Sutures from Various SCP Personnel

I imagine that, if you work at the Foundation, you need to know how to suture a wound. You don’t need to know many medical procedures, but due to the dangerous nature of the work, knowing how to close a wound could be the difference between life and death.

(I ranked these people in order of how good I think they’d be from top to bottom)

If you asked Clef to do stitches for some wound, it would take a lot of convincing. He’ll act like he doesn’t care, and depending on the severity of the wound, he might not care. If you do get him to do your stitches, he’ll be surprisingly good at it. He’ll talk the whole time to distract your mind from the stitches, and he’s really precise with the suture needle. He’s not making a huge effort to be gentle, though. Like he’ll do a good job, but there is no concern for if he hurts you or not since closing the wound is his focus. I imagine suture kits are common in the SCP Foundation, but you don’t get anything to numb it while you’re getting them done, so while some people try to be more gentle, Clef knows he can close the wound better if he just does it like normal. If you move or flinch while he’s doing them, he’ll laugh and either find someone to hold you still, or do it himself. You have no idea how he can hold you in place and do good stitches, but they look fine so you really shouldn’t question it.

I don’t think you’d need to convince Kondraki. Depending on how you got the wound, he might just pull you aside and grab a suture kit without even explaining what he’s doing. He seems like he’d sit you on the kitchen counter/a desk like you do with little kids? If he’s concerned, he’ll be really gentle with the suture needle. It takes him a little bit longer to do stitches than Clef, but they’re pretty much the same quality. He also won’t talk to you while he’s doing them, he’s too focused on the stitches. If he’s mad (at you, at someone else, it doesn’t matter), he’ll still maintain more gentleness than Clef, but he’ll do them faster which’ll hurt more. It’ll probably freak you out because you know he’s upset and you know how crazy he can get when he’s upset, but he’s not gonna hurt you. He’ll just angrily suture your wound. He’ll cover it up with a bandage at the end. If you flinch, regardless of if he’s upset or not, he’ll shoot you an intimidating look. It really doesn’t matter if you make eye contact or not; you can feel it. Because he goes slower than Clef, he can still do them even if you’re not holding completely still.

Gears would notice you’re bleeding, and if he didn’t have anything better to do, he would go grab a suture kit and do your stitches. He has no feelings, so he might not act concerned about if you’re in pain. His hands aren’t shaky, but they’re not as steady as Kondraki or Clef’s. When he’s done, they’ll look fine, too. Gears has years of experience. If you move around, he probably won’t do anything. He’ll sit there and wait for you to stop before he continues.

Iceberg would probably think he was above suturing a wound. He’d be grumbling the whole time about it, and if you flinched or moved at all, he’d be really upset and might yell at you. The stitches would probably look fine if he remembered how to do them, I can’t imagine he’d be frequently asked due to how cold his hands are.

Glass is very emotional, which is a good thing, but not when you’re doing stitches on someone. I think Glass would panic, and then you’d either have to calm him down or find someone else. If you can get him to calm down a little, he’ll probably have shaky hands while doing it due to nerves. He’ll be apologizing the whole time. If you flinch, he might even stop and go get someone else to do them. The thing is: you’ve seen him practice suturing. You know he knows how to do it. He just freaks out when he has to do it on a person who is hurt.

Strelnikov would suck at this for more than one reason. Firstly, he seems like he doesn’t believe in stitches. It’ll heal on it’s own, right? What kind of weak body do you have where you need someone to tie it together? Another reason, and I’ve said this before, I think he likes scars. He’ll probably discourage anyone from getting stitches. Also: He doesn’t have the patience. His patience level is about the amount of time it takes to put a bandage on well. If you’re bleeding, he’ll recommend tourniquet before stitches. If you get him to do stitches, he’ll call you a baby the whole time he’s doing them. When he’s done, you’ll look down and they’ll be the most uneven stitches you’ve ever seen. If you flinch, he’ll probably chuckle and repeat his “you’re such a baby” speech.

Some Quick Researcher and SCP HCs

Hi there! These are some headcanons from an AU that I am working on on my AO3. It would be difficult to explain all here, so I’ve linked the full fic below where the first chapter explains everything.

Full Fic: Project Annie

Summary: I’m having a little trouble working on and coming up with actual stories, so I decided to make a quick chapter of headcanons about the researchers and even some of the SCPs that visit the school from time to time. I hope y’all enjoy!

Dr. Bright:

-You know that fun sub that every so often teaches your class and it’s immediately an awesome day? Bright is like that, except way more unhinged.

-Will go into long-winded stories if you ask, which he absolutely knows that you’re only asking to postpone classwork (he’s complying because he doesn’t want to teach).

-His lessons tend to be physics-professor level of insanity. Talking about Hume levels and how that relates to reality benders? That classroom is going to be cordoned off from future use until they can fix it….if they can ever fix it.

-Yes, students have gotten injured in past lectures. For this reason, he must always have an accompanying researcher to supervise.

-Responsible for graffiti in the boys’ bathroom. Clef may be an accomplice.

 Dr. Clef:

-Likely to put on a movie rather than teach if it’s a topic he doesn’t care about. The movies are likely to be historical war movies from WWII or the Korean or Vietnam War.

-If it’s a topic he cares about, such as weapons or combat, you’re in for a heckin ride.

-Will host obstacle courses and various tests to train students to be combat-ready once they’re in the field. Thankfully, he takes into account age and ability.

-Has flirted with many of the female-identifying teachers, which has gotten him nowhere except being slapped.

-Is not the kindest to anomalous students and has been reprimanded before.

 Dr. Kondraki:

-As mentioned before, he doesn’t like kids. Middle schoolers in particular are the worst.

-That being said, he can find himself relating to the so-called “quiet” kids. Mainly ones that spend their time busying themselves with work and being fascinated with the anomalous.

-Regardless of age, he will happily work with them and teach them everything he knows.

-His lessons also tend to be more tactile than anything. He’s likely to take students on fields trips into the actually field they’re studying in so he can better teach them.

-Curses and smokes regularly in front of the students.

 Dr. Gears:

-Surprisingly good with the younger kids. He understands they have big emotions and tries to talk through them, despite not showing many.

-His. Lectures. Are. So. So. So. So. So. B.O.R.I.N.G.

-Middle schoolers, being the chaotic children that they are, created a pretend cult around him called COG (Cult of Gears). They give him “offerings” in the form of anything metal, such as paper clips, silverware, and spare change. Unfortunately, the principal had to step in because someone stole various metal door handles and brought them to Gears. COG now operates in the shadows. Gears never pretended to understand and just shrugged off this behavior.

-Unsurprisingly, he has a robotics club that lets the students be creative as well as learn practical uses for machines in the Foundation.

 Dr. Crow:

-Can’t work with anyone younger than high school because they will be too focused on the fact that he’s a dog. Doesn’t entirely mind the kids, though he does ask that they ask before petting him.

-Other than that, the older students enjoy working with him and learning about his work.

-Has created an unhinged subsect of the robotics club (with approval from Gears) that uses anomalous chemistry crossed with technology. Despite causing many an explosion, this subsect is still allowed to function albeit with a long list of rules.

-Probably the best of these researchers to speak to about stress due to schoolwork. Firstly, he studied psychology in the past, and second, he understands trying to constantly be a good student is incredibly stressful.

-He also refuses to give up on students even if they don’t seem to care. He knows that the way these things are taught usually aren’t engaging, and when students don’t appear to care, the reality is they’ve usually been given up on and lost all hope.

 SCP-073 (Cain):

-Very laid-back, partially because he barely understands how to interact with kids nowadays. They scare him.

-He’s very kind and awkward, but at the end of the day he wants everyone to be comfortable in class. He allows snacks and drinks, music when appropriate while wearing headphones, and talking as long as it isn’t too loud.

-Will launch into a lecture in Sumerian or various other languages on accident. This leads into him often times teaching the students about these languages.

-Confused use of modern slang also, in the best way possible.

-Roasts historical figures he had the chance to meet.

 SCP-999:

-Definitely not there to give any real lessons, unless you’re expecting the lessons to be different games he enjoys playing and how to sneak candy from the teachers’ prize bins.

-Absolutely loves to play with all the kids and will leave no one to sit alone on the playground.

-Also, will be the first one there to comfort a kid in distress. Anywhere from a breakdown to getting hurt to being stressed over an assignment, he’ll sit next to you and help you relax.

-Unfortunately, must be careful around the youngest kids since they don’t quite grasp the idea of not trying to eat inedible things yet, so a teacher usually supervises.

[Hello My Sexy Readers, I am here with a new chapter and I AM SOO Sorry for the long wait. If you do not know took a break, then fam got covid, then my mom was in the hospital due to long-term effects, and now I am spending most of my free time when not at work helping her as it is bad and it just been a lot I hope you all enjoy this chapter here and thanks for patience]

(Dr. Charles Gears POV) (Watching and Learning Aka Stalking)

I found that my new assistant was good at paperwork and got it done very well. I would watch him work. So focused and determined. He clearly wanted a promotion and was now trying to prove himself. I knew this but I was not going to lose him, so I plan to make sure he stays by my side. When he would look up I would just stare at him blankly for a second then get back to work.

He does not have many friends, he eats lunch by himself most days. If not in the office. He does not hang out with any after work. These were good things, I would not as of yet have to kill anyone who thinks that can have him.

He keeps a journal I believe, I wonder what he is writing about, what is going on in that pretty little head of his. He was always the first one here and the last one to leave. I have taken note of that. He has a temper and lashes out sometimes. Not where he causes damage. He kind of reminds me of an angry kitten.

He enjoys reading in his free time. I would find out what book he is reading and read it as well. My favorite part of watching him is when he is in the shower or changing.

That soft pale skin having water hit him. It made me want to join him but I could wait.

"Dr. Gears." I hear and I look up.

"Hmmm?" I ask Dr. Iceberg.

"I saw you are reading similar books to me, would you like to maybe talk about them at lunch tomorrow?" He asks casually.

I did not even have to make the first mood. "That would be fine," I say and nodded as he went back to work.

He is now one step closer to being mine.
