Hi hi--love your blog. Would you have any perfume recommendations for someone who likes rose scents and hates perfumes that are overwhelming or heavy? My sister loves rose notes and has a pretty sensitive nose, but I want to get her some nice perfume for Christmas <3

I've compiled a list of rose scents that came to mind and which I feel are light/fresh and rose-dominant! 🌹 There are juicy, cool and flowery options and I hope something strikes your fancy or sounds appropriate for the occasion <3

Chloé by Chloé- very light and delicate scent, not super heavy on the rose but it is there. To me, this is a very "safe" perfume - which might make it an option for someone who has a sensitive nose? It's a pleasant veil but it definitely doesn't dominate. It always felt like a spring rain of a perfume to me, light and cool.

Chloé Roses (the one with the pink bow) - I'm not sure whether that's still in production, but I think I still see it around and it's similarly light and delicate as the OG Chloé, but definitely more focused on the rose! Also similarly to the OG, it feels rather cool and fresh to me.

Eau Rose by Diptyque and Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa by Guerlain immediately came to mind and as I was comparing the notes, they seem to be constructed rather similarly in the top & middle notes? Litchie, bergamot and black currant in both scents, which I find striking. I remember them both as fresh, light rose scents. While Chloé's freshness might be perceived as cool, I didn't get that here, so those might be interesting if you're looking for something a little juicier, full-bodied and sweet while still not being overpowering.

There's also a new version of the Aqua Allegoria one, Aqua Allegoria Forte Rosa Rossa. The Aqua Allegoria line is refreshing in nature, but I remember this as more honeyed, deeper, while still feeling light and summery. Also worth checking out 100%!

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet, Rose n'Roses or Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming - all by Dior. The other fragrances mentioned so far all - to me - have notes to balance out the prominent/dominant rose and make it a composition, but these three really felt like rose-punches. My problem with scents that put a lot of emphasis on rose and rose alone is that - to me!!! - they can be a little sickening after a while, but this really isn't the case here. All of these are exquisitely done while being very heavy on the rose, which is very rare imo. Additionally, two of those are EDTs, which makes them lighter by nature, which means they might be interesting as well :)

Red Roses by Jo Malone - a striking rose bouquet!! It's not as "pink" as Dior, but it is also a very rose-centred scent that I absolutely adore. There's a fresh greenness here and I really get the impression of smelling a fresh-cut rose bouquet -> stems and water and all. Since it's Jo Malone, it's uplifting and fresh, elegant and not the type of scent to overpower its wearer. Sophisticated! Elegant! (If you DO want a scent that makes an entrance, Velvet Rose & Oud by JM is an incredible velvet-deep-seductive rose scent. Definitely a lot heavier than this fresh bouquet though!)

Paris Paris by Chanel - my find from yesterday! The description of it embodying "breakfast on a spring day in Paris" was realy fitting imo - light, fresh, delicate, dreamy. The rose note here was also very unique. Light and airy without being cool, sweet without being velvety, and definitely a rose scent!

It might also be interesting to give Chanel Chance Eau Tendre, one of the pink-bottled Narciso fragrances (poudrée, for her...), Dolce&Gabbana Dolce Rose, Gucci Bloom Ambrosia di Fiori or BVLGARI Rose Goldea / Rose Goldea Blossom Delight a try! With those I'm not sure whether they're delicate and/or rose-centred enough for your needs, but they might be! They're also all very nice fragrances :)

Sudden Guerlain day:

Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Vetiver by Guerlain - oh, I loved this one! At the top it's green and almost not bitter vetiver and then neroli starts appearing - still very very fresh but much softer and sweeter. Remains like that for a long time.

Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa by Guerlain - definitely not as strong as Rossa Rossa Forte (obviously) and I'd say this one is also softer and sweeter - maybe the fruits - especially litchi - are a little more prominent. Loved this one too, will try this one on myself to see if it's longevity is also less than the strong version's.

Aqua Allegoria Granada Salvia by Guerlain - alright, I wouldn't say that the titular pomegranate is very noticeable, but it's definitely there. What's also there? Black currant. And a lot of greenery. I wouldn't say there's anything special about it - but it's nice.

Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune by Guerlain - I heard awful things about this one - the people feel cat piss there and nothing else. Here you should know that I'm allergic to cats so my olfactory experience of them is limited to say the least. If I squint really hard closer to the base of this fragrance I can guess where people feel it. But you don't squint and try to manifest cat piss - which why would you? It's a nice a little sharp grapefruit perfume with green notes in the background.

Aqua Allegoria Nettare di Sole by Guerlain - this one is white flowers and citruses, but it's a little too faint for my nose, I'm not sure. (What are "solar notes" even supposed to smell like?)

Idylle Eau de Parfum by Guerlain - I wasn't planning this one - I just had a spare pocket to fill with another blotter and I decided it's time to try and get more into Guerlain classical perfumes. So this is kind of Pure Musk's big sister - it's clean fluffy musk with a lot of floral notes dominated my lily-of-the-valley - here, however, other flowers are a little more prominent making the whole floral bock and bit more abstract. I liked it and will probably return to it.

Shalimar Eau de Parfum by Guerlain - returning to this one and it's a bit of a mixed bag... I'm still completely skipping the top and the middle notes and starting right with the interesting things - animalistic notes - hi, civet, aren't you cute. Yes, so the first couple of minutes on the skin it's odd and almost unpleasant - hash leathery and as mentioned - animalistic, then it starts settling down into something warm and sweet with a lot of incense and raisin. It's very cosy. I saw people describe it as a church + baked goods smell and I'm willing to believe that. It stayed strong on me till I had to literally (and I mean LiTeRaLlY) scrub it off in the shower. I loved it. And I'm also most probably allergic to it. About three/four hours into wearing it I got a pretty strong allergic reaction - runny nose, scratchy eyes - the whole package - and I don't have any more suspects but the perfume. I might experiment with it again just to be sure, but for I now I'm going to abstain from it.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarin Basilic Forte and Rosa Rossa Forte Review - Delphine Jelk; 2022

Well, here’s something I wasn’t expecting: Guerlain on steroids. My thoughts on the debut scents in the new Aqua Allegoria FORTE range.

We thought we’d seen the end of this year’s crop of Aqua Allegorias. But Guerlain have just gone and presented us with something of a surprise: an entirely new Aqua Allegoria range called Forte, which debuts with two ‘stronger’ versions of older AA compositions, Mandarin Basilic and Rosa Rossa, both composed by Delphine Jelk. Краткий обзор ароматов Guerlain Aqua Allegoria: Coconut Fizz, Ginger Piccante, Passiflora и Rosa Rossa

Жизнь спокойней и проще, когда не заморачиваешься. Перестаёшь сравнивать и выбираешь то, что по душе, не следуя ограничениям. И новые Аллегории – кокосовая и имбирная – мне понравились ещё в магазине. Лёгкие, безыскусные – в хорошем смысле. Тем интересней, что симпатии непривычные. Они понравились и дома, принесённые на блоттерах и манжетах. В тепле проснулись, отогрелись – закружилась карусель фруктовых и цветочных запахов, ворвался в комнату свежий ветерок.

Счастье пахнет Coconut Fizz. Ароматный «полароид» тропического курорта: арбузная нарезка, коктейли на кокосовом молоке, средства для загара. Раскрывается кремовыми цветами и пронзительной зеленью, которая не бодрит, а создаёт сонное лежебочное настроение. На коже солоноватый инжир и кокосовые слайсы, а в прохладном, набрякшем влагой мартовском воздухе – огуречный лимонад и букет фрезий. Такой летний и солнечный.

Приятно удивил Ginger Piccante. Имбирь не маринованный и не в виде порошка, а согревающий чай с жёлтыми пряными ломтиками и толстокорым лимоном. Водянистый ароматный настой, который быстро набирает плотность и густоту и превращается из зимнего напитка в медовую розу с перцем.

Rosa Rossa и Passiflora не вызвали восторга. В Пассифлоре много фруктов, переложенных слоями. Лимоны, грейпфруты и лаймы с подбитыми боками и стекающим по бугристой кожуре соком. Маракуйю не почувствовала. Есть сладкая жвачка, пузырьки газировки, голубой бассейн с хлоркой и свежевыстиранные полотенца. Обтекаемо и гладко, но так пресно обыграно, что забывается через минуту.

Первый аромат – распустившиеся розовые кусты. Яркие, как лучи рассветного солнца, с плотными атласистыми лепестками. Фоном чёрная смородина и засахаренные фрукты. Спустя несколько часов цветы исчезают, остаётся только лёгкий кремовый мускус с кислинкой личи.

Delikatna i świeża esencja bułgarskiej róży - tak charakterystycznego dla Guerlain kwiatu - ujawnia swoje migdałowe akcenty. Następnie rozwija się cieplejszy, bardziej miodowy absolut róży z Grasse wraz z najwyżej jakość ekstraktem z płatków róży damasceńskiej.

Proces upcyklingu stanowiący integracyjną część filozofii Aqua Allegoria, pozwala uzyskać z róży jeszcze więcej składników zapachowych, przede wszystkim jej bardziej owocowe, brzoskwiniowe nuty.

Pikantny akord różowego pieprzu reprezentuje ciernie kwiatu, podczas gdy odrobina czarnej porzeczki jest jak delikatny rumieniec na policzkach.

„Rosa Rossa Forte to róża o zachodzie słońca - intensywna, owocowa i aksamitna” - Delphine Jelk, Kreatorka Zapachów Guerlain.

Mi chiamo Francesca, in Instagram “sexandthewomen“. Vivo a Brescia con la mia dolce metà, Paolo, e lavoro come Psicologa e Sessuologa. Adoro condividere la mia passione per la sessuologia (e quella per la moda!) sul mio profilo instagram, dove condivido quotidianamente video in cui parlo di sessualità femminile e problemi di coppia. Non sono un’amante dei viaggi lunghi, delle mete lontane, adoro le fughe che durano un weekend e non amo variare troppo la meta: io e Paolo abbiamo i nostri luoghi del cuore, diciamo che ci piace sentirci a casa nei posti dove andiamo, cosa che richiede necessariamente di tornarci più volte!

Un succo detox o una tisana che ama bere.  Moveat di Auchan: 100% frutta e verdura spremuta a freddo. Li adoro!!! Da quando li ho scoperti sono diventati il mio “spuntino” pomeridiano preferito 😉

Il suo profumo preferito e perché lo ama. “Un Jardin Sur Le Nil” di Hermès e “For Her” di Narciso Rodriguez. Difficile spiegare perché si ama un profumo, diciamo che entrambi “mi calzano bene”.

L’essenza per la casa preferita.  Non sono un’appassionata di essenze ma adoro la candela profumata “Feu de bois” di Diptyque che mi ha regalato mio fratello. Ha il magico potere di creare un’atmosfera parigina!

Un rito prima di coricarsi.  Io e mio marito restiamo abbracciati a lungo, non potremmo proprio addormentarci senza questo momento nostro. Funziona meglio di qualsiasi trattamento di bellezza.

Cosa fa per mantenersi in forma? Vado in palestra 2 volte alla settimana, seguita da un personal trainer. Non salto mai questo appuntamento, per me diventato essenziale per il benessere psicofisico.

Segue una dieta? La mia dieta è mangiare un po’ di tutto. Credo che il nostro organismo abbia bisogno anche della carne rossa, per esempio, senza esagerare. Non tengo dolci in casa, ad eccezione del cioccolato fondente e della torta che preparo sempre per la colazione. Mi piace davvero tutto, ma forse il cibo che amo di più è la pizza, che mangio sempre una volta alla settimana. Una grande passione, che condivido con mio marito, sono i vini rossi di Borgogna!

Come si rilassa? Con lo sport! Dopo la palestra mi sento rilassata e libera da ogni pensiero. Oppure degustando un Borgogna con mio marito nel weekend o, ancora, chiacchierando per ore con le mie amiche (di moda o di sessuologia!).

Rossetto preferito. YSL Rouge Volupté Shine, colore Smoking Plum 48. Ha un profumo buonissimo ed è molto idratante e luminoso.

Smalto preferito. Non uso smalti!

I prodotti di makeup che usa. Adoro il fondotinta Touche Éclat di YSL, le matite ombretto Hypnôse di Lancôme e il mascara Diorshow Iconic Overcurl di Dior. Come terra adoro la Terracotta Joli Teint di Guerlain e per esaltare le sopracciglia un gel cremoso colorato di Benefit, Ka-Brown.

Nella sua beauty routine qual è il prodotto al quale non rinuncerebbe mai e perché?  La mousse detergente viso Foamingly Clean di Benefit. Pulisce davvero a fondo la pelle lasciandola morbida e ha una profumazione talmente buona da rendere super piacevole il risveglio.

Un disastro beauty. Mah, semplicemente quando usi una crema non adatta alla tua pelle, che la ingrassa o la secca troppo. È brutto perchè a volte, dopo aver usato la crema sbagliata per qualche tempo, ci vuole un po’ perché la pelle torni ad essere bella.

I prodotti che usa per la cura del viso. Come crema viso uso Visionnarie di Lancôme. La uso mattina e sera, mi trovo davvero bene! Come contorno occhi alterno il gel di Clarins, idratante e rinfrescante, al trattamento levigante e ristrutturante all’acqua di rosa di HQ.

I prodotti che usa per il corpo. La mia crema corpo preferita è Green Tea – Honey Drops Body Cream di Elisabeth Arden. Non ho mai trovato una crema con una fragranza così deliziosa! Viene quasi voglia di mangiarla 🙂 Contiene delle gocce di miele che si fondono con la pelle lasciando un profumo freschissimo e delicato. Se dovete fare un regalo ve la consiglio, non può non piacere! Come scrub adoro quelli di Collistar, in particolare il Talasso – Scrub energizzante.

Un cibo che la fa sentire bene. Pizza pizza pizza! 🙂
