A 3D-Printed, Comic Sans Mono Typeball for an IBM Selectric II Typewriter! Why does this font actually look so natural and fitting for a typewriter?? And it's only $8! This guy is doing the lord's work.

With a new title aspiring to national reach, this issue's cover story promoted an IBM Selectric modified to become a computer printer. (It was advertised inside for $1925 for the TRS-80 version.) The "Random Access" page mentioned Microsoft was moving from New Mexico to "our neck of the woods," and the editorial responded to "some of the larger publications" referring to the TRS-80 as a "toy" with a spirited defense of its capabilities and the closing comment "with the number of machines out now, it may well become the 'Chevy' of micros."

I officially started selfshipping with Jimmy on August 18th 2023 and i've been happy ever since! i don't have any merch of him but i've gotten more committed over the years with our relationship and i view him as a big piece of my life. I want to rep his brand, but it doesn't exist! This is okay and i'll post about how my collection grows over time.

I use The Sims 3 since i cant afford art right now, and i'm in a MASSIVE art block. I've got a couple pieces of art of Alex, but none of Jimmy. I do have sims models of the entire crew however!!

I’m certainly glad the days of Typewriters are over. Writing on a computer is definitely a much better experience. But there’s just something about using an IBM Selectric, hitting the return key, and feeling the whole table shake as it slams the type ball carriage back to the left, that does it for me.

found out how mimeographs work yesterday and it's extremely cool. you can use a typewriter to cut little letter stencils into a sheet and then it's basically screenprinting with a drum. that shit is so sick. what I really want though is a Selectric so I can swap out the orb that all the letterforms are on for different ones with different fonts. truly the Cadillac of typewriters (Underwood is the Rolls Royce obviously)
