I want you and I don’t want to be a luxury. I want you to need me. I want you to not be able to concentrate because you’re thinking about me. I want you to reach for your phone because you thought of something you have to share with me. I want you to not even be able to breathe at the thought of never seeing me again, because that’s how I feel about you.

Book Review #137 of 2023--
Mistletoe & Margaritas by Shannon Stacey. Rating: 2.75 stars.
Read on December 5th.
This is the second short story in a collection I got from the library and it was quite a bit better than the previous one. So it's all looking up from here. In this one, we follow an accountant whose husband died two years prior to the start of the story and the emotional roller coaster she goes on as she starts to develop feelings for her late husband's best friend. We also follow that best friend who has been in love with his best friend's wife since before they even got married. I liked the idea of the romance but there was way too much guilt and emotional struggle for me to feel like it's truly a romance. It felt a lot more like they had to get past their grief in order to move on and accept the feelings they had for each other. I did like that this was an actual love story and not just a hot and dirty short story. You could tell that they had true feelings for one another. There was still a sex scene for those who are into that. Overall, it's better than the previous one but still not my favorite Christmas short story.

Book Review: "Hot Response" by Shannon Stacey
I’m really excited to bring you this latest book review. Not only is book 18 out of 30 books a firefighter romance, it’s the first time we are revisiting an author and a series from earlier in this challenge with Hot Response from Shannon Stacey’s Boston Fire series. With the other Boston Fire book Flare Up being one of my favorites of the year, this one definitely had some big shoes to…

Which…
