The Flash estreia no dia 15 de junho.

WHAT AN ELECTRIFYING FILM⚡ Love the action sequences, the humor, the storyline and its easter eggs if you are an die hard Flash fan⚡ Between the VFX/CGI & the cameos, there was a few hits or misses on a few scenes mostly on the 3rd act, but nothing major.
• Sasha Calle was phenomenal as Supergirl!! She poured her heart and soul in that role. Hopefully they keep her in future DC films.
• Both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton were fantastic as Batman! Both versions brought closure and a final bow to their historic Dark Knight in their respectful way.
• THE MAIN ACTOR⚡ Ezra Miller had outdone themself with their dual roles as the big screen's first scarlet speedster & its alternate counterpart. Miller's performance was excellent, blending humor and drama at the same time. Despite their personal controversies, Ezra nailed it as Flash.
• Along with the other fellow #DCEU alum, #KierseyClemons, #MichaelShannon, #AntjeTraue, #JeremyIrons (who did their characters justice in the film) with newcomers #RonLivingston & #MaribelVerdú, The cast was solid.
• Though Zack Snyder & Deborah Snyder had definitely brought the character himself to the big screen, Andy Muschietti & Barbara Muschietti along with Benjamin Wallfisch did outstanding work on this film.
• All in all, this film a grand, creative DC adventure made with a lot of care & passion. Does it have its faults, yes! A guilty pleasure, yes! But it never takes away from what makes the film great: its heart. A ELECTRIFYING action-packed ride through the DC multiverse that had left me a big smile on my face from start to finish. After 4 decades from first mentioned in the 1980s to almost 2 decades of development hell, this was worth the wait⚡️
So, go see it⚡
9/10⚡

Drinking Buddies (2013)
Tumblr media
We didn’t need another reason to bury all of those lame, cliché-ridden romantic comedies in a desert and never look back, but here comes Drinking Buddies anyway to remind us of what a great film about relationships can be like.
It’s about Kate (Olivia Wilde) and Luke (Jake Johnson), two friends work together at a brewery. She's dating Chris (Ron Livingston). He's with Jill (Anna Kendrick). During a weekend of camping, their friendship - along with their relationships - become strained.
This is a movie whose plot feels big because of the characters and the ways you relate to them. Immediately, you're torn. On the one hand, Kate and Luke have terrific chemistry. They get along as only best friends can. You want them to get together but you don't want the relationship's they're currently in to end. Jill is a great girlfriend. She's serious about Luke. Similarly, Kate is dating a great guy. This isn’t a story where you'd be happy to see the pre-established couple break up because the guy is secretly a skirt-chasing weasel, or the girl is an ice-queen that bullies her man. The relationships and people within them are believable. Like in real life, you can be dating the most wonderful person and be perfectly happy… until you see that green grass on the other side. Am I as happy as I could be? Is it possible I'm still in this relationship because it's comfortable? Will I regret not taking this chance down the line? It may sound like a soap opera but everyone feels that way at one point.
Seeing these people makes you reflect on your own relationships. Watching Luke, being tempted by Kate, while still wanting to love Jill made me think of the mistakes I made over the years. Every instance where I wasn't a true friend or a good partner made me appreciate Drinking Buddies because here, no one is solely at fault. Ultimately, no one really knows the rules of the game but we're all playing together so we just have to learn to accommodate the other players as best we can.
It's an insightful movie about dating, relationships, men, women, and friends. It’s for adults because it approaches real emotions with bravery and avoids the soapy and melodramatic. There also happens to be quite a few laughs along the way. If the themes and the feels weren’t enough, the cast is astounding. Magnetic actors and actresses on-screen in great 3-dimensional roles and everyone is firing on all cylinders. Initially, I wasn’t sure where the movie was going. Once the setup started paying off, I fell in love with everything about Drinking Buddies… and I don’t even like beer!
Drinking Buddies would be a great movie to watch or give to your BFF of the opposite gender. Whether you've dated in the past, or haven’t; whether you’re both single or in a relationship, it doesn't matter. Seeing it together will be like a walk down memory lane that will help you become even closer. (On DVD, June 14, 2015)

Review : The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Bigfoot (2019)
Tumblr media
Sometimes you read a movie title, and everything you need to know about that movie is encompassed in the title.  Texas Chainsaw Massacre.  Night of the Living Dead.  Hobo With a Shotgun.  You catch my drift.  That’s why, from the moment I heard about The Man Who Killed Hitler, and Then the Bigfoot, I knew that I had to see that film.
Calvin Barr (Sam Elliot) spends the twilight of his years taking care of his dog and checking in on his younger brother Ed (Larry Miller).  He often reminisces on the love of his life, a woman named Maxine (Caitlyn FitzGerald) that he let slip away before going to World War II.  What really and truly haunts him, however, is his time as a soldier.  Calvin, even as a young man, longed for a peaceful life free of conflict, but when duty called, he answered.  His duties, however, led to him being asked to take the life of Hitler in hopes of winning the war.  Now, many years later, Calvin is tasked for a new mission from American agent Flag Pin (Ron Livingston) and Canadian agent Maple Leaf (Rizwan Manji) : killing a diseased Bigfoot (Mark Steger) to end the spread of the Nightmare Plague, a disease threatening to end civilization as we know it.
This film plays like an exercise in lore-building, where the goal is to create a modern day John Henry of sorts.  With Calvin, we are presented a man often haunted by his past during moments of reflection, and the past we are present with has a moment of ‘glory’ that exceeds the imagination.  Due to his code, his honor, and his hesitancy to be responsible for a human life, however, we are presented with a tortured individual rather than one who holds those memories with pride.  The aforementioned moments where Calvin stops at his reflection to reflect is visual poetry that resonates, with Sam Elliot’s legendary stature furthering the effectiveness of the moments.
The Man Who Killed Hitler, and Then the Bigfoot is a triple threat of sorts : a combination of a No Country For Old Men tale of a man witnessing the times change, a heightened historical drama, and a fantasy adventure.  This allows for the use of a non-narrative structure that not only gives visual subtext for pensive moments in the form of low-level PTSD triggers, but it allows for stylized shifts from one era to the next.  In terms of narrative subtext, making Calvin the man responsible for taking the lives of two monsters plays well against his timid and tender nature, as not even the most heartless man and a rabid beast give him full license and justification for taking a life with no regrets.
The period-based nature of large sections of the film allows for distinct shifts in design and costuming that are taken full advantage of.  The deliberate pacing of the film makes the 90 minutes hold very well, where the film does not feel overly long, but it doesn’t fly by in comparison to the modern day two-plus hour film.  The score and cinematography during the titular heightened moments balances well against the personal moments, where diagetic soundtrack plays against slice of life moments in comparison.
Sam Elliot and Aiden Turner do a fascinating parallel job portraying the complexities of Calvin Barr, with Elliot’s pensive nature and reflective regret playing well against Turner’s youthful optimism that is caged by the fear of unknowing, forcing him to take dangerous leaps physically and hold back on the emotional ones.  Caitlyn FitzGerald brings echoes of war-era unrequited love performances to the table, but builds it under a foundation of silent strength due to the unwritten rules of a bygone era.  Ron Livingston and Ritzwan Manji make an interesting ‘good cop bad cop’ pairing, with Livingston playing the American heavy, and Manji playing the curious and concerned Canadian that lacks edge.  Larry Miller and his comedic presence create a youthful vibe that plays well against the world-worn nature of Elliot, therefor bolstering his little brother performance.  Appearances by Sean Bridgers, Ellar Coltrane, Aubrey Hale, and an unforgettable performance by Mark Steger round out the proceedings.
In the end, this film may not win any awards, but it is a short and sweet piece of art that I imagine is rewarding upon repeat viewing.  Funny enough, I watched it twice before writing on it, as it spoke to me enough to revisit it before penning my thoughts about it.
