I don’t know a whole lot about Chinese mythology despite the number of Chinese novels I read, but even I’ve heard of the whole scholar and fox spirit thing, and it just came to mind that Song Ci and Rong Bai fit that stereotype really well, don’t they?  SC as the scholar and RB as the fox spirit bewitching him into uncharacteristic behavior such as defending him so stringently despite his usual character of self-preservation...

It was a nice read! The side arcs were pretty interesting. I truly enjoyed it. Towards the end, it got little confusing but I loved it nonetheless!
