Jumping on the Taurtis support bandwagon, I'll give my hot take: Taurtis is the only reason why the series functions. Think about it, Taurtis causes most of the conflict in the series. First, Gareth's wife is killed because of Yuki's jelaousy, causing Gareth to commit suicide in the process. Then the school becomes haunted and Taurtis, Sam, Dom and his friends, and Salex all end up there on a dare and a warning from Ellen. This culminates with Salex dying and the yandere plot finally starting for real. And there's more after this like the gang getting sued for the Toritos buisness, getring evicted from their house, the Yakuza showing up and that plot point with Yuki getting more intense, ending the original YHS with the gang going into the witness protection program. And we all know that Sam's character fully relies on Taurtis for everything, but heck, Grian's character, as great of an actor as he is, gets his most interesting and impactful plot points in YHS because of how he interacts with Taurtis personally and how he tries to protect him from Sam (and the whole Taurtis 2 thing). In fact, Taurtis is so much the life blood of this series that he's the ONLY thing holding Sam and Grian's psyches together, and once he disappears in season 2, (since it's revealed he never died and went away on a vacation to learn more Japanese, good for him my son deserves it), ALL the characters (besides my fave son Dom), get more and more depraived, and the series in Tokyo Soul goes downhill as a whole. I even have a theory that Cthulu got rid of Taurtis because Taurtis was warning Sam about using the Necronomicon and was the only thing holding him back from destroying the universe. Cthulu also worked it so that Sam became so depraved that he did the whole Taurtis clone fiasco and then, when that failed, was so desperate to get him back that he went back in time and destroyed the universe, becoming Ruler of the Universe Boy.
TLDR: Taurtis is the conduit of all life in the series and has ascended to god levels, so when he disappears the universe collapes.

Yuki is an interesting antagonist in yhs (imo), so time to rant about her because wow
She was born into the Yakuza and her father makes her do some 'work', which explains her violence tendencies. Sure, she's also a little crazy but it doesn't look like she was raised with correct morals. She's the underboss of the Japanese Mafia, who will finish off her targets and willingly dispose of whoever's a threat to her. This applies to a lot of characters and deaths
On the early episodes of yhs, she took Taurtis' liking of Jane too seriously and killed her off. I'm assuming she decided to frame Gareth after noticing that her classmates had a suspicion of him, ultimately leading to his death.
Her reason for killing Salex is obvious, she was dating Taurtis, her crush in the early episodes. Though the thing is between Salex and her, it looks like she got her dad-Karu- to stalk her until she can finally kill her off. Salex's diary did mention that a weird man with brown hair was following her around, leading Sam and Taurtis to think he's who killed her, but in the last episode it's revealed that Yuki actually ran her over. Talk about taking matters into your own hands though, yeesh. She also framed Chan, taking advantage of how gullible the two are.
Lastly, after hearing about her dad's death, she immediately went down hunting the other 2 people that killed him, Grian and Paul. She willingly let Sam off the loose since they were "dating" at the time and used him to bring Grian to her. She was sadly able to decapitate Paul, but Grian lived after they outnumbered Yuki, leading to her own demise. Youch.
She's one of the yandere types in the series. Overly obssessive, not afraid to harm others, can and will use crude ways to get what she wants, etc (like making her dad threaten Sam to date her on the Halloween eps). But I think her being a yandere made a lot sense - again, it doesn't look like she has any remorse, felt sorry for other's losses unless it's her own, and isn't just straight up violent for no reason. Yuki has somewhat of a job to take out people who doesn't pay the Yakuza, which explains why she uses extreme methods to get what she wants.
And on the outside, she doesn't even seem that crazy, not until the later episodes. She's deemed as one of the Cool Kids and even sits at the cool kid table most times, and when she's not, she's at the back of the cafeteria on her phone. She expresses that she's into anime and social media, and spends her time with her friends, especially Sookie and Soul since they share a house. It all seems like relatively normal teenager behavior until she starts killing more people or is triggered. With Salex gone, she's actively sniffing Taurtis' hair (which no one but Sam notices, though he does that too) and was ecstatic when he asked her out to prom. Anyone would be happy if their crush did that, but Sam started hitting on her too for competition and she agreed on him 3rd wheeling or so.
When both of her prom dates dumped her, she got REAL mad and began freaking out, even going as far as to hunt them down at Sookie's after-prom-party.
In conclusion I am rambling too much, but geez her character is just so. Interesting? Makes sense? I have no idea how to piece my words. But what I do know is that Yuki's actions weren't just out of the blue like Sam, though she does develop crushes fast. Again, with how and where she was raised, it makes sense for her to be violent and have death involved, and since her father seems to approve of her doings that just encourages her further.
She doesn't seem to have remorse, nor wants to be caught red handed, which is probably why she only gets closer to Taurtis when a threat was eliminated. She isn't afraid to threaten anyone, given how she pulled a knife out on Rowan, but stopped after hearing he'd explode. Yuki's not just crazy or violent out of the blue, she has a reason to be, though that doesn't excuse her actions.
ps. she's probably one of my favorite characters. She's smart and covers up her crimes, but then again, karma reached her in the end and she died. BUT WHAT IF SHE DIDN'T???? I'm writing a fic about that hehe.

Deathcup by mom jeans ?
A/N: This one was hard bc I couldn't understand the lyrics that well (bc I'm hoh), but I got a sad kinda vibe from it, so that's what you're gonna get bro kdjdndjsnsnd
The light pitter-patter of rain on the roof of the school soothes Grian's frazzled nerves a little. It had been nearly two decades since he had step foot into this place and he had almost hoped it would stay that way, but, of course, Meri had gotten into another fight with Dom and J's kid and Ellen was at work so he was the one that needed to come pick her up.
Okami and Rowan give him small, tired smiles as they pass Grian's daughter off with only a week's suspension this time. Absentmindedly, Grian notices how his former teachers looked so much worse for wear, grey hairs overbearing and wrinkles gathering where they weren't before. They make small talk for a couple minutes, Grian asking about Silly and Necra's well-being and Okami asking in return about his and Ellen's relationship and Sam's therapy.
Slowly, Rowan hobbles over from the empty student desk he had been sat in top of and claps Grian on the shoulder firmly, nearly causing the young man to fall over from the force. It seemed, even in his old age, Rowan was still tens times as strong as Grian would ever be.
"You know, kid, you never did say goodbye..." Rowan says gruffly, his booming voice now but a distant memory.
Grian draws his brows together.
"No, I said goodbye when I graduated. I would have never forgot because you two were the closest I had to actual parents." He says in confusion.
Okami sighs softly and shakes her head adjusting her glasses softly.
"No, dear, he doesn't mean us..." She murmurs, her voice just as soft and sweet as the day she started teaching their class.
Grian pauses to think before it hits him like a bag of bricks and he looks down sadly, tugging at a loose string on the sleeve of his sweater.
"Is... Is he still down there?" He asks softly, feeling a little embarrassed and ashamed.
Okami nods and Grian sighs.
"I'll only be down there a few minutes..." He mumbles, despite everyone knowing he's lying.
If he finally goes to say goodbye, everyone knows he'll finally break down and probably be there for a couple hours.
With a confused huff, Meri follows after her father, down the first flight of stairs and into the lunch room. Off to the back of the room, there was an iron gate closed over a doorway in the wall that she had never noticed before, but Grian goes right up to it and pushes it open with no problem. He walks over, the rain misting over his skin and clothes and the humidity frying his hair, but he pays no mind to it as he spots the small row of gravestones.
Teacher Gareth, a man he never met, but had heard great things about.
Salex Brown, a girl he had heard so many things about, hearing she was so kind and so pretty and so amazing.
And...
And Taurtis.
Grian tears up as he sighs, moving to sit cross legged on the grass in front of the stone as he runs his hands over the text engraved into it.
Taurtis Tanaka.
1999-2015
A brave and loving soul.
Grian bites his lip to try to stifle a small sob that threatens to escape. Taurtis died that night on Halloween while trying drive the bus and, for so so many years, Grian never wanted to accept that. He didn't want to say goodbye because he knew, when he inevitably had to, he would never be the same again.
Slowly, Grian looks over at his daughter, who looks wide-eyed, surprised to see her strong and happy father so emotionally vulnerable.
"Meri... I think I'll be a while. Go on home if you want to, I trust you." He says, his voice cracking as he tries to pull himself together.
The teal haired teenager nods and turns on her heel, already reaching for her phone, likely to call Ellen or Uncle Sammy to have them make sure Grian is okay. Grian doesn't notice though as he looks back at his friend's gravestone.
"Hey, dude... Long time no see..."
Send a song for some vibe writing?

Like my warrior cat au or perish
Sam...Rabbitrunner a lithe white cat known for his speed and ferocious nature in battle, he's gunning for deputy but his battle hungry nature may make it difficult for him
Taurtis...Breezejumper a russian blue with a tendency to daydream and more interest in making up hare brained schemes then actual warrior duties, but strong when paired up with Rabbitrunner in combat and would die for his clan in a heartbeat even if he does seem like hes always in trouble
Grian....Robingaze a turkish van medicine cat who originally started out as a warriors apprentice, but after watching a cat die in his first fight, he turned away from the life of a warrior unable to bear the weight of all the fighting and instead turning his attention to healing, but in a pinch is actually a very skilled fighter and one of the few that can keep Rabbitrunner and Breezejumper in line
Ellen...Mistwalker a black cat and Robingaze’s mentor, they trained them in the art of Starclan and herbs, and is a very calm cat who prefers to stay out of fights but is known for cryptic mumbling when they arent paying attention that tends to hold prophetic meaning, some say they were cursed by Starclan for being originally a kittypet and only allowed to be a medicine cat as the other medicine cat passed and they were the only other cat with medicine knowledge by giving them uncontrollable glimpses into the future that doesn't hold enough information to truly impact anything and that's why they mumble, though thats just a rumor
Okami...Lightstar the leader of the currently unnamed clan, a very kind and fair leader who treats all her clan like there her children but is a very very dangerous fighter if crossed, do not cross Lightstar, Lightstar is scary
Rowan...Rockclaw the brown mate and deputy of Lightstar known for his very gruff no nonsense nature and only showing a scrap of kindness when with his mate and kits, they say he's one of the strictest mentors in the forest, but no one has any proof or evidence or anything he's cruel about it, very few cats are willing to cross him
Yuki...Heartfang, a cream cat with a heart marking on her chest, she's a very skilled hunter and a very pleasant cat to be around, no cat has anything bad to say about her, though rumors say she stares at Rabbitrunner and Breezejumper a lot and may even have a crush, no cat knows her darkest secrets, like that she's the daughter of the leader of a bunch of rogues
Chan....Bramblefoot a black cat who seems normal in basically every way, though she tends to shy away from battles as she can become quite savage in them for reasons she doesn't even know herself, but shes a reliable cat who truly means well even if there are rumors her savageness means she's related to the Dark Forest in some way
Jthestar... Lightningfur, an orange cat and the fastest in the clans, he's known for his extreme speed and rather generous nature, he's a great hunter but tends to be a bit timid in battle, instead serving as the cat to run to get reinforcements, they used to be closer to Rabbitrunner and Breezejumper during there apprenticeship but drifted apart as warriors
Salex...Streampaw, a very pretty silver cat who was found dead on the thunderpath several moons ago as an apprentice and was Taurtis’ first mate, no one knows why she was on the thunderpath, and Heartfang plans to keep it that way, though Mistwalker may know something with the way they look at Heartfang
Silly....Pebblepaw, a brown apprentice with her mothers eyes, shes very astute and a natural strategist with a passion for knowledge, even spending time with the medicine cats to learn herbs just in case she might need them, nothing seems to keep them down

Tautis’ experiences aren’t talked about enough, he literally saw his gf die, was a huge if not main reason they got evicted, nearly got killed by and was partially the reason Gareth died. (There’s a lot more but I’m lazy) we should talk about him more tbh

!!!Spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't finished YHS yet!!!
-----
If Gareth and Salex's ghosts appear and were set free due to Yuki's """death""", what about Rowan and Paul's ghosts? It'd make a lot of sense if they appeared as ghosts too since Yuki killed them like she did Salex.
