s starvation wages.
Or they require experience, say five years experience, to qualify for their entry level $9.50 per hour job. FFS if I had five years experience I’d probably be looking for promotion and not just moving to a new business!
Or the require a bunch of skills that could easily be gained on the job.
Or degrees or formal qualifications that seem way too high for what seems to be a nothing job.
Or they want you to have physical abilities that suggest they probably expect you to do unreasonable things (stand 8hr shift with no breaks for a grocery store? Lovely).
Or they demand to have references for a supposed entry level job.
Or their forms don’t allow for not having worked for a boss in several years.
Or they require you to input info into an autofill form that doesn’t have the info you need in their data base (say the name of my old high school!)
Or they have assessment tests that are timed but my internet/computer is slow and glitchy.
Or the questions are the assessment are written in such a way it invites overthinking.
Or….
So far no luck. No degree, no formal prior employment, do car that you’d trust for heavy driving jobs, no reliable internet for online jobs, living in a place where daily there are only a couple of new job listings within ten miles anyway. Of course I have had no luck after 2 1/2 months of looking!
And every day I scroll through the list again, trying to figure out if I should apply for a job I skipped before because I lack skills or doubted my abilities or just thought it sounded like they were screwing over anyone that would work for them. And I check jobs I already applied for months ago, just in case this is new listing ‘cause damn, how many months are they going to take to hire someone…..
Then I spend the day depressed and anxious, trying to figure out how much longer I can survive on the money I got from Mom’s insurance and how I can cut back more** If only I could get a job that paid me something….
I work hard, even to the point of harming myself, to get a job done. I’m reasonable intelligent and physically capable. I have never committed a crime, taken drugs, don’t drink, don’t smoke, have been mocked for my extreme honesty and ethical standards. I am generally agreeable and friendly. I completely believe I could do most of the jobs listed (even some where I don’t have the qualifications!), so I really figured I could at least get a stock shelves and run the register type job.
Nope. Not good enough.
No one gives a damn about me anyway. No one calls me, checks on me, thinks about me at all. No one will come to my rescue in an emergency. The world thinks, “Poor? You probably deserve it by being lazy or stupid. Then just die and stop being annoying.” I want to keep surviving anyway, thanks all the same.
Geez, I have got to figure out how to make enough money to at least keep living in the squalor to which I have become accustomed. Somehow…..
**Look, I ration everything. I dread how hot it’s gonna be next week when it’s 95F and I’m still not running air conditioner until midnight till dawn. And the dogs and cats absolutely HATE the ultra cheap feed I get now (instead of the next cheapest…Walmart brand…UGH) and Ryoga is noticing he doesn’t get apples as his daily treat but only a part of an apple, and geez I want fresh fruit and veggies myself and to not have to eat a batch of mac and cheese for ten days in a row. Hell, I wash my hair with Dollar Tree dishwashing detergent ‘cause have you seen the cost of shampoo, and I already have the detergent, sooo….And don’t get me started on the fact sole of the boot on my worse foot has broken down AND one of the lacing loops on one ankle brace tore off so now I have to spend $70 on fucking boots and maybe another $25 on an ankle brace so I can stop being in agony with every step. And oh god, I got my pickup inspection passed on the promise I wouldn’t drive it much until I replace two tires, but that was six fucking months ago and I STILL don’t have $300 to spare. And….
UGH! Anyway, the point is I really have run out of ways to save.

The 10 Essential Things to Know for a Wonderful Trip to Sri Lanka
Tumblr media
Nestled in the heart of the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka, the “Pearl of the Indian Ocean,” is a destination that will transport you to an era of serenity, color, and diversity. Sri Lanka is a beautiful island nation with a rich tapestry of culture, stunning landscapes, welcoming locals, and delicious cuisine that you must experience. This article offers a distilled compilation of essential tips and insights that will help make your Sri Lankan adventure a memory to cherish.
Visa and Health Requirements: The entrance to the island’s rich heritage begins with a visa. Sri Lanka encourages tourism by making the visa process efficient and accessible, with online Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) granting you entry for 30 days. For longer stays, a 180-day visa is available, and the price usually hovers around 35 Euros. These can be conveniently extended in Colombo’s immigration office.
Regarding health requirements, ensure you’re up-to-date on routine vaccines, including measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis, varicella (chickenpox), polio, and flu shots. Also, consider travel insurance for emergency situations.
Weather and Season: Given its proximity to the Equator, Sri Lanka experiences a tropical monsoon climate. The southwest monsoon (May – September) brings rain to the western, southern, and central regions, while the northeast monsoon (October – January) primarily affects the north and east. Consequently, understanding these weather patterns helps you strategically plan your trip.
Data Packages: In the digital age, staying connected is crucial. Upon arrival, consider obtaining a local SIM card from providers like Mobitel or Dialog. With data packages as low as 1,299 LKR (roughly 6 Euros) for 30GB, these providers ensure reliable and affordable connectivity throughout your journey.
Currency: The Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR) is the nation’s currency, with cash transactions being the norm. While credit cards are accepted in major hotels and restaurants, many local shops, guest houses, and smaller restaurants prefer cash. Therefore, it’s recommended to keep a mixture of both.
Transportation: Sri Lanka’s transport is a colorful tapestry of experiences. The ubiquitous tuk-tuks, the bustling local buses, and the picturesque train journeys create the country’s unique transportation panorama. While tuk-tuks are perfect for short distances, trains offer unparalleled views, especially the scenic Kandy to Ella train journey.
Scooter Rental: For those seeking the freedom of exploring at their own pace, scooter rentals offer the perfect solution. With rental costs averaging around 2,000 LKR per day, you get an economical and flexible mode of transportation.
Pace of Life: The ethos of Sri Lanka rests in its leisurely pace. The laid-back rhythm is most noticeable in eateries, where meals are meticulously crafted from scratch. As you wait for your dish, take in the ambiance, converse with locals, and savour the anticipation of an authentic Sri Lankan meal.
Accommodation: The spectrum of accommodation in Sri Lanka ranges from budget-friendly hostels to luxurious resorts. Local guest houses offer an authentic experience, with a chance to enjoy home-cooked meals and local stories. Remember to book in advance during peak season (December to March) to avoid last-minute hassles.
Food: Sri Lankan cuisine is an amalgamation of flavors, with aromatic spices and fresh ingredients at its heart. Indulge in a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast with “hoppers” and “kottu,” or feast on a variety of local curries for dinner. For the dessert lovers, “watalapp an,” a steamed coconut custard, is a must-try.
Clothing: Given the tropical climate, lightweight, breathable clothing is recommended. Pack a raincoat for sudden showers and warm clothes if you plan to visit the cooler hill regions. For temple visits, respectful attire covering shoulders and knees is necessary.
Conclusion: Traveling is more than ticking off tourist spots; it’s about immersing yourself in the ethos of a new land. As you embark on your Sri Lankan expedition, you’re not just stepping into a country; you’re stepping into a treasure trove of culture, nature, and history. This guide, interwoven with practical information and cultural insights, is your stepping stone into the heart of Sri Lanka. Here’s wishing you a journey filled with awe-inspiring moments and enriching experiences!

"That job is beneath me"
I don't think doing any job that needs doing is beneath me. Because I learned from tech industry startups that, as the boss, as the owner, you have to wear multiple hats for positions you won't be able to fill. Either because nobody wants to waste time with a job that's likely to go bankrupt in a week, or because you can't afford to fill them.
That's my mindset, and the military reinforced that idea. Because there wasn't anybody else to do the job if we didn't do it.
When I talk about a job being beneath me, I mean that I'm over qualified to work under most, if not all business owners. Especially if it's a chain. Either I would have to omit a lot of info on my resumè, because they won't believe somebody of my caliber would walk through their front door. Or, they just won't be able to match my level of skill in their own job, or work ethic in a position they put me in.
Basically, I'll end up stepping on the boss's toes, the boss's boss's toes and regional 's toes. And they will not appreciate it. Their response will be negative because I will be "acting out of line" making it tougher to do their job, and a whole host of things that are not conducive to a healthy work environment.
"That Job is Beneath me" doesn't mean it's a job I won't do, it's that I would do it, and I'd still get hate for it. It's not that I don't trust management, or restaurant owners, or anything of the like. It's that I know too much about operations, that they will not trust me. Or they will over rely on me.
I would not be happy working for them, and they would not be happy working with me.
That's why I set out to start my own business in the first place, because I have that ethic. Those core values. And the reason why it fell through was because of the reasoning I've already described, just in a different facet of life.
People always think they know more than you about something. They think I'm the one causing problems when I talk facts, statistics, and data analysis.
Because they're used to working with different kinds of people. But I'm the zebra when they say "think horses not zebras". And though I don't hide it, they straight up can't believe it.
"That Job is Beneath me" means I've worked for people more qualified than the manager I'll be working for. It means I'm more qualified than that manager I'd be working for. And doing a job for less than my qualifications means I'll be sitting around bored, complaining, and generally setting a bad example for entry-level workers, that'd be better off if I don't set that bad example.
It means you can't pay me what I'm actually worth to work the position that you need filled.
Trust me, I've been motivated to work jobs that I would enjoy doing just for enjoyment's sake. Hell, I even demonstrated it, live on twitch. But I didn't get paid anything.
I would gladly do lots of things for free, as long as I'm being paid what I'm worth. But I'm not, you can't, and so I won't.
Till then, enjoy whatever I create when inspiration strikes me.
I will not be put in a position where I'll end up doing things way above my pay grade anyways. I did that, I got shit on for it, I won't do it again.

I'm in the camp of: If you request say, chicken parmesan, from a replicator, that because it works from specific programmed entries (that probably factor in nutrition data) rather than the full array of variation in recipes, yes it wouldn't be as good as home or restaurant cooked.
BUT, if you replicated the individual ingredients (chicken, breadcrumbs, cheese, herbs&spices, everything that goes into marinara etc) and then prepared the meal from that, it would be nigh indistinguishable from the same recipe with non-replicated ingredients.
As a side note… I am really annoyed by one thing about Star Trek.
“Replicated food is not as good as real food.”
That’s ridiculous.  In Star Trek, replicator technology is part of the same tech tree as transporters.  Replicated food would be identical to the food it was based on, down to the subatomic level.

Billing to Inventory in One Click: How POS Software Can Transform Your Outlet
In today’s fast-moving retail and food service landscape, efficiency isn’t just a goal—it’s a necessity. Whether you run a bakery, restaurant, supermarket, or franchise outlet, the time between billing a customer and updating your stock can make or break your operations. That’s where modern Point of Sale (POS) software comes in, transforming the way outlets manage transactions, inventory, and overall business flow.
The Traditional Problem: Disconnected Systems, Manual Work
In many traditional setups, the billing counter and the stockroom operate in silos. When a sale is made, the cashier records it manually or through a basic billing tool. Meanwhile, someone else has to update inventory records—either end of day or periodically. This manual and delayed process often leads to:
Stock mismatches
Over-ordering or under-stocking
Wasted inventory or spoilage
Inaccurate reporting
Revenue leakage
And worst of all? Your team spends valuable time on clerical work instead of improving customer experience or growing the business.
The Modern Solution: One-Click POS with Inventory Sync
A smart, cloud-based POS software integrates your billing and inventory systems in real-time. The moment a product is billed at the counter, the system instantly deducts it from your inventory—no manual entry, no delays, no confusion.
Here’s how it works:
Product Sold at POS A customer purchases a product or a menu item.
Real-Time Inventory Update As soon as the bill is generated, the software reduces stock from the backend inventory.
Auto Alerts for Reorder Levels If the stock goes below a defined threshold, the system sends alerts or creates purchase requests.
Dashboards & Analytics Managers can view real-time sales, stock movement, and profitability insights on a centralized dashboard—even remotely.
Key Benefits of Billing-Integrated Inventory Management
1.  Zero Manual Errors
When billing and inventory are linked, human error is significantly reduced. No more forgetting to deduct sold items or entering wrong quantities in stock registers.
2. Saves Time and Manpower
Your staff doesn’t need to reconcile bills with stock manually. That saved time can now be invested in sales, service, or strategy.
3. Better Stock Planning
Track fast-moving and slow-moving items in real-time. Predict demand patterns and avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
4. Accurate Profitability Insights
With real-time data on what is sold and what remains in stock, you can calculate actual margins, wastage, and cost-to-sale ratios instantly.
5. Simplified Returns & Expiry Management
When customers return items or when perishables expire, smart POS systems can reverse stock or flag them accordingly—keeping your numbers clean and compliant.
6.  Multi-Outlet Control
For chains or franchise models, cloud-based POS lets you monitor all your outlets from a single dashboard—track stock, sales, wastage, and performance outlet-wise.
Why Businesses Are Shifting to Smart POS Platforms
Modern businesses don’t just want automation—they want intelligent automation. The new generation of POS software is no longer just a billing machine. It’s a complete business intelligence tool that connects your sales, stock, customer data, pricing, accounting, and even loyalty programs into one seamless system.
Features to Look for in a Smart POS System:
Cloud-based access
Real-time inventory sync
Ingredient-level inventory tracking (for food outlets)
Multi-device & multi-location support
Reports & analytics dashboards
CRM & loyalty program integration
Mobile app access for owners & managers
Offline billing capability
Final Thoughts: It's Time to Modernize Your Outlet
Running an outlet today is all about speed, precision, and insight. A smart POS software transforms your operations from reactive to proactive. With real-time billing-to-inventory synchronization, you eliminate guesswork and unlock the power of accurate data—so you can serve better, grow faster, and scale smarter.
Whether you're operating a single store or managing a growing franchise, the switch to a smart POS system with integrated inventory is no longer optional—it’s a competitive edge.
Ready to transform your outlet? Explore how BETs Point of Sale System can simplify your operations from billing to stockroom in one click.
