Ruby Rose - Shadow Edition!!

Hey peeps!

If any of y’all follow my Instagram, you’d know that I LOVE SONIC WITH ALL MY HEART and it’s been my newfound hyperfixation during the RWBY hiatus. It hits the same spot RWBY does, in the realm of hope-punk, rule-of-cool anime stuff, and I am immensely happier having both franchises in my life.

I think my hyperfixation spread over to my interpretation of Ruby herself, since she would ABSOLUTELY be a Sonic fan, and I’ve assigned everyone on the main cast a Sonic character counterpart, and I really wanna draw them all in cosplay of said characters

So starting off with Ruby as Shadow!!

Okay, so this matchup is perfect because they both have red and black color schemes (specifically black hair with red highlights), speed powers, supernatural abilities inherited from a parental figure, like guns, have blonde siblings, are besties with a robot, have met batman, live in a world with magical colored rocks that give power boosts, and have Casey Lee Williams singing character-specific songs for them.

I’ve… put a lot of thought about this

Don’t even get me started on the similarities between these two and Crosshair from Bad Batch

Anyway yea, this is just a fun post because I really like this design for Rubes :3

ok so obvs are the skintones: yang and ruby are tanned (yang moreso) while blake has darker skin- weiss is still pale but i could NOT bring myself to use her canon skintone good lord.

blakes hand has some scarring from her time in the white fang, her hair is a bit curlier and her skirt is longer than everyone elses and has pockets! also the bow is bigger but thats just bc i like huuuge bows. she also has a little mole under her right eye ^u^

weiss has a glove on her left hand since thats the one she weilds her sword with, and ruby has fingerless gloves because erm. theyre cool. and bandaids with WBYs colors because we all know shes NOT unscathed. ruby also gets torn tights.

yangs hair is curlier and probably longer, and shes got her uniform mostly undone with rolled up sleeves. arm hair !!!! bc its CUTE !!!!!!! also some freckles from being in the sun and a cheek bandaid bc erm. idk.
