i did not figure out a way to talk about keeping techno alive through fanfiction as i didn’t have enough time to find a good source for that, but i did find a way to mention him in my introduction paragraph, in tandem with star trek smut, which what i think he would’ve wanted 😌

We have been naming Phil after an actually fucking serial killer

AU where SBI are villains, and Kristin is the villain wrangler making sure all the kids who get counseling in her office get a chance to meet who ever they want, even if they’re wanted dead by the hero commission.

Cue meet-cute(?) between Kristin and Phil, where she spends weeks tracking down the infamous “ Crowfather, killer of heroes and hater of the system” because some little kid wanted see him, and she stands tall and totally not terrified (/s) on a rooftop waiting for him.

And Phil is faced with this woman who spent hours and hours researching his routines not to arrest him but to let a little kid meet him, and he just falls for her.

So they exchange numbers, and everytime from there on out when Kristin has a kid who wants to meet The Blade or Orpheus or Nemesis she just casually shoots THE TOP VILLAIN a message, internally screaming, while Phil is kicking his feet on the air like a stereotypical teenager everytime his phone dings with a personalized ringtone.

Hero!Dream: I have finally confronted you, doer of evil! Today, our fight will be legend-

Crowfather!Phil: wait pause mate- OMG ITS HER 🥰🥰

Hero!Dream: wait wha-

Technoblade: I’ll take it from here

And so begins her getting really casual about the fact she personally texts the top villain.

I’m imagining some side stuff where she meets Tommy, a sidekick in desperate need of help (which she’s happy to provide), and a few others who’s relationship evolves with her over time.

Kirstin when first meeting the Blade: hooooooly smokes this guy is Dangerous, but if the kid wants to meet him… I’ll be prepared

Techno: uhhhhhh (struggling to interact with the receptionist, holds kids and swings them around gently like planes, lets them win fake fights)

Kristin: ok wait he’s like seven shaking puppies built like a brick house

She and Phil talk more and more as the arrangement continues, about everything and eventually life, and things shift from there. The first time that a villain tries hurting one of the kids also shifts their relationship…. especially since Kristin handles it as efficiently as she does.

There’s more, but in this AU I imagine Kristin to have a super dangerous power of her own (unregistered because teehee) that motivated her to work with troubled youth in need of help and kids working with a limited lifespan. I want her to be OP but just friendly and downplaying her ability since she was never in a situation to use it to the full extant.

Also there’d obviously be a CrimeBoys plot and adoption of Tommy into the family (bye bye Dream) which leads to her getting invited over to like. Family dinners and stuff, where the interactions are all completely cute and normal but undercut by her perspective reminding her of crimes they’ve all committed. Like-

“Phil, who had the most beautiful eyes but hands stained with the blood of approximately 3,791 people, passed her the salad with a bright smile. His son(?) continued the story of how he met a new friend. Kristin wasn’t sure if the story was in or out of masks, and she was scared to ask at this point.”

I especially want her to and Phil to reflect the two main approaches to changing the world, where you could either completely destroy the system in place (villains, anarchy) and forcefully restart, or you could tackle an issue at its lowest (if the world is full of corrupt people, change the people from a young age)

Alien AU where alien!Tommy works with a team of humans. 

They’re… strange. He can’t tell what their mannerisms mean. If he’s annoying them, angering them, making them hate him. 

So, desperate for their approval, he does some research. 

“How to Make Humans Happy.” 

The results are… inconclusive. There’s far too many wildly different options, all sorted under… “love languages?” (Something Tommy’s translator strangely doesn’t have.)  

So he tests a few on SBI. 

“Physical touch,” specifically, “hugs.” Something about putting their arms — of which Tommy has four — around each other. 

So surely he’ll be good at it.

And there’s no one better to give it to than the crew’s fighter, Techno.

It’s *easy.*

The moment Techno appears, Tommy practically tackles him, throwing his arms around the human and *squeezing.* 

And it’s… nice, too. Warm. Solid. Comforting.

Until Techno pries him off with a grimace.

“Not my thing, kid.”

Tommy doesn’t dwell on it. 

(Doesn’t spend a sleepless night on panicked research. Doesn’t fill a notebook with frantic scribbles and ruined hypotheses. Doesn’t pace, terrified he’s ruined something.)

No. He just moves to his next target. His next test.

“Phil: ‘Quality Time.’”

This one’s a bit clearer. Something about giving the human ‘undivided attention.’ Talking with them. Being close.

(Tommy ignores how that sounds nice to *him,* too. This is about Phil. Not himself.)

And just like Techno, it falls apart in seconds.

“Sorry, mate. I’m busy.”

Phil brushes right past Tommy, captain’s coat flicking behind him.

Tommy stumbles after him, translator failing under how much he stutters. "I just— wanted to talk? Time? Just a little—”

“Maybe later,” Phil says. And to his credit, he sounds apologetic. 

But later never comes. 

He’s *captain.* Of course he’s busy. Tommy forgives him instantly. 

But he doesn’t forgive himself. His quarters are practically drenched in papers now, pieces of research, frantic notes. Failed attempts to show love (to see if they love them).

He has one last shot.

Wilbur.

Maybe he’d like ‘physical touch.’ Or, ‘quality time.’

But those failed. And Tommy can’t do, ‘gift giving,’ with nothing to give. Or ‘words of affirmation,’ with his translator so unreliable.

But he can try ‘acts of service.’ He can work more.

That’s why he’s here, after all.

In the next few days, he disappears.

He cleans, takes inventory of supplies, organizes plans, always trying to catch Wilbur’s eye. (Never *telling* him. Surely this love is supposed to be selfless. Quiet.)

But what catches Wilbur’s attention is how Tommy ruins everything. 

It was meant to be kind.

It was just one leak in the ship’s engine room. Tommy knows basic mechanics — he knows how to fix it. Just a few patches, a few readjustments—

And then every alarm light goes off, every emergency alert wailing. 

“What the fuck were you doing?”

It’s only after the leak’s patched that Wilbur whirls on him, face bright, jaw tight, eyes narrowed.

(Rage, Tommy can understand. It’s just love he’s confused by.)

“I was… I was trying to help? I was doing my job?”

Wilbur scoffs, snatching his mechanic’s kit and stalking out the door.

And right before he disappears, Tommy hears him mutter, “Then it’s a good thing your contract’s ending.”

And it is.

Tommy has a few more days with them. A few more days to try to show them love, to piece together the frantic notes around his room.

But he doesn’t. Just curls into a quiet ball. Small. Unnoticeable.

Because if they’re giving him up, then that’s what they must want.

“You were supposed to pack up.”

It’s Techno that stands outside Tommy’s quarters, peering into the room. 

Pack up — to leave, with the contract ending. And Tommy hasn’t even gotten up.

Or hidden the notes & failed research scattered around the room. 

“I’m sorry.”

He clambers to his feet, swaying dizzily. Surely Techno won’t notice them. He hadn’t noticed Tommy’s failed attempts either, and if Tommy’s leaving, he surely doesn’t care now—

“What’s this?”

Techno’s brow furrows, eyes fallen on a sheet pinned to the wall. (Test 1: ‘Physical Touch’)

Tommy stumbles in front of him, blocking his view. “Sorry, I’ll clean that up—”

He almost slips on the papers across the floor. The frantic notes he’d written each time he failed.

His handwriting’s shit. But he can still see Techno reading them, brow furrowing deeper and deeper.

*Test 3: ‘Acts of Service.*

*Wilbur should like this one? I’m helping?*

*I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.*

*I don’t know how to love them right.*

Stupid. All of them. And Techno must think the same, with how he slowly looks up.

“Tommy—”

Tommy bolts. If they want him to leave, he’ll make it easy — and so he runs.

Or… tries to.

Because Techno catches him. Pulls him close, arms gently closing around him.

A hug. 

“What were you trying to do?”

Techno’s voice is soft, murmuring over him. He’s… not letting go. Not shoving Tommy away. So Tommy almost manages to say, *I just wanted to love you—*

“Tommy?”

And oh, this hug is nice. 

Because Tommy can hide his face in Techno’s chest as Wilbur and Phil slip into the room.

No one even has to say anything. There’s just silence, as the two slowly take in Tommy’s mess of research.

“I tried.”

Tommy’s voice breaks on both words. But the translator must catch them, because all three humans turn towards him, Techno’s hug gently tightening.

Even before Tommy whispers, “I didn’t know if I was loving you right.”

“You were.”

It’s Techno. He slowly lowers himself to the ground, still cradling Tommy so painfully soft.

 “You’re trying.” Techno’s voice catches as he looks at the scattered papers. “So, so hard. That means everything.”

And right there, Tommy starts to sob.

He’s done his research. He knows what SBI’s doing, as they comfort him.

Techno, holding him, rubbing his back. Phil, sitting at his side & never leaving, quietly talking like Tommy’s worth his attention. Wilbur, only leaving to bring blankets & fresh, warm drinks.

It’s love.

(Afterwards, there’s… a bit of change around the ship.

There’s clearer communication, for one, giving a bit of extra time for translation errors. 

And sometimes, words aren’t even necessary. Just gentle contact. Gifts. Time spent quietly in each other’s company, warm and safe. 

A different language entirely.)

I legitimately could write so many essays or video essays on the dream SMP if I actually sat down to do it

- retrospective: dream smp's place in internet culture; how a very unique set of circumstances led to the explosion in popularity

- retrospective: rise and fall of the dream smp; something about how scheduling issues and various other things caused the actual story of the server to fall apart in many ways

- legitimately probably dozens of character studies and story analyses i could do especially about tommy dream and wilbur who are my favorites and have such a unique narrative dynamic

- i have this one fucking batshit theory/take from ages ago (just after tommy died in prison) in which pandora's vault is representative of the actual moral center of the dsmp and tbh i think i cooked with that one

- the impact of fanon on canon and my own personal experiences with Canon As A Suggestion

- the unique space the medium occupies: cc! and c! blurring the lines between actor and character, the weird half-lore segments, the fact that it started out as a bit and became something So Serious, the way that live-streamed minecraft roleplay actually works as a storytelling medium

- legitimately i could probably write really good literature reviews on certain subsections of fanfiction especially sbi tropes.

- subpoint: how the dream smp's specific boundaries and culture made gen fic far more popular than ship fic and how that is so nice to see as an aroace person specifically but also just in general

- just a personal essay on how important and impactful the dream smp was to me As A Person and how it's still a piece of media that is really really important to me, and how i balance that with the feeling of cringe and also The Controversy

- an exploration of fandom space and culture through the dsmp and my experiences in it autoethnography style

like i have So much to say all the time this doesn't even really cover it. exile's impact on the story. when the lore became actually serious. wilbur's entire character arc. tommy as an unwillingly willing protagonist. the discs. THE DISCS. the way that i would rewrite the story if it were me telling it. the way that since it was roleplay it was essentially a first draft and that should be taken into account when analyzing it. Literally Any Fandom Discourse. Literally Any Personal Essay. Literally Any Character Analysis. if i had the time and energy to actually do research for these things and put them together i would be so banger for real

Vampires? Vampires.

Why is it that dark sbi, it's always Tommy who's the normal kidnapped human (or sometimes Techno, as a rare treat)? Why never Philza or Wilbur? They deserve a turn!

So Techno is Head Vampire because Competence

Tommy and maybe Ranboo are his fledglings

Philza is Legendary Vampire Hunter, Wilbur his son and apprentice

Both are aware of the other's reputation and are generally cautious in other's territory, not quite sure who would win in a fight. Better to stay alive and never know :/

oops! Techno turned Wilbur! nvm it's time to murder the strongest vampire in the region

but shoot if Techno dies then all his fledgelings (Wilbur included) die so... better find a cure first (totally ignoring that that's literally impossible, bc nothing is stronger than fatherly love)

"You're not allowed to die on me." Penalty snaps, sharp in the way he only gets when he's truly bothered. Techno tries for a smile, then feels silly as he remembers he's still masked. "I mean, I don't really think that's up to me, but I'll take it under advisement." . or, techno is pretty sure he's ruined things with his family. it takes a close call and a rescue by his estranged brother for him to realize that there's still hope things can change for the better

Another anon wanting to say thank you for sharing your feelings and offering a space for other people to do likewise. I’ve mostly just been a lurker in the fandom, reading fic and barely even watching any streams, but I’m still gutted by the news and trying to process. And reading your blog has really helped. ❤️❤️❤️

the ironic thing is, right before this, I was starting to think about finally writing my own SBI/DSMP fanfic, only I was intimidated by the thought of having to watch all the streams first. Now I am torn between “I don’t want to write something tainted by an abuser” and “now I have the perfect excuse not to do any research, fanfic is my fandom, power to the people babyyyyy”

I figured as a big name in this fandom, specifically one that's known for how big of a fan I was of wilbur, it just made sense to offer up my own thoughts and let others offer theirs. especially since if you're familiar with my tumblr, you know how much of an active ask community I have.

I'm so glad my blog has helped at least a bit. I'm so sorry you're struggling too, but we're all in this together and I just want everyone to remember that

Ferret!Techno (and sbi) au that I wrote out while ao3 was down /⁠ᐠ⁠｡⁠ꞈ⁠｡⁠ᐟ⁠\

Phil is a normal man who comes into possession of a ferret (Technoblade) who was being neglected and could no longer be cared for by an acquaintance.

Initially, Phil tries to find someone to rehome the ferret to, but eventually grows close to him, in no small part due to the fact that Techno will bite people who are over and Phil starts to feel uncomfortable around (and sometimes others too >:3). Decides to keep Techno!

At this point, Phil does research on ferrets and finds out that 1. They need friends to be happy, and 2. They are not supposed to be pink actually.

The second problem can't be remedied, no matter how much he washes and wrings out Techno like a wet dishrag... But he does go buy him two new friends!

Wilbur and Tommy.

Wilbur and Tommy are already bonded brothers and they gang up on Techno at first, especially Tommy. But Techno eventually gets over his shyness and starts biting back. Somehow, this actually makes them gain mutual respect, especially Wilbur, who makes sure Tommy doesn't get too feisty with Techno (and get the chomp). They all become good friends and brothers, making Phil's life a chaotic nightmare as he deals with the three cat worms.

Only, right when Phil starts getting used to being a ferret dad, he wakes up in the middle of the night to a giant racket and finds three children, no ferrets, and their hair is all conveniently color coded.

Obviously, like a normal man, Phil has a little mental breakdown. Because his /ferrets/ just turned into /human/ children.

Neotrio also have a freak out, because they are literally ferrets, but now they have opposable thumbs and consciousness. During the chaos that ensues, several family heirlooms get destroyed and Phil sheds a few tears.

After the dust settles, a certain pink ferret child is missing.

Phil did not think to put child locks on his doors for his /ferrets/ and Techno has a mighty need to elope with his new ability to use doorknobs.

Immediately, they go looking.

Phil is desperately trying to ask people if they have seen a ferret child, and perhaps it is the frantic yelling about ferrets or that Wilbur refuses to not walk like a ferret (Tommy and Techno can walk perfectly normally), but people are avoiding him.

It appears hopeless.

What is a man without his ferret?

Philza sad. (Wilbur and Tommy also sad, but also ferrets).

While Phil is running around town, dragging newly human ferret Wilbur and Tommy along with him on kid leashes, Techno is experiencing the human world for the first time alone. It kind of sucks for a little ferret! Cars keep almost hitting him in the road, humans keep yelling at him, and he has no idea where he is. It is all very overwhelming and scary.

Eventually Techno finds a park and hides inside the tube slide because it reminds him of his cage.

Curled up at the bottom of the playground equipment and sadly eating cheerios that he found on the ground, Techno spends his first night as a human alone and scared.

He misses his ferret family :(

While ferrets do not often turn into human children, it may be even less often that they turn /back/ into ferrets. And yet, when a small child falls down the slide and lands on Techno, there is a poof, a small squeak, and then a peculiarly pink ferret left stunned.

While the frightened child screams up a storm in the slide, Techno immediately runs off, dealing with the existential implications of being a ferret again after knowing morality. And also, he is still alone and outside.

It just so happens that at this time a woman named Kristin is walking by a playground that has a screaming kid and word of a strange pink child. It is really none of her business, but while on her journey home she happens upon a frantic ferret running in circles. She can see hawks and foxes and cats eyeing the strange tube rat hungrily, perhaps only held off by his toxic pink color.

But that doesn't stop Kristin from scooping Techno up, easily dodging his little bites.

"Who the hell lets their ferret outside?"

Philza is a man with no pride.

His previously ferret children have begun to get distracted by the human world. It is inconvenient when Tommy starts eating wild strawberries off of a bush and gets covered in the juice, which causes a lot of confusion considering that Phil is asking after a pink child.The passerbys also do not seem to take kindly when he frantically yells that he means his favorite pink child when they point at Tommy. (Tommy doesn't care, for he is a ferret).

Though, Phil does hear word on the wind about a woman carrying around a bright pink ferret.

On the way to her house, they pass an unfortunate intersection where a car horn blares, causing two poofs and two ferrets to pop back into being. Phil is becoming numb to this circumstance.

Both hands full of ferrets, Phil knocks on Kristin's door and immediately demands his ferret child back. The woman gives him one glance, the ferrets in his hands two glances, and then slams the door in his face with a sharp word about letting ferrets outside.

Immediately, Phil falls to his knees and cries out in anguish.

Kristin obviously hears this through her door, but she's already deep within plotting. Because someone that dyes their ferret pink and lets them run around outside should not own two other ferrets.

Techno, for his part, is curled up in the pillow filled cardboard box she set up for him, missing his brothers and Phil and sad about being ferretnapped.

That night, Kristin hatches her heist. She breaks into Phil's house and steals Wilbur and Tommy out of their cage. It's easy, because Phil is busy loudly crying in the kitchen. (Techno also tries to hatch an escape while she's gone, but his legs are very short and can not escape the box).

When Techno is reunited with Wilbur and Tommy, they all do happy wiggles and run around in circles,before curling up in a cute ferret ball. Kristin thinks it's sweet and sets about researching ferrets (and ferret shampoo to get rid of pink).

Neotrio initially plan to escape back to Phil, but Kristin buys them treats and doesn't mind when they get into gremlin trouble,so they kind of just chill at her house for a couple days. They are ferrets, after all. They can not be blamed.

Only, wouldn't you know, a couple nights later there's a loud clatter and when Kristin runs to check, there is a small pink child standing inside of the ferret box.

And no pink ferret.

Kristin has an appropriate sized freak out over her ferret turning into a human child, and also Tommy and Wilbur (still ferrets) are jumping around like crazy. Somehow, in the chaos, Techno runs away again. (Someone has to buy child locks for this kid).

Now it is Kristin's turn to double clutch ferret Wilbur and Tommy as she runs around looking for human Techno. It's during this that she runs into Phil, who is moping in the streets. Immediately, she starts screaming at Phil. It's only then that Tommy and Wilbur poof into kids.

It gets what she was trying to get across pretty well.

Phil and Kristin team up to find Techno. Nearby, in a shady alley, Techno is poised to grab candy off of the ground underneath of a suspiciously propped up box with a string attached 🪤

As they round the corner, Kristin runs over and kicks the man trying to kidnap Techno in the neck (this is also when Phil falls in love with her).

In a mixture of relief and fear, Phil runs up to Techno and shakes him by the shoulders, yelling about how much he worried him. Experiencing guilt for the first time, Techno's eyes immediately well up as he gives the most pathetic ferret look. Phil picks him up, and alongside Kristin, they bring the ferret children home.

Sleepy ferret boys get tucked into bed as Phil and Kristin go around locking every door and window in sight before they can finally discuss the existence of ferrets turning into children. It's quite the development and they have to swap phone numbers to discuss it more. (And also so Kristin can visit the ferret boys).

Phil wakes up on the couch the next morning to find two ferrets and one pink child splayed out on top of him.

Life is good :)

Reverse Fault Au for April 1st

Basically, what if SBI + Tubbo were humans working for the SCP Foundation, as well as anomalifying villain ocs at the end (which is where most of the tws come into play) 

Tommy: Thomas. A Threat Assessor, like Dr Blake. He has an uncanny knack for driving even the most docile objects to bloodlust, which is useful in ascertaining exactly how much resources must be allocated to containing that SCP. No one is quite sure how he does it, only that a simple conversation can send objects into rages that somehow never touch the man. Thomas simply wears a delighted grin as devastation unfolds. Why does he do it? Why, the love of chaos of course. He’s only bringing out their innate evil, after all. The anomaly wanted to do it, he just gave it the push to act upon its violent nature. 

Philza: Dr. A. Gon. Is an ancient decrepit old man from The War. He picks up little favorites among the anomalies and is super kind to them. Basically acts as a father figure for them, offering advice, giving little treats, limiting punishments, and helping them cope with the trauma of the Foundation…up until the moment he grows bored. After that it’s experiment after experiment trying to squeeze any last drop of interest out of the object before he discards them and moves onto the next. Anomalies tend to be completely psychologically and physically wrecked by the time he’s done with them. Likes to trap anomalies in complex promises that the Foundation can exploit easily. His cane is actually a sword stick, and the cape he has (to mimic wings) can act as a weighted net. 

The Blade: Agent Boore. An MTF captain who leads a squad that somehow literally never manages to fail to recapture an anomaly thanks to his leadership. A lot of anomalies are terrified of him, as he tends to handle the containment breach punishments after catching them. Anomalies don’t tend to try to escape ever again after encountering Agent Boore. He armed to the teeth with near batman levels of gear. Tactics include pumping adrenaline into his veins, filling a room with toxic gas (immune bc of his gas mask (he wears it even while sleeping)) and the humble bazooka. Definitely on steroids. Agent Boore sees a containment breach as a challenge. He likes proving humanity (but mostly himself) stronger than monsters. Is insanely paranoid and tends to be the straight man who is secretly more insane than everyone else. Met Dr. A. Gon in WWII but got Captain America’d, and is actually now trying to sue marvel for using his life story. He does the job in order to protect the poor orphans of the world (evil)

Tubbo: Security Camera B. Is a security officer. Not a single thing goes unnoticed in the entire Foundation. The second an anomaly is out of line they’re reported and appropriately punished. Their personalities are represented in reverse fault by their favorite monitors. Jasmine has a picture of a dinosaur as her screen saver, Rhodes is a picture of an apple tree and technically it’s the oldest of the new computers but they run a mean legal complaint software that really saves the Foundation’s hide. Rosalind is a pic of someone meditating in a field of flowers and Sec Cam B secretly uses that computer to play games to distress. Sec Cam B also works as a recruitment officer given how much conviction about the Foundation they have. ‘It’s the moral thing to do, you have to join. Don’t you want to save humanity?’ They’re insufferably righteous in moral conviction. Lawful evil. 

Wilbur: A. Void. Initial contact researcher, as he has a sharp eye (the other lost to an anomaly years ago) and an even sharper tongue that tends to not only save his life but also weasel out information from the object that would otherwise not have been gotten. His prejudices are flipped from Fault Au. Now, he thinks it unfair that anomalies have more power than humans, and that such a dominance would only lead to subjugation if given time. After all, the powerful always abuse such might don’t they? He believes everything he does is necessary for his own survival. He thinks his punishments are fair, which they could almost be considered to be compared to actual sadists like Agent Boore or Dr. A. Gon.

And on to the villain SCPs!

Webb: A humanoid SCP with eight eyes, six arms, mandibles. Webb has incorrectly healed surgical scars on its throat from an encounter with Dr. A. Gon’s scalpel. An anomaly that can shoot out tendrils of spiderweb that, when making contact, suppress heightened emotions. Effect is strongest while webbing is attached to both object and target, though loses effect about ten minutes after creation, so it is sometimes used to capture other anomalies. While not strong, it is important that Webb doesn’t escape because any urge to recontain it will be suppressed. At most extreme, it can shut down a person till they’re paralyzed, which on a few occasions was enough to stop a human heart because continuing to beat was simply too much effort. 

Dr. Blake: The Scimitar Smile. It is a set of 32 humanoid teeth with a crack through the upper right incisor due to an encounter with Agent Boore. The teeth can move somehow, and tend to hunt in a pack. On their own, a person within their aura will be acutely aware of their own flaws. Often persons with disabilities such as PTSD or anxiety will be triggered by its presence. Exposure to this object leads to strong self loathing and occasional suicides.

It’s when it gets a Host that the Scimitar Smile is at its most dangerous. Once a Host is selected, the teeth will crawl up them and burrow like ticks into the flesh of their cheeks in the arrangement of an external smile. The Scimitar Smile prefers to keep Hosts for a while, but will inevitably abandon it, and during escapes will take many Hosts in rapid succession. Old Hosts tend to scream when they hear their own names, have very little agency, and are incredibly compliant to orders.

Once assimilated, both the Host and the Scimitar Smile’s mouths will begin to speak, saying different things. When recorded and replayed, it sounds like chattering nonsense. Despite being unaware of its contents, the noise is regarded as a cognitohazard as it tends to drive people insane. Only a few reports of what individuals hear in person exist, as those that survive are left in psychological annihilation and refuse to talk about what they heard and did as a result. What we can piece together is this: Past being aware of their flaws, a listener is manipulated into acting on them in the most self destructive way possible.

The Scimitar Smile brings out the worst in people.

I'm 21+, so I'd prefer to only play with people 18+. I'm a lover of SBI, Benchtrio, Borealtrio, things of that kind. I like playing Ranboo, Tubbo, and sometimes on occasion Wilbur, but I'm open to kind of anything as well as anyone. I do ask that we be mindful of any portrayals of canon and headcanon disabilities, as I myself am disabled IRL and I prefer not to engage with stereotypes when research is readily available. My friend @kay-limbo mentioned Scooby Doo Zombie Island, and my brain went into AU mode so...

Zombie Island AU (Dark SBI edition 😘)

Twins Technoblade and Wilbur are new to the Ghost Hunter scene. They've done a few youtube videos of local ghost stories, and they gained some traction. But a few hundred views are honestly not that impressive.

They pool their resources and decide to drive a state over to investigate a ghost story that Technoblade had found online. When they get there, they investigate and find out that the whole story was actually a cover. The Local Mayor encouraged the story to hide the fact that he was trying to bulldoze an important nature reserve for profit. Technoblade and Wilbur take their evidence to the police, who do nothing.

So they post a video about it.

It goes VIRAL.

They blended the ghost story aspect seemlessly with the outrage of the Mayor's actions. It was funny, it was infuriating, it was a HIT.

Suddenly, Technoblade and Wilbur's older videos are getting views as well. They are super excited that their hardwork is paying off.

And then they get an invite to a HUGE Ghost Hunting convention on a place called Rosales Isle.

Through Techno's research, he finds legends referring to it's history of people disappearing.

Techno and Wilbur agree immediately, packing all their gear and gleefully heading to the isle.

The island is small enough that there isn't a direct flight. They take a small ferryboat out to the isle, but they aren't the only ghost hunters there. And the other ghost hunters are sort of...well, they're assholes. The other ghost hunters interview the ferryman and his crew, and they are being SUPER DISRESPECTFUL. Wilbur was trying to create connections with the others (because the other ghost hunters are much more well known), but stops when the talk turns to video editing and one of the guys talks about how he is going to play up the ferryman's accent for laughs.

Wilbur and Techno pull the Ferryman and crew aside and give them all snacks, telling goofy stories and stories of ghost hunting. Wilbur has a great time telling how Technoblade fell off a bridge into a disgusting river trying to get a wide shot. Techno retaliates with the time that Wilbur left the camera lens cap on for an entire night of filming and thought a ghost had blacked out his footage. The crew is riotously happy. And they get footage of some of the funniest and most jovial ghost stories from these guys. It's more of a party than an interview.

The crew presses amulets in their hands, for protection from the spirits of the islands. Wilbur and Techno marvel over them, asking all kinds of questions about how they were made, the history of a design, was it supposed to look like a heart or was that just a coincidence? Techno and Wilbur put them on gratefully. When they disembark on the Island, they wave happily at the crew of the Crow's Chatter as they sail away.

The historic mansion on the island is beautiful, but it is a LONG walk from the docks. Impossible to get lost, because its the only road. But it is HUMID and HOT and all UPHILL. By the time they all get to the mansion, they are exhausted. Well, most are. Technoblade is completely fine, taking pictures of some of the really cool plants "like a nerd", as Wilbur says. But Technoblade hasn't seen plants like these before.

They are met at the mansion by a smiling blonde man and his teenage son. They introduce themselves as Phil and Tommy, members of a family that had owned the home for generations. They lead everyone inside, Phil placating the irritable ghost hunters. Most are near furious that the house doesn't have air conditioning, but Phil smiles apologetically.

He explains that the convention wouldn't be held for a week, much to the anger of almost everyone. But he calmly reassures everyone that he will take care of everything. Food, boarding, and each of them will have exclusive free reign of the island to make their discoveries first before the rest of the convention arrives.

THAT calms them down. Phil starts to explain which areas they should be respectful of, as the people of the island have a rich spiritual history. But Wilbur can see the other ghost hunters collectively decide to ignore that.

A few of the ghost hunters start to immediately pester Phil for an interview, but he smiles politely and explains he is busy and it will have to be later.

Loud and obnoxious, the other ghost hunters start calling dibs on which parts of the island they are going to film first. Wilbur and Technoblade don't bother, as it seems that the other ghost hunters didn’t notice that there was ANOTHER member of the Watson family still in the room.

Or maybe the scowling deterred them, who knows? Wilbur immediately approaches Tommy and politely asks for the interview. Tommy is in the middle of telling them to fuck off before he realizes they are the guys who exposed the asshole mayor. After that he's much more curious.

They chat for a while before ever even pulling out a camera, until Tommy finally agrees after they talk about the Crow's Chatter. He seems to smile gleefully when he sees the amulets.

He gives them a great interview. The kid is hilarious and plays off Techno and Wilbur's humor well. The kid tells them all about the history of different groups invading the island, and mysteriously going missing. Technoblade makes a couple of comments about the benefits of anarchy when Tommy talks about how a few government officials had tried to pass through legislation to force them to allow a theme park to be built. Wilbur comments about eating the rich, which has Tommy laughing so hard tears are pouring from his eyes.

Phil shows up after hearing the sound of Tommy laughing himself sick and joins into the conversation. He starts telling Techno and Wilbur about the history of the island. About how the people historically worshipped the goddess of death and how she protected the isle from invasion. Technoblade asks so many questions about the religion, but backs off when Phil explains a lot of it is kept secret. Technoblade is disappointed, but tells Phil he understood. Wilbur double checks that it is okay to post the info they filmed, and Phil smiles kindly and says its fine. It's a much nicer smile than the politic one he had given the other ghost hunters.

Tommy offers to give a personal tour, since they are cooler than the other ghost hunters, and Techno and Wilbur agree. Tommy gives them a great tour. It's a ton of fun.

Until they come across another group of ghost hunters breaking a grave marker in order to make it more #aesthetic.

Tommy, understandable, flips his LID. Technoblade grabs the teen before he can go for the eyes, but Neo Trio are all three involved in a shouting match with this group of Ghost Hunters until Phil comes out to see what the fuss is about.

He sees the broken grave marker. He see's Neo Trio. He sees the smug ghost hunters. He suggests that everyone just calms down and comes inside for dinner. Its an awkward affair as all the groups come together, but Techno and Wilbur make sure to compliment to food, even as the other ghost hunters are complaining or taking unflattering footage of the food.

When it gets dark, all of the ghost hunters split up. Tommy refuses the offer to join Techno and Wilbur, but gives them some tips of where to get footage.

The ghost hunters who broke the grave marker never show up for breakfast.

It starts the mystery. Techno and Wilbur are trying to figure out what is happening. More and more asshole ghost hunters are disappearing. Strange things are happening that they can't explain.

By the time Wilbur and Technoblade figure out that Phil and Tommy are immortals, taking the life force of the people trapped there, it is too late.

Because Phil and Tommy already decided that the Twins were going to stay with them.

Forever.

Whether they wanted to or not.

AAAAA this is SO excellent!!!

On Tommy Testing the SBI

Tommy tests the SBI a lot when he first arrives.

Mostly he's just intentionally irritating.

He usually tried to keep these tests away from Tubbo's eyes (at least to start)

(His motivation for this is so Tubbo is not in the crossfire, but it has the unintentional consequence of Tubbo not almost murdering the SBI in anxiety every two seconds because Tommy is being dumb.)

Tommy (crafting a scientific research question to test): Will I be yeeted for being annoying as fuck?

Results: Yes, but actually no.

Ghosthunting AU where fear makes ghosts stronger — and Tommy’s far too prone to panic.

Usually, it’s fine. He has SBI, all brave & incredibly competent. It’s hard to be afraid with their comforting presences. 

And then they leave him behind in a ghost-infested house.

It’s an accident. Or rather, Tommy’s praying it is. 

It’s chaos — smashing glass, hallucinations clouding Tommy’s vision despite his frantic salt circle. SBI had barely escaped the spectral frenzy.

And Tommy, the latest hire (not quite part of their *family*) was left behind.

“Phil,” he screams, back slamming against the wall, panic clawing up his throat.

Only the ghosts scream back. The salt circle starts to crumble, and Tommy sobs in fear, desperately trying to reinforce it.

But it won’t last for long.

And his terror’s just making it worse.

“Wil? Techno?” 

Nothing but the sound of shattering glass, shards slicing into Tommy’s skin. He screams again, almost whiting out from fear.

And a quiet part of him mutters, *Coward. This is why they left you behind.*

But they *didn’t.*

Because Techno returns to save him.

It’s like seeing a fucking angel.

But Techno’s still fighting for dear life, throwing salt-and-iron bombs & frantically fending off specters with a silver sword. 

And… screaming at Tommy.

“*Calm down.*”

Tommy sobs, arms over his head. 

Deep breaths? That’s what Phil had recommended. But Tommy can’t breathe. So… repeating mantras, like Wil? But he can’t even think, let alone speak—

Techno’s hands land on his shoulders.

“Tommy, you need to calm down *now.*”

*I’m trying,* Tommy tries to say. “I— I can’t—”

“*Now,*” Techno shouts, letting him go to slice his sword through a terrifying apparition. “Tommy, you’re making them stronger, *control yourself.*”

But he can’t. 

And they both know it.

Techno whips out his pistol, sending a silver bullet through the nearest ghost. 

It barely even stuns them, wild with power from Tommy’s terror. His fault. And now Techno will die because of it.

“I’m sorry,” Tommy sobs, as Techno turns back to him. “I’m trying, I—”

He cuts off.

There’s… realization in Techno’s expression.

Like he knows what he has to do. Like he can *save* them, like they’re going to live, they’re going to be okay—

The pistol slams across Tommy’s forehead, knocking him out cold.

(It’s a desperate measure.

And it works.

Techno tumbles out of the infested house with an unconscious Tommy in his arms, the ghosts withering without their source of fear.

But the action has consequences.

Only SBI’s comfort had held Tommy together. The promise they’d keep him safe.

And now he’s *constantly* terrified around them. Apologizing, wincing when they move towards him, only panicking further when they try to calm him, begging not to be hurt.

He’s useless.)

“You can’t be anywhere near us.”

It's Wilbur, scowling as he clambers into the van. Tommy flinches, research papers & newly filled salt bombs surrounding him. Attempts to be useful.

Apparently, not useful enough.

"You have to leave."

"What?"

Wilbur grabs a rifle from the wall, head jerking towards the haunted area. "They're getting powerful out there. They can feel your fear all the way from here."

That's all Wilbur has to say. *They're hard to fight. We could get hurt.*

And when he leaves, Tommy follows.

He knows himself.

He knows he can't stop being terrified. Not when SBI's in danger. When they look at him with barely veiled irritation. When he's still aching & dizzy from Techno's hit.

And he knows he's SBI's last priority. Their liability.

So he runs away.

(But none of them anticipated the consequences.

When SBI return to the van & find it empty, it's not anger they feel. Or relief, at losing their burden.

It's terror. For Tommy, homeless, jobless, and injured, running away half-dead from a concussion.

And it ruins them.

They can't hunt ghosts like this, wracked with worry.

But they can track down Tommy, dedicating every resource to bringing him back. Back *home.*

And praying that when they find the kid, he's not one of the ghosts they're used to hunting.)
