Can I ask you your experience at conventions? Did you meet J2M or just Misha?
Hi! Of course you can. I have a lot to share. I met J2M and many of the other cast members (you can ask me about interaction with any specific cast member in other messages, if you'd like. I love getting asks). It wasn't their fault specifically, but I didn't have what I'd call a "good time" at these conventions. I went to multiple because I hoped that my experience would be better. That it would be different this time... and it wasn't. There's always loud music during photo ops and autographs. It was too loud to talk or tell them the pose that I wanted for photo ops. It was too loud for them to hear me say "thank you". This is a long reply, so I put the experiences under the "keep reading".
Before I talk about my experiences with J2M, I would like to begin with saying that I don't hate any of them. I'm not a fan of CE conventions, but I don't necessarily hate them, either. Would I go to another CE con? Not likely. Many people have amazing experiences at these conventions, but I just found CE conventions to be highly overstimulating.
With Misha, even when I wasn't with that toxic waste monster of a friend (who will remain unnamed because even though I feel that people should be warned about her, I'll never say her name because that's just not the kind of woman I grew to be), he was always focused on someone else. It wasn't his handler (lol, that makes him sound like a zoo animal, but that's what that person was called!) or the photographer... it was always another fan who hadn't left yet. So while other fans might've had a great experience with him, if I was right after them, I got the short end of the stick. 50/50, I can't blame him, but also... I can, a little. That other fan's time was up in the panel Q&A.
Jensen has always been my favorite. I'm a "Dean girl", through and through. I don't think it's enough to be called a "stan", though. I had the most positive experiences with him. His attention was on me, he called me sweetheart, gave me a hug, and during autos at VanCon, when my voice began to shake as I was trying to talk to him (nothing heavy, I'm just a nervous, shaky person), he held my hands and said just what I needed to hear in that moment (that I was a strong, smart, and beautiful person and that I could do this, and could do anything). He did not even have to do that. I wasn't expecting it. He wasn't obligated to say a thing. I was so blown away (and a bit confused) by his kindness.
Most of my interactions with Jared were pretty awkward. At MinnCon 2017, I brought a poster for them all to autograph. I wasn't aware that it was photoshopped until Jared said something about it. He said, about Castiel, something like, "oh, the ugly angel guy in the trench coat wasn't even there for that photo". He then ignored me and looked past me (when it was still my turn) at my toxic waste monster friend and said, "and you brought me such a beautiful woman!". Oh. Huh. Okay. Whatever.
At VanCon 2019, I had a J2 op that I shared with a stranger to cut costs. This was an awkward experience but ... not all negative. I was 330 lbs and hated the way that I looked. I just wanted a hug from Jensen, that was it, so I told him that I didn't want to show my face, and Jared overheard. At my solo Jared op, he asked me if I wanted a hug, and he gave me a hug (one that hid my face), and I was confused because I didn't see the flash. That's the photo I thought I wanted; what gives? Then, he held me at arms' length and said, "No. I want to see your pretty face." That was oddly sweet, and it ended up being a really cute photo.
I was one of the first people in Silver to get Jared's autograph at VanCon 2019. Like with Misha, I told Jared about my autism and how I appreciated him and how kind and patient he was with me, and while I wasn't expecting much (because he has no obligation to say anything either), I got even less. He just nodded and said, "thank you" and turned his attention to the next person. At the time, that felt... not good. I wasn't upset, nervous, crying, etc., and I just felt... brushed off. I don't know how so many people get so much more attention, not that I wanted it, I was just... y'know, I don't even know why I felt the need to disclose the autism. I think I just felt bad for causing (what I thought was) a problem during photo ops, and just... not being able to make solid eye contact or talk or act like a normal person. Before therapy, it was hard not to feel like a problem, so... I was always apologizing, explaining myself, overexplaining, letting people walk all over me, etc., I am the way that I am because of a disability.
This reply is getting unexpectedly long. If you need me to elaborate on anything or have any other questions, I'd love to hear from you.

at some point a certain fandom within the spn fandom is going to have to do some self reflection and figure out why they're so
a) wildly entitled for no reason
and b) utterly obsessed with portraying themselves as victims because they didn't get what they wanted out of a fictional ship on a cw television series.

i don’t get the 911 and spn comparisons, not because of queerbaiting or anything (i don’t think either of them queerbaited, that’s a marketing technique, 911 has had canonical queer mains from s1 and the cw would rather nobody mentioned the word gay ever again, teen wolf on the other hand-), but because they’re very very different shows and have absolutely no business being compared. they’re nowhere near the same genre so i don’t see why anyone’s bothering.

At the Crossroads 8 convention this past weekend Misha was in “spectacular” form. Is he irrelevant enough to get away with saying the things he did (see below), or could this negatively impact him at all? Also, how likely is it he’ll behave like this at his next con that Jensen is at?
“I’m the one who f***** you hard and raised you from perdition”
https://x.com/sarahjay55/status/1784617852156157955?s=46&t=wx4CnlP_QMqkNn_0DvA9HQ
“If the CW had been less homophobic then Dean and Cas would definitely have been balls deep."
https://x.com/raths_kitten/status/1784630676689490335
He said a slur
https://x.com/raths_kitten/status/1784630981334385116
And finally he was in a “foul mood” at some of his ops (not a new occurrence I know)
https://x.com/raths_kitten/status/1784519380711190889
Link. Link. Link. Link. Is he irrelevant? Yes, with the general audience since 2013 (season 9) and hence why he thought his fake bisexual coming out announcement wouldn't get picked up by People mag. And now he's becoming irrelevant in the SPN fandom as well and why he's going hard with the Destiel-baiting again. Recurring and side actors are known to queerbait their characters because they don’t get residuals from syndication deals so what do they care if they mislead a few fans. Misha is in the same boat because he's been demoted a few times on SPN and hence less residuals, especially over time.
While I actually don't ding Misha for queerbaiting his paying fans, but he shouldn't be slamming the network that helped him stay employed for a decade, no matter how irrelevant he is now. A simple google search will show that GLAAD had praised CW for their abundance of LGBT+++ characters.
The day Misha doesn’t queerbait Destiel is the day you know aliens are real and they replaced Misha with a pod-man who finds the idea of Destiel as ridiculous as the rest of us do.
"He said a slur"
Come on dude, you know you should be saying "the f word and the h word" instead, it's not hard. I'm older than Misha and I've known for over 30 years you're not supposed to say the slur unless you're a member of the community with intent of ~reclaiming the slur (even though I think the idea of reclaiming is dumb).
"he was in a “foul mood”
As you said, this is a regular occurrence. It's his entitlement mentality problem that is partly due to his upbringing in a liberal elite education system that train their students to have contempt for the working class. Misha project this contempt toward his fans. When you're an entertainer, you work for the fans no matter the number, small or large. Musicians sing their hearts out whether they’re rocking in an arena or a club because they do it for the fans that showed up.   Most actors struggle too much for me to condemn them for grabbing financial success when the opportunity arises, but they should be professional towards the fans, especially in a controlled setting.
Sidenote, this is what happens when you send a father-less child to an elite liberal private school, they become entitled and then angry when their entitlements don't pan out. Think of the Occupy movement in the U.S that was opposing the 1%-ers by activists who are the 2-5-ers% who want to become 1%-ers but unable and their attitudes were result of expanding university system that created a large class of disgruntled elite-wannabes chasing too few elite places in society (X).

genuine question from a baby spn watcher who just started watching in 2024 and is not even done yet: why is there a anti misha and anti Castiel tag on some of your posts? I don't understand what he has done and I'm so confused. I'd really appreciate it if you could explain a little bit on the lore. thanks.
It’s simple really. I do not like the character and I do not like the actor. So, I’ve tagged posts that are negative about those things so people who do enjoy or like them can avoid them if need be. Castiel, as a character, started out okay but due to Misha Collins being… Misha Collins I quickly soured on Castiel altogether. Not the character’s fault, but it couldn’t be helped. Also, I find most of the storylines that include Cas to not serve any real purpose seeing as the character was killed off originally in season 7 and only brought back because destihellers threw a bitch fit. Which isn’t a good look and left a bad taste in my mouth. If you happen to like Castiel/Misha then perhaps I am not the blog for you, but if you enjoy the other content I post then I’d suggest just steering clear of those tags.
In short: Misha has exhibited incredibly problematic behavior by baiting destiel shippers with the promise of Destiel scenes or Destiel being canon, only for that not to happen because it never was going to happen, and continually saying things like, “if the CW weren’t so homophobic Dean and Cas would be balls deep.” He knows that’s false… but panders to them anyway because it’s the only way he can stay relevant… he has no real job prospects, is a z lister at best, and he isn’t like able enough to be hired for anything anyway… besides the few people who actually enjoy him… no one fucking knows that guy. He has very little, if any talent, and he’s crass, pompous, and rude.
That’s my view anyhow! Thanks for the ask.

Hi,
Here is the European Anon (or Troll as I am called at the moment). I would like to clarify a few things. I am a fan. Of the show, of the characters, of the two J's. That's the reason why the info about the contract could hurt me so much in the first place. Because this time it affected me myself. I've worked with stars who showed up to work (con) drunk. Who spent more time on Grindr than signing autographs. Who treated their Händlers like crap, while up front they were the loving, attentive star. You learn two things quickly in the businees. The manager is always right, and the star is never the bad guy. We had two guests from an equally famous CW show. The managers had agreed to a duo shoot. The problem was that they hated each other. In the sense of, we had to separate the two spatially, because otherwise it would have come to fisticuffs. The managers of both parties tried everything to make the duo shoot possible somehow and while one star finally agreed to get it over with "professionally", the other remained stubborn. The end? The duo was canceled with the reason "unforeseen scheduling difficulties" Well, sounds familiar? (No it's not Vampire Diaries, Paul and Ian are really like brothers, lol).
What you also learn very quickly. The fans forgive everything and the star is perfect in their eyes. No matter whether stars were bad-tempered, bitchy or sometimes even downright unfriendly, the fans always found an excuse for them, or in the end made us organizers responsible for it. Well, we can live with that, as long as people still pay for their tickets. At the end of the day it is a business.
Why am I writing this? So far it has never really affected me. For me, most of them are just people like you and me and I could deal with most of the stars in a really friendly or business way. But I've been a fan of Supernatural since the beginning. And then such an info is no longer professional but hurts.
I want to make it very clear that no SPN star I have ever dealt with has been unprofessional or unfriendly. Even though Misha's manager is a terrible woman, he himself was always polite to us as employees. And even from colleagues who have worked with J2 so far, there has never been a negative word.
That is why I was so looking forward to working with them. To be able to experience this famous friendship directly.
I am not so high in the hirachie that I get to read a direct correspondence of the management. I also can't say which Con I work for without risking my job. I know it's easier to make me out to be a liar than to accept that I might be right. I realize that and I can even understand that.
I've been sitting on this information for weeks, but who am I going to tell? Who believes me? I've talked to two close friends about it who are also fans and they didn't believe it either.
The trigger was the first reports from Charlotte. I have friends who are on site and yes, probably their euphoria and two glasses of wine on my part made me write to two people. Patrick (TFW) and LOL Jackles . Who I have found through Tumblr several times to be relatively fair and interested in facts. But there was no response. I was honestly taken aback by this, because even if they won‘t believe me, why not share the info anyway? Or at least respond to it? If there is nothing to what I say, then it could be quickly invalidated or? Unless the two know exactly that I'm right and are afraid of when it comes out.
I have written to you days later. you can look it up. I read post that you and others wondered why jared and jensen only come to different cons. That's why I thought, okay I'll send it again. I found your explanation of not posting it understandable and at least you didn't immediately ignore it. Thanks for that. that's also why I'm replying exclusively to you.
Again, I understand if you don't believe me. After all, I didn't want to believe my boss either. I thought he was just not willing to pay the 300 K (And that's what they cost each).
But now exactly what he said happens.
If I am telling the untruth, then why is Jared actually appearing at the same promoters (Monopoy Events, Entertainment Events Etc) on a different date than Jensen and always including Gen? And look at the line up of the English cons and tell me that you could not have paid Jared‘s fee to run various duo shots! If I'm lying, why is Creation now releasing the second convention for 2024 with only Jensen as headliner but not with Jared? It can't be the money, because Creation takes the same amount for the tickets as usual. And schedule difficulties during an official strike ? Hardly. You can call me a troll, but I am a fan as well, I know that you want to believe until the end that everything is good. But I just think the fans have at least a right to hear the truth. And that is that Jared's management will get away from creation cons in the future and will favor cons that Jensen doesn't attend.
Thank you for writing in, again. I'm sorry that because of the multiple asks, you've been classified as a troll. I've been on Tumblr long enough that I've seen multiple copy/paste asks and they most often are a troll, but I can see your reasoning. (I will say that TFW2.0 is a fan of Jensen first, so anything that could put him in a negative light will be summarily dismissed.)
I decided to post this response since your original ask seems to have been seen by multiple other people despite not being posted and I'll allow people to make up their own minds about what they want to believe.
I will say that Jared's absence from the con in July could be due to other reasons, like his standard summer vacation or birthday stuff, and June could be because he anticipates that they might be filming Walker into the summer, depending on how long the strike lasts.
When it comes to doing cons with or without Jensen, I know my initial response was regarding Jared's mental health, but it could also be a strategic business decision. Jared may want to distance himself from SPN (and Jensen) to open up other acting/producing opportunities. It's not always advantageous to just be known as "one of those guys from SPN." He's said before that he enjoys producing and I'm sure he knows Walker isn't going to last forever. An actor/producer's career shouldn't be defined by one role. He may also be promoting Gen to help increase her profile if they plan on producing together in the future. I'm sure there are some who, if they believe it's true, will take it personally, but it really may just be a business decision.
Either way, thank you for sharing. And if there are people who agree/disagree and decide to write to me with their rebuttals, please remember to do so respectfully. I won't post anything with accusatory language, insults, or outright dismissals.

Tara: “Well didn’t you grow up pretty.”
Gwen: “My god, you have delicate features for a hunter.”
I don’t know what it is about female hunters and calling Dean pretty (derogatory), but it’s happened often enough that I’m really wondering about the disconnect between Dean as poster boy for toxic masculinity and his inability to pass. Like, we’ve all already talked at length about how SPN simultaneously presents Dean as the paragon of working-class masculinity while also constantly undermining this by poking fun at how contradictory his form of masculinity is, but that’s a show thing. The other characters actually read him as either butch (i.e. queer) or too feminine to be a hunter (i.e. queer). I mean the trans readings write themselves, but even setting those aside, Dean doesn’t actually pass as straight, pretty much ever. Like if it were just the regular homophobic gaybaiting of calling other guys queer for breathing wrong, that’d be one thing, but between being genuinely mistaken for gay several times and these unsolicited remarks about how pretty he is as literally the first thing out of people’s mouths when they see him, it feels a little more targeted, especially since the only times we really see this happen to Sam are when Dean’s doing it or when they’re read as a couple.
I mean, one would expect that Dean’s pretty because he’s a CW character played by actual model Jensen Ackles and that if SPN were real he’d look like a regular joe, but apparently he really is simply that pretty in-universe too. And the implication seems to be all the pretty hunters end up either dead or no longer conventionally attractive. What is it about him that doesn’t fit their view of what a hunter should look like? These specific examples are also after he stopped wearing his jewelry, like I don’t know where I’m going with this but the only characters who seem to consider Dean straight are Chuck and arguably Dean himself, and his physical attractiveness is actually a negative in his profession.

Jack bringing cas back is Canon. Bobby said as much to dean in heaven.
*nod* Absolutely. Yes, it is, but it felt a little bit like a cheap throw away since he didn’t appear again. I was mainly going on about back back, not just offscreen chilling with Jack somewhere back.

Hi ! A few years back, I asked you how to obtain an official autism evaluation. I finally had my result a few months ago and it was positive. I'm indeed autistic. Without people like you I may have never even knew that I was displaying symptoms of autism. So thank you ! Also, I'm three or four seasons behind on SPN and I want to binge watch all of it before the last one aires but I'm scared to see Cas suffers like always. I hope he has an happy ending at least. That's all I want.
!!!!!!! I’m so happy for you (and so sorry that I took so long to answer this - I’m not on Tumblr very often anymore). It’s always better, in my opinion, to understand yourself in things like this. If you don’t know you, it’s hard to show you, y’know? Like. It’s hard to know what you want, what you need, what you should expect and ask for from others. I’m so glad that you took my help and found yourself out like that.As to Cas, uhhhhhhhh. I wish I had good news for you, but. The last few seasons have been pretty brutal to him and his most focal relationships, and honestly, I would stop watching, if I were you, after 13x06 at the latest. I stopped at 14x06, myself, which is horrifying to describe (but if you want the spoilers, just find my tag for that episode - it’s recent). It just gets worse and worse - especially with the advent of Jack - until Castiel is most of the time, barely recognizable, and never given the respect he deserves.I don’t plan to watch S15, for a reason, honestly. I don’t think the show respects the reality of Cas, as the queer neurodivergent person he is, or as the integral part of Dean’s life (at least, if not both Dean’s and Sam’s) he is, at all, so I’m mostly just holding on until the series is over and I can try and deal with the cathartic release of all those disappointed expectations they’ve been teasing us with fulfilling for a decade.(I’m sorry to say that, I doubt he’ll have a happy ending. They may, at most, give him one where he’s written as content, but Castiel, as he was and as he would be if they respected him as he is, is suffering in silence beneath that contentment. Where there’s fraternity instead of queerness, angelhood instead of humanness, etc. That’s the primary reason I stopped watching. Jack is/was the embodiment of a path chosen away from anything that would make Castiel genuinely happy [literally, in a couple of cases] - as opposed to what the show wanted to do with him that was heedless of who he is, and what he wanted or needed - and I couldn’t stand to watch that happen to a character who’s so me.)

Thought: Dean Winchester did break in hell because he was drawing on selflessness (his need to ease hurt rather than cause it, his flexible identity that shaped round the needs of others) and John Winchester didn't break in hell because he was drawing on selfishness (his unspoken but ever-present need to seem like a good man, his me-against-the-world complex, his self-centred obsessions)
John Winchester felt already that the whole world was against him. At the end of the day, bottom of the ninth, he felt responsible for no one because he considered himself too much the rugged stoic victim of circumstance to possibly be expected to emotionally shoulder anyone else's hurt. Hell wouldn't have been a picnic for John physically speaking but it's an affirmation of his entire attitude and understanding of his place in life. Of course he didn't get off the rack. It's where he voluntarily put himself, mentally, for years before he ever went to hell. In that sense it must have been a relief. I am a victim. I am a hero. I couldn't have been expected to do more than just fight. Hell was John's idea of himself made manifest.
And Dean? Dean didn't have an idea of himself. Not a hero, not a victim. Too flawed to be a hero, and his dad was the one in pain or his brother was the one in pain, how could he ever be a victim? He didn't have enough of a sense of personhood to feel his own pain. He just had a job to do. Softening the blows. Easing the hurt. Soaking up the damage whenever he could. Selflessness in the sense of wanting to help others but also selflessness in the sense of having no self, no person he knew himself to be. He never had space to figure out who he was to the point that it couldn't be swayed by outside circumstance. The whole point of him, his job as he'd been taught it, was to be swayed, to be flexible to what the people around him needed. Where did that leave him, in hell?
Hell is about pain and for John, pain was something to weather, to battle against, to seek retribution for. It was the enemy in his epic fight. Pain was torrential rainfall. But for Dean, pain was something to absorb, to hold onto so it couldn't leak out onto anyone else, that was his job, that was his job. Pain was a glass of water that was always refilling. You can stand in the rain forever but you can't drink water forever, can you? There isn't room inside you. You have to stop. And Dean did.
Dean Winchester broke in hell, because John didn't. John had a sense of self strong enough to survive hell, because Dean never did.

So, Mish said:
I’m listening to you, your pain is valid, please go on voicing it, the issue should be addressed; I tried to do as much as I could, I truly believed the message Castiel left for the world was important - about being able to be yourself and to love whoever you love, but I see now I failed you, I am sorry; please talk louder, I can’t do anything about it, but I am listening and I will try my best to support you; I’m not allowed to say anything but I am here for you
And you are mad???

the fact that apparently Walker is trying to be in a political "gray area" and won’t confirm his political views while also also actively promoting his brother as his "conservative gay brother" tells me everything I need to know about this show's politics, actually

Something that cannot be blamed on the network or Singer or whatever is the systematic treatment of key female characters in the last few seasons.
We thought that “women take over in the key positions of power” was a thing, like, an actual structural choice, but then it wasn’t. Heaven - Anael never actually did anything: she backed up Lucifer’s rule in heaven for her own reasons in s13, but in s14 we find her on earth again doing her usual stuff. Naomi returned but apparently got put in prison offscreen, and of course Dumah went crazy and needed to be killed (the Dany GoT Finale Treatment).
Rowena became leader of hell, but apparently her power was based on the demons fearing her, which annihilated her entire character arc. Then the plotline was dropped forever, except for an implication that her power might not be so solid. At least she didn’t go crazy.
Billie became Death but eventually went crazy and needed to be killed (The Dany GoT Finale treatment again). Let’s not even talk about the next Death.
Amara didn’t go crazy, but she went emotional over a man, which is just another Female Flavor Of Crazy. So she goes Female and is completely neutralized, disappearing from the story and the narrative. Her entire arc, poof.
Mary, whose return to life had a narrative significance, also gets the entire thing neutralized as she’s apparently happy with John in death. (Which was first written by Berens in Absence, long before the finale.)
The whole narrative about the feminine regaining freedom and agency that was set up in the Carver era disappeared.
Dean - whose “feminine” side was supposed to regain freedom and agency - got 1 line saying he wasn’t a killer when he chose not to kill Chuck, but like five minutes later he’s threatening someone with physical torture and is excited about going to chop some vampires’ heads off, annihilating his entire story even without counting the absurd speech to Sam that just went scorched-earth.

I have no clue how the industry works. Could this hurt Jared’s future in the industry, because he was negative about his former network?
https://t.co/Gy6dDjsnZi
No, for a few reasons. First, bonafide lead actors with high-rated shows are easily forgiven i.e. David Boreanaz sued Fox over profit participation dispute for 5 years (X) and get a lead role of Seal Team on CBS during that time. Second, published interviews by Nexstar/CW late last year and early this year contradicts their actions during the negotiation breakdown with CBS. Third, everybody is kind of mad at Nexstar. Larry Teng publicly blasted them over Independence's cancellation and he went on to direct a CBS Tracker episode, which I believe Jensen guest star in, and he's producing a new CBS show, Watson. A month earlier the trade media publicly mourned the demise of the old CW, meaning gone is the gateway for countless writers and showrunners and knowing that there isn’t anything to take its place.
Even though the old CW wasn't technically a network, out of the "big 5 network", I've never seen as much loyalty to one network as I've seen for the old CW/WB/UPN because of their wide variety of genre shows outside the formulaic shows of ABC, NBC, and CBS.
Tumblr media
With that said, the old CW had also contributed to getting a few sub-par writers into positions they have no business being in. SPN’s own Megan Friztmartin being one of them and she went on to ruin Batman’s Tim Drake with her bisexual-fetish fixation. Fanboys complained that she made Tim all about his sexuality instead of a detective/student/hero. During this period the steaming wars caused a glut of contents and it became a golden age for bad actors and writers.

A PSA for all you Dean Stans who think that Dean's victims (eg. Sam, Cas, Jack, etc.) are the ones "abusing" Dean:
Expressing autonomy and fighting for your autonomy is not abuse
Getting upset when someone abuses you, gaslights you, guilt-trips you, manipulates you, or violates your autonomy is not abuse
Saying that you wouldn’t violate someone’s body and autonomy to save their life the way they did to you is not abuse
Not following every order that someone gives you without question like a “perfect little soldier” is not abuse
Wanting to live your own life and be your own person is not abuse
Fighting back when someone is abusing you is not abuse
Getting upset when you find out that someone abused your child and that that same person wants to kill said child is not abuse
Having different opinions from someone, and not being a prejudiced asshole like they are, is not abuse
Being a part of a race/species/group that someone is prejudiced against is not abuse Having special abilities, and using said special abilities to save people, is not abuse
Having an evil asshole for a biological father is not abuse Having a traumatic birth is not abuse
Being an addict is not abuse
Being manipulated by someone and trusting the wrong person, and making a big mistake because of that, is not abuse
Not liking something that someone did for you/gave to you is not abuse
Showing emotions such as anger, sadness, grief, fear, etc. is not abuse
Defending someone else who is being abused is not abuse
Getting upset with someone because they killed your friend in front of her son just because of her race/species is not abuse
Not constantly being at someone's beck and call is not abuse
Choosing saving the world over following someone's orders is not abuse
Siding with your friend/girlfriend/partner/child/etc when someone is being abusive, assholeish, and/or bigoted to them is not abuse
