finally posting my own lil yugi!

yugioh's art style was literally literally the main catalyst for me starting to really sit down and try to draw to get out the ideas in my head, but I've never settled or even stumbled upon a style/way of drawing yugi or yami in a way that i like. i do nottt have anyy sort of consistency with my style but i sketched this on paper and wanted to try it digitally

Im writing an essay lol both bc and in spite of the fact very few people will see this lol. But yeah i never have enjoyed coloring v much. I rlyy prefer the look of black and white, high contrast sort of "coloring" and so i tried it here.

the clothes are not my favorite but they also weren't really the focus when i first sketched this, and I didn't want to lose focus by looking up clothing references bc i know i would just get lost trying to meticulously replicate all the little details. I tried to keep the lining and coloring process simple and i still fell into that trap, so i think i was right to ignore the clothes

obvs the focus was yugis waist lmao and his expression. And im kinda ugh at myself bc i dont feel like i drew it exactly the way i wanted to but i did try and it is nearly there so im good with how it all turned out

Imma def end up putting all this under a read more so if you'll let me ramble for a bit more: my blog is supposed to be a puzzleshipping blog lmao but as i said before, i struggle to draw both yami and yugi so it'll be a while before i post any art of them here lol.
